Sure, thousands of stories exist about this very thing being catastrophic for the individual. But there has to be something out there. The world is a very big place, after all.

It's why--while she might not be the biggest fan of it--she can be given orders to follow and be reasonably expected to do as requested if it isn't directly harmful to herself. However, orders and requests aren't what drive her to keep going every day. That can be chalked up to her own curiosity.

Of course, nobody is entirely good. Anya is most certainly no clean slate herself. In fact, she is quite the vindictive spirit. While not incredibly quick to hold a grudge, she is certainly one to allow it to sway her own choices. As a result, she is keen to enjoy in the suffering of those who have wronged her, and spews nothing but venom about them. In her mind, bad things happening to those who have earned her ire is a form of cosmic retribution. And while she is more than willing to at least put a passing effort into making friends, to call her innocent would be far from the truth.

In fact, Anya is always bracing herself for one reason or another. Her emotional guard never truly drops, as she's always expecting someone or something to lash out at her. Call it cynicism, call it trauma. The end result is the same. A deep seated worry. Is she always aware of it? No. But from time to time, that little voice can become very loud.


Likes:

• Her Family (Found): While she might not have been fortunate enough to have a good relationship--or even a chance at making one--with her own family, Anya still holds at least some degree of respect for the concept of family. This is why being presented with the ability to choose those who she considers family is something that makes her happy. It gives her control, for once. She is able to choose who to let in, and who to keep at a distance. For those who manage to become part of the former category, they will find that Anya is a 'ride or die' sort of person with those she considers to be part of her 'found family'.
  
  
• Drinking: Like with all individuals that had something extremely strictly withheld from them, Anya gained an immense affinity for Alcohol after finally escaping the situation she had been in. Of all spirits, her own personal favorites are known to be Rum and Absinthe. Though, one might want to keep an eye on her. She does have a tendency to get a touch too deep in her cups if left entirely unsupervised, after all.
  
  
• Exploration: Being confined to a single building for much of one's life tends to engender a deep sense of wanderlust. As result of this, Anya deeply enjoys the freedom she has been granted. Doing her best to take advantage of it at every turn she has found herself in all sorts of exotic locales all around the world. And she has adored every second of it.
  
  
• Learning: While Anya was indeed given enough of an education to be able to function properly as an adult--as well as a servant--she never developed the disdain towards learning that most other children gained. Her work was brought home to her by her younger brother. Without the traditional pressures of a classroom, Anya slowly but surely came to love the act of learning new things. Now that she has been freed, she's been taking her time learning as much as she can find.
  

Dislikes:

• Her Family (Biological): For her entire life, Anya was treated poorly by her family. Treated like dirt for simply being a girl, she was subject to the abhorrent first half of the "Cinderella Experience" for all of her formative years, and even her first years of early adulthood. All the while, her effective existence as a slave was treated as an open secret by the extended family. All of whom had never even met the poor girl once. As a result, she has come to actively despise those who remain of her family. She hasn't decided on if they will be tracked down and systematically butchered or not yet. But every day the needle swings.
  
  
• Nobility: An extension of her hatred of her own family, Anya has grown to despise all things related to 'high class' living and the 'noble class'. She views them as emotionally stunted, horrible individuals so focused on wealth and the accumulation of it that they've become incapable of even basic empathy.
  
  
• Smoke/Smoking: High Society has many vices. Expensive food, even more expensive booze. But the one vice that has always despised is their love of smoking. Cigars, Cigarettes, more illicit substances. The scent of smoke is one that she actively despises, along with it causing a relatively large amount of nausea.
  
  
• Isolation: While Anya is no stranger to being isolated and alone, such situations remind her all too well of her past. As a result, Anya does her best to always be around other people unless absolutely necessary that she be alone. This means she is likely to frequent gathering places like bars or clubs, simply due to their nature as entertainment venues bringing in more people. Of course, the fact that being alone means there's also nobody to steal from adds to it.
  

Motivations:

• Self-Discovery: As a child who was isolated and treated as the whipping post of their home, Anya has had too little of a chance to really dig deep and figure out who she is. The constant need for adventure and excitement isn't her motivation, but merely a byproduct of her need to expose herself to new things, to become more aware of just who she is underneath it all.
  
  
• Sticking it to the Wealthy: While Anya did in fact inherit nothing from her family, in her opinion it was all the better. Being mistreated for so long by those in the 'in' group has grown within her an intense desire to put these types of people through the same distress. As a result, Anya takes great joy in the acts of Burglary and Piracy that she commits. In her mind, simply taking away what the rich hold so dearly is a direct slap in the face to everything they hold dear. Of course, should they desire to have anything of a more material nature back, they can always pay for it..at an exorbitant upcharge. As long as there are wealthy people to take from as well as pain in her heart, Anya's job will never truly be done.
  
  
• Seeking Immortality: While not likely to admit it, what happened in her home did shake Anya. Death as a concept is something that brings a creeping sense of existential dread into her mind. As a result, she is constantly following any lead that might put her closer and closer to being able to avoid death further. Sure, thousands of stories exist about this very thing being catastrophic for the individual. But there has to be something out there. The world is a very big place, after all.
  

Fears:

• Death: The concept of death is more than just a mere concept to Anya. Her freedom came at a great cost of bloodshed. At a very young age, she found herself bearing witness to death on a relatively large scale. She was lucky enough to not bear witness to the bloodshed itself. But that experience has certainly made her unable to be at peace with the idea of death being able to claim her at any moment.
  
  
• Claustrophobia: Being kept in a confined space for extended periods of time is a very good way to warp one's mental state. For Anya, this takes on the form of Claustrophobia. Thankfully, it is not so severe that she can't be indoors or in crowds. However, in a smaller space, such as say, a heavily furnished, single bedroom? The sense of walls closing in finds its way in eventually..
  
  
• 'It Was All A Dream': While not always a worry she is aware of in the moment, Anya is constantly dealing with an irrational fear in the back of her mind. That one day, she'll go to bed..only to wake up right back where it all began, with nothing having actually changed. Her greatest fear is for this gift, her new life, her freedom? For all of it to simply be a delusion. Perhaps the only thing that causes a deeper sense of dread is the idea of Death itself.
