Post by Yoruen Jinryu 5th April 2020, 10:11 pm

It was a rather unpleasant morning, with hot and humid weather that made everyone out and about sweat profusely and their clothes sticking to their sweat bodies. There was barely a cloud in the blue skies, and the roadside stalls selling beverages were experiencing a boom in their business as people couldn’t stand the heat and had to settle for some cool drinks to lower their temperature. Izou wasn’t faring that well either, sitting at the front tables of a small coffee shop, drinking his iced latte.

Sweat still dripped from his brows as he sipped on his iced drink, a terribly frustrated look on his face. The hoodie that he would usually wear was already stripped off and placed on the chair beside him, leaving him in just a white short sleeved T-shirt. He had been stationed in Clover Town for the past week, his hands full working on a mission that involved a group of masked men that was also called the Masked Guild. They were a dark guild of unknown origins and background, but for the past week, they had been wreaking havoc in Clover.

He didn’t know their intentions but in this one week, members of the Masked Guild had been creating havoc all over Clover and all of the time, those were merely distractions. Their main goal was to breach the Guild Masters Hall in Clover Town, but none of them had revealed their plans when Izou captured them. So far there had already been five of them in the town’s prison, to be sent away to Amber Island when all this was over.

And today, as always, Izou was seated on the second floor balcony of the narrow coffee shop, right in the path of the sun’s rays while looking at the Guild Masters Hall opposite. He had only been notified of the job three days after the first attack, which meant he had encountered the members of the Masked Guilds twice in the remaining four days of the week with the third encounter taking place two days ago. He had been sitting in the coffee shop since, ordering cup after cup of coffee, waiting for the members of the Masked Guild to arrive.

Three more cups later in the sweltering heat, his patience paid off. Five men, armed with spears, dressed in black cloaks and with a silver mask covering their face, appeared sneakily from an isolated alley and made a beeline for the entrance to the Guild Masters Hall.
“Wow, how dumb can they be?” Izou commented to no one, and then to the waiter tending to the second floor, “Aida, I will be right back!”

With that Izou placed his right hand on the balcony and vaulted over it before leaping off the balcony. As he flew through the air, the Dies Irae mage’s body was engulfed in orange light, spiralling from top to bottom. A long red beam of light appeared in Izou’s right hand and when all the light had died out, the knight errant landed on the ground in a crouch before charging at the five men, fully dressed in his red, silver and blue armor equipped with a red spear.

“Sky Strike! Dragon Tooth! Falling Flower Palm!” the young knight shouted out in rapid succession, the frustration from the heat and wait boiling over into his enthusiasm for combat. The first cloaked mage that stood in his way was treated to a diagonal slash aimed upwards, Izou performing the slash with a single hand on his spear while he moved. The spell threw the cloaked mage up into the air before he came crashing back down to the ground. By the time he struggled to get to his feet, Izou had already moved to the second target running at him, pulling his spear back slightly before thrusting it forward to stab into the target and push him back. The third one attacking from the left was accounted for as well, as Izou pushed his left arm with his open palm to the side, blasting the mage with a burst of energy from his palm.

The remaining two cloaked men exchanged a glance with each other before splitting up to run in separate directions. Each one pulled up one of their fallen teammates as they escaped, helping them up to flee as well. Without the sufficient manpower to hold them down, Izou could only click his tongue in anger and turned to the one they had left behind. He had been the one hit by Dragon Tooth and even if he had tried to flee, he would have been too slow.

When he was finally done with the interrogation, Izou quickly pulled up his iLac and sent a message to his Guild Leader, Ambassador Johann.

“Boss. Need more men. Clover Town. Dark guild wreaking havoc.”

    The Masked Guild BEwsIGz

The weather on Amber Island was not unlike that in Clover Town, the sun beating down harshly upon the speck of land surrounded by the vast ocean, though it was the sea that helped somewhat. Oceanic climates were, after all, at least a little milder when compared to their inland counterparts. Regardless, it was evident that spring would soon pass into summer, the inhabitants of the island, accompanied by their families and friends, flocking to the sandy, white beaches bordering the nigh crystal-clear waters. The Ambassador quietly wished he, too, could just sneak out for a trip to the beach, though it would appear that the occasional view of the ocean from the window of his and Sivvy's shared office would be all he would get today. Johann sighed, his eyes resting on the small stack of paper next to him for a few seconds. It seemed that leading a guild wouldn't become an easier task as time went by. Quite the contrary, actually. As more and more members joined and the guild expanded, as more people moved to Amber Island and made it their home, so would the workload increase in proportion. Gone were the days of leisurely enjoyed amenities and recreation, and while the silver-haired God of Ishgar did miss it, and sometimes wished for a different fate entirely, it wasn't meant to be. In the end, he would relent and decided to return to his work. It was, after all, for a good cause, in a sense.

Of course, what the man hadn't necessarily anticipated was the nervous, quick series of knocks that would be cast against the door of the office, his eyes darting up from the white sheet he'd blankly stared down upon previously. "Come in", he spoke quickly, wondering what this interruption might be about. The door, on his command, swung open, a young Soldier of the guild quickly entering, giving the man a practiced, although somewhat stiff salute. Johann nodded, repeating the motion. "At ease, Soldier", the silver-haired man prompted the blonde, who was clad in a white and red uniform, most of his hair, bar the sides, which had been shaven to a short stubble, hidden under a barret of similar color scheme to the uniform. "Sir", the man nodded, relaxing his tensed stance somewhat. "How can I help you?". Johann wasn't one for beating around the bush, the Soldier, who seemed to have some kind of issue, approaching the desk with a few hasty steps, pulling out some kind of device from behind his back. "Ambassador, we have received a distress signal from one of our Soldiers in Clover Town. Apparently, the signal was meant for you, Sir, but ...", the young man didn't necessarily mean to allude to the Ambassador's obvious lack of an iLac to receive such a signal, the Ambassador himself, meanwhile, studying the device the Soldier had presented him with, entirely unsure what he was actually looking at, and indeed, surprised that the guild even had the capacity to receive such calls and signals "-Well, regardless, he is requesting reinforcements. It seems that there has been contact with a Dark Guild".

At the mention of this information, broken down in a manner the God of Ishgar with a lack of understanding as to how the device functioned would understand, he rose from his seat, holding back an exclamation that would praise the Gods he may or may not believed in. This was the perfect excuse to get out of this, and the Ambassador acknowledged this opportunity as such. Still, he couldn't hide the hint of a grin on his face, and the flicker of anticipation in his eyes, glad that he was the recipient of said message, even if indirectly. "I see. Thank you, Soldier. Pass this information on to whomever else is available at the moment. Also give them the exact location". The Soldier responded with the obligatory "Yes, Sir!". "Further, I will see to this matter personally, as well. Let Ambassador Sivvy or Commander West know that I am on this mission, should you find them". The blonde man looked slightly perplexed. though he would nod in response. "Good. Dismissed". He turned, leaving the office and closing the door behind him. Johann smirked, picking up the hat that completed his black uniform, tucking the longest strands of silver hair underneath as he placed it on his head. "Finally some time to stretch my legs ...". Unceremoniously, the God of Ishgar turned around, approaching the window behind him and opening it, taking a breath, before leaping out, vanishing into thin air as soon as he had left the confines of the room.

With a flash of magical energy and a gust of wind, the Ambassador would appear on a street in Clover Town, straightening himself up, the first thing he noticed the boiling heat and the relentless sunshine that bore down on this normally so peaceful little city. This was normally where the Guild Masters would meet for their annual conference, though Johann had yet to bear witness or be invited to such. Dies Irae hadn't existed for a year, though, making that fact understandable. He let his eyes wander, the second thing he noticed, apart from the apparently confused bystanders, the armored man not too far off, he, upon closer inspection, carrying the guild mark upon his hand. Johann's lips curled into a smile, slow, almost calm, but confident stride taking him closer to the man that was undoubtedly part of Dies Irae. "You called for reinforcements, Soldier?" he asked, raising his hand to a leisurely presented salute, his gaze falling on the defeated dark mage on the ground before turning back to the dark-haired Soldier. "Well, they should arrive soon, it seems. For now you'll have to make do with me. What's the situation?".

Generally there was a protocol when arriving for reinforcements. Reinforcements should arrive together so as to fully provide an immediate impact. Illya, however, seemed to have a notorious lack of discipline in protocol matters. Once the news came to her and a few other members of Dies Irae, Illya rushed to her quarters, asking for Yemaya's aid to quickly arrive to the scene within Clover Town, rushing to switch into her uniform as Yemaya fluttered outside her window and morphed into a larger form. She was just about to leave when she realized that she should try out her new "toy" on these dark mages, a large ax that's head seemed to dwarf her own. She grabbed the axe and clambered out of her window before leaping onto the back of Yemaya. She had already told her fellow comrades that she would be moving on ahead. Perhaps she could impress Ambassador von Weiss with her haste to arriving before all else? That was her hope at least, her mind completely unfocused from protocol and procedure. Yemaya burst ahead in speed as quickly as she possibly could, the duo darting their way towards Clover Town to provide assistance. It would still take some time, but she hoped she could arrive quickly enough to provide a good enough assist.

They made quick time, though Illya saw that she unfortunately was not the first one to arrive. She leaped off the back of Yemaya, rolling as she landed and quickly springing up to her feet, seeing her Ambassador in front of her. "Ambassador von Weiss!" she called, saluting and taking a step forwards, tripping on a rock as her ax flew ahead of her. She scrambled to get up to her feet, picking up the axe and saluting again. "I came here as quickly as I could once I heard that reinforcements were needed! Although, I don't know how much help I'll be since we have you around, Ambassador, but I am perfectly fine with providing as much assistance as I possibly can for Dies Irae!" She turned towards the black-haired man, who seemed to be the one that called for the reinforcements. "Illya Pegasus, reporting for duty! We got a dark guild? Don't worry! I'm perfectly ready and prepared to help cut them all down! Don't worry, if you need me in a support role, I'm perfectly willing to help, just... let me get at least a few kills in, okay?" She giggled and flashed a wink, ready for what her next orders were.

Masha's gloves were covered in blood. Blood drenched her apron. Sprays of it decorated the walls of the room. A pool of blood lay below the table she stood before. Anyone not familiar with her work - which was everyone right now - would think a horrific murder had happened here. Or rather a horrific murder was in the process. Her patient was very much alive. "Hush now, don't whine" She chided her patient as the male whimpered through his gag. Her hand had twisted, sending a little bit of magic into him. That magic worked to alter his natural form in such a way his kids would inherit the change. Well, not this patient specifically, but those that benefited from this experiment. "You signed a binding magical contract. Your body to be used in my experiments, in return, I didn't murder you like I did all your pals!" She smiled widely behind the mask covering her face. "I never guaranteed anesthesia and besides, that keeps me from knowing if it worked or not." The section of muscle she'd been working on, tightened suddenly.

Masha clapped excitedly. It had been a success! If this man had lived, he'd be able to carry ten times the amount he normally would have. Without magic. Her next project was to combine the temporary body armor - all natural of course - with this one. Most likely a few of her patients would die in the process. "Well, you're all done!" Masha said happily, folding the skin back into place. She ran her finger down the seam, letting her magic heal the wound. When the male didn't pop of the table, Masha poked him. "Hey. You're done? Time for your 'oh I'm healed, lets attack' routine? All of you try it eventually" The redhead waited a few more minutes. When the patient didn't move, she crouched down. The man's eyes were glazed over, looking out into the distance. "Oh, by the crotch hairs of the Most Evil." Masha swore. What had killed this one? She thought she'd had everything perfect.

The redhead straightened, intent on figuring out what went wrong. A knock startled her out of work mode. Someone stuck their head in the room. "Ambassador von Weiss has called for all those available to reinforce a soldier in Clover Town." They announced formally. Masha sighed, stripping off her gloves. All of her experiments were done on her free time so technically this could wait. "Please preserve that until I get back. He died unexpectedly and I would hate for that to happen to a real patient." She pulled the apron over her head. Uniform clean? A quick glance marked it as spotless. Excellent. Masha had ruined at least three uniforms already. She'd tried doing experiments naked except for the apron. Her face burned remembering the incident that had led to.

Oh! Now she could test out a new application of her magic too. When Masha got out of HQ, she bent her knees a couple times. Magic vibrated through her being. Each of her cells were saturated with it. As Masha straightened, she launched herself into the air. The telltale sound of splitting stone cracked through the air. The redhead winced, realizing the technique probably needed some refining. She'd probably lost a fair chunk of her next paycheck for those repairs. Masha sighed but turned her face into the wind. There were some bad guys that needed capturing - uh defeating. Fresh meat for her experiments. She poured magic into her feet, causing several sonic booms increasing her speed.

The redhead landed near a familiar figure. Johann von Weiss cut an impressive figure at that. She could only hope to eventually exude that much class. "Hello, Ambassador von Weiss." There were a few other DI members there. One was male and holding a spear. The other was a pinkette female with an overly large axe. Masha didn't think she'd seen either one of them before. "Hey! My name is Masha! It's so good to meet more Dies Irae members! I hope we can be the best of friends! What are your names by the way?" She spoke rapidly, then furrowed her brow. "What are we doing here anyways? Why the need for reinforcements?"
