Fighting is like poison (Alexander/Kaligos)

Alexander was casually walking down the street, with a purpose in mind. He was going to collect a bounty in the city of Magnolia for the murder of a family. He was told to be brought to justice dead or alive, but with Rune Knights still spread out thin from Era incident and the fact that most prisons were understaffed lately... It was easier to just go with Dead aspect of job. So Alexander casually walked in the tavern where his target was and callously walked behind him. Confirming his identity in the bar mirror he walked up behind the target and shot him back in the head at point blank range. Brains splattered all over the tavern and then there was chaos and panic. Mission accomplished, now it was time to collect his reward. What Alexander did was legal, but did not enjoy it. Killing was never supposed to be enjoyable after all...

Alexander cut off the finger needed to identify target and placed it in his pocket. He intended to escape in the crowd, but his walking out of the scene may not be as clean as he originally thought.

Kaligos sat at the counter of a bar in magnolia. One of the few still willing to serve him around the town actually now that he thought about it. It was odd but apparently places did not take kindly to him eating the ceramic glasses they served drinks with. He sat back drinking non alcoholic cranberry juice, the down to earth flavor was rich and well worth what ever jewls he had payed for the drink. He sat at the counter thinking over his recent work having just getting back in town from one of the worst, and yet greatest jobs he had ever done he still had a number of feelings mixed at the moment.

He wasn't really paying any attention too anything else in the bar until the loud bang that echo'd through the bar. Kaligos turned around to say the brains of a man sprayed out across a table, and the person who had just shot him standing over his body. He paused for a moment, taking a long moment as the man started to walk out the door to finish his drink. Then Kaligos got up. He wasn't sure who was about to regret this, most probably it was the bar, and then he stood up.

"Well that was rather cowardly." He said loud enough that he knew everyone in the bar (most of whom were still in shocked silence) could hear. He let out a long sigh knowing he was about to walk into something that was far more trouble then it was actually worth, but at the same time a man had just died, but more then that he had died poorly. He didn't care what the reason was, no one on this earth deserved to die poorly. Kaligos scratched the back of his long dark blue hair, his violet eyes stairing at the man who was seemingly just planning on walking out. "I can't just let you walk away now so I guess that means we are about to have a problem. So since I could have taken this moment to attack you in retribution, why don't we do the proper thing."

Kaligos's bare feet shifted lightly under him as he dropped into a boxing stance. "I am only going to request this once, drop the guns, and lets do this properly." He had no idea what was about to happen but the day just got interesting that was for sure. "Let
us fight like true and proper gentlemen."

Alexander just eyed the newcomer calmly and looked at him. He had fire alright and would definitely pose some kind of fight, but there was one problem. Alexander did not want to fight in a public area where others get burned. There was still too many people that could get hurt, but the stranger looked like he did not care. So the slayer shrugged, "Maybe, but it ended a possible barfight where innocents could get hurt... Sometimes I don't have the luxury to be a gentleman and fight normally." He then looked at the lumped corpse and back at him.

A fight was inevitable, it was assured. However the man made a request and thus Alexander made his. Alexander said, "I will drop the guns on the condition of one thing... We fight somewhere else but here. I wont ruin a livelihood when we could have chosen another location. As mages we owe the citizens that kind of honor. Don't you agree. Alexander was being honest with his actions and sheathed his guns. It would be a trade, a gentleman's duel for a proper location that wouldn't harm civilians. Best of both worlds.

Kaligos looked around he was more then ready to fight here and now, and really once a challenge was offered the location of it shouldn't matter! still the insistance that he would only drop the guns if no one else was put in harms way was if even a little misguided was rather nobly gallant. However, it wouldn't matter where they went to fight these things would always incure a considerable amount of collateral damage around them.

Kaligos pointed to the emblem on his shoulder, the bright teal... chicken on a sled, marked him as a fairy tail wizard. "I issued you the challenge, and if you think I am gonna give up a home field advantage just because a tavern or some people could get hurt you have obviously never heard of Fairy Tail!" Kaligos said with a rather defiant look He was ready to lock strengths with this guy. The others around them were already running for their lives. Given another minute or two there wouldn't be anyone left inside the bar, and most people even seemed to run a little faster when the name Fairy Tail was mentioned. "Or maybe you just want to run from a fair fight."

Alexander actually looked sad in the end of what Kaligos said, it was obvious in his face that he did not want to fight. It would cause people to be hurt, a property that people work hard for to be destroyed. Alcohol that would be destroyed and someone that did not care for the livelihood that would be destroyed. Alexander had no time for this, he was not going to be the cause of misery and pain. He looked up to the man and did the one thing as a sign of complete disrespect. He turned his back on the man and started walking to the back entrance saying, “Then you are no gentleman if you desire to hurt those that deem innocent. You have no honor that comes with being a gentleman and thus get no respect from me. Good day.” He proceeded to walk away, but knew that the mage was going to try and stop him, because Pride was one of the deadliest of sins. Alexander pushed the doors into the kitchen and started to proceed into the room…

"You say that after you shot a guy in the back of the head, and then you are gonna try and ride the high horse out of a tavern you just stained in blood?" Kaligos walked foward into the middle of the bar for a moment looking around. "No one is going to feel safe in this bar, not for a long time after this incident. This is the kind of stuff that breaks the back of the working class. So you can't exactly call either of us innoscent, but still I'm not the one turning their back after getting blood on their hands."

Kaligos took in one final breath, if this didn't work then he was going to have to throw the first punch, and in all truth he hated doing that. He would much rather act not as the aggressor but as the one who ends the fight. Either way though he couldn't let this bastard get away with what he had done. "It's just you and me, and this bar that is probably gonna get burned to the ground for what you did, so what? are you gonna try and take this out into the streets of the city where children play? or keep it in an establishment that is used by men."

Alexander paused at what Kaligos said, the man was getting on his nerves. The Fire Demon slayer looked at him in the eye and simply said, "There is no such thing as innocence. Only degrees of guilt. No person is truly innocent or guilty. We are shades of grey in this world of colors." Alexander unbuckled his belt with guns and unsheathed his sword. He would fight this as fair as he could, but otherwise... He would not throw the first blow though. He would settle this the old fashion way.

Grabbing a bottle he stated, "When the bottle shatters in the ground, we make our move." He then flung the bottle in the air and let it hit the floor, shattering it tiny pieces. Alexander made no magic attack, but took a defensive stance. He did not want to give out the first punch.

Kaligos smiled lightly as he finally got his way, his eyes watched the bottle, a battle marker was perfect for this kind of occasion. Kaligos got into his battle stance, and let out a small sigh of relief it seemed like he would get to finish what he started after all. His eyes watched the bottle in anticipation, his breathing became a little more heavy getting into the fighting mood. They were gonna do this right no doubt about that. "Good to see we can do this properly, of course that still means we have to go balls out."

There was a crash and then Kaligos was more like a blur of motion then a person. Charging in as fast as he could his body twisted as he ran jumping his bare foot caught the edge of the counter launching him just a little higher into the air towards his enemy. His fists glowed a bright green for a moment his hands turning to crystal while in the air before he brought them down at Alexander. It was practically in slow motion as the heavy claws took the high road it's destination being Alex's face. "Here we go, Claws of the earth dragon!"

Alexander watched as the battle started, the boy was fast. That was to say the least, but what came next what interested him. Crystal claws? Bloody hell, hes an earth mage. The claws ripped though Alexanders skin and caused fresh blood to draw. Did it hurt? Yes. Was it bad? Well most people would be dead or crippled from that attack, but otherwise all it did was piss Alexander off slightly. He stepped back slightly and looked at the blood in his hands. He commented, "Been a while since somebody drew blood on me. Sadly its not enough boy. If you want to beat me, then you have to attack like you are trying to kill me." Alexander was looking at Kaligos with bored eyes, but otherwise was still in pretty good shape. It was almost as if he was toying with him.
