Post by Tyson Rhodes 29th May 2019, 1:55 pm

It was a nice hot and sunny day. The sky was clear, no clouds in sight. Like any day of the week, the streets were crowded and busy. People carrying on their errands, carrying on their lives. Honestly, it was all way more peaceful feeling than Ace of Spades. Sabertooth City could at times be incredibly chaotic.

As much as one would want to sightsee, Tyson had to complete his assignment first. Gotta make sure the delivery was on point, the inn was in need of supplies to prepare for the summer season. With a town such as Oshibana, no wonders a lot of visitors would should up. Just by the few things he had managed to take a glimpse at, the town looked like some sort of paradise.

"There you go sir, these are the supplies you requested." The mage stated with a grin as he settled down the package on the counter. From what he had been told, it was a collection of different kind of herbs and extracts used for seasoning and other stuff. Lotsa different types of pepper too. It was kinda intresting, thinking about just how different cooking could be from town to town. Every place had its onw identity and its own way of showing it.

A few signatures on contract papers and he was finally free! Looking up, the sun was beginning his descent below horizon. He still had a few hours of light though. He could perhaps walk around and explore a bit...you know, to get at least a good look at the surrounding area. He did not really have any other urgent job to do. He was pretty much free for the weekend. Now, he could return home, or he could spend the next three days there. Why not? It would be a nice change of air. He could unwind a bit and then get back to Ace of Spades in top form for his next job!

And so there he was, walking down the street at a slow pace. Nowhere to really visit, nowhere to really go. It was kinda relieving. Then, suddenly, an odd detail.

    What a weird advert...

Tyson didn't know what to do. I mean, the job seemed quite easy really. Just try an harmless potion and get payed alot of jewels for that. Just a taste test should not be that bad no? Besides, part of his slayer heritage included immunity from poison so the worst it could happen was...nothing?

Oh boi how wrong he was.

"PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS NOT PERMANENT!" The Rising Star squealed at the top of his lungs, before a flash blinked from behind him. Tyson froze, ears flicking once. Turning around, he could see...a slew of photographers. Someone probably had recognized him when he walked around town. They were probably following him trying to get a hot new scoop on a Rising Star. Perhaps one of those embarassing gossips that rack .

    ...Oh no.

A miriad of flashes illuminated Tyson's new bunny form. Silver fur with darker stripes. A milky white belly. Black nose, a trio of wiskers on either side of a snout.

"OH NONONONO!" Tyson quickly waved his paw hands around, trying to block the reporter's cameras. No matter what he did, it was a losing battle. He could block one lens, another would pop out somewhere else. He could almost see the real time headlines. "Local Rising Star turn into fluffy bunny. Tyson Rhodes likes Transformation Cosplay. The Bunny Slayer." Oh no no no no no no! NO! NO! NO! Everyone would see, everyone would know!

"Guys, please..." Tyson was begging for his life, basically. His entire carreer could crumble. Right then there. Only that cause he had decided to help an old mage try out their potion. 'Mr.Rhodes, Mr!' he could hear them begin with their questioning.

Now he was embarassed, flushed red and incredibly frustrated. He quickly found some way to shove them out of the door, before blocking it with his own weight. The humanoid bunny looked towards the mage that served him the blasted trans-fur-mation potion. "PLEASE, tell me this isn't permanent." Tyson then pointed to an half open closet. "And I'm going to need that." he said to the old mage as he used his paw to point at a cloak.

Three days. THREE WHOLE DAYS! Dear heavens, how was he supposed to go around looking like that for three whole days!?

The Poison Slayer quickly grabbed his hood with his hand paws and tugged it back over his face hard. Of course it would get windy. So not only that thing he was wearing was super uncomfortable with his long ears, the wind also threatened to expose him every now and then.

He needed to find somewhere secluded. He needed some sort of secret place. He could see a couple more reporters running towards the old man's botique hoping to find him still there. Oh boy. "Bunny Rhodes." The news was already out. He just hoped it wouldn't make it to the Magic Council or the Sorcerer Magazine. It was already bad that people knew about it here. He hoped it wouldn't leave the local news. If it reached his guild, he would never hear the end of it. What would Imai say? What would his Guild Masters think? That he went around drinking things from strangers? Also what about his image!? Like, he was supposed to be a strong Dragon Slayer, not a stupid fluffy bunny person thing. What even was he supposed to be now? Were rabbit?

The more he thought about it, the more Tyson descended in a spiral of frustration. Man he was so pissed. He would become the laughing stock of the Sabertooth...

The Bunny Star stopped walking. While his physiology was undoubtely...different, his earing was perhaps even a little more refined. He could hear sobs coming from the other side of the road. Tyson checked to see if there was anyone else there but the kid making those crying noise, but it didn't seem so.

He should just find a safe place. But...the kid...what if...aaaargh! No time to dwell

Tyson quickly hopped over to the other side, carefully approaching the kiddo. "Uuuh...h-hey there..." He asked. "What's up little buddy?"

The kid looked like he was around six. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less. As soon as he looked up, the kid's eyes lit up like a christmas tree. He rushed and glued to Tyson's waist. Bon Bon was saying? Did he think he was a cartoon character?

Tyson didn't know what to do right there. Well, technically he needed to help the kiddo. The Slayer gently pulled away from the hug and squatted down to eye level. "What's your name little guy?" He asked. Cole was the reply. Was the little kid embarassed now? Well, I guess he would be too if he were that age and thought he was talking to one of his heroes.

Tyson hesitated for a moment. "N-nice to meet you Cole. Do you know where are your parents?" The kid shook his head. He almost started crying again. Tyson's heart was sinking. He needed to help this kid, even though he had the bunny problem in his paws.

"Hey, Hey...Cole...sssssh!" Tyson sweetly cooed, gently placing his right hand paw on the kid's lips to stop him from crying. "I'll help you find your papa and mama, don't worry." He stated with a smile on his snout. "Everything is going to be alright. You trust me right?"

And so the duo started walking with Tyson holding hands with the kid. It was getting kinda late now. He could see the kid starting to tremble a little and shiver. It was kinda getting cold. Tyson cursed his luck, but he knew what he had to do. He stopped and removed the cloak he had been wearing since he left the old man's place. He gently folded it and placed on Cole's shoulders. "There we go little buddy. Feeling better now?"

Cole nodded. Great. That was at least something good to calm his spirit. Already he was getting looks from the passerbys. Some were whispering to eachother. He probably got recognized, but he couldn't do anything about it. So he gentlygrabbed the kid's hand again and started walking down the road towards the last location the kid had seen his mom. He was still getting looks but thankfully just a few reporters. They got what they wanted in the end. There he was. Tyson Rhodes, turned into a rabbit.

Thankfully, they found her mother. As much as Tyson was trying to not mind other people, he was seriously considering bailing. Cole ran straight for her. The mother seemed worried sick and slightly angry Cole had run off on his own, but was glad he was fine.

"Thank you so much!" He heard she say. She was trying to show gratitude, even though she was kinda weirded out by who brought Cole back. Or at least, that was what the Slayer tought. She surely looked surprised. Tyson waved his paw. "It's fine ma'am. It's been a pleasure." Tyson replied, pushing away the jewels that were being handed to him. Then, he felt his other hand being tugged. He looked down and saw Cole staring at him. The kid asked him to come home with him.

Tyson squatted down by the guy and smiled. He raised a hand and gently ruffled the kid's hair. "I'm sorry Cole, but Bon Bon (my god he was really doing this wow) has other important things to do. Maybe another time, alrigthy?"

The kids expression darkened and Tyson kinda felt bad to let him down. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see a couple of reporters secretly taking photos and stuff. Didn't they had other things to do?

Tyson shrugged his frustration and embarassment off as he opened up his arms to welcome the kid in a nice hug. At least his bunny form kinda helped something. He cuddle the boy for a few moments before standing back up and saying his goodbyes, letting the kid keep the cloak as way to cheer him up Bon Bon wasn't going to stay with him longer. He had already turned around and had began walking away before Cole's mother stopped him.

"Mr. Rhodes?" He heard her say. Damnit, she knew who he was. He turned around. "Yes, Ma'am?"

"You don't look too bad as a bunny."

Tyson chuckled, saluting one last time.

    ...
    ...
    ...

    Maybe...maybe it wasn't too bad?
