    Liberation of Slaves

Post by Elaine West on 19th June 2017, 9:09 am

It was later in the evening, the time when the sun just started to bend around the edge of the water and shrouded the whole town of Hargeon in reds, oranges and golds. If it weren't for the reason of her being there, she would have stopped to view the beautiful glow of the water. The reason she was here was due to the job that she had found pinned to the guild board; women were going missing all over Hargeon, kidnapped, rumours spread that they were being sold off to other people. It made her angry, she was from a small island far from Fiore, where things like this, things where her people would be taken for exotic reasons, was normal, for them to be sold off so easily. This is why she was so adamant on completing this mission, she didn't want these women to suffer the same fate as so many others before them.

She took a deep breath, she had very few leads about where things were going and how they were happening. She was near the docks as the sun dipped down bellow the water and the street lights came on. A white magic circle appeared bellow her as her armour changed from her casual sundress to her stealth armour; black pants that reached far passed her waist, a breathy white shirt tucked in, black heeled boots and a heavy black cloak. She pulled her long blonde hair into a ponytail and put the hood of the cloak over her head, guarding her eyes from the light of the streets. Equipping her Kings' Bow, a large white and gold bow, strung across her shoulders. The mark on her back itched, as it always became aggravated when she was in a position like this; itching for a fight.

She was as well suppose to meet with someone from another guild, someone who contacted her and explained their interest in the same mission. Cautious but accepting, she had told the new stranger to meet her at the docks at night. Together, hopefully they would be able to stop this trade in its tracks. She took a sharp inhale and leaned against a near by building, out of sight and waited for this new partner to arrive.

"To save a life, I must fight for more than Ideals."

    - Aemon

    " "
From up in the sky Aemon could see clearer then anyone on the ground just how marvelous the sun set truly was. Unfortunately the only thing that granted him the opportunity to view the sun from such a height was the very thing he detested, his dragon's wings. He would flap them with enough force to propel him forward and would then tuck the wings allowing him to cut through the air like a missile towards the port town of Hargeon located in the west. Typically he would go as far as to travel by foot just to avoid having to rely on his retched powers however he would have no such luxury on this day, time was as precious as life itself and for many that was the case. A job was pinned to the board of Infinity Hydra and it's completion was of the utmost importance. In Hargeon women have been going missing, gone without a trace and no word to where they had gone. Aemon was aware that the rune knights were sent in for a preliminary investigation and their findings were disturbing enough to disclose it to the guilds across Fiore. Evidently all of the women that were being abducted were also being subjected to being sold in some sort of sick human trafficking ring and the knights were now defer to wizards, mages to save the women being sold into slavery. The wings would flap again this time giving Aemon more of an upward lift letting him gain a more vertical position as began to lower himself down into the center of town. As soon as he was no less then five feet in the air he released his wings and dropped down onto the ground which caused the fabric around his waist to flow up and drape back down over the back of his legs.  Aemon would pat his arms letting some of the dust and moisture off his arms. He would look around and take in the area he was in and due to the numerous stands he was able to determine that he was in a market of sorts but that wouldn't do, he knew he must meet the mage he had contacted regarding this job. He was unaware of what she had looked like nor did he know her name his only information on this mage was that she was an archer of sorts not unlike himself and while that wasn't his magic he was still handy with his own bow and skills so coordinating with her he felt would be easier than most. Luckily he had given his partner a detailed description of himself, he was a tall male with a darker complexion with white colored hair slicked back with an attire that consisted of black pants with a pair of black boots attached to them with a matching black body armor covering his upper body with a red shroud covering his arms and upper torso with a red mantle attached to his belt. His attire and hair color would make him standout among the locals so spotting him would be easy enough.

Walking to the end of the street he located a sign that pointed further west down a long road that read  "Docks" and it made Aemon chuckle a bit, "That was unexpectedly easy." he would turn on his heels and walk down the street with his shoulders back in an upright posture. His strides were long thanks to his legs being as long as they were and the trip to the docks didn't take much time but the sun had fully set sending night across the sky and if his partner was as professional as he were with a bow she would stay hidden until he revealed himself. Aemon took the initiative to climb up on a nearby building and with an open hand materialized his own bow out and drew back on the string and looked down the bow as if he had an arrow knocked and ready to loose. This allowed his bow's ability to activate which enhanced his eye sight significantly and after scanning the area he noticed a person dressed head to toe in black leaning against the building off of the streets looking out at the docks. "This must be them." he would leap down and head out to the docks walking on the main way and would stop in the middle and look towards the buildings where his partner was hiding. "I am here. Shall we get this started?"

She looked up at the voice, startling her only slightly, when she brought her head up she was met with a man, several inches taller than her. Bright white hair, steeled visage even though his introduction seemed friendly enough. This must be him, the man from Infinity Hydra... She was obviously skeptical, someone from a different guild? A man she didn't know? So soon after her partner had left her too. She took a deep breath, pushing her hood back, revealing long blonde hair cascading down her shoulder and back, she craned her neck to get a better look at him. Her large brown eyes scanning over his face then briefly over the rest of his body as well. She narrowed her eyes slightly, still skeptical about whether to trust the boy; finally after several seconds of silence her eyes softened. She removed her bow and stood it next to her.

"My name is Elaine, Elaine West. I'm not really from here, but currently I am with Lamia Scale." She spoke, her voice was soft, slightly accented, but her words were cut off, almost frigid; which was not entirely her fault, she was trained from a young age to trust no one; punch first and ask questions later. She would hope that her new partner would introduce himself as well,  considering the only thing she knew about the man was his guild. "And yes, let's deal with this. Hargeon should not have to deal with such horrors." She pulled her hood back up over her head and grabbed her bow. "They have been loading women on the docks, late in the evenings and selling them off" She explained as she grabbed his wrist and began to pull him towards the docks; if he was following her, she would release his wrist, if not, she'd continue to drag him while looking in the other way. She paused and stopped him before the docks "There, the boats." She pointed to the small boat, loading women on. "Do you have a game plan?" She asked, crouching bellow the some of the crates.

"To save a life, I must fight for more than Ideals."

    - Aemon

    " "
Aemon didn't move an inch once he actually called out to the person who he assumed to be his partner, the person who was dressed completely in black, but while he kept his movements as minimal as possible he was prepared to move at a moments notice if this person turned out to be anything less then friendly. Judging by the height and the way the cloak rested on this person's shoulders he was able to determine that the cloaked individual was in fact a female which was the only thing that he could say he knew about his partner. He watched as she removed her hood to reveal her blonde hair and brown colored eyes which were locked onto him. She removed her bow and introduced herself as Elaine West, his contact and co worker on this job from the guild of Lamia scale. He would now finally move to face her now that he was one hundred percent certain she wasn't an enemy and gave a smile to her. "Ahh. Elaine. It's a pleasure to meet you, I am Aemon Trahaearn from the Infinity Hydra guild." once the introductions were cleared and out of the way she would agree that it was time to get to work and quickly brought her hood back up followed shortly by one hand lifting her bow while the other found its way around Aemon's wrist and began to lead him towards the docks reaffirming the information he was vaguely aware of,"Unfortunately for them and lucky for the women here tonight we will be putting an end to their operation." He would have normally pulled his arm away and followed the girls lead but he had no desire to chance anyone seeing them by his own actions so he instead let her lead and talk further. She had released her grip after a few feet of walking and would only stop when she did just before the docks but they were close enough to see the boats there pretty clearly.

She declared which boat was the one loading the "cargo" and he traced a line from her extended finger to the boat and narrowed his eyes while crouching down to keep the element of stealth on their side. Elaine had asked him if he had a plan on how to proceed from here. At the moment he didn't, he wasn't sure how they could get close enough without blowing their cover. He would look at her bow and then at her If we rain down arrows we could cause some damage. We would be skilled to avoid the women but if they set sail while we are at a distance could be problematic. he ran the number of different ways this could play out and one thing kept popping up as an idea but he wasn't sure if it were something that was probable. If we had one of us on the inside could wreck their plans from both the outside and inside. It's not the most desirable but it could work so he would pitch it to Elaine. "I might have a plan but it may not be something you are going to like." he would say scooting a little closer to so his whispers would be heard more clearly, "We could try to work out the timing from a distance and once they are about to set sail we could spring into action then, that way everyone who is involved is either on board on close enough to be taken out. Catch is if we act to hasty we could lose some of them and with the number of women on board that be more then enough in the ways of hostages to put a wrench in our plans." he would put his index fingers up about a foot apart. "However if we had one on the outside and one of us on the inside we could cut off both ends of their escape and prevent any of the women from being used against us." he would put his hands down and run his hand through his hair, "but between the two of us, I highly doubt I'd be getting anywhere near that ship. However if you were to "join" the ranks of the captured." he used his fingers to quote the word join since obviously she would be anything but a captured damsel. "With me putting a clear attack on their operation outside and you mucking it up from the inside we could probably kill two birds with one stone....but" he would look at her with his emerald eyes very calmly "If you'd rather us try our hand with a different infiltration tactic I am fine with that as well. Disabling the boat would be a must either way."

Elaine was slightly taken aback when he moved closer, instinctively she pulled herself away; she was never content with people being so close to her, though she realized that her immediate action may have been rude and leaned forward once more. She stood quietly as he pitched the two ideas. One; to follow the boat out to sea and intercept it. Thought she was quick to think of the ways it could go wrong, another boat waiting for them? Too many men? Could they get out to sea quick enough? She didn't enjoy the sounds of it, and promptly shook her head at the idea.

The following, was a stealth mission. Where the man, Aemon as he had introduced himself, suggested that she go and get herself caught, while he followed closely behind. She let out a low hum, running over the scenario. From the inside she could keep the women safe, she could better analyze the ship and the course they were taking, from there, they may be able to bring down the entire operation. She didn't realize she was staring at the ground until she brought her eyes back up and they were met with his emerald ones; determained and calm. She swallowed and let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Yes. Yes alright, let's do that...it will be simpler for both of us this way." She let out a small laugh, nothing more than the sound of a few small bells, "don't go letting me down? Ok, partner?" Followed by a barely visible smirk; the small girl felt cocky. Even though she knew that a mission so dangerous she should feel nothing more than caution.

She sat down behind the boxes, legs stretched out and her bow across her lap, a magic circle appeared beneath her. Changing her hidden appearance for something more 'damsel in distress'. A cream coloured sundress with a brown ribbon around the waist, her hair loosely tumbling down her shoulders and back. The dress just long enough to cover her guild mark on her thigh. She looked back up at Admin, "okay. Let's do this..." she stood up, tossing her bow to the ground, disintegrating into a white puff before it hit the ground, she walked towards the docks.

The two men posted outside the boat spotted her almost right away. They strode up to her easily, faking that they were lost a needed directions. Elaine turned her back to point past the docks into town when the grabbed her. She put up a type of 'struggle' before they bound her wrists and covered her mouth. Elaine was quick to send a glance of confirmation back to her partner before they threw her on to the ship, landing with the other women and blessing her with a bloodied knee and now, bruised wrists. Be quick Aemon, these women and I, we're counting on you.

"To save a life, I must fight for more than Ideals."

    - Aemon

    " "
Both of the plans that Aemon was able to come up with had been shared with Lamia Scale mage, the first was an attempt to snipe the slavers from a distance but that was the plan that could turn out to be the least successful with the second one having Elaine fake her capture and be brought on the inside with the rest of the captured women and while that might turn out the best he didn't know her well enough to expect her to accept the plan easily and he wasn't going to push the topic as he felt that it would require her to have serious trust and judging by the way she was looking down at the ground instead of looking at him caused him to speculate that either she was weighing her options or flat out disliked the second plan. "We can fi.." he was going to offer a new plan however Elaine's brown eyes left their focus on the ground and were now fixed on looking into Aemon's eyes and actually agreed to the plan much to his surprise, even stating that it would simple for the both of them. She would laugh and Aemon would match her laugh, "Simpler  you say? Considering what your role is in this plan that would be the last thing to expect you to say." he would say to her. Even he was starting to wonder if this was worth the risk, sure objectively it was more of a sure thing but now that the plan was a go he was feeling a bit more cautious about Elaine putting herself in danger but her words, her order and her request to not let her down finishing it with calling him partner gave some ease but only a small amount.

She sat down behind the crates with her bow across her lap and he would watch as a magic circle appeared under her and the contents under her cloak, he would assume her clothes began to glow and so he turned his head away to give her privacy to do her thing. She stood up and spoke to him informing him that it was time to go and he would turn in time to see her bow vanish in a plume of smoke and then his eyes would set on her. He smiled upon seeing her attire was no longer hidden by a cloak and she was now wearing a cream colored dress with ribbon fashioned around her and hair that was hidden by the hood of the cloak now lay loose behind her, "That's a stylish look for you." He still held onto his bow in his left hand and put his right hand in fist and placed it against his hip and would smirk, "I feel sorry for this being the occasion for you to dress like this. That look would be much more appropriate for a dinner. I feel sorry for the roughen that ruins such a nice dress." he said beating around the bush but would nod, "I'll have your back but all the same good luck partner."

While she started her stroll out into the docks for “extraction” he would materialize a quiver holding twenty five arrows all cursed with a very special ability that would be a nice surprise for those he fired upon. Knocking an arrow onto his bow he pulled back on the string fully drawing his arrow and holding it in place with his eye looking down the shaft of the arrow keeping his trained eye on Elaine who was approached by two burly men that were clearly apart of the crew and spoke to her. He couldn't hear what she was saying to them but she turned her back to them to point in a direction. He was aware of what she was doing, this was her play to get herself abducted seeing as how cautious she was with him upon their original meeting. She didn't see it but he could from his vantage point. The larger of the men moved on her first with the second one holding a length of rope, the first grabbed her hands and pressed them behind her while the second bound her wrists together. She put a fight and Aemon had almost released his arrow then and there but a deliberate glance from Elaine that didn't show any sign of fear but calmness, A calmness that was infectious and he was more calm and less anxious to drive an arrow through their hearts. "Can't blow the mission. Time to go" he said to himself as he went around to the back alley to begin his part of the plan however he came to a stop when he heard the sound of men talking to each other. Aemon slowed his pace and pressed his back against the wall of one of the large crates you'd typically find at a pier and peered around the corner to see a group of five men, two dressed similar to one another with just plain T-shirt and cargo pants while the other two had coats on with no sleeves each of them with a tattoo of an anchor the other had anchors with chains up the arm. Although this wasn't the only give away that they were part of the human traffickers, at the feet of one of them was a girl who was also bound and gagged similarly to Elaine however she was unconscious and they chatted among themselves."They must be part of the crew. Be a shame if they missed their boat." with there being a girl here it was likely the boat was waiting on them so it would be best to slow them down or better yet put them out. He would turn the corner and draw his bowstring back releasing a red arrow made from his mana into one of the lower ranking men driving it into the shoulder and knocking him on his ass. The other four would look at Aemon with deathly glares and he would simply smirk. " Time for you to learn your lessons.
