Smile[Mission]

Raven wanted to hit him square on the face with something..anything! She swore to herself that she has not met another person as stubborn and rude as him as she stared at the almost perfect looking blue haired, red eyed man with a star tattoo on his right cheek flirting with another girl as she, his escort was standing right behind him with a strapless amethyst colored dress on.

‘I’m standing right here!’ she wanted to scream or at least kick him where it hurts the most but she bit the insides of her cheeks as she found Kuroe holding in a chuckle behind her. How did she end up in this position again? Oh that’s right…it’s a mission. She is getting paid to tolerate his behavior for the evening. For some reason though, not even Raven felt getting paid is worth going through this kind of treatment from someone not too older than her.

Raven sighed for the nth time and deciding that enough is enough, she finally tapped on the idiot’s shoulder before pulling him away from the slutty looking blonde that was practically throwing herself at him. Shaking her head to the thought, she stopped at a far corner of the room where not many would see her before giving her one of her best glares. She saw his eyes widen for a little bit before they went back to the same expressionless ones. Why? Maybe the spoiled little brat has never had anyone glare at him before. Was he that spoiled?

“I don’t know what your problem is but I would like it if you know that I’m not here to look like some fool standing beside my date as he flirts around with sluts. I don’t understand how one person can be so damn rude,” she complained with a sigh as she turned around.

Maybe if she had not turned her back on him, she would have noticed the sad smile that appeared on his lips for a second and maybe those emotionless eyes that seemed to be thinking far off into the past. If she had not turned around, maybe she could have pulled him through but sadly, Raven missed it and by the time she had looked back, the man was smirking back at her. “You’re ugly and don’t give a damn,” he dismissed her just like that as he turned to probably go back to the blonde that he was with not too long ago.

“I can’t believe this guy,” Raven whispered more to herself as she snaked her hands around his arm and pulled him towards the dance floor. With a glare, she took initiative for getting into position and dancing as the music began to pour out to the dance floor.

“Why can’t you just leave me alone?” Raven looked up at the sudden question and tilted her head to the side as she frowned. “What do you mean why? I’m your partner for tonight, am I not?” she asked with a small smile. For some reason, he reminded her a lot of a lost child rather than anything else. Something about him told her that he wasn’t being rude intentionally but something was just telling him to be like that.

“Say…is there any reason why you are so rude to people? From what I can see..youa re not so bad…” she trailed off as she saw something similar to looking lost crossed his features. “I have my reasons..I don’t mean to be this rude..” he said, hanging his head down as he did. ‘Certainly like a kid,’ she thought as she lifted his head up and gave him a big grin.

William looked at her in wonder as he was lead around the dance floor by someone younger and shorter than him. But for some reason, he ignored the weird glances he received and decided to enjoy the moment. Ever since things went down for him with his so called family, he couldn’t remember one day that he smiled genuinely.

“You might be going through some problems…but you know..there are so many people that would love to become friends with you, you know? Not for your money or looks….your behavior drives them away and youa re only gonna end up as a sad and lonely man if this goes on,” she stuck her tongue out at him in the end when William started to truly laugh…after so many years.

He didn’t know whether it was with the way she said it or the fact that someone younger than him just lectured him, he was happy.

“I wish this day wouldn’t end,” Wiliam sighed as he held on to Raven while they waltzed in the most beautiful ball room. Raven gave him a puzzled look but he just brushed it off with a small smile. “I was wrong about you…You are truly beautiful,” he complimented, making the ruby eyed small girl laugh nervously at him. She prayed to the almighty God that this guy wouldn’t just fall for her because in the end, she was doing her mission and all she had to do was make him happy which she did. She didn’t think she would be meeting him again but looking at the opposite corner, she knew that someone else would take her place soon.

The brunette that stared at the man with longing didn’t go unnoticed by Raven at all…”I’m sure…you’ll never be lonely again, William,” she smiled, pulling away from hima s the music came to an end.
