Dark Matter

Magic

Primary Magic: Dark Matter
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster

Description: The Dark Matter she creates is matter that does not exist. It’s not matter that hasn’t yet been discovered, nor matter that theoretically exists, but rather matter which undeniably did not exist until Leivinia created it. As such, she has complete and total control over its properties. Is it solid or liquid? Is it opaque or translucent? Is it light or heavy? These aspects of her Dark Matter are changeable.

Strengths:

This is a branch of magic derived from maker-magic. As such, attacks are only limited by the user's imagination.
Any Dark Matter spell that is dodged will linger on the field. This Dark Matter will be instantly destroyed by any spell that targets it, regardless of rank.

Weaknesses:

In order to mold Dark Matter, Leivinia requires the use of her hands.
Dark Matter can be eaten by Shadow Dragon Slayers.

Unique Abilities:
- Dark-Matter Make: Leivinia is able to create anything that she can imagine due to her maker magic. Whether it's a bat, a baseball, a sword, or even a TV (cable costs extra.) These items will deal regular physical damage equal to as if she were punching her target.
- Dark Core: Leivinia's body is composed entirely of Dark Matter. There is no distinction between the Dark Matter she creates and her own flesh; they are the same material. As such, her body is considered 'lingering Dark Matter.'
- Dark Network: Leivinia can upload herself into any lingering remnants of Dark Matter currently on the field. This is a sort of teleportation. This is limit to use once per post.
D-Rank Spells:

Name: Residual Death
Rank: D
Type: Offensive; Dark
Duration: One
Cooldown: Three
Description: Leivinia draws a magic circle on the ground and stands in the middle of it. Her Dark Matter ripples outwards in a radius of 50 feet per rank and runs across the surface of an area, seeking out anything that once contained life. She can obtain information of past deaths in doing so, as if downloading data from a computer. Even more amazingly, she can then use her Dark Matter to upload these causes of death into an object being held in her hand. In doing so, that object will have the properties of a certain death. For example, if she uses this near a body of water, it may be that somebody had drowned. She can transfer this death into a rock that she is holding. Anybody who is hit by that rock will suddenly lose their breath. This scaled down version of death deals D rank damage.

Strengths:
- A death can be stored inside of an object and used at a later time. Of course, only one death may be stored at a time.
- This has non-combat usage as well. If there are many residual deaths floating around a dangerous area such as a bridge or a cave, Leivinia would likely avoid going there.
Weaknesses:
- A residual death is the last information left when a soul leaves the physical world. Because of this, the power transferred into an object is not enough to actually kill despite having the properties of death. In fact, as most deaths would have been stored there for years, most of the power would have been sapped away by the time she had access to it.
- The process of transferring a cause of death takes time. She must first use the spell that seeks out residual death, 'download' the information and read over it, then 'upload' it into an object that she is holding.
- This is heavily dependent on the location. For example, if Leivinia is in a desert, the deaths would be of dehydration.

Name: Dark Horizon
Rank: D
Type: Defensive; Dark
Duration: One
Cooldown: Three
Description: Leivinia etches a barrier of Dark Matter into existence, forming a transparent cocoon that surrounds one person. This cocoon is actually soft to the touch yet it can withstand magic. This is because the Dark Matter is imbued with properties that can calculate the impact of magical attacks and send vibrations out in order to negate it.

Strengths:
- Can negate any D rank spells or 50% of any C rank spells which hit it during its duration.
- Is almost instant in its formation.
- It covers 360 degrees. As such, she doesn't have to worry about attacks from multiple angles.
Weaknesses:
- It prevents its target from moving their legs and arms.
- It only protects against magical attacks. Physical attacks will still do damage.
- It is only large enough to engulf one person. It cannot be used to protect multiple people.
- If a B rank spell or higher comes into contact with it, it will disintegrate and they will take full damage from it.

Name: Dark Diffraction
Rank: D
Type: Offensive; Light
Duration: Two
Cooldown: Three
Description: Leivinia's Dark Matter has unique properties and does not follow the set laws of this world. As such, she can mold any Dark Matter currently on the field into a substance which can diffract light-waves and focus them on a single target.

Strengths:
- This deals 150% D rank damage
- The attack can come from any lingering Dark Matter and thus from different angles.
- As it's composed of light, it travels very quickly towards its target.
Weaknesses:
- While charging, the Dark Matter will glow and can be easily spotted.

Name: Dark Lift
Rank: D
Type: Support; Dark
Duration: Three
Cooldown: Four
Description: Leivinia puts both of her hands together and forms three pairs of wings that attach to her back. These wings increase her speed.

Strengths:
- If there's no lingering Dark Matter such that Dark Network can't be used, this can get her out of a tight situation instead.
Weaknesses:
- Although potentially difficult, the wings can be destroyed by a D rank spell.

Hey there Leivinia and a belated welcome to FTRP. I'm Kiki and I'll be reviewing your magic, ensuring it's balanced but still a great magic to use.

In the spoiler below is everything you've written thus far plus some edits in green that I'd like you to make either to help balance your magic out, or to improve it in some way.

It may take a bit longer to use than other magic, as first Leivinia must imagine it then mold it.

- Dark Wings: Leivinia molds six wings upon her back which allows her to fly. These raise her speed by 5% per rank but only lasts for three posts. The cooldown is 4 posts. (This needs to be made into a spell I'm afraid.)
- Dark Core: Leivinia's body is composed entirely of Dark Matter. There is no distinction between the Dark Matter she creates and her own flesh; they are the same material. As such, her body is considered 'lingering Dark Matter.'
- Dark Network: Leivinia can upload herself into any lingering remnants of Dark Matter currently on the field. This is a sort of teleportation. (Please limit this to one use per post for now as you're only a D-rank mage.)

Description: Leivinia draws a magic circle on the ground and stands in the middle of it. Her Dark Matter ripples outwards in a radius of 500 feet (this needs to be decreased at the moment as you're only D-rank atm. 50ft would be better) and runs across the surface of an area, seeking out anything that once contained life. She can obtain information of past deaths in doing so, as if downloading data from a computer. Even more amazingly, she can then use her Dark Matter to upload these causes of death into an object being held in her hand. In doing so, that object will have the properties of a certain death. For example, if she uses this near a body of water, it may be that somebody had drowned. She can transfer this death into a rock that she is holding. Anybody who is hit by that rock will suddenly lose their breath. (please state a duration for that effect. A single post? Also, does this deal any actual damage?)

Strengths:
- This spell can be very unpredictable. This is both a weakness and a strength. For example, an opponent probably won't expect to become thirsty or breathless when hit by a rock. The attack may take them off guard.
- A death can be stored inside of an object and used at a later time. Of course, only one death may be stored at a time.
- This has non-combat usage as well. If there are many residual deaths floating around a dangerous area such as a bridge or a cave, Leivinia would likely avoid going there.
Weaknesses:

Weaknesses:
- The Sun must be overhead for the spell to do full damage. If there is no light, the spell will not work. If there is artificial light or moonlight, damage inflicted to the target will be halved.
- It requires a turn to be charged up. (in this case the duration should be 2 posts; one to charge the spell, another to release it.)
- It is vulnerable to interrupt.
- While charging, the Dark Matter will glow and can be easily spotted.

Name: Dark Matter Cannon
Rank: D
Type: Offensive; Dark
Duration: One
Cooldown: Two
Description: Leivinia puts both of her hands together and forms a large cannon which is rested upon her shoulder. This cannon fires a large glob of Dark Matter at a single target which deals D rank damage.

Strengths:
- This spell is her bread-and-butter. It's very straightforward.
- This is good for spreading around lingering Dark Matter and can even be purposefully aimed at the ground in order to do so.
- The glob of Dark Matter can be fired quickly like a bullet.
Weaknesses:
- The cannon lets the target know exactly where the glob will be fired.
- The cannon requires both hands to hold instead of just one due to its size.
- It takes time to aim the cannon.
- The cannon can be destroyed. (how much damage can the cannon withstand?)

Oh, sorry! I thought I saw somewhere the cooldown is the duration +1 but I fixed them. I also read that charge spells do more damage but wasn't sure how much, so instead of C rank i just did +10 damage. Edits have all been made though.

That is the case with most spells but D-rank spells generally have a 3 post cooldown minimum, with a handful of exceptions.

I don't have a stamp to use unfortunately so you'll have to make do with this I'm afraid:
