The Sunny Tower of No Return

Hika walked slowly, her head drooped down slightly. She didn't like hurting people, not to mention killing them off. And she didn't like this ruthless side of hers. She didn't need to kill them off. But, why did she do that? Lost in her own thoughts, she didn't realise that the awkward silence between Indar and her was getting stronger. Hika slowed down her pace so she was standing right beside Indar. ''You know, you never told me what guild you were from?'' She stopped walking abruptly, stared up at him and gave him a cheeky smile. "Ah, right, I forgot to mention. I'm from Sabertooth. And you're from...?" Her eyes dropped down to the mark on Indar's neck. Hika squinted her eyes. Savage Skull? She turned her gaze back his eyes and raised an eyebrow. "You're from Savage Skull?" Indeed, Savage Skull was one of the strongest dark guilds and that explains why Indar always have almost no expression or emotion on his face. She had heard of the guild name from time to time but she never thought she'd be meeting one, let alone doing a mission together.

Even if Indar was from a dark guild and a lot hella stronger than her, she wasn't that frightened. After all, he seemed to be a friendly guy, unless he started killing her. Hika smiled. So, she has collected 4 facts about him. Savage Skull. A metal slayer. Pretty much a friendly guy. And, ferocious, as well. "How is it like in a dark guild? Do everyone enjoy killing people and slicing their throats?" Hika tried to make jokes, though she doesn't think it was funny at all. Her stomach grumbled. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO HAPPEN AT THIS TIME? She yelled mentally. Hika frowned slightly and quickly popped a bar of chocolate in her mouth. Hell, I need a huge feast.

Hika stared to the ground as they talked about stuffs. Hika was walking really slow, partly because she doesn't want to encounter any more enemies, though that is not quite possible, and because she doesn't want this amusing conversation to end, yet. ''Well, a dark guild is quite strange to be in. Most people are kinda cold to each other, but strangely, it can be quite nice at the same time. Though, yeah, everyone does enjoy killing people, well the ones i have met so far that is. Some have it kinda as a hobby.'' He laughed after finishing his sentence. He laughed. OH, HE DOES LAUGH. She didn't expect to receive this kind of response from him as he always have a serious look from the second they met. "A hobby? Well, that's definitely weird," Hika frowned.

They had been climbing up the stairs for a couple of minutes already, but still, they haven't reached the next floor yet. Hika sighed. And that was when Indar's next words shock her slightly. ''You know, i was once part of Sabertooth.'' He had said. She just stared at him. "Really?" was all she said after a few seconds. She wondered why he left the guild though that really wasn't a nice question to ask. She doesn't like prying other person's affairs, after all. That was why he looked somewhat familiar to her, a very blurred and vague picture in her mind, though she couldn't make it out where she'd met him before. Or, maybe that was just her imagination. "Do you know me? No, I mean, have you ever met me before?"

Hika was still chewing on her chocolate deliciously. ''I do remember you, we never talked though. I was really anti-social while in Sabertooth. But yes, i do know you, at least by name and face.'' She was glad that Indar remembered her though she was really trying hard to bring back her memories. She was a very forgettable person who doesn't even remember what she had for breakfast. But, she was certain that she had seen him before, but never had a chance to talk to him. She thought for a moment. Hika was trying to recollect pieces of her memories. "... I think your full name was Indar Blackshield, no?" She silently hoped it was correct.

''So, how's Sabertooth doing?'' Hika smiled. "It's great and lively, as usual. Though, the guild sometimes have its' unfortunate times too. You know, like, low in members and stuffs. But, well, we've been getting loads of new guild mates these days. It's finally good to be active back again," She grinned and scratched her head slightly. She wasn't even sure if she should be saying stuff like this. It was amusing to have this kind of conversation with him. Besides, she never thought they'd be talking comfortably like this and he was fun to be around with. "Uh. Don't mind me. I kinda talk a lot and most of them are gibberish," Hika laughed.

What made him join a dark guild? She wondered, though it was actually none of her business. Hika was getting to know this person better, which made her delighted that she was already making another new friend. She glanced up the stairs. They were almost at the top, to the next floor. Hika took a glimpse had Indar. He had changed slightly from when they'd first met in the Sabertooth guildhall. He had really grown stronger.

Hika chuckled lightly when Indar claimed that she wasn't talking gibberish. She chewed on her chocolate again. And once more, the silence filled the air as they've left nothing to talk anymore. She couldn't think of anything After she has done eating her chocolate, she stuffed the plastic wrapping back in her pocket. Hika kneaded her fingers together and stared at the ground as if she'd taken a sudden interest in these wooden floors. Oh, wow! Look at this floor! So beautiful! Okay. She was being sarcastic. She had nothing to do other than walking up these endless stairs, after all. Her teeth bit her lower lip anxiously as she played with her fingers. Hika spaced out for a while, thinking about chocolates again and what she'll be doing after this mission and so on.

''You are really nice Hikari.'' Hika blinked and just stared at him, wide eyed, unsure of what she should be saying. Heat rushed to her cheeks and then her ears. Her gaze immediately turned towards the ground to hide her face. "Uh. Thank you. You're a very nice person too," She mumbled quietly.
''It's really good to talk to you, even if we are quite different.''
Hika gave him a warm smile. "Same here. I actually thought you were an evil person who was planning to kill me when I found out you're from Savage Skull," She let out a laugh at the end of the sentence. "But, I was wrong," She quickly flashed him another smile. They finally arrived the next floor. To her surprise, there wasn't any single creature or enemy on this floor. She tilted her head slightly, confused. They were supposed to climb up all the 50 floors of this tower and retrieve their client's daughter. Oh, well, they'd soon come face to face with some enemies along the way.

''You know, when you found out i was from Savage Skull, i was scared that you would run away or try to fight me right away. Though you did prove me wrong.'' Hika let out a soft chuckle. The next thing Indar did truly surprised her. He hugged her, all of a sudden. Hika froze. She stood still as a statue, her face as red as a tomato. She had never been that close to anyone. As soon as he released the hug, she instantly turned away from him. She kept her mouth shut since she knew it would be the best way. Otherwise, gibberish would come out from her talkative mouth again. Hika waited as Indar opened the door to the next floor.

Seeing enemies in front of her snapped her back to reality. All she had in her mind, at this moment, was to finish off these enemies and complete the job. Chocolates wouldn't even be able to distract her anymore. Her eyes turned into a deep shade of brown, her mouth drawn into a firm line. Hika extended her hand, her index and middle finger outstretched while the other fingers curled into her palm. The wizards' hands and feet glow with light, as they prepared to charge towards her. Boulders from the nearby surface broke into the walls of the tower and were launched at the 10 wizards, not even allowing them to approach closer to her. While they were thrown off, Hika stomped on the ground, producing 5 pillars to rose up from the ground, beneath the enemies. 5 out of 10, eliminated. She mentally took note.

Hika blew the bangs off her face frustratedly after she defeated the the 5 wizards. She stared at the remaining 5. Indar seemed to be dealing the stronger ones whilst she was trying to handle the weaker ones. It was like killing 2 birds with one stone. Another hit would finish up the remaining wizards so she didn't find it quite a problem. "Iron Rock Fist!" She bellowed as she extended both of her hands in front of her. She sculpted 5 rock fists and ordered to attack the wizards. They don't seem to hesitate to kill her though. Those look in their eyes. Lifting up her chin, she glared back at them. The wizards threw themselves at Hikari, attempting to fight her. The fists sped up towards the wizards and gave them a blow in their stomachs. They laid on the ground, unmoving. Staring at the lifeless bodies around her feet, she turned around, feeling triumphed.

Indar had easily killed one from the stronger wizards. But, still, another 4 was left. He seemed to have a plan to finish off these wizards. Either way, she didn't hesitate to take action. Hika stomped on the ground, creating huge shockwaves. She may look really small, but her strength is insane. Her allies can be blown away as well, but since Indar is much stronger than her, he shouldn't receive the effects that much. The ground shook vigorously and cracks immediately formed as the enemies were thrown off the ground. Another one or two attacks from Indar could even put an end to this.

And so, Indar killed every last one of them with a single blow. As expected of him. A smile crept up slowly on Hika's lips. She couldn't help but blush slightly when Indar placed a hand on her head. Honestly, she can't even stay that close to a guy. That's how shy Hika gets. ''Shall we keep going?'' She beamed up at Indar and nodded. Soon after, they arrived the next floor and as she had assumed, there were enemies waiting on this floor again.

Hika prepared to fight as she slowly relaxed her body. She stood firm on the ground as she gathers boulder-sized rocks and compressed them together to form larger and heavier rocks before putting them into orbit. The rocks charged towards the 10 strong wizards before they started barging their way towards her, emitting bolts of sunlight. It was unexpected but one wizard did manage to strike her and dang, that burned her skin. She yelped and stepped back quickly before jumping onto her rocks to enable her to float in the air and gave the poor wizard a blow in the face.

Simultaneously, the rocks were hurled at the wizard twice and boom, it's over. 1 out of 10, defeated. Huzzah! She stood beside Indar when the 9 wizards began to surround them. Hopefully, Indar would have a plan to wipe them out quickly. They still need to climb up a couple of stairs before they reach the topmost level to retrieve the girl. She was sure that they'd still encounter stronger monsters on their way up and that terrible thought made her sigh loudly.

Hika was surprised when Indar suddenly grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him. She had to hold her ground firmly when the buster landed afterwards, blowing out her hair wildly in all directions. She let out a long breath of relief as most of the wizards were thrown off the tower due to the buster. The floors looked pretty messed up after the buster vanished. ''We've got these punks.'' She nodded, a smile still on her face. Just when they had defeated almost all of the wizards, more enemies had just arrived to ruin the moment. Frowning, she stood beside Indar, her fists clenched to her sides. As more wizards began to surround the two of them, she uncurled her fingers and spread her arms wide open in a circle-like motion, creating huge waves of air around her. This blew the remaining two off the tower as well as the 5 new wizards quite badly.

Enormous and sharp ridges formed at the edges of the waves, dealing huge damage to the remaining 5 wizards. She lifted up her hand slowly, causing 5 pillars to rise up from beneath, striking the wizards. A wizard was able to dodge the pillar successfully, firing bolts of sunlight at her. She flipped to the side swiftly, trying to duck all the attacks. Panting heavily, she stared at the floor, which looked like a hurricane had landed, holes everywhere, tiles destroyed. They've caused such chaos. Another few more attacks from Indar would probably finish them off and they can continue their way up to retrieve the girl~

Eyeing Indar carefully, Hika realised that he was stronger than she'd ever thought and was truly amazed with his magic skills. As expected from a God Slayer from Savage Skull, She thought as a smile crept up her face. It was really good meeting him back again after he left Sabertooth though they hardly ever spoke to each other when they were guild mates.

As deadly as Indar's weapon look, it deals huge amount of damage as well. With only a few attacks being used, the wizards were already defeated within a couple of minutes. ''Shall we continue?'' Hika nodded with a satisfied grin on her face. She was hoping to end this mission quickly and to return the girl to the client.

Approaching the door to the next level, her fingers trembled slightly before opening the door to the room where mysteries lie. Correction, not mysteries, more like, creatures. As soon as she opened the door, her eyes widened at the sight in front of her. The two mages with robes in all shiny and silvery attire stood in front of them. Where's the girl? Do we still have to fight them? The thought hit her. She was definitely sure that they were a lot stronger than the ones they had just fought. Even just looking at them, you can tell that they're highly-skilled fighters and are going to make it hard for both Hika and Indar to defeat them. Plus, they seemed to be extremely good at using their magic. Swallowing, she wondered how she'll be able to attack them. She'll either come back home with broken spines and bones or happily return with jewels.

Uh. Eh? Am I supposed to defeat this thing alone? A sweat drop appeared on her forehead as her lips creased into a frown slightly. Oh well, she'll manage it, no matter what. Hika was extremely stunned to see a beam of light hit Indar within just a nick of a second. It was a relief that nothing actually happened to him.

Time to get serious. Hika hoisted up her right hand in front of her, summoning 10 daggers, which were put into orbit around her. She ordered them to charge towards the enemy, without any restraint. And, so they did. Every single dagger stuck the wizard but he doesn't even seem to bat an eye. She wasn't going to give up easily.

Hika withdrew her daggers back to her before they dashed, heading to the wizard. Once again, she extended her hand, sculpting three more pillars from the ground, striking the target. The next thing she saw shook her. The wizard destroyed her daggers as well as her pillars in just two swift movements. Her mouth hanged open as a wave of fear and panic rushed over her whole body. This is not happening. How am I supposed to defeat this wizard? Her spells had never been smashed into pieces so easily before. She was deeply terrified by this monster, she didn't even know what to do anymore.

Tentatively, she took a step forward. The enemy simply stared at her with a smirk on his face. "What, is that all you've got, kid? I'm not entertained at all. I'm waiting for it. Amuse me!" Did he just underestimate her? Now, that made her so pissed off that she felt like ripping his smirk off his sickening face and burning his body into smithereens. Only if that was possible. She took a glance at Indar. He was struggling with the other one as well, though she was sure he could handle him quite easily.

Hika stole a glance at Indar, only to realise that he had turned into a beastly monster. She watched him struck countless hits at the poor wizard who then later, had his atrocious death. She was bemused with the evil side that Indar had and it actually scared her. Indar looked so different to her that Hika even wondered if the person who stood beside her was really Indar Blackshield. That aside, one of the powerful wizard was just defeated, though she couldn't celebrate their triumph at this minute. She turned her gaze back onto the remaining wizard, who was smirking down at her, his arms folded against his chest. "Too arrogant, aren't you?" She scowled at him.

The smirk on his face widened. "Come at me, kid."
Of course, I would smash you into pieces, you egoistic jerk. She thought. Swiftly, she rushed her way to the wizard, simultaneously creating a huge hammer on her hands. Before she stood close to the wizard, she slammed her hammer on the floor, producing enormous ridges along the line and stunned the enemy. She used this opportunity to dashed towards the vulnerable man and smacked her hammer on him, throwing him off into the distance.

"Iron Rock Fist!" Two huge fists emerged from the ground and attacked the enemy. Although it didn't do much damage to him, at least he was thrown off-balance from the force. Hika stood still as she created her rock shoes, while they moulded around her feet. She sprinted ahead, her speed increased second after second before she jumped slightly and twirled, attempting to lay a kick across his filthy face. Just before she landed that attack, the sunlight around the wizard's body burned her leg as she fell on the floor. "Nice try, kid. I'll give you props for this but you're still the one who's going to be dying here," He snickered. Hika shot a death glare at him.
