The neutral grounds home to advanced technology, prominent industry, bizarre criminal elements, and an obnoxiously long line in front of one factory in particular. The large complex famous for producing the now massively desirable iLac item was now giving them away to individuals who came to their factory. Business analysts for ages would be left questioning this decision for years, but at least it got the product out there. One soul stuck in the massive wait queue was everyone's least favorite morally bankrupt thief mage: Cain- This narrator was going to list his last name but it occurs he doesn't even have one, which is exceptionally bogus. In any event out last-nameless-not-so-heroic-hero was in perhaps the longest line of his entire life in order to get his greedy hands on the latest in lacrima technology. The advanced communication abilities advertised offered a very strong appeal to the dashing rogue on the go and Cain was intent to stay at the forefront of the dashing rogue game.

Tragically, the anti-theft systems on iLac devices were said to be quite absurd. Even the most skilled thief can't bandit away a devise that can magically report its own theft. Well they could. They would just be caught. Thinking about it Cain made a note to disable as many of the lacrimas security features as possible once he legally obtained it. Last thing he needed was for the Rune Knights to use it to snoop on him or something of that nature. A possibility that really started to bug him as the line moved forward at a snails pace.

Approximately 7 minutes later and what felt like 12 years later the line had advanced a fair bit. The promise of a shiny new toy kept strong the spirit of Cain and his fellow line prisoners as they made their cattle-like march ever closer to the factory. Still, things were starting to look up, as the line progressed Cain began to lose his sense of time and in doing so it began to speed u- Never mind the child standing in line behind him ran out of snacks and started crying. Great. Just Great.

About two hours had passed when Cain found himself at the entrance to the factory, the line still went on a ways inside but the end was insight. His every nerve was strained, courtesy of now not one but four crying children nearby in line, but hope propelled him forward. The last twenty minutes passed like a delinquent student who realized he needed that C- to not get kicked out of his house, but they passed. Finally at the front of the line the reasonably tired looking receptionist groaned, "Welcome to the lacrima tech factory. Thank you for being one of the few dedicated customers to take our promotional offer for a free iLac. Please choose one from the pile on the right." Cain looked to his right and sure enough there was a dwindling pile of iLac boxes, wasting no time he snatched one and made a beeline for the exit.

His sanity was barely intact, but his objective was complete.
