Description & Appearance:
This relic of a time long past was once a magical conduit used by a very powerful dark wizard. Stories tell of him conjuring spirits from the lantern as easily as one draws water from a well, utilizing them in his magics to better himself and his position. Eventually, the dark wizard was defeated and the lantern was lost to time.

The souls of lost deceased men and women live within the lantern; avatars of forgotten nations and civilizations. Some gave themselves willingly to the magic that bound them to the lantern, wishing to take part in the immortal existence that came from living within the item. Others had their souls extracted forcibly, as a means of further empowering the artifact to reach maximum potential. There’s even tell of creatures having been given to the lantern; supernatural beasts from legend. As a plot ability, this lantern floats in the air around the user, circling around them with its ominous glow.





Abilities:

Name: Spirit Service
Rank: User Rank (Up to B)
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive, Buff, Reflection
Description: The user summons forth one of the lost souls from the lantern, giving it a misty, ethereal form that greatly resembles a mummy. As the apparition materializes, a portion of its magic is granted to the user and gives them an increase to their spell range equal to a user rank passive buff. The user can also sacrifice this spirit, ordering them to charge into an oncoming spell and reflect it back at the original caster once per post. The user must still pay the appropriate Magical Power cost for the reflection. Only spells of equal rank to or lower rank than this ability may be reflected. As a plot element, spirits can be summoned from the lantern as the user desires to act as information liaisons.

Type: Passive, Buff, Drain
Description: The user brings yet another spirit out from the lantern, this one taking the form of a vicious, furious vampire. The user is granted the benefit of an increase to their spell speed equal to a user rank advanced passive buff from being so close to the powerful creature. Additionally, they can enchant the spirit to siphon off the HP from a single target via a magical stream of blood once per post within their user rank advanced burst range around itself at user rank advanced burst speed, the siphoning magic appearing like a red mist. The user can also temporarily take on the characteristics of a vampire while this spirit is present as an added plot ability [Shapeshifting, Child of the Night and Feeding are the specific traits. To use any of these abilities against a player, player-owned NPC or Event NPC OOC permission must be sought]
