A Wizard's Grace (Job)

This was it, Mitsuo could feel the scream piercing his eardrums and drowning out all other noise, knowing that it was time to actually use one of his abilities. He hadn't wanted to show his hand but he had no choice, his sense of hearing being his most important one. He shouted out over the screaming, which he knew was absolutely unnecessary but volume control wasn't something he could really deal with at the moment, yelling "Forget!" as the scream stopped and the effects of the scream were forgotten, Mitsuo no longer able to hear them. His hearing was back to normal, one sword in his hand as he scooped up the second. He hoped that something more dangerous wouldn't happen where his forget spell would be more useful right away, but he also didn't regret what he had done, really saving himself with that move.

He charged forward towards the somewhat confused dark mage. "So the little fairy has some tricks after all eh?" He said as Mitsuo ran in for a strike, the enemy side stepping to his left side but Mitsuo noticing this and spinning on his right heel to slash him against that left arm that had already been heavily damaged in their fight. He could no longer raise his arm, but that wouldn't stop him from casting his ray spell again with his right, Mitsuo noting the moves again. If it connected this time he wouldn't be able to stop it and he would know absolutely what it did.

Mitsuo instinctively got out of the way, knowing by now the pattern of that ray about as well as one of his own moves. He moved past his enemy again, swinging his swords together in an arc from left to right digging both blades into him, one into his right arm and the other into his side. He was losing a lot of blood, and Mitsuo knew that the fight wouldn't go much longer, telling him once more "You can give up at any time, or I can drag your unconscious body back to the Rune Knights and let them deal with you however they see fit. Either way, you're not going to last much longer. Don't keep fighting."

The dark wizard was gritting his teeth, blood flowing from opened wounds all over his body. Mitsuo shook his head, wanting him to end it but knowing that the man was prideful. He would have to get him to fall unconscious, which honestly if he bided his time probably wouldn't take very long. He knew that he couldn't just sit there and wait though, as a cornered animal was at its most dangerous when it was injured. He watched as he was casting once more. "Shut your mouth little fairy...SILENCE!" Mitsuo remembered this one, but he knew it was too soon for him to use his forget spell, hoping that the spell would fail due to his opponent being out of energy.

He got lucky that his enemy was in such an injured state, though he knew that the silence spell wouldn't be the worst thing for him, it still made him nervous all the same. As Mitsuo saw the severely injured man bleeding all over the place he knew he had to end it, and end it as soon as he possibly could. The man was going to try to cast one more spell, Mitsuo watched his hands moving and saw that the was attempting to cast the ray one more time, something that he couldn't let happen. His left hand was hanging uselessly by his side, his right not fairing that much better, and blood coming from almost everywhere else on his body. Mitsuo rushed past him once more, spinning past him and slashing his sword across the backs of his knees, slicing the tendons and causing him to fall to the ground, his legs unable to support him anymore.

He crashed to his knees, but was still determined to get the attack off, pointing his finger towards Mitsuo and casting his spell, to which Mitsuo tried to make sure he wouldn't be in the way once more, preparing to make an attack to end this entire altercation once and for all so tha the could lift the curse on this land.

'Block Dice' :

Before he had a chance to cast his spell, Mitsuo ran in to finish it. He spun around with a kick, landing it square into the side of the dark wizards head and knocking him unconscious. As he fell to the ground the fields began to change from the grays and browns back to their normal greens, the broccoli monsters shrinking back down to normal and the darkness seeming to lift from the area. Mitsuo dropped to his knees, placing the swords back into their scabbards on his back and lifting the injured wizard up. He groaned as it wasn't helping the knife wounds that the had taken, and his face was still quite swollen, but he was determined to get this dark wizard back to where he will be cared for and put into custody.

He walked at a slow pace, hoping that the dark wizard wouldn't wake up again before he could get to a hospital with the man, letting the person at the desk know that this was the wizard who had cursed the crops, and getting them to get a hold of the Rune Knights for him. He had his own wounds looked after, his side being particularly difficult to stop the bleeding with, though they patched it up. He had a few stitches in him, which he'd get fixed up when he got back to Magnolia by a healing wizard, but for now he had to suck it up and deal with this.

Once he was feeling a little bit better he took off towards where he'd be able to find the farmer who had been growing the crops, wanting to talk to him before he left for home. He was the man who he would have to talk to about his payment anyway, but that wasn't the only reason. He wanted to tell him what had happened. So he walked down the path towards the entrance of the mans house, not wanting to walk through his crops any more than he already had, and knocked on the door, being let in by a smiling elderly man who invited him into his house.

When he saw Mitsuo's guild symbol, he knew instantly that he had to be the kid who had been sent to help him out with his job. Mitsuo explained to him that a dark wizard had put a curse on his fields and was the reason for the village's grievances over the past little while, but that Mitsuo had defeated him and taken him into custody. The man couldn't thank him enough, handing him his reward, which Mitsuo took graciously, and offering him some free vegetables to go with it. Mitsuo took what the man was offering before making his way back towards the train station, getting ready to head home.

As Mitsuo sat on the train back to Magnolia town, he couldn't help but think about the mission that he was just on. He was trying to thumb through the book that he had been working on recently on God Slayer Magic, but he was having no luck concentrating on it, which wasn't something that often happened. He wondered why there was a dark wizard in that village, what he could have possibly hoped to have achieved in that place, and also what the hell that ray would have done to him. He was glad he never figured that one out as from the looks of things the man dealt with curses, and was quite good with them.

As the train bounced down the tracks he felt pain in his side where he had been cut, but for the most part the journey was relatively painless. He finally managed to stop thinking about what had happened, and instead went back to his reading, making sure that he continued on with his studies so tha the could hopefully one day learn the ancient art that he had been working at trying to learn. As the sun was coming down he saw Magnolia Town come into view, smiling as he made his way back to his new home...
