Joining another guild of mages had been something that the blonde haired mage had thought to be impossible. She had fallen so far since her days in Dies Irae and Kalama knew that the chances of finding a place for herself was unlikely. The truth was that she was little more than a violence loving savage now, a being that rode across the world with no other goal than to tear everyone she met to pieces. The curse that had once robbed her of her emotions but to have them return to her in such an explosive way had been almost overwhelming. It had been like a starving person who found themself at an all you can eat buffet. She could not help but indulge and ever since then, she had been doing just that. An armoured wearing rider, seeking vengeance and blood wherever she went. Yet, despite her doubts, she had heard mention of a new guild that had been formed. One who desired power above all things. The blonde could understand that and without another thought, she had set out for a tavern known as ‘The Golden Monkey”, where the guild supposedly was.

The trip was uneventful for the most part and besides cutting down a few moronic fools who tried to wayleigh her, it was quite dull. She despised the long journey and having nothing to do beside thinking brought her no shortage of frustration. There was a time where brooding was all she did but not any more. No, action was what she craved and she certainly hoped that Plumed Serpent would be able to satisfy her wants and desires. Companionship was not something that she particularly wished for but if she came across someone as violent as she? Well, perhaps she could make an exception. Her new start had introduced her to many new vices and the dominating blonde had to admit that having a warm body beside her was rather pleasant.

Eventually, a dreary and rather broken down tavern came into view and with a brief pull on her ghostly steed’s reins, the pair came to a stop just outside of it. It did not look all that great on the outside and with a rather skeptical look in her eye, Kalama would dismount and send her steed back to his realm with a wave of her hand. He had been a blessing ever since she had first accidentally summoned him and now it felt as though he was a part of her. A curious beast indeed and one that listened to her and only her. A drunk male had tried to ride him once, only to find himself being trampled to death, much to Kalama’s amusement.

Entering the tavern, she would instantly feel more than a few sets of eyes upon her but one brief scowl from her was enough to quickly cause them to look away again and after approaching the bar and taking a seat on one of the barstools, she would utter a single word.

    “Tea.”

The bartender raised an eyebrow. “Tea? We do not serve that here. You will have to go somewh..Urgh!”

His words were rather suddenly cut off as the woman raised a hand towards him and started to choke him using her magic. His hands desperately scrambled to this throat, trying in vain to remove her invisible hand.

“Are you deaf or simply stupid?”
Kalama asked, a frown crossing her features again. “When I ask for tea, you make it. Am I clear?”

All he could do was nod and with that, she let him go again, watching the man as he dashed off to fulfill her order.

Rather than the very same bartender returning, a cup of tea was placed down on a saucer beside the woman. "It's not often that we see proprietors asking for tea at a bar," the Zodiac spirit Jin-Ho said, taking a seat beside her. "Most folks are only here for cheap booze and a place to rest and relax should their travels be far." The bartender soon neared, a cup of tea in his hand. Jin-Ho waved him off. He knew that worker. A demon of gluttony was that one. Not a cook by any means, just a demon that wandered around the place eating his fill. He poured bottles into glasses, nothing else. "I would not trust the cooking of people such as this. That was a poor brew in his hands. I trust this one is satisfactory? Dongxian leaves, distilled into the water at an optimal temperature. There's a certain elegance to tea that is just lost on others. Just a shame so few in my company appreciate it."

The ox stood up, lightly stretching his legs. "But of course, you're not here for the booze - or tea, as it were. Those that are not here for the cheap booze are here for the promise of power. Follow me, madam."

Jin-Ho began walking off, not checking to see if the woman was following him. The demonic staff of the place seemed to tremble slightly as the woman walked past. Jin-Ho could easily tell. This woman was immensely powerful. If they were on an even playing field, a one on one fight with no cheap tricks or cheats at their disposal, she could likely wipe the floor with Odhran. Odhran and all of his Spirits, Jin-Ho included. The staff could sense it. The only patrons that had this much raw energy, this much power and poise, were those that wished to join Plumed Serpent. Unfortunately for Odhran, yet fortunately for all sensible folk, there had not been discovery of this place being the ultimate hiding spot of Plumed Serpent. That was at least something to rejoice in. They could not withstand a Rune Knights raid if Sinclair or Ragnos led the charge, that was for sure. Perhaps they would have a fighting chance with the addition of the twins, but even so, there was little hope in a full fledged war. Nonetheless, Jin-Ho was happy to introduce more people to the guild. Odhran was powerful, but not enough.

His musings stopped as he arrived at the Obsidian Mirror, nestled deep within the barrels of terrible beer in the cellar of the tavern. "Whenever you are prepared, we can enter the realm of Plumed Serpent. Though, I would appreciate a name. I am Jin-Ho, the Year of the Ox. I am a Celestial Spirit in the employ of the Guildmaster, Odhran Aegisbane. And you would be?"

Kalama’s golden gaze turned to face the Ox-like creature for a moment as he sat down beside her, as if she was trying to stare into his soul. It was a look that she gave all those who approached her, a simple test to see if they were truly worthy of her time. It lasted long enough that most would have begun to feel uncomfortable but he seemed to have more of a spine than most and judging from the scent that was coming from the cup placed beside her, he seemed to know how to brew a cup of tea too. That was most certainly a rarity and although she did not say anything, it did score him a few points with her. Perhaps she would ask him for his particular blend sometime, assuming their encounter ended on a good note, of course. Violence followed the blonde wherever she went these days and that was something that would continue, until her rampage was brought to an end or there was no one left for her to kill.

He seemed to know why she was there and she did intend to follow him but before doing so, she raised a hand and said, her tone rather no nonsense. “In a moment. First, I wish to drink this beverage that you so politely brewed for me.” After a brief sniff, she would then place the cup to her lips and drink, a delicious texture tickling her taste buds as she imbibed the lovely liquid. It met with her approval and as she finished her cup in no time at all, her gaze would return to him. “It is satisfactory. You have my thanks. We may leave now.”

At that point, she would stand up and follow him as he led her through the various twists and turns of the tavern, deeper into the depths of the building. She mused to herself that it was an adequate place for a group of power seekers to hide although she had to admit that the thought of hiding from anyone was rather irritating to her. Still, as long as this guild were actually capable of aiding her in her pursuit of power then she supposed it did not matter all that much. She would grasp such power with both hands and unleash it on anyone stupid enough to get in her way, where it be under her blade, her powers or the hooves of her all mighty black steed. Death would come to all those who she deemed deserving of it.

Eventually, they came across what appeared to be a jet black mirror, an object that appeared out of place and resulted in a rising of the woman’s eyebrow. “An unusual item to be rotting down here, is it not? I suppose this is some kind of passageway to your guild?” As he introduced himself, she would return the favour, her gaze focusing on him again. “I am Kalama. Once a member of the Dies Irae guild, now simply a creature of destruction who wants to see everything burn. My only desire is to increase my own strength, in order to continue with my quest to desolate.” There was no messing around, simply the stone cold truth from her.
