    Weapon and Magic damage. And with the rules, as I read them it was the weapon damage itself was limited while the abilities/spells grew with the mage. I could be wrong but thats what I read.

    Yup so typically in the ability rank slot you'd put:

    Rank: User ranked up until __ which is the maximum rank the weapon can go to, I believe for artifact it's... S-Rank? But you can double check me on that!.
