As the bright moonlight shone down upon the silent fields, everything was still. The only sound was the cool night breeze blowing the grass in the late hour. What a beautiful place, Mythica thought. Wasn’t it? Everything here was just so peaceful. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the green fields looked so elegant in the pale light of the moon. Possibly contradicting Mythical own views and opinions about the world’s beauty, and the only ways to witness it. That and the light of the sun was merely a shadow in comparison to the landscape that lay before the clock eyed mage. And here she was… Alone.

Wearing her usual school girl attire, the black haired girl would stroll through the rolling hills to her destination. It wouldn’t be long now. She had been employed to a simple, if not menial task. Or at least that would be the thoughts of most people. Even though this job was beneath Mythica, she had some spare time on her hands. Well, she usually always did. She was a completely free woman! Not shackled by the laws of the magic council, or the responsibilities of being a guild mage. Not now anyways, that would come later. For now, she had to enjoy whatever time she had, and this task would put her in the good graces of the locals as well as entertain the clock eyed mage. Or at least the good graces of a small collection of farmers. It seemed they’ve been having a business dispute with a colleague in the area, and they needed someone willing to put him in his place. Seemed easy enough.

It wouldn’t be long now until Mythica’s figure rose from the distant hills and she noticed the tiny light flickering in the field beyond. Upon closer inspection, she could tell this was the farmhouse of a certain farmer she had been searching for. Smiling, she’d continue her pace, skipping down towards barn outside. The animals were still up. Odd. She assumed most farmers would’ve put them to bed by now, but apparently not. Not that it mattered, they didn’t seem to take notice or care about the girl’s presence. Seemed they were obedient as well. Upon her walk, the animals would begin to be slightly unsettled, and move out of her path. She had her eyes on the barn doors.

Making sure no one was still around, Mythica would open the large barn and peer inside to see it wasn’t completely dark. There were multiple lanterns hanging from the posts scattered around the interior of the structure. She’d walk up to one of the lanterns and summon her musket. Gun in hand, she’d reach up and use the end of the rifle to hook the lantern’s handle off its own, and bring it down to her hand. However, her senses soon picked up a new presence. Turning towards the doorway, she saw a tall man dressed in a nightgown, holding a long hoe menacingly. She simply raised an eyebrow. “WHO DA HE-!”

The doors to the barn broke open as the farmer’s body was thrown through them. He rolled in the grass as Mythica silently walked out with a smile on her face, gun in one hand, and a lantern in another. She’d simply lean down next to the weakened farmer and placed the lantern gently next to him. Standing up, Mythica took aim and fired! The lantern shattered with the magical bullet, and the flames engulfed the surrounding grass! The farmer began screaming in pain as the fire started to sear his flesh, but Mythica paid no mind to it. She’d simply turn with the weapon on her shoulder, walking away from the scene as the entire farm caught fire and burned behind her into the night...
