    "Hey lassie, I dont mean to be rude, but it be closing time." the man said in a strange accent. "But I just got here." came the nasally response. "Yah aren't from around here, aren't yah?" the man shook his head and gestured at the other patrons who are leaving the pub. "Notice they be leavin in pairs or in groups?" The stranger raised her brow and said "Yeah, what about it?" The man explained the situation to her, but the expression on her face didn't change a bit. "Lets just say im here because of that, was hoping to get leads on where I might find him." The man examined the woman in front of him, he could hardly believe that such a fine looking lass was a bounty hunter. "Yah chose the wrong profession lassie, and as fer the leads yah were looking fer, yah dont need one. Yah dont have ta find him, he finds you."

    She still cant believe she got kicked out of the bar, the bartender even gave her a bottle of rum just so she would leave. She really cant blame the man, fear had gripped the tiny community. The alleys she walked were brightly lighted, but not a single soul was out. Nearby establishments were closed and every home had their windows and doors tightly shut, it was eerily quite. With nowhere to go, she decided to go to the docks, at least there the lulling howls of the sea will keep her amused while she drinks off the rest of the contents of the bottle she had been chugging down as she walked.

    When she got to the docks the scenery changed , far from the populace the surroundings was darker, there were some streetlights but the light they give off were dull, barely enough to illuminate 5 meter around it. Probably because there were barely any buildings around, and with the boats tied securely, there weren't any reason to brighten up the whole place.

    She approached the wharf and sat at one of the benches that can be found there and took another gulp from the bottle. For a brief moment she felt at peace watching the dark horizon, it was as if she was staring at a deep chasm and oddly it soothes her little dark heart. But alas, that moment was not meant to last, for not far from her a shadowy figure drew closer and closer.

    The sound of chains jingling grew closer and closer. She turned around and spoke out "You know, you could be a more efficient killer if your weren't that loud." It seems the serial killer didn't even care for her remark for he kept on marching towards her. As the man stepped into the dim lights, Alleria got a glimpse of her prey. The man was tall and big,exactly like the wanted poster said and here she was thinking they might have exaggerated a bit. If she were a normal person she might have run away by now, the man carried a large meat cleaver, a carving knife, and a nasty meat hook on a chain, who wouldn't runt away from that, but Alleria stood her ground. She needed this so there's no backing down now.

    "So are we just gonna stare lovingly at each other eyes big boy or are we gonna get it on?"

    Alleria was stunned, who knew that this lumbering giant was light on his feet. After provoking the giant, the man wasted no time and hurled the meat cleaver her way. Like a boomerang it fly trough the air. She managed to dodge the preliminary salvo but what the man did next took her by total surprise, for as the she was busy dodging the flying projectile, the man threw the chain bound meat hook at her while running at full speed towards her. She did avoid the devastating impact of the meat hook but the sheer force caused the chain attached to it to ricochet and whip her right into the mad man's not so loving arms.

    Alleria curled up a few meters away from the man, though trying to fight of the pain, a few moans of pain still escape her lips. The man had done some real damage. This was her punishment for taking magic less enemies lightly. She tried to get up but failed to do so, her feet was still shaky, the loss of blood was making her weak and woozy. A loud noise jolted her out of her current state, the man just yanked out the meat hook from the ground and was charging at her again with the intent of impaling her with it. Instincts took over and the red cursed mark appeared on her forehead and like on auto pilot she casted the available spell that can save her hide right now. A  language forgotten by time drifted through the air, invoking the most dreaded fear of those around who hear it.

    An old woman appeared before the man, the man continued his march towards Alleria, but as the woman lifted her head to face the man, Jacob Goodnight froze on his tracks. His face was turned pale and whatever he was holding was now long gone, dropped upon his feet. The woman reached out her arms towards the giant and was forcefully yanked towards her where she wrapped her arms around him. The man tried to speak but no words came out, he wanted to push the old woman away but his body wouldn't obey his commands. The woman's hands shifted from its embrace and wet towards his face bringing it upon hers. But the face that belonged to the homely old woman was now replaced by that of a decomposing corpse whose face was was split open. The hands caressing his face was now riddled with worms and parts where the bone was exposed. The specter drew her face towards his ears and said "There there my boy, everything's going to be alright now."

    Alleria who was recuperating from her injuries tried her best to get up. The wounds have clot up but they still sting like hell whenever she tried to move. She limped her way towards the serial killer who was lost in his own thoughts, battling with what ever demon he was harboring. Time was of the essence and she had to make her move fast before her spell wears off. With barely enough magical power, she decides to use her trusty sword to finish the job.

    A magic rune appeared before her, she reached inside and as she withdrew it, her hand was already clutching a sword. "Ok Jacob, time to say goodnight."

    "Hey lassie, are yah alright?" a familiar voice had woken her out of her sleep. It was already morning and people have gathered around them. Last thing she remembered was swinging the sword at the serial killer. Perhaps the blood loss and exhaustion had finally taken out. And she was alive meaning she must have done what she had set out to do. And indeed, a few feet away from her was Jacob Goodnight, blood caked his clothes, his eyes were open but the expression on his face was blank, like all sanity had left him. And just like on cue the rune knights came and hauled the catatonic killer off along with the injured mage.

    "So your sure you have no idea why he is like that?" the rune knight asked her for the nth time. "Im positive, all I did was disable him by severing his joints." The officer was still doubtful of her words but she did them a favor by doing that to that vile scoundrel. The citizens of Hargeon can again sleep soundly at night. The man handed Alleria a satchel and said "Once again thank you for doing us a solid, by the way here's your bounty." She happily accepted the reward and bid the officer farewell.
    As she was about to leave the officer ran after her and said "Wait miss, haven't i seen you somewhere?" She looked over to the wanted list and smiled "I don't think so, I guess I have one of those faces that's too common. Well officer I don't mean to be rude but i have a train to catch so tah-tah."

    Once outside the station she put the satchel filled with jewels to her pocket where another item was hidden, an orb containing another soul for her collection.
