Seth of the Scarred Forest Henry.%28Fire.Emblem%29.full.1928290

Name: Seth of the Scarred Forest
    Gender: Male
    Age: 18
    Birthday: April 30th
    Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: A stitched scar running diagonally from his left shoulder to his right hip. A black pentagram is also burned into Seth's right palm, with various other burn and char marks lining further up his right arm.

Personality: Seth could be perceived as the kind of man that flips a coin every day when he wakes up, deciding whether he wants to act on instinct or reason. On being bestial or benevolent. On whether he'd like to protect the innocent with his life or abandon them for an extra Jewel thrown the other way. This unpredictable personality is exactly what he wants his enemies to think of him as when the time for conflict comes; but more on that later, for even among friends he wishes to keep this facade of a man with dark humor and darker intentions. In truth he's nothing quite so cunning or masterful or sadistic, but thinks that for three big reasons it's better that he act under the guise of a coin flipping cutthroat.

The first reason is weakness. He feels that it's easier to become vulnerable or placed in dangerous circumstances if he has a clear side that he would lean towards. With the goals he wishes upon this world, he can't be the kind of person who has clear or obvious weaknesses. If word got out that he was afraid to do one thing or commit to another, then once in a position of power his rivals and perhaps even close 'allies' would use those fears to hammer him into place. As a result, Seth believes that he cannot be allowed to be vulnerable.

The second reason is presence. Should he gain great power in the future, he won't be respected if he doesn't have the presence to command and dictate where that power goes. He'd rather not lead through reverence however, but through fear and strength. He's willing to play the part of 'the bad guy' if it means it furthers the end goal, and there's no better way to command fear than to be a powerful wizard who decides your life on a coin flip or a game of 'rock, paper, scissors'.

The third reason is fun. Pure fun. The primal desire for entertainment when times are dull can propel people forward in ways unimaginable. He's a man with little to lose, and his place in the world is such that no one will weep if he dies. With no one to feel sad for him and no one to hold him responsible for his actions, he sees his life as expendable. Due to this, he'd might as well be an expendable resource that at least riles things up, whether that mean turning his neighbors into goats or threatening to curse the old lady he helped cross a street just because she pronounced his name wrong. At worst he'll be declared a madman, and at best he'll go down as a morally grey wizard who balanced life and death equally. No matter what he goes down as he'll have fun doing it, and he'll take that fun to his grave if he has to.

These three reasons guide him throughout life, and each is very important to him. He's had very few close friends, but for those closest to him he'd be willing to set those rules of his aside to help from one human to another. Only in secret, though; he can't risk word of him being nice getting out too heavily.

In battle, Seth loves the rush of moving about on instinct. He'll take orders on this tactic or that if he must, but ordering him to 'act freely' is a dangerous pair of words if ever there were any. Like a wolf with mange or a catapulted pig he'll charge into a fight and silence threats in order of least threatening to most. The exception to this mentality is when he has a personal grudge to settle, where he'll focus his full attention on that person even at the cost of his life or the lives of others. Another exception is when he prefers a target to be killed before they notice him, in which case he'd be willing to patiently wait hours for the moment where he's confident a single attack will kill. Being from the humblest origins imaginable, he was never one with an opportunity to read great war strategies, and has never bothered since then. Rather, he'd prefer to be the bullet shot from a gun. A bullet with its own intentions and plans that might even go against its gun's wishes, but a bullet nonetheless.

As a leader, Seth takes on the lie of a dictator who values strength above all. Threatening his subordinates with torment upon failure, and ordering them to fetch him one item or another. The more perceptive will likely catch on to this charade quickly, but many do not. Should a mission end and a subordinate go against his orders for whatever reason, if it's not a severe hindrance Seth will find one excuse or another as to why punishment will be delayed indefinitely. If he had a choice, however, he'd rather follow than lead. He prefers to be an unknown leader rather than one who's open about his intentions and future plans.

    Likes:

    • Nature: A forest and its inhabitants saved his life once, and so he's sworn to repay the debt by honoring and respecting wildlife for as long as he lives. It offers him a feeling of tranquility when needed, and he offers it his protection; a symbiotic relationship, he calls it.

    • The Sun: The light of the sun allows nature to prosper, people to live on, and food to grow.
It's a very versatile sort of being, the sun; one that Seth intends to admire for a very long time.

    • Manipulation: Seth loves manipulation. Whether it be to further his ambitions or to seek justice, he plays the game relentlessly and with as many faces as needed to win. Sometimes he needs no reason at all, and simply speaks words of treachery or deceit for no reason at all other than to see how those with more power than himself will react.

    Dislikes:

    • Nobility: The pompous, arrogant, ignorant fools on the upper end of society are often the kinds of people Seth would prefer to avoid. Even more so, if he had his way they would all be either dead or stripped of their riches; not to be redistributed or anything, just to spite them and make them realize that their lives will see new hardships.

    • Alcohol: The smell of alcohol and its appearance reminds Seth of his earlier life, and he'd rather forget those days. With enough consumption, it turns good men into idiots and bad men into far worse men.

    • Magic: It's a concept older than Fiore's founding, yet for all the good it's done, Seth feels it's been repaid twice over in malice and contempt. He often cites Zeref and the Black Arts as examples of this. He's not optimistic for the future of magic if it continues to escalate in power,
and feels less safe with each passing day that promising, talented wizards grow stronger on both sides of the law.

    Motivations:

    • Open an inn: Either before or after his end goal, he'll need to find some sort of life to lead. He doesn't consider himself to be a leader, so he's elected to open an inn to help weary travelers and soldiers on their journeys. If it's before ending magic, he also intends to use it as a front for any of his allies that might need hiding once he gets into less glamorous business.

    • Find a new king: Obviously his goals will draw the attention of the law eventually, and once he's revealed his true colors there will be much blood to be shed. In order to minimize this, Seth believes the answer lies in finding a new ruler for the people of Fiore to bend to. For those who won't bend, Seth seeks to place a king on the throne he can trust, so that they can mutually agree to kill or banish those who won't bend. He considers this the intermediate step towards his end goal.

    • Ending magic: Seth has sought out, and continues to seek out, a way to bring an end to magic. As absurd as that sounds, Seth wishes to find the 'off' switch of magic in a way. He believes that a world where everyone returns to a non-magical state of being will halt the power escalation shown by stronger wizards, and in his own way prevent further disaster. Once he's the last one alive with magic, he'll then remove his own magic by choice and burn all tomes, scrolls, and other such records that prove magic ever existed in the first place.

    Fears:

    • Achievemephobia: Seth, while not likely to admit it, is afraid of success. Every step he takes on his path to furthering his end goal, he becomes closer to an unknown element: what happens once magic ceases to exist? Where does society go from there? This curses him in other parts of his life as well, as he dreads taking on the new responsibilities he'll be forced to take as he progresses.

    • Violin Music: When he was younger, he had bad experiences occur again and again while a violinist played his tunes to the beat of it. As a result, he'd rather not talk about it but will when possible leave the vicinity if he starts to hear a violin playing. And if not, he'll have to endure, shaken and trying his best to maintain composure.

    • Fire: Obviously fire can cause pain, but Seth hates stepping close to fire at all unless it involves being near a campfire or something else more practical like that. Against pyromancers, or enchanted flames, or other such things, he'd rather be as far from them as possible (or as close as possible, if it involves killing a pyromancer to stop their flames).

    General Appearance

    Height: 5'7"
    Weight: 130 lbs
Hair: Silver hair, windswept, ear length
    Eyes: Grey
    Skin Tone: Pale
Appearance: Seth has a build that others would assume fit for a servant boy or someone with less nutritional intake. With pale skin, covered often by flowing robes and cloaks, people would see him as frail and defenseless. He stands at a height below average compared to his peers and often slouches, making him appear even less imposing than normal. Despite this, he can often be seen with an optimistic gleam in his eyes, and a smile befitting someone who either has everything going for him or so little going for him that he's delighting in taking it from others. He also has slight muscle from various odd jobs involving labor, but not enough to compare to warriors or even farmers.

His usual attire is that of a stereotypical dark wizard. A raven-themed dark purple cloak embroidered with gold floral patterns along the edges, and an over-exaggerated collar with golden eyes along it remains his signature article of clothing, refusing to travel without it.

Aside from that, he wears a basic long-sleeve light grey tunic underneath his cloak, tucked inside of a dark purple and golden waistcloth which also acts as a belt to hold his black trousers reliably in place. To ensure he can walk on any terrain reliably, he also wears black hiker's boots which he tucks his pants inside.

Black wraps and bandages also cover his wrists to his elbows sturdily.
