~ Week 5 ~
This was it, the finale, now it came down to two. Art and Snow. Art could've easily predicted this from the start, they were the best looking after all. Art honestly thought he had the edge but he couldn't be certain. For the first time since he had got his takeover magic, he had doubted himself. Doubted his ability to win a competition about looks of all things, it was blasphemy. But it wouldn't last long.
The final competitions theme was costume, and that's wasn't just it. They had to do a performance, they're win would be based purely on audience reaction. The two stood on stage, Snow was wearing some gladiator costume which suited him surprisingly well. Art on the other had was going with desert prince, gold jewellery, exposed chest. It worked very well for him.
"So ladies we have our final too, and this has got to be the hardest choice we've ever had to make. So it all comes down to this, one final chance to wow us. Issaih you're first." Art walked off stage with the host. Turning to watch Snow do his thing. Art raised a brow as a microphone was wheeled out to hi, and within a few moments. The white haired guy began to sing, opera.
Art's jaw dropped, it was the last thing he expected. It was good, really good, but not exactly sexy. He looked over at the crowd and skimmed over the mesmerized expression, eyes glistening. Shit...
The crowd were melting. This wasn't good. How was he supposed to be that, Art couldn't sing like that. His act was good but good enough. He needed to spice it up.
As Snow's song ended, the audience broke into a tremendous applause. Art made his way onto stage, Snow's smug expression making him boil a little. The kid thought he had won, well not yet, it wasn't over.
"W-well, that's was...just beautiful... I mean... oh yes, umm for our second and final contestant, here's Artemis." The host brushed away a tear as she spoke, Art barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes. An assistant wheeled over a table full of blades. He looked at them, he needed something to win this, something that would wipe away all that mesmerizing beauty that Snow had allegedly provided. "Ladies and Gentlemen, My name is Artemis, and I will be perform a little knife throwing. But first, I need a brave assistant."
Hands in the crowd shot up, and Art pretended to look as he turned to look at his current enemy. "Issaih, excellent, what a great sport ladies and gentlemen."
He said holding his hand out dramatically as the curtain was pulled back to reveal Snow, looking confused. Of course he hadn't volunteered, but the audience wouldn't know that. Producers hustled Issaih onto the stage. "Now I would like a beautiful lady to assist me, and who better than Fiore's Next Top Model from our Women's competition,"
He had already convince Jeannette to come out and help him with his act earlier. She came out and just like the champion she was, she hadn't let Art's little change of plans affect her performance. "Can we attach Issaih to the wheel please?"
He called, thanking the skies he had managed to remember Snow's real name. Without hesitation Jeannette stepped to it, and although he really looked like he wanted to refuse. Issaih did, he was receiving screams of encouragement from his fans. That's exactly what Art had been counted on. "Now don't worry ladies, I assure you my opponent will be perfectly fine. I have never killed anyone doing this, only dismembered them."
He quipped, earning an unsure laugh from the crowd. Although he was trying to hide it, Snow was clearly looked unnerved. He indicated for Jeannette to beginning spinning the wheel Snow was attached to.
Art instantly focused, what people didn't know is he had been training with knives from a very young age. So young he couldn't remember not training with knives. His family affiliation with Weapon magic meant that they had tried hard to instil a connection to weapons in him. And although the magic never quite manifested, the skill remained. he began to launch knives at Snow. Landing them perfectly spaced between him limbs.
The crowd cheered with it successful landing, then after allowing them to think Snow was safe. Art threw knives closer, encouraging Jeannette to spin faster. He watched Snow tremble as a knife came dangerously close to his hip and left hand. The crowd gasped whenever it got too close for comfortable. Art's arms moved robotically like a knife throwing dance each move was smooth and delivered perfectly. Finally he had Jeannette stop the wheel, picking up five final daggers. "Jeannette, would you now blindfold me?"
The crowd whispered amongst themselves, was this a trick, could he really do that. She sauntered over and did what she was turned, the world around him become dark. He did a couple steps, turning in a circle. The crowd was silent waiting. Then suddenly he threw the knives, hearing the thud of each one as they hit the wheel. And smirked as Snow let out a little yelp of fear as they did. The blindfold was removed and everyone stared in shock as the knives had landed perfectly. One under each arm, one of either side of the neck and the final one just under her crotch. He was unscathed.
The audience exploded in applause, so loud in was deafening. Jeannette took Snow down from the wheel, Art strolled over. Taking Sow's hand in one, and Jeannette's in other, he did a bow. The other two following suit, although Snow was more pulled down than anything.
When the results were decided Art had no doubt about it, as they said his name as winner he just grinned. Taking the prize and smirking. This had definitely been more fun than he thought, he decided, as he left, Jeannette under his arm and prize money in hand.
