    Magic Name: Nihilistic Fae

    Ancient[Solitary][+50% Spell Durability]

    Description:


    In a time that has longed past there were beings known as Fae that shunned the concept of Gods. Taking fate into their own hands they lived alone, and did nothing more than devote themselves to the cultivation of mana. Fore what they craved was power, and not faith. These people stood along humanity, but simply observed rather than get involved in their world. Soon enough their isolation had no other path, but to doom them. Dying out they entered human society, and mingled with them. Soon enough their pure bloodline was dimmed, and those few that remained had lost all knowledge of the past generations. A particular Arch mage that was born on the more powerful side also held the ability to use this magic, but adapted to the color aspect more than anything else.

    Now this magic is only awakened in those whom hold the spark of this bloodline within them, and are draw to places where its knowledge dwells. Those that do find their way to it will be able to call upon a mysterious gray light that acts both in a tangible, and intangible fashion. Defense was the best offense, and well time counter could completely turn the odds. Which is why the main spells of the magic are barriers of various shapes, sizes, and functionalities. It primarily involves reflecting opposing spells of lower rank back at the foe, but only one at once. Even then the barriers that are conjured have been known to be quite the fragile structures. Physical attacks can easily shatter them, but less dense magic would have a harder time penetrating its defenses.

    Why? Some spells within the magic possess traits that reflect magic, or rather redirect it by dispersing the spell over its surface. So it works more effectively on Water, Fire, and similar magic types. While Earth, Metal, and even glass are more effective against it due to their more solid nature. Makes them more difficult to disperse, and thus the damage output isn't reduced.  While there are offensive spells they are a bit strange. Most require a barrier to have been broken beforehand so that one may manipulate the shards for the sake of another spell. Beyond this the magic can be used to coat weapons, or people in barriers that turn even sharp blades into blunt objects.


    Unique Abilities:



    (D)Chameleons' Edge:
    An ability that temporarily reverses the defensive nature of barrier based spells by causing them to possess jagged edges, or spikes for the duration of a single post. When met with an offensive force the newly improved barriers will fire off these spikes, and jagged edges in hopes of impaling the attacker for 5 melee damage for every 4 shards that makes direct contact.

    (B)Shallow Shattering:
    A passive ability that occurs when one, or more of his barriers has been shattered in one thread. A few of the shards will layer themselves onto the body of Xperia, and actively strive to resist 20% of all damage that spells can cause to him.

    (S)Nulling Light:
    Underneath the light of a moon the magic of Xperia is influenced, and then strengthened by it. He absorbs the light, and directly converts it into extra mana that is applied to the spells he decides to cast. Be that artificial moonlight, or the real deal. Through this method his defensive spells will have their durability enhanced by 50% for 3 posts.[/b]
