Job Description:
Mrs Hammelten's puppy ran away from home. Last time their butler saw puppy running toward spooky forest. Save the puppy before vulcans do anything to him.
Enemies: Weak- Weak vulcans.
Normal/Strong/Boss- Strong vulcan.
Reward: 1,200 Jewels

The sun was out and even so the cloud cover seemed unmoving from the Spooky Woods as he approached it. The sun seemed to shine bright and warm everywhere except that one dark forest. He was wearing his usual Black trench coat, he wore his half unbuttoned deep red silk shirt, his well worn jeans and a pair of deep tan open topped boots. His white scruffy hair fell over his face covering his deep red eyes that shone bright in the hot sunlight.

Peep was hovering next to him as he approached the edge of the forest where he was greeted by the Butler who was awaiting his arrival outside of a horse drawn carriage holding an umbrella. "Are you the boy my lady has been waiting for?" The butler chimed in a posh crisp voice as Naziel approached. Naziel reached the gentleman who wore a black butlers uniform and white gloves. "Pleased to meet you, I'm here on behalf of Sabertooth, I've come to find the puppy for you." Naziel gave a warm smile. The Butler looked him up and down; "Well you will do I suppose." He huffed with a light sneer as Naziel narrowed his eyes.

Naziel shuffled a bit in discomfort at the Butler's words but brushed them off without a second thought; " Well anyway... Where was he dog last seen?" The butler pointed towards the woods; "It was seen running in there and well, we do not have the capabilities of reclaiming Edgar from the forest ourselves... There would be beasts there and no place for a lady at all!" The Butler was making this look more and more like a performance than a mission briefing as Naziel sighed to himself; "Don't worry about it, I'll bring him back safe and sound... You say the Dog's name is Edgar?" He heard Peep snigger for a second before shooting him a glance to which he looked away and began picking daisies.

Naziel stuck his hands in his pockets as the butler pulled forward a picture of the small dog it was a Terrier of some kind, brown in color with a white bone shaped mark in its fur on its left back end. Naziel pulled his hand from his pocket to take the picture and exam it; " I'l find him don't worry. Come on Peep." With that the duo walked past the carriage and into the mysterious woodland in front of them.

Naziel led the way followed shortly by Peep as they entered the dark woodland, the trees were twisted and deformed, most seemed to be dead or dying with nearly no leaves on the ones that were clinging onto life. The grass was faded and covered with dead or deep brown leaves. It truly was a god forsaken place, whatever madness had driven this dog into the woods was clearly stupidity as even Naziel felt uncomfortable walking through such a place.

"Stay close to me Peep alright? We have no idea what is in this place and I sure don't feel like finding out anytime soon." Peep jumped up and sat on Naziel's shoulder looking out for anything. That was when Naziel could hear some rustling up ahead as he slowed his pace to a walk when he heard what sounded like a growl. He walked forward hoping to see a puppy but instead found an entrance to a Badger hole from which the growls were emanating. "We'd better move on, we don't need Badgers getting angry on us, we just gotta find this damn dog and get out of here." He sighed as Peep shook his head from side to side.

"Why do we have to go looking for some dumb stinking dog huh? Couldn't we have picked another job?" Peep whined as he looked out for anything moving in the shadows of the trees. The further the duo went into the forest the darker it appeared to get, constantly on the look out and with shadows darting around them it was causing a great feeling of unease.

"It's simple, we couldn't pick another job because the others were otherwise taken. If it was up to me we'd find something a bit easier but currently we can't so there's no point us trying to whinge about it..." Naziel lifted his arm to scratch Peep behind the ear before he thought he heard what sounded like barking far off. Naziel's eyes widened as he set off into a sprint; " Peep! This way! Hurry!" He shouted as he pair took off towards the noise. Naziel prayed this was the dog that they had been sent to retrieve, he hated the idea of anyone being stuck in such a place scared and alone but he also wondered how horrible it must be to be forced to run to such a place where there is nobody.

Naziel soon approached the noise as they entered a clearing and there sat Edgar looking rather miserable but none the less safe. Naziel breathed a sigh of relief to have found the Dog with such ease and unharmed; "That's good, at least he's safe... Come on boy, we're taking you home!" Naziel moved to pick up the dog when it turned tail and bolted into the woods once more; "Hey get back here you damn flea ball! Come on Peep!" Naziel shouted as he gritted his teeth. Naziel was never fond of Dogs, he wondered if it was due to the amount of time that he spent with Peep or merely because Peep talked and didn't need to be treated like a pet. Either way the irritating sound of the dog barking seemed to get further away when Naziel could see the mischievous Puppy for a second before it took a sharp left and dived into a bush and then went silent.

Naziel charged forward and called out repeatedly; " Edgar... Edgar where are you?" He listened closely using his Dragon Slayer hearing and smell to see where the dog had ventures off too but there was nothing. except. The distinct smell of something he had grown to despise. Vulcans. Ge took a guess that they could have snatched the dog as it darter into the woods and most like it would be kept as a pet but none the less time was running out.

Naziel used his keen Dragon Slayer sense of smell to sniff about the area he heard the barking stop until he looked up into the trees to see twist marks on the branches. " So you escaped through the trees huh? Clever monkeys... Peep can you go up high and see if you can see any movement of the trees in any direction?" Peep nodded with a smile as he sprouted his wings and bolted up through the tree line and out of the top of the canopy. Naziel stood below looking around for any clues at too how many Vulcans were here and if they were alone.

Peep bolted back down and looked at Naziel determined; " Looks like they went that way Nazzy! seems like a few of them too! The branches were blowing like this!" Peep then proceeded to wave his paws around frantically and blow through his mouth trying to resemble the wind. Naziel smiled as Peep bobbed into his arms as the pair took off running once more; " Good job buddy! We'll catch them at this rate! I even can smell them slightly now!" Naziel's eyes narrowed as a smirk swept across his face with a sense of achievement.

Naziel could hear the sound of trees creaking under the strain of heavy bodies and the tiny whimpers of a very scared puppy as he continued to charge forward unwilling to let the poor defenceless puppy be thrown around like a toy just for some Vulcans to have some fun; " We gotta stop them Peep... We can't let that puppy suffer!" Naziel gritted his teeth as he felt the power in his legs, arms and chest. The adrenaline was pumping and pushing his body to move faster, harder.

Eventually they came to a cross roads and stopped for a moment as the Dragon Slayer looked down each path wondering which way the Vulcans could have taken Edgar. The decision could not afford to be a light one. If they did not hurry Edgar's fate could well lie in the balance. " Dammit!" He shouted as he sniffed the air for a moment and closed his eyes purely focussing on his sense of smell to guide them to their prize. Eventually he opened his eyes as his pupils sharpened and he charged down the left route; " The smell is stronger this way." He merely prayed that the monsters would not lead him astray in this miserable place.

The heat regardless of the cloud cover was beginning to get close to unbearable. Naziel looked around for signs of the Vulcans and the came to another opening where he was confronted by five Vulcans, all seemed to be admiring the small puppy, they appeared to have no intention of harming it yet. Merely passing it from one to another with mild interest at what the little dog was doing here. Naziel gritted his teeth as he let out a small cough.

None of the Vulcans turned but they all appeared to continue passing around the puppy to pet it. Edgar seemed completely terrified by the sensation as he easily fit into the palm of each Vulcan in turn. Naziel clenched his fists as he gritted his teeth; " Hey... I think you have something that belongs to me..." He spoke in a deep serious voice as the Vulcans slowly turned to look at Naziel whislt still holding the Puppy. Naziel slowly out reached his arm in a sign to hand the puppy back; "I'll be taking him thank you." His eyes narrowed as the wind gently blew. The Vulcans smirked as the five monsters looked at one another and with a nod Edgar was launched into the air.

'Monster Dice' :

Naziel's eyes opened wide with shock as he gasped; " Peep! Save Edgar now!" He shouted as Peep took off at full speed. Naziel launched himself forward in a charge as the Vulcans braced themselves with the oncoming mage. Naziel slammed his fists togeather as the magic circle formed showing the face of the dragon; " Water Dragon Pressure Fist!" As his hands pulled apart highly pressurized water surrounded them as it spiralled up his arms. With one final launch and anger in his eyes he slammed his fist into the first Vulcan knocking two of the others back with it as the two that were missed looking over in shock as their three counterparts slammed into a tree clearly dazed.

The Dragon Slayer slid, spinning on his foot to come from underneath one of the two remaining Vulcans and driving his fist hard into the creatures stomach as it cried out in pain as the remainder grabbed Naziel by his jacket and grabbed him tight lifting him to eye level of the Vulcan as it squeezed Naziel felt his side being to ache before throwing his head backwards then straight onto the last Vulcans head as it released its hold Naziel let out a deep relieved sigh as well as coughing a few times; " Bastard."

Naziel felt himself gasping for air as he looked up seeing Peep holding Edgar in his arms; " Good job buddy now take cover quick!" Peep nodded and dived behind a tall tree and took shelter. Naziel looked down to be met with the fist of a Vulcan as it smashed into his face he spiraled backwards into the dirt, kicking himself back up onto his feet before spitting out a mouthful of blood. " Now "that was just playing dirty monkey boy!" He growled as he saw the Vulcan move for a second attack Naziel dived in taking to the air before clenching both fists and bringing them both down upon the Vulcans skull as he heard a crunch the beast fell to the floor knocked out. There was a cry from one who had hit the tree as it charged forward whilst another took to the air; " Crap!" Naziel smashed his fists togeather once more producing another magic circle; " Water Dragon Whirlpool Lash!" He cried as two 8 foot lashes of water spiraled from his arms in front of him.

As the airborne Vulcan began to position itself Naziel ducked as the other tried to drive to sole of its foot into Naziel's chest. The Dragon Slayer barely managed to move before spinning on the ball of his foot; " Hyaaaaa!" He cried as he threw his whip around the airborne Vulcans waist before pulling down with all of his strength watching the two beast crash heavily into each other as they gave a dazed sigh Naziel turned to face the two remaining who appeared to be more convicted than their friends.

Naziel stood panting as the two Vulcans moved togeather, Naziel aimed his whips put as he sent it forth the Vulcan caught it with a sinister grin. Naziel's face and eyes widened with shock and horror as the beast gripped tight and began to spin Naziel slamming him into trees and the ground until he finally let go and Naziel slammed into the ground breathing heavily. He could feel blood falling down his face along with the wounds upon his chest and arms, including a sharp splinter coming out of his hand.

The Vulcans began cheering and whooping as Naziel slowly pushed himself up from the ground spitting out a mouthful of blood with a painful smirk; "I'm not done yet you bastards!" He shouted as he gathered his energy and jumped into the air as the Vulcans prepared themselves. A magic circle appeared around Naziel's chest as he took a deep breath; " Water Dragon Ocean Spray!" With a trumentous explosion a torrent of water exploded towards the Vulcans like torrential rain moving with unbelievable velocity. As it hit the Vulcans cried out as the water was burning hot. 90*C to be precise. The Monsters cried out in pain as the water poured down on them as Naziel landed taking a knee. He pushed himself up whilst pulling the giant splinter from his hand as the beasts cried out agonised. " Water Dragon Talons!" One last magic circle appeared on his legs as they became encased in high pressure water shaped like scales and talons on each end. He charged forward even though his body cried otherwise as he jumped once more and with one painful shout and swing of his leg the beasts were slashes across the chest as sent flying into a collection of trees that sent them toppling.

Naziel stood panting as his foes laid scattered around the trees and bushes. Peep stuck his head out as did Edgar. Naziel fell to one knee as he breathed deeply before pushing himself up as Peep brought Edgar to Naziel who took him in his arms. " You run off again and get me in this mess again..." Naziel patted the Dogs head as the blood flowed from his wounds but was slowly being held in by the water that was beginning to cover his wounds.

Naziel took some deep breaths and was thankful that the fight was over, even though their intelligence was not great the Vulcans are an exceptionally strong race and can easily maim a foe should they see them a threat. Taking on five in most peoples eyes was just plain stupid but hey, Naziel enjoyed a challenge every once in a while and after all he helped to save an innocent life from certain peril. " Lets get you back home shall we? I'm sure you've had enough excitement for one day huh little guy?" Naziel smiled with his one eye closed as they began to slowly walk back towards the sunlight and cleanliness outside of this woodland.

the three walked back towards the sun and slowly began to see the trees seem more alive. As alive could be in such a horrific place. Eventually a ray of sunshine shone through and warmed Naziel's aching body, he knew full well that he was going to have to get patched up at some point but that would have to wait. He stroked Edgar's head gently as he seemed content sitting in Naziel's arms. He looked down at Peep who was walking looking up at the Dragon Slayer and puppy with some form of jealousy; " Hey Peep I'm thinking I might get one what you think?" He smirked knowing it would wind Peep up; " Don't you dare Nazzy! Don't you Dare! I'm your only partner you got me and no puppy or girlie is going to change that you got that you meanie!" Peep screamed as he folded his arms now clearly having a tantrum as Naziel laughed contently; " I'm just kidding buddy, I wouldn't trade you for the world, understand?" He smiled at Peep who in turn smiled back with a little giggle. Eventually the trio reached the edge of the woods where the Carriage was stood waiting with the obnoxious Butler still stood outside.

Naziel finally reached the carriage where the Butler look horrified at the state of Naziel, covered in blood, splinters and one eye closed and bruised; " What... On earth... Happened?" The Butler stuttered with a look of complete terror in his eyes; " Well some Vulcans wanted Edgar for a toy so I took him back..." Naziel grinned as he carefully handed the puppy over with a final pat before the Butler opened the carriage door and placed Edgar inside.

"Well I am surprised... I didn't expect such shinanigans especially from one suchas yourself." The Butler huffed; " Well you wanted him back so I got him back, Shinanigans or not that puppy gets to live another day and be happy. Be thankful for that, not the state that I returned in." Naziel gritted his teeth as his aura and one good eye narrowed. " Well... I... I shall let the guild know of your payment." Naziel dropped his anger and gave a warm smile; " Thank you, I wish you all the best and shall take my leave." With that Naziel gave a small bow before limping off with Peep at his side as the sunlight now gave warmth and comfort to a battered and tired body.

Naziel began walking and felt him muscles scream as the adrenaline wore off, he had to stop to catch his breath, had he really been beaten around that badly? He felt as though he wanted to fall to the ground and sleep! Everything began to spin as he sat down for a moment everything that he had done to save that one life had cost him in magic and in physical beatings as he sat for a moment; " Peep lets just relax here for a moment alright buddy?" Peep stared at him for a moment before pulling a cookie from his pocket; " Have a cookie..." He smiled as Naziel gracefully accepted the cookie he broke half off and gave it too Peep who grinned happily and began to nibble away at it.

"We did a good thing Peep, it sure is a nice feeling knowing we get to help people, even if they are pretty stuck up. I can't believe that Butler talking about appearances when i'd just kicked those Vulcans' asses for Edgar... But... He's a good pup and seemed to be happy to be out of there in one peace, can't say I blame him... It just reminds me of... Alexander..." He paused for a moment remembering the news that had been thrown at him that he was not completely alone. He had two remaining members of family and one of them had kicked him seven ways from sunday. " Oh well... Guess that's family for ya!" Naziel grinned feeling a bit healthier as he got to his feet and continued onward.
