Port cities seemed to always be a very good catalyst for good themed holiday events and when it came to Halloween, some of the crews of the docked ships go all out in impressing the others for an annual contest of its own. Something very hard to know of if you were not a local, she had come across it during a job a couple years prior on a job and became enthralled with the spectacular work that was put into this little contest. It was a simple one, but the craftsmanship, detail, and dedication to it all was so different and exciting that she had to come back each year and enjoy the festivities with the same appearance that she'd been in when she first came to. Not to mention she had not really been using this one ever since the... disassembling. Getting the dust brushed away and spending some time being in a familiar state of mind was a relaxing change of pace as well. She thought Bastila or Medeia would enjoy this with her, but holidays were always something that came as a push and shove for her so the idea of being in an unfit attitude felt selfish and rude to either of them. Desiree was another choice she thought to bring along as her attitude was a chipper point that she could hopefully be able to bounce off of and perk up herself. Yet, in the end, she chose to not chance ruining their enjoyment of the events wherever they may end up and went out as a ghost... per say. Though nothing too fancy could be used for an attire as ever since the Pumpkin King incident, she had been a bit spectacle about Halloween events and their tendency to attract the underbelly of magical existence.

The bare porcelain feet of the doll trailed down each path moving into town. The view from the top of the town was a magnificent view, however to truly immerse herself into the event, she had to go and join the crowd. Peering over the designs of the different ships in port for this years contest was extremely breathtaking, and more so that this year they had included the idea to turn them into Haunted ships in order to enhance the experience! However, there had been a little time before they opened up the event to the public and went upon some safety inspections prior to the tours. In that time, Sakura slipped away into a bit of a usual, but small food shop that she had visited on occasion. A somewhat stocky male had been standing at the counter. A smile lit his face as the few customers in the shop had been happily enjoying their meals. Climbing up onto a stool in as close to a corner as she could get, the male turned to see the doll sitting up and pulling the hood down from over her head from the outfit she had on for the event and smiled. "Oh, long time, no see, squirt!" He spoke in a normal, but slightly excited voice. He leaned onto the counter across from her, setting down a receipt pad and a pen. "I take it you're here for the events again? We missed you last year and there was a strange ghost ship in the water that sunk two of the competing ships." He explained, seeming in his expression that it was rather serious, yet despairing to hear. "And last year I fought a haunted pumpkin patch." After a moment of silence from giving her reply, he burst out in laughter. Apparently he thought she was kidding, but she wasn't about to correct him either.

"Anyway, that's a nice costume you have there. But I wasn't really expecting someone who avoids habits to be here again. Still, it's good to see you again, squirt." He had recalled a prior conversation from their last meeting that she had not kept to routines because she disliked predictability. "What can I say? Your Ramen is worth the trip every time. Can I have one supreme bowl please? May as well get full before enjoying the festival."

With her meal finished and moving on towards the open festivities, a womans voice called over for the attention of the masses. She was offering a mystery punch with spooky side-effects! All of them guaranteed to be temporary, but it seemed interesting enough. Who knew if it could have an effect on the doll body, but only one way to really find out. Walking over, Sakura reached up and grabbed the first cup she could reach and placed it up to the porcelain lips. pouring some into her mouth, the second it hit her tongue, she felt such a sour and repulsive taste hit her tongue. The horrid taste was like nothing she had ever endured before and the sour sensation was more akin to rotted food than the actual sour bitterness. The dressed up doll immediately spat her drink out onto the ground without any hesitation or thought and albeit wheezed from the bad taste. Several people including the concession woman laughed a little, but they also had the same experience. She handed over a candy corn to the doll in place of her cup and gave her a cup of salt water to wash the taste out. One candy. 1/3

The rainbow slayer quickly chugged the water, swishing it about in her mouth before the taste seemed to be utterly refreshing to her. A nearby trash can collected her now empty cup and moved along before a scream caught her attention. Many nearby people started fleeing towards the docks. A single man calmly walked into view of the emptying event area with blood dripping from the claws on the back of his hand. The two quickly locked eyes and the dolls narrowed as he put on a sinister grin. With one step, he took off at an extremely high rate of speed in which she had not seen coming. The claws made a hard clang of meeting metal of some form, quickly finding that a spectral being holding a shield had taken the blow for her. Wasting no time, Sakura ducked under the legs of her spirit guardian and dashed forward with the push of her light form. A rush of ice and snow covering the air around her crashed into the torso of the uninvited guest and sent him back nearly across the courtyard.

Shaking off the blow, the strange looking man got up and as he had, the spectral guardian behind Sakura dropped down and soon dissipated. "Wh-What!?" She turned away to look at him when a sound pulled her away from her summoned companions help. The bladed hand swung down and struck her across the chest, tearing through the porcelain body like butter before being sent backward from the momentum. The metal scraping against more porcelain made the doll look down to see the claws had dug straight through her body. How was he in two places at once!? Well, it was a good thing she chose to use the doll form for this trip after all or she may have actually died.

A smirk came to the idol's face as the burned mans breathing slowly became heavier and heavier. His arms began to shake and quickly it grew colder and colder. His hand began to become encased in ice and quickly spread up to his elbow before he managed to pull it from the doll. Turning around, the smirk remained on her face as one hand raised to face the aggressor. Her hand also began to become encased in ice, however the oddly blue colored ice grew and shaped itself into what looked to be a large arm and hand. Cocking her arm back, the ice balled itself perfectly into a fist and a harsh, cold blow was delivered into the gut of the killer. Doubled over, the cold and pain of the punch and subsequent air of cold from the doll had rendered him unconscious. From his pocket fell a candy corn, which she picked up and placed with the one from the woman at the punch stand. At least now the festivities could continue. One candy. 2/3

The Rune Knights quickly stormed in and assessed the situation and make sure to securely detain the murderous male while getting someone to tend to his wounds. A quick scan of the doll had shown that she in fact was not hurt at all, minus the few holes in the porcelain body she was inhabiting. Suddenly, the male had woken up with a frantic ruckus that drew the attention of everyone around. Using that moment, Sakura took the chance to sneak away from the group and try to move her way around to somewhere that she couldn't be found. Ice had quickly sealed up her damaged form for the time being until she could get it repaired herself. Until then, she had to make sure that she was able to move along to somewhere she could try and collect herself.

The doll suddenly crossed a maze and quickly shot inside of it in order to get some time to relax and unwind. Though the maze quickly was discovered to be the opposite of that. Full of small jump scares and places where people were supposed to pop out of to scare others, they had all fled from those posts when that person had attacked. It left the jump scares to be little more than an annoying interference than anything else. Little cut out ghosts, scarecrows leaning out from behind piles of hay bales were a little more than something she wished to freeze and shatter, however she had not the time to do so. Her job was just to plan her next move and get out before she could have to deal with the Rune Knights herself. Part of her old job was sticking to the shadows around them, so she had to make sure this look did just that. Never taking a chance to allow herself any connection if any existed at all.

Reaching the end of the maze brought her no joy but that she didn't have to deal with it any longer. Giving no enjoyment but that she could walk away, a small sound from a cave ahead got her to stop. The sound of feminine in origin and it seemed... familiar to her. Was she hearing things all of a sudden? Looking around, the dolls eyes spotted a sign calling this the "Test of Courage". Was this a good idea to go into? Well, given she had little choice in that it was that or try to make her way through a town being littered with more and more Rune Knights by the moment wanting to check for any other injured or murdered folks, she decided to duck into the cave and take this test anyway.

Upon stepping into the cave, everything shifted quickly. The sound of a thump behind her and a rush of senses hitting her body caused her to freeze and turn around. Two steps into the cave, the inside of the cave forced the idol to separate from the doll body she'd been inhabiting and it frankly felt a little too strange for her liking. Again, the giggling sound followed by that of footsteps ahead got her heart racing. What kind of test could involve some little kid type giggling. Was this like some sort of build up to the reveal of something completely innocent meant to trick you? Well, with only one way to find out, the rainbow slayer moved further into the cave after pulling the doll body in as well and hiding it from plain sight.

A light down the way from the entrance lit up, revealing the shadow of a person that quickly vanished from sight. With just a gulp, the idol made her way down the tunnel and into the room. She was utterly shocked to see what was inside of a room like this... nothing. It was void of anything but a lilac colored wall and a single light to illuminate it. "Hey there, sis!" A sudden voice chimed in. Sakura let out a shriek and jumped, turning around and suddenly realizing that her magic did nothing here. Then, she set her eyes on the sound of the voice. -A girl stood there, smiling happily before fixing the glasses on her face up a bit. There was a look of fear that grew in her eyes and on her face seeing the girl walking around freely. "W-Who are you?" She barely sputtered out.

The girl simply smiled and stepped closer, met with the response of a step back from the blue haired idol. "Oh that hurts! Has it been so long you forgot your own body!?" She replied, holding out a hand for a little handshake. "I'm Sakura Kisagami, of course! Well, I used to be! I've been renamed though because a certain idol girl is too famous now!~" With a wink, she quickly yanked her hand back to her side and hopped forward towards Sakura. "G-Get away from me!" She yelled, shoving the girl back and unable to do even that. "God, sis. You're so rude! Aren't you glad that this can move so freely! Anyway, the ward my lord gave me is about to give out, so I can't be in here." The girl spun around on her heels until her back was to the cave entrance and slowly began to back up, still looking on toward Sakura. "I promise to take good care of this body by the way! Until next time!" With that, the girl began to walk into the darkness of the cave and soon dart towards the entrance.

Giving chase, Sakura ran out to the entrance of the cave where the girl had vanished from sight completely. Her scent betrayed her, unable to pick up on it at all. "How..." Setting her hands into the pockets of the jeans she wore in her normal body, she felt another candy in her pocket. Just another added mystery of what was going on with this night. "I need to talk to mom immediately... in person." Pulling an iLac from her other pocket, she quickly typed a number in and held the phone to her ear. "Mom, get home as soon as possible. We need to talk, NOW... It's about 'the disease'." She had used a term that she knew Bastila would recognize to be the past that they tried so hard to move past, but it seemed yet again it was coming back to haunt them. One Candy. 3/3
