Job Description: The Reaper King: “We're nearing a turning point in our efforts. We need to turn up the pressure; Major Heracles of the Rune Knights is visiting his home town of River Village. I want you to assassinate him, you don't have to fight him head on. In fact I wouldn't recommend it, but it would be quite impressive if you did, it'd also be a great show of our power. In any case at the end of the day, Major Heracles needs to be dead. ”

chelvaric was sitting against a tree outside of the river city. He was wearing his white t-shirt and a sleeveless jacket over it . The hood of the jacket was covered in fur. On his arms he had armbands where feathers where hanging on. He was wearing his hoodie over his head as he was a wanted mage. He agreed on this job to work together with one of his new guild mates. he wondered how he or she was like. Were all the mages out of the guild evil or where there mages like him who needed to do some evil but eventually carry out the law. “finally we gone kill some people.”, the demon chelvaric said. “they are rune knights I won’t kill them only our target.”, chelvaric thought back. He took out one of his sigys and lighted it. he took a deep breath and blew it out. he sensed his surroundings to know if any of the people down the city were coming up. He only felt his own breathing. He saw a lot of tents around the city that was fully build on the river. It wasn’t that big maybe 20 houses. The underside of the city was totally made out of wood. Then he caught the smell of his partner. So it’s the demon slayer I am lucky it seems. He taught as he leaned back waiting on her.

Naraku had been sent on this mission before. However, in the middle of it her partner had vanished and Naraku had been forced to run. If her opponent had been a user of dark type magic she would of risked it, possibly. However, her opponent had been a fire type mage who severely outclassed her. So she had left and now she was back here. Her partner was the newest member of the guild. A former rune knight. She wondered how he would feel attacking his old comrades. If he refused she would gladly kill them. She had no fondness for rune knights. In truth she had no grudge against them, but those who stood in her way would die. That was the simple truth of the matter.

She walked towards him, hidden entirely in the shadows. By sight he would not see her, unless his sight was enhanced, but by smell he may do so. She prefferred to stay out of sight as much as possible. Particularly for a mission such as this. The target would likely be on the alert after the last attempt. This would be the last chance they had to succeed. If they failed it was unlikely his guard would be low enough to allow for any assasination attempts.

"Chelvaric." she said simply as she stepped from the shadows next to him. "I'm Naraku and this..." she waited a few seconds after making a come here gesture and a white wolf made his way to them. "...is Fluffy." The niceties were done. "Got any plans to get to the target and kill him?"

chelvaric looked up as the demon slayer came out of the shadows. Normally he wouldn’t know she was there but he sensed peoples breathing around him so he had felt and smelled her coming. He got up and looked at his guild member. She had blond wavy hair up to her waist. She had long boots and gloves on. The rest of her body wasn’t as covered up. She only wore a small skirt and only some pink fabricate to protect her chest. Chelvaric didn’t see any scars on her body. Hmm strange maybe she’s better then him. As chelvaric touched the scar over his right eye. she introduced herself as naraku. He saw a dog like creauture coming up to them. She introduced it as fluffy.

Chelvaric his eye's glowed a bit and he stepped back from the creature. “that creature isn’t a dog is it.”, chelvaric said but then he remmemberd he had to stay calm this is a guild mate. She asked if he had any plan to get to their target. “hmm we could make a commotion on one of the sides of the town and so draw all rune knight to there. They only will leave a light guard on the other side. That’s general procedure of the rune knights. Or another option is that I fly us both in the middle of the village and sneak our way to the general.”, chelvaric said while he was still keeping the dog like thing in his vision.

"I'm a demon, boy." the wolf growled sensing the animosity. Naraku placed a hand on the wolf's head and the wolf shook it irritably, but stopped growling. Naraku was glad. She didn't want a fight starting just yet. The two options that had been outlined had merits, but the first had a major flaw.

"Problem with causing a distraction is that the general might go to handle it or guess it is just a distraction and be more on the alert." she said slowly. Rune knight procedure wasn't her speciality. Someone with inside knowledge was useful. "The latter is the biggest worry. We don't want him knowing we are coming, he is likely on high alert as it is." There was a slight note of bitterness in her voice. It was her fault he was on high alert. Well, sort of. If it hadn't been for her partner ditching then she might of succeeded. However, now she got to see a guild member in action so it was useful. They'd seen Fluffy last time if she remembered correctly so using him as a distraction wouldn't work either.

"I can fly myself and Fluffy in." she said having decided what to do. "We get onto the roofs and use as little magic as possible as we approach. Between the three of us finding him shouldn't be hard." Yes, using little magic would be a wise choice. They didn't want a sensor type mage to detect them. "We find where he is, sneak in and take him out. If we are spotted we kill before they raise the alarm. Agreed?"

The dog like creature started to speak and said it was a demon. Chelvaric became calmer when he heard that. a normal demon huh no worries then. He was glad or his first job would have been complicated. Still he wouldn’t come to close to the demon. He blew a cloud of smoke out and heard Naraku’s plan. She had a point in saying that they would be more on alert if they would make a commotion. It would be tuff to take a general out as it was. She then said he was already on high alert as it was. What? He wondered how he knew they were coming already.

He wasn’t really surprised when she said they would flew themselves in. he already thought the flying was a general demon slayer ability. She said they would use as less magic as possible to be not detected. “okay I will only use the magic I need for the wings”, he said. He wouldn’t kill the normal rune knights tough he would just knock them out with pain.

He fell on his knees and his hands. It was so painful but it started to soften each time he used it. “sky demon wings”, chelvaric says. His back bursts open and 2 wings come out. the wings are made of flash and bone the bottom side are made out of air. His clothes repaired them self as he received them from the demon specially for this. He looked if naraku was ready and then jumped in the air. They flew through the night towards the roofs of the houses.

Naraku lifted up the wolf into her arms and then without even making a gesture or anything began to rise into the air. This was an inherent ability of wind magic, the ability to fly. She had once had a spell like Chelvaric's, but not anymore. There was no need. "Chelvaric, you know Rune Knights. If you were the target where would you be right now?" she asked as she flew upwards, gaining a large amount of height. They would have to fly above and land quickly and silent to prevent being spotted. The closer they could get to the target's actual location before landing the better, but she wouldn't risk flying the whole way in case of detection. Her method of flying used a very small amount of magic power, but enough that a skilled sensor would be able to detect her if she got too close.

"The plan is to land a couple of building's away and then roof jump the rest." she said explaining her plan in a little more detail. "But if your flight isn't using any more magic power then you can land on the actual building and do some recon." That seemed like the wisest move. This was not normally Naraku's style. She prefferred to kill as many as possible and cause as much pain as possible. However, she was restraining herself because she wasn't a fool. An A rank mage would easily be able to handle the pair of them unless they were very careful. "We get close and we hit him with our strongest attacks at the same time."

Chelvaric saw how naraku just floated with the demon in her arms. Impressive ,so she uses wind magic. I wonder how it tastes but that are things for later first this job. She asked where they would hide him. “that little shed next to the building with the bar sign. It’s not a real shed it’s an illusion I recognize it from the trainings.”, chelvaric said to naraku as he pointed to the building. The little shed was probably a big building. “they normally will keep 2 body guard units around the building. That’s what I did when I was body guard for the generals.”, he said to her. “yes it doesn’t give any magic energy off anymore I’ll go scout ahead I see you there.”, chelvaric said and he flew off.

He was looking at the ground to see if there were any guards looking up the sky. There were running a lot of guards around but he didn’t see any looking up in the air so he dived down like a bird. The wind was sheering around him he felt great. And just before he was going to crash In to the building he opened his wings and came flapping on the roof. He ducked on his knees and searched around. He saw the shed next to him but he couldn’t realy distinguish any enemy’s or guards. There probably cloaked to.

Ah yes, Illusionists. She remembered them from her last attempt. They had hid quite a sizeable number of troops as everyday objects to try and overpower them. Of course, as this was Naraku, they didn't last long. The only real threat was if there was a sizeable number of mages. Last time there had been maybe four illusionists and about eight elemental mages. The rest had all been low ranking rune knights with little magic to speak of. The two of them had cut through those numbers like a hot knife through butter. She suspected, and her instincts were normally correct, that there would be a higher amount of mages and probably more rune knights. Numbers really were the issue because alone the only threat was the target himself.

Naraku landed on a roof a fair distance from the 'shed' and placed Fluffy down. They would wait here for Chelvaric to return with his report. They were using no magic whatsoever now. All they could do was wait, hidden behind some chimneys, which her shadow sense told her were not enemies in disguise. The building itself being disguised was irritating to say the least. They needed to find the illusionists and break the illusion. However, that would reveal themselves. She wished D'Nalsta was here. He could of done something epic to break the illusions or something. The only other option was to hope the illusion was only for the outside and once they were in everything would seem normal. She'd heard of something like that before. A tower which from the outside appeared to be half a mile high but from the inside was about 20ft tall.

"Picking up any scents?" she asked Fluffy as she too sniffed the air. Definitely illusionists about that she was certain, even without the shed. Though it seemed they were combining powers once more to disrupt more than one or two senses, the maximum most could do. Yes, it was likely they had at least three mages. One for each of the important senses. Sight, sound and scent. They wouldn't need to disguise taste or touch, though as smell affected taste so much they might also be disguising that just in case. Touch could also be being disguised, though that seemed overkill. However, if it was then that meant that any object they touched could really be an enemy.

Fortunately, they would not be aware of all of her magic, or Chelvaric's for that matter. So it was unlikely they would be able to disrupt her shadow sense ability.

"Lots of scents, but they are mixed too heavily." the storage demon replied. She nodded in agreement. Hopefully, Chelvaric would have some way of detecting them.

Chelvaric focused and tried to sense any breathing to determine how many enemy’s there were. He could feel the breathing of 5 people around the shed. Those were probably the patrols. He expanded the search and felt around 19 people in the shed. There were around 15 people that were gathered in one room. And 4 shattered trough the building. Just like he thought 2 squads and a couple of extras. He couldn’t feel any more people so he should better go back and report. He looked around and then crawled over the roof.

He jumped to the next roof and stayed behind the chime’s to look around. He saw some guard’s passing and waited a bit. The guards looked like rookie rune knights. No magic yet just sword fighting. Those would be easy to deal with. They had passed and chelvaric jumped to the next roof. There would be squad captains so for 24 people. There should be 4 captains, 5 rune knights under 1 captain. Those would be harder they could use magic. He jumped to the next roof. He landed near but one of the roof tiles fell on the ground and broke. He duck as deep as he could and looked around. But it seemed he was lucky no guard had noticed it. he walked over the roof and stopped near naraku. “good to see you made it. well they got 24 people near the shed. 4 captains and 20 normal rune knights.”, he said and paused for a moment. “there 5 patrolling around the building the rest are in side. I don’t think it will be much of a problem to take them out and get inside without them knowing it.”, chelvaric said and then waited for her reply on what to do.

'Monster Dice' :

When Chelvaric returned and outlined the amount of people he had detected she was sceptical. "Are you sure?" she asked. That seemed far too few, even for such a small area. She had suspected the target to be on higher alert. "We know he has illusionists working for him, could you have missed any?" If he was certain he hadn't then this would be a lot easier than she thought. Much, much easier in fact. Five on patrol, fifteen guarding and then an extra four who could use magic, also guarding. Heck, if that's all it was Fluffy could handle it solo. Well, he could if they didn't care about not being detected. She really wished detection wasnt an issue then she'd just go and rip these guys apart.

"The patrols we can probably pick off one by one." she said half to herself, but loud enough so he could hear. "The ones guarding the building will be trickier to take out without raising the alarm." Taking out nineteen people would be simple. Doing it without detection at all, that was tricky. Needle storm, her favourite spell, would likely cause too much noise. Same for shadow flower and tendrils. If only she'd developed her domain technique to cancel out external sound as well as sight. Then again the magic power used for that might raise alarms. So very tricky.

"Any ideas former rune knight?" the wolf asked casually. A former rune knight should know procedures so should be able to come up with a better plan than someone whose only knowledge was how pretty there uniforms looked stained with blood.

chelvaric looked at naraku as she doubted a bit because they were so few of them. “well we were never really trained for people coming from the sky. Now to think of it that’s a huge flaw.”, chelvaric said. That was true people could come from the sky. But in there training they always came over land. Still he sensed only 24 people. And there was one thing bugging him actually. Why didn’t he felt the general’s breathing. Yes he couldn’t really know who’s breathing was who. But it wouldn’t make sense otherwise.

“now to think off I don’t think I felt the general. So maby there are more people in hiding under the building. My sensing doesn’t work so good trough earth.”, he said. She responded that they could easily take out the patrol one by one but not the people inside. And there was still the unsure factor of more guards. They couldn’t be loud to either. “you can slice there throat of easily”, demon chelvaric suggested. I don’t want to. But I guess we don’t have a chose. If he would knock them out there was a huge change they got up to early and sounded the alarm. He didn’t like it but he had no choice. And in the meantime he could impress his new guild mate. The more impressed she got the easier was to get her help in the end. The demon asked how he would do it.

“we can’t be risked to find out so we better slith the throat of the first two we take out. then we can dress us in their uniforms and surprise attack them one by one. It will make it easier to not be surprised attacked to.”, chelvaric said as he looked at naraku.

Naraku raised an eyebrow at his plan. It was certainly an interesting idea. One that COULD work. However, there was one flaw. "You're a wanted man Chel." she said and then pointed at his face. That was the big issue. "Which means everyone of them probably know your face and rune knights don't cover their faces." Yes, it was a real issue with his otherwise perfect plan. "Plus that only gets rid of the patrols I doubt we could wipe out the nineteen around the base." Then she grinned. She had an idea that was perhaps a bit extreme, but would work.

"How do you feel about being a decoy?" she suggested. After all, they suspected an attack, but didn't know who from. She hadn't been seen by anyone left alive. She'd made sure of that. "You take a uniform and try to sneak through town, but make sure you're spotted by the ones guarding the shed. Lure them away, taking out as many as you can and I sneak in. We'd be best waiting till there are shadows in the right place so I can hide better, night would be ideal, but if we wait too long we risk discovery" Fluffy nodded. He understood her plan. It might seem like a bit of a coincidence to some, but it would likely lure away the novices, enough that she could attack and wipe out the mages.

"I'll head to the outskirts of town, if you can lure them there I'll help you take them out." Fluffy said with a wolfish grin. He was looking forward to showing off his skills. He looked at Naraku quizically and she held out a hand. He opened his mouth and there was a faint purple glow. She inserted her hand and slowly withdrew it and she did she pulled out a full length scythe. This was Ripper, her favourite weapon. The small amount of magic power shouldn't of been detected as it was demonic energy rather than pure magic energy. She would need this if she was to succeed.

Naraku pointed out that chelvaric was a wanted man. Oh god how did he forget this it wasn’t that long ago that he saw his picture hanging on a wall from a village. Chelvaric unsheathed his double bladed spear. They probably need to cut through a lot of rune knights now. But then naraku came up with a new plan. He and the wolf would fight a bunch of the rune knights on the outskirts of the city. Well that seemed a good idea. If he would kill one of them they would all go after him. This wouldn’t do his wanted status any good. But if this was what it takes to take revenge he wouldn’t give it a second tought. Naraku pulled out a scythe. Was she hiding that in the wolf. This was the first time he saw something like that. “hmm this woman is interesting.”, demon chivalric said. “demon guide my hand a bit I don’t want to freeze up in the middle of the fight. ”, chelvaric said. His chest was cramping under the pressure of killing. “well I see ya later then have fun killing.”, chelvaric said and he jumped down.

He walked through town towards the shed. He walked on a calm walk through the streets trying to lure rune knights to him. But it was like messed with him as none came. He eventually arrived at the shed. A rune knight was standing near the shed and saw him. “hey you there ha-, youre chelvaric! ALARM!!”, the rune knight shouted. On that moment chelvaric jumped to him and tried to hit him with his spear. But the rune knight was quick and blocked his attack. Chelvaric spinned around to beat the rk with the other end of his spear. But again the recruit showed more speed and blocked it. the rune knight counter attacked but chelvaric blocked his slashes. He hadn’t had time for this so he slides through the legs of the rune knight and ran towards the edge of town. A lot of rune knights came storming out of the shed and started to follow him.

Before Chel had taken off to execute his part of the plan Fluffy had leapt across rooftops at a startling speed arriving at the place they had designated to wait. He had not gone his full speed. In his current form that was impossible, but for a wolf it was impressive. He waited in silence, hidden from view. When the opponents came into view he would assume his real form and tear them apart. He might leave a few for Chel, but he wanted a bit of payback against this particular man's subordinates.

Naraku meanwhile watched with interest as the five patrolling men followed him and not only them, but ten from the shed. Fifteen rune knights out of the way and following them were two of the mages. That left only two mages and five men for her to deal with. This would be a lot easier now. She dropped down landing in a shadow and seemed to vanish from sight. This was an inherent ability of being a hell demon slayer. You became one with darkness and shadows. She walked along and saw the first remaining target. It wasn't one of the mages, but they did seem to be surrounding the building now protecting it. So they suspected it was a ploy or were just being cautious. Maybe they thought Chelvaric was here for revenge. It did not matter. She raised her arm and with a slight amount of magic fired off a needle on a wire from a device on her wrist. It aimed to puncture his throat.

She was right behind him, he could not see her and she was very good at silence. Even if her first blow missed she could still silence him with ease. The first blow hit puncturing the throat and then it pulled out and stabbed twice puncturing each lunge. The next shot, aimed at the heart, missed but a second attack hit. The final blow missed, but it did not matter. He was dead before he had a chance to react and he died silently. She withdrew the item and then looked at the body. There seemed little point at hiding the body at first because the blood would reveal foul play. However, the blood was in the shadows so therefore wouldn't be spotted immediately. She nodded and quickly flew up. She'd used minor magic killing him so minor magic again would not reveal her anymore. She placed the body on the roof and began to walk around looking for the next target. Attacks from above were always ideal, no-one ever seemed to look up.

Chelvaric was running through the streets. He ran into always to tire them out. he was feeling the breathing of the people chasing him. So 17 people were following him. He could feel 5 of them slowing down already. The armors of the rune knights were heavy and these recruits aren’t used it to it yet. He would lure them to the demon before he started killing them again. would the mages be his first target or the knights. It was better to handle the mages as quickly as possible otherwise he was going to get in trouble. He ran passed the last 2 buildings toward the demon.

Chelvaric gathered the air around his underarms in the from off scimitars. “sky demon slasher”,chelvaric shouted. He looked back and saw a bunch of rune knights running after him. He was waiting on the mages so he could deal with them. He saw one of the mages. He was gathering fire and was completely defenseless. He spins around and slashed his air scimitars in the air. The two air blades fly through the rune knights who jumped away. But the fire mage couldn’t defend himself. One cut off his arm the other sliced his head off. That’s one mage down. he rolled toward the first knight and stabbed his leg he pulled his spear out and punches it through his hearth. Second kill. His eyes started to glow more. He spined and tried to hit another knight. But he blocked the attack chelvaric was open and the enemy tried to hit him. But for some reason he missed. “you’re still a rookie aren’t you.”, chelvaric said. He tried to slash his sword again. but chelvaric blocked it with his spear.

As Chel began his attacks the wolf stepped out of the shadows and began to howl. As he howled a glow spread over his body which began to grow. Eventually when he stopped howling the wolf had become 13ft tall and about twice that in length. In essence, he was massive. This was his true form. A form that a few weakling rune knights would not be able to deal with. The recruits had not seen it before, but the look on the mage's was one of recollection and both began to run back towards the base as if to report. Fluffy growled and leapt after them with surprising speed his claws sweeping at them.

The mage did not stand a chance. With two swipes they were sliced to ribbons, dead before they had a chance to react. Fluffy then quickly turned and leapt into the fray slicing at the men and biting. Two more fell to his claws and one had their head ripped off by his fangs. Fluffy was a demon. He was not nice. The rune knights all tried to attack, but only two managed to stab at him and hit. The others missed and two spear strikes were nothing to Fluffy. They hurt, but not enough. The rune knights had succeeded in one thing. They had pissed off a demon.

Naraku meanwhile had begun sneaking around the base in the shadows and saw two rune knights quite near eachother. She sent stabber flying down, but it missed on the first and second pass. They began to get suspicious at the sound and looked around, but it was too late. The next two movements were enough. The first made it slice the throat slightly and the second bound them tightly crushing the windpipe, preventing speech. The next two ended in stabbing each of them through the heart. It was not a difficult process. She returned them to the rooftops with the other and dropped down. However, this was unfortunate for her because it seemed a mage had been patrolling, checking on the knights and he saw her. He did not call out.

"Ah our mystery assassin from last time." the man said quietly. "How the crimson lancer will reward me for bringing you down." Naraku did nothing at first. The man was obviously ambitious. He had not alerted anyone yet. This was good for her. The man would have to remain silent if he wanted all the credit. The mage conjured five fireballs and launched them at Naraku. The first missed, merely scorching her hair slightly as it went past, the second and third were blocked by the spinning of her scythe. The fourth was the only one to hit. It hit her in the chest burning away some of her top revealing a lace bra. Naraku growled and sliced the next fireball in two.

"My turn?" she asked as she lunged forward.

Chelvaric heard a howling behind him and the wolf was changing form. Chelvaric was a bit beveled how the wolf had changed in a real demon. So he wasn’t bluffing when he said that it seemed. He took out a lot of the rune knights but there were still a lot of them running around. They weren’t paying attention to chelvaric anymore as they were busy with the demon who was rampaging through the rune knights. He couldn’t use his own magic to much as he needed it for the general so he would but his old spirits in action.

Chelvaric stabs his ice spear end into the ground. The ground around his spear starts to freeze up and the under half of the spear lightens up. It transforms to ernia the frozen tempest. She wears a hooded cloak with here and there metal plating on it. she is a lynx humanoid. Her tail is twisted around her right legg. She holds the spear blade as sword in her hands. “I am here to serve your boss.”, ernia says as she kneels. “those rune knights are our enemies now. So take out as many as you can.”, chelvaric said. His feeling for the rune knights was gone because he wanted the other demon slayer for his cause. And that was more important than anything else. Ernia stands up and charges her blade. It covers up in ice. When she’s done she slashes fore ward and 8 spears flew right to the rune knights. I nthe heavy fight couple f the spears miss. But the rest pierces trough necks, chests, legs and other body parts. She took out 5 of the 12 remaining rune knights.

Chelvaric ran toward the rune knights and jumped in to the air when he reached the first one. He strike down with his scimitar blade. The rune knight had seen him and blocked with his sword. But the air scimitar cuts through steel like butter and after a second the rune knight spliced in half and felt in 2 pieces. He tried to do the same with another rune knight but he missed. The slash of the scimitar flew next to the rune knight and a couple yards away sliced a barrel in two. All of the rune knights were to afraid to attack the demon so they ran to chelvaric and tried to hit him. He blocked most of their sword slashes but two of them hit his right arm. Blood was flowing over his arm but he didn’t mind he was a demon slayer. With only one sword in his hand he attacked the nearest rune knight in a frenzy but they blocked everything. His aim was a bit off because of the wound. “you all use the same old rune knight tricks I can fight you blind.”, chelvaric calmly said. As the rune knights started to get very frightened and angry at the same time. He wondered how naraku was doing.

The storage demon, who appeared now to be a gigantic wolf, saw the work of Chelvaric. He had summoned a spirit of ice to tear apart these former allies of his. Loyalty was not his strong suit or perhaps he was only loyal to those who could be useful to him. How very demonic. Fluffy was impressed. However, he did not have time to watch and stare. No, he had to get involved once more and lunged again. His claws and fangs were razor sharp, equal to that of legendary weapons. There weapons would only slow the blow and not stop it. Particularly with his speed and strength behind it. With two wipes of his front claws and two powerful bites of his jaws he ended their little battle. Two of the knights managed to get stab wounds in as they died, but they were now all dead. The wolf grinned. His mouth was dripping blood.

"It will be a little while before I can assume my smaller form." he said to Chelvaric. Transformation magic, his one skill other than internal storage, took it out of him a bit. "And inside the building i'll be of little use. Go help Naraku and i'll wait on the rooftops ready if needed." This was said slightly begrudgingly. He hated being useless, but he spoke the truth. He couldn't use his large form inside and his small form would be useless.


Naraku had charged at the mage who threw another five fireballs. These were slightly larger than the last. Her scythe was spinning around her body in a complex pattern. It destroyed three of the balls, but two hit her. One further destroying her top and the other scorching her arm. However, this did not stop her charge and she sliced out with the scythe. The mage however was more resilient to a physical attack than she had anticipated. He raised a single barrier of fire that stopped all three of her attacks before breaking. She leapt back, using her wind magic to aid her retreat slightly and looked at her opponent. His magic use was low, obviously trying to deal with her without raising too much attention. However, it seemed she would have to fight back properly in order to win.
