Out of the frying pan and into Tolgalen Empty Out of the frying pan and into Tolgalen

It was a sunny day, the kind that would easily make someone complacent and make them sit around in a garden to just enjoy the warm light of the sun, sleep on a couch all day or just go for a carefree stroll. Without as much as a cloud in the sky, the local animals were also making the best of this situation as there was something else entirely found in the air. Many swallow had taken to the skies to chase down and capture flies and other bugs that used this time of the day to get from one place to the next, something they could not do unhindered when it was raining. Catching bugs, squashing them with their beaks and returning them to their nests, they used the remains to feed their young who eagerly awaited the return of one of their parents so they could gorge themselves on beetles and flies. In truth, it was a day just like any other with little to nothing giving away the fact that something peculiar was about to happen any second now.

As a bright flash of light appeared and disappeared as soon as it had come, a person wearing tattered robes stepped out of thin air and onto the soil of Tolgalen. Touching ground with a near soundless thump, he looked around from under his hood, using a thick branch to support his fairly tall frame while trying to orient himself as to where exactly he was right now. One thing was clear to see, he was no longer within the Greenscape, so chances were that he had ended up back in Fiore. Given the buildings that had undoubtedly been created by humans, he at the very least knew for certain that he was back in Earthland. Knowing for sure that he had never been here before in his life, it took him a moment to orient himself in terms of directions, though it also took him a while before his senses came back properly. As soon as they did, his ears could pack up people from different directions talking about a man that had just popped up out of thin air, and that he looked dangerous.

Though he wasn't exactly dangerous, he figured that his tattered and beaten appearance mixed with the hood might give the impression that he was up to some nefarious purpose. Considering how many a dark mage dressed up just like him for the sake of looking dark and broody, he had actually been forced to wear these clothes because he had nothing else in the place where he had spent the past two months. While the massive woodlands there had provided him with a good amount of shade, food and opportunities to hunt for food when nature itself would not provide him with nuts, berries or fruits, clothing such as this provided him with a good amount of natural camouflage and made him look very unappealing to the larger predators that roamed about there. Now that he was no longer in that place, it was strange for him to acclimatize to all of these sounds around him coming from creatures that did not necessarily want to harm him. So much so that it almost gave him a feeling similar to a post traumatic stress disorder.

Trying to get away from all the noise and find a spot where he could get some rest and time to figure out what kind of place he had ended up in, he used his wooden crutch to slowly move forward as his body was still incredibly sore. Having trouble just to keep his eyes open after the ordeal he had been through just seconds prior to coming to wherever it was that he was now, it took a lot of concentration just to keep his head in the game. Maneuvering across the pavement slowly, he could still tell that there were people around him without really needing to see them as just smelling their cologne, shampoo or washing product and their hushed whispering was enough to tell him exactly where they were. That was one of the side effects of spending so much time in a place where just about everyone was trying to kill him, it pushed his slayer senses to become even more fine tuned for the sake of protecting himself. Hoping to find a place where he could sit down for a minute and maybe take a nap, he kept limping his way forward.

    Through The Soul
Does the Power of Rebirth Lay

Despite the beauty that was Tolgalen there was something that lingered in the air. Aliannah had previously been at the Sanctuary, basically her second home, checking in with the kids and the people that lived there, when she had been called with news. She had wanted to check in now, as she had recently brought back another child from one of her trips out, this time with Elias at the festival. But her time with them had been short upon hearing the news and headed back to the West Fiore Trading Company after ruffling the hair of the new boy.

She could remember seeing the child, maybe seeing was not the right word, but feeling the child's eyes on her and turning around to spot the male in the streets and alone amongst the people. It was always something sad that drove the girl to take in the children, it was a sympathy, an empathy of being in the same position. The blonde could remember, remember her family, the smiles and the joys that would ricochet off the walls as she and her sister would run down the halls being chased by the giant dragon that was their father. She remembered the mighty knight that would come and save them and swoop the twins off of their feet and into their arms of their mother.

The way Mother's lips would always touch her forehead and leave a lingering mark. She missed her family, the smiles and the feelings that her Mother and Father rained down on her. She missed her sister, sharing everything with her, it was them against the word... that was until their world was taken from them and Aliannah and she became separated. Aliannah in the hospital and the other somewhere in the world until they came back together.

Aliannah was never born with magic. It wasn't something that she possessed, not as a young child at least. She remembered her sister having magic. Growing up and showing the younger how she could make sparkles from nothing, how she could make a flower bloom just by touching it. Aliannah was always amazed by her sisters magic, she wanted to be magic sometimes to do the same. But it was never something that she possessed, so she accepted that beauty through her twin. The blonde didn't remember having her sister ever train her magic, it was always something that was free floating and mystical.

However, that was no longer the case. Aliannah possessed magic now, strong magic, and multiple magics. But despite having magic now, there was no one in her family to share it with. Her parents no longer there, her sister else where exploring the world, gotten on a ship and gone else where. Sure the girl wanted to know where her sister was, but she always hoped that the other would come back or send her a letter to inform the younger that she was okay. Aliannah knew that there was nothing that was severely wrong or else she would have felt it, the separation of twins was never something to doubt, but the blonde just wished that her sister would send her a sign that she was doing okay.

Aliannah could remember the day that she left, boarding onto a ship claiming that she needed to find herself. Yet the twin told Aliannah that she needed to do it alone. It was around that time that the female mage had realized that she needed to learn how to control her magic on her own as well. It was a separating, but it was a growth. It was something that Aliannah didn't realize that she needed, but got anyways.

So here she was now, an Ace at one of the most powerful "Guilds" in Fiore. Honestly the girl didn't know how she got here, she was honestly just trying to fly under the radar, she was never one for the praise or for the recognition. She wanted to do her job, she wanted to stay in the same place until her sister came back. She remember Black Sails, her previous guild, closing down and shutting their doors, Aliannah had felt so abandoned, but Cirven, the Guild Master of Black Said had taken her under his wing and led her to this new guild. She entered the guild as it was just beginning to be established. But she was also still training herself with her magic, she wasn't around often. It was a test of time.

Yet, there she was, acknowledged for her power and for her dedication to the West Fiore Trading Company. Her new family.

Maybe that was why the news that was coming in shook her to the core. A Dark Guild. A Dark Guild was running rampant throughout Tolgalen, her home, her family. This was not something that she wanted, it was something that she was scared for. She had finally established herself in this home and began a new home for those who had lost theirs and there was a possibility that she was going to lose it.

But she wasn't going to lose it. Not if she had anything to say about it. This was her family, her friends, her home.

She was only going to lose this over her dead or undead body.

Her feet hit the solid ground like feathers, she made little to no noise as she walked up to the main headquarters, but the female walked with purpose and with determination. Her petite hand made connection with the wooden door and just with her slight touch the door opened almost as if a shove had opened it. She marched in, there was no emotions on her face, a plastered blank face was what the world saw at the moment. Serious and to the point. Aliannah usually wasn't one that would scare people, usually a happy face around the guild, but right now, the girl couldn't put any other emotion on her face but discipline.

People moved out of the way as she walked, skittering as to not get in her way. She probably would have run into someone if they had gotten in the way. She really wasn't happy. But it wasn't as if her face was like it was out of anger, it was mostly a cover to hide the fear and the concern that would be laced in her features otherwise.

She made her way past people and to the elevator, where she pressed the button and only paused what could have been been misinterpreted as death walk, to wait for the elevator to arrive at the main floor.

The moment that it did the girl watched as people unloaded and swerved around her before entering the mechanism and pressing the 'close doors' button and then the button that would take her to the meeting room. Now that she was out of sight of the other people in the guild the girl was nearly shaking and her hands were clutched at her waist in urge to control it. Her bottom lip was pulled up into her mouth and she was biting on it. It was honestly a good thing that she was wearing her uniform when she went to check on the Sanctuary cause there would have been no time for her to go back and change into something else. Her hair was in a low pony-tail, beginning to come loose and smaller strands of hair were coming out of it.

Compared to earlier the woman looked like a small child. Tears were finally welling at the edges of her eyes and she was shaking. She needed to be strong for the people in the guild, but amongst the upper people in the guild, she was still the baby. She didn't need to be strong.

The moment that the doors to the meeting room the girl ran from them, there was no need to hide how frantic she was anymore. What she had build could be destroyed with a single attack of a full guild. She reached the meeting doors and paused, taking a deep breath and pulling herself together as she pushed the door open and walked in. "I'm here. I came as soon as I heard."

Post by Sol 15th September 2019, 6:59 pm

Sol Sat at the table of the meeting room a cup of coffee in front him and a serious look on his face as he read the report on the intel they had recently obtained and the Reaper had alerted the vice presidents of the upcoming issue, they had gotten information that a upstart dark guild called Blighters Vine was aiming to the continent and thought they could defeat the company easily. While Sol had no doubt that they had more then enough man power to take down such a threat and he had faith in himself and the other higher ups to deal with the issue he still would not risk anything to chance and the moment they had gain the hint of an attack pointed at the continant Sol had the place on high alert, it was becoming clear however that if they were this confidant then either they had the strength to make a full frontal assault or they were going to try striking from within. He took a sip of his coffee as he suddenly heard the doors open to the meeting room and Aliannah arrived and approached him. The Reaper looked at her before finishing his coffee and standing.”Ah good Timing Miss Ramiel I was just about to head out and follow a lead I just got on where these dark mages might attempt to attack first the more mages we have to deal with this issue the better I already sent out alerts to the others but for now it looks like its just me and you for the moment “ he said as he formed a portal on the ground made of shadows for both of them to go thru.

Sol would step into it first before emerging on the outskirts of the village that was said to be the target of the attack and Sol glanced around his blood ruby eyes scanning the area before he settled on a figure limping into town and the Reaper blinked before motioning for Aliannah to follow him. He approached he was guarded but he put a gentle hand on the mans shoulder before he spoke.”Are you ok sir you look a bit worse for wear” he asked with concern before he started to hear the sounds of yelling further into the Village and he quickly glanced at the Vice President beside him.”Miss Ramiel go and get a look at whats going on it could be the mages starting the attack” he said as he looked to Solmar then too a few figures approaching them in dark robes and having dark auras around themselves as well.”well looks like they decided to come to us” he muttered as he stood before Solmar and materialized his blade to prepare to fight.

Post by Thagirion 16th September 2019, 11:10 am

When two figures appeared before him, he was quite sure that he had seen at least one of them before during a job in the cursed lands. Though that had been two months ago for him, given how much time he had spent in the Greenscape fighting against all manner of evil creatures and their corruption, he was not sure how much had passed here. Though he felt like the times had not changed much, the fact that he stood in this place which he had never seen before made him question that. From what he could tell, people here did not know who he was, which was probably a good thing too. Even though he had been considered one of the rising stars, which gave him a slight amount of fame within Fiore, he imagined that either had not spread here or maybe his hood covered more of him than he had thought it would. It was a good thing however, he much preferred people not having any idea as to who he was as it would likely provide him with more time to rest up.

When a hand was placed on his shoulder, he turned his attention towards the man that was accompanying the familiar woman, asking him whether he was feeling alright since he did not really look like it. Knowing that it wasn't so much the way he looked as it was also the way he felt, there was only so much one person could take before they got pushed over their physical limitations. In his own attempt to halt a spreading corruption, he had taken a lot more of a beating than ever before in his life, which was saying something. He had limbs sprained, had bones broken, had organs torn and at times a combination of these things, he had always been able to continue soon after due to his regenerative properties coming from Vetis. Now that it was no longer a part of him, he no longer benefitted from such things, meaning every hit he took did not just stop hurting while cuts and bruises no longer just disappeared after an hour or two.

"Honestly, I've seen better days. Would not mind sleeping for the next couple of days."

Though he said it in the most serious of fashions, he imagined that some might have taken it as him making some kind of sarcastic joke, even though that was not how it was intended. Finding that many people considered his serious stoicism as some kind of sarcasm due to him being only eighteen years of age, he had learned to deal with it and not take offense when people laughed at his remarks. When he picked up on some talk regarding some sort of dark guild however, he felt strangely revitalized. Though he had made sure not to take on too many jobs that put him up against other people, there had been one exception to this rule in which he had come across a dark mage that had been using an undead wolf to kill people and drag their bodies back to his lair. There, he performed all kinds of dark experiments on their bodies and their souls in order to create an army of undead minions, one being even stronger than the next. Taking off his hood, he looked at the man and the woman when they claimed that the dark mages seemed to be coming to them.

    "Dark mages?"

Post by Aliannah 20th September 2019, 6:18 pm

    Through The Soul
Does the Power of Rebirth Lay

Aliannah couldn’t say that she was calm, not even after taking a second for herself to actually calm down. But the more she listened to Sol, the more she felt her heart rate begin to slow and for her mind to catch up. Yes there was danger, yes this was an immediate problem, but there was honestly no way that the guild couldn’t handle this before it became a larger issue.

She took another breath as she listened to her higher up talking. He was very calm, which was nearly the complete opposite of herself, which maybe she should take a note from his book. But she listened to the words that were coming from his mouth, words that alerted her to the information that the dark guild had gotten in farther than she had anticipated. Her heart rate spiked once again before she managed to calm it.

Sol told her that other mages had been informed of their situation, she wondered if Ruvel had been informed, she really hoped that he hadn’t. The smaller really would have their heads, all of them. The girl nodded in return, she really didn’t need to say anything as there really wasn’t anything to say.

Indigo eyes watched as the elder formed a portal on the floor. Aliannah had never travelled via portal, which was going to be something new. The girl looked at the portal, how the heck was this going to work? Maybe he should made it on the wall so that they could walk through it rather than like, jump?

The other stepped through the portal before motioning for the girl to follow suit. Aliannah legit gave him a look of disbelief before shaking her head slightly and following him through the portal. She emerged on the other side, the outskirts of one of the many villages that took residence within Tolgalen. With one look around the girl noted that there seemed to a dark aura that floated about the town, but not only that, there also seemed to be tangible tension throughout the place. The blonde really didn’t like that.

With her eyes taking in the scene the girl also picked up on the frame of another, the magic signal was familiar and the girl couldn’t help but piece it to the man that she had run into once before. The girl forced her face into something that was more stoic. Maybe with Sol alone she could show her facial expressions, but not here, not with other people around. She needed to seem professional. After all, she was one of the Aces of West Fiore Trading Company, one of the faces of the company.

The girl watched from closely behind Sol as he interacted with the new but old character that stood there. How had he gotten into Tolgalen, magic. She was about to make a comment when noises such as yelling were heard in the distance, and not yelling of happiness or joy, but yelling of panic and fear. This was really not good. The girl’s attention was drawn immediately to the new information and she grew curious and on edge of what was going on.

It seemed like she was not the only one as Sol quickly informed her to ‘go and get a look’. She really didn’t need to be told twice. With a “Yes, Sir.” The girl turned on her heel and began her way over the village. There in front of her were several figures in dark robes. They didn’t look too nice, kinda mean looking, definitely had some dark auras, but the girl really didn’t mind. If they were the ones that was causing the trouble then she was going to be the one to bring them down.

The girl listened to the comment made form her superior and then to the comment from the other male mage. Yes, dark mages.

    “It seems so.”

The cloaked figures continued to get closer until they were only a couple meters away. They stood tall, well taller than her, and they were a mixture of both lanky and bulky. There were five of them it seems in total, three that stood towards the front and two in the back.

Her indigo eyes darkened as she glared at the oncoming people. What did they want with Tolgalen? What were they doing here? How did they get here? Aliannah grit her teeth, she braced herself and prepared her magic. Of course, that was not always what she was going to go for first, but it was always a good thing to prepare.

Stopping, finally, about 5 meters away the new group looked at the three mages. “We are mages of Blighters Vine, here to take Tolgalen for our own. Do not fight or struggle our take-over, for you will not win. Just leave so that you too will not perish at our hand.” It was the man in the middle talking. He as tall, very tall, but he was slim. He seemed to hold power within his voice and it seemed like he was the leader.

The girl was ready to fight, she was ready to protect what she had built, she was ready to protect her family. But she knew better than to move before being told. She may have been an Ace, but she followed to rules of her superiors. Sol hadn’t said to attack, he hadn’t said to move. So she wouldn’t, she wouldn’t until he either told her to do so or did so first.

The girl looked back at the other two mages, what were they going to do now.

Out of the frying pan and into Tolgalen Empty Re: Out of the frying pan and into Tolgalen

Post by Sol 21st September 2019, 3:30 pm

Sol nodded at the mans words as he mentioned that he wouldn’t mind sleeping for a few days straight.”Perhaps we can arrange something before” he said before he was cut off by the appearance of the other mages from blighters Vine.Sol glanced back at Solmar as he had his blade at his side and ready.”I can sense magic from you if your able to we would appreciate a hand dealing with these troublemakers but if not then please stay behind us” he said muttered in a hushed tone as the five mages got closer. It seemed that Aliannah was waiting on his command to enguage though he could sense her magic starting to rise as she prepped herself and Sol did the same. As the mages introduced themselves and arrogantly said they would be taking Tolgalen for themselves Sol could only pinch the bridge of his nose in irritation as they told them not to fight or struggle. The moment the leader had stopped talking Sol had opened his eyes that he had closed for a moment and all five would instantly gain a flicker of unease as the CEO’s blood ruby eyes were devoid of any remorse or mercy and only held an icy and focused look in them.” It seems that you think you have the strength to handle us though from your body language just now it seems to say otherwise” he said his tone was formal but yet you could catch an edge of ill intent in his words. It was then that Sol suddenly smiled which put the five mages even more on edge. “Miss Ramiel I believe its time that we teach these interlopers a lesson in what happens when you cross Boundrys” he stated knowing that Aliannah would catch the hidden meaning of those words which was that she was clear to engage like he would be.

The leader would suddenly turn before speaking.”Take them out and let the others on the far end of the island know to come” before the leader could finish Sol had suddenly shot forward and in the blink of an eye was behind the group and facing back at Aliannah and Solmar before he would simply tap his blade and the man crumpled to the ground as gashes suddenly opened on his arms and legs disabling him.Sols red eyes glanced at the four around him who were suddenly shocked at how fast he had taken down the supposed leader. What had the Slayer intent on ending this fast was the knowledge that more mages were in the village and the longer they dealt with this group the more time the other group had to cause damage and harm to others. Reaching out mentally he spoke to Aliannah ‘Miss Ramiel we need to leave one be so we can track them to the others, if there is more we need to get a good idea of how many we are dealing with’ he told her telepathicly as he turned and readied his blade against another of the remaining four dark mages

Out of the frying pan and into Tolgalen Empty Re: Out of the frying pan and into Tolgalen

Enjoying the notion of how something could be arranged for him in terms of sleeping quarters, he did not really need anything from anyone. At this point, some of the best nights of his life had been spent simply sleeping under his fur coat in an abandoned bear den, rather than on a soft bed in an expensive suite. That said, he still liked the gesture. This was however cut short when the strange mages from a guild called "blighters vine" became a bit louder about their business, much to his dismay. When one of them got cut down however, it became clear that Solmar was not the only person here who could move at very high speed, which was quite honestly nothing short of interesting. It did however trigger turmoil among the invading dark mages, who currently still outnumbered them. Throwing his makeshift cane into one of the targets furthest away from him, the lingering white flames quickly started spreading to engulf the man. As he was in the act of falling to the floor, the sharp stick penetrating his lower abdomen, the flames quickly ate away at his clothing and skin before digging in deeper. By the time the guy fell to the floor, there was already very little to nothing left for his comrades to do for him. In fact, the only way to save the guy now was if Solmar were to turn off his flames or turn them towards doing the opposite, which was healing.

Unfortunately for him, the young mage was in no mood for such things as the man had chosen his own fate by not only becoming a dark mage, but mostly by trying to invade and take over a place like the one he was in now. Though he still had no idea where that was, he figured that did not really matter all that much. While it did not really seem like his help was really needed here as there were already two capable mages on the site, the fact that he was asked to help out most likely meant that it was the numbers of the dark mages that really posed a threat. By the time the wooden stick had burned away and only some white flickers remained of the flame that had reduced one of their comrades to a smoldering husk remained, another had decided that it was up to him to try and avenge his fallen allies. Charging straight towards Solmar as he was the one that probably seemed the most battered and beaten out of the three, which was not that bad of a decision to make in most cases, it was something that condemned him to a quick end. Once Solmar registered the attack, he extended his hand towards him and snapped his finger. Once the sound was registered by the ears of those surrounding him, all that was seen was a flash of light that had already disappeared again by the time someone blinked their eyes.

In that moment, the attacker had been reduced to what seemed like no more than a teacup full of ashes that scattered in the wind. While this was currently Solmar's strongest spell, it was also his fastest spell, and that was where its true powers could be found. Where his white flame magic was what packed the most strength, it was in his light magic that attacks resided that moved far, far faster than the eye could see, meaning it was faster than the average or even most advanced mages would be able to respond to in close quarters. With one of the men cut down and on the floor, another burned to a crisp and a third disintegrated before their very eyes, only two of them remained in tip top shape. Though he could have captured the other two in the same spell that had disintegrated the other, he felt that this show of force which had rendered three of them out for the count or dead might make them think twice about attacking them. That, and he was still unsure as to what the woman had planned on doing with the others or if they even wanted to keep people alive. At this point, Solmar did not really know much about where he was or what the surrounding area was like, so just knowing that the allies of the dark mages were "on the far end of the island" did not do much towards providing him with a place to go next.

For the moment, he would do the safe thing and wait.
