Have a drink on me! (Sarah and Kenna)

Sarah Stone had only recently joined Sabertooth, and hadn't had much of an opportunity to get to know the other guild members. She was mostly just trying not to focus too much on some recent negativity in her life. Sarah's friends, no, her family had been forcibly broken up by the Magic Council, for reasons unknown to Sarah, and she wasn't too happy about that. Joining Sabertooth had saved Sarah from being homeless. She felt indebted to the guild, but at this moment, she just wanted to forget.

Walking into the Red Dragon, Sarah ordered twelve shots of their strongest whiskey and started knocking them back at the bar. She had something of a tough immune system, so it took at least ten for her to start feeling the effects of the alcohol. After finishing the twelfth, she ordered another twelve, and started feeling ever so slightly buzzed.

"Well, first of all, it's unwise to touch another person's drink. There's no telling how they might respond. Name's Sarah Stone, and I just recently joined up. As for what's on my mind, let's just say that I'm hoping to forget something. My eyes are up here, by the way."

Sarah had grimaced when Kenna had removed the shot glass from her hands. However, that quickly turned into a smile as she noticed the focus of Kenna's attention.

"Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the staring, but there's a time and place for everything, and I'd prefer to forget before I make new memories. So, unless you can match me, I'd like to continue drinking. That is, unless you know of a better way to forget that the Magic Council broke up my family, and made me homeless. That is, of course, until I found my way here."

Sarah's expression soured as she spoke, and she knocked back another shot.

If it wasn't for Luna, letting me join Aurora, there's no telling where I would have ended up. To be honest, I kinda miss her, but there's nothing I can do about that. We all went our separate ways after the council did their work, and I haven't heard from her since. I was hoping to forget about all of that. While it might be temporary relief, it might give me time to think about other things. I'm just tired of remembering my own uselessness. I mean, I still talk to my buddy, Shane, from time to time. He's like a brother to me. I just wish I could talk to Luna one more time. Tell her how much I appreciated everything she did for me."

Sarah knocked back a second shot before looking at Kenna again.

"So, if you would kindly avoid touching my drinks, I would be very grateful to you."

"Well, seeing as how you've made such a generous offer, it would be quite rude of me to decline. And to be honest, I hope talking isn't all that you have in mind."


Sarah had gotten a good look at Kenna's form, and was quite pleased with the way that she looked, as well as the way that she was willing to work through Sarah's troubles with her.


"Besides, what I have to tell you is a rather long story, and there are parts that I'd prefer the average patron not hear."


She knocked back one more shot before standing up. Her face was now thoroughly red as she stared at Kenna's chest.



"So, where is this private room you speak of? I would love to see it."

Sarah was pleasantly surprised when she found Kenna's arm around her waist, and her blush intensified rather noticeably. It had been a while since someone had made Sarah feel the way that Kenna did. Sarah had had many partners, but they didn't elicit quite the same emotional response as Sarah was feeling on this occasion. It was a new feeling, one that Sarah had never felt before, and she was enjoying it. Respectfully looking up as she was told, Sarah couldn't help but notice the color of Kenna's eyes. Sarah allowed herself to be led towards the back room. It was rather elegant, compared to the bar itself. 


Sarah had seated herself on a comfortable looking couch, after grabbing the bottle of whiskey off the table. Upon seating herself, Sarah set the bottle on the floor next to her, and decided to remove her short vest as she waited, draping it over the back of said couch. She was enjoying the company of Kenna quite a bit, and could only hope that Kenna would feel something similar towards her as the evening progressed. 
However, this was not the time for Sarah to be getting ahead of herself, and she really didn't want to squander such a spectacular opportunity. She didn't really know what to call what she was feeling, but the words, she felt, would come to her when she needed them to do so.

"Well, you certainly cut straight to the point. I am, and no, I don't mind. Anyhow, you wanted to hear my story? I don't mind telling it, but it can drag on in parts."


Sarah poured herself a glass of whiskey, sipping a bit before staring longingly into Kenna's eyes.


"To start it off properly, I don't know who my biological parents are. I didn't really get a chance to know them, since some cultists kidnapped me shortly after my birth. Luckily for me, they had angered the demon whom they had chosen to worship. That particular demon, Amaymon, raised me until a few years ago. He taught me how to hunt demons, yes. However, I have no interest in killing anyone, or using my magic on someone without a justifiable cause. Besides, I don't discriminate. My first time was with a succubus, after all."


Sarah sipped a little more whiskey before setting the glass down on the table.


"After I had learned all that he could teach me, Amaymon dropped me off in a particular forested valley. I was instructed to become a licensed mage, join a guild, and get stronger. I did exactly that. I made some good friends along the way, and had a lot of fun as a member of Aurora. However, all good things eventually come to an end. Upon returning from my most recent job, I was faced with something that makes me sick to my stomach when I think about it."


Sarah raised the glass to her lips once more, as she remained fixated on Kenna. When she set it down, it was noticeably empty, and she poured herself another.


"The guild was in disarray. Everyone was either packing or panicking. The Magic Council had disbanded the guild without warning, and levied some unbelievable charges against Luna. It wasn't right, but there was nothing any of us could have done about it, and it makes me sick, knowing that I was powerless to stop them. That's why....."


Sarah's voice wavered noticeably, as tears began to form in the corners of her eyes.


"That's why.... I'd rather just avoid thinking about it. It's better to forget, than to remember that pain with every waking moment."

"Well, I guess it isn't all bad. After all, If it hadn't happened, I wouldn't have met you."


Sarah's tears had dried during the hug, and she only now realized just how close Kenna was. Not wanting to waste such a perfect opportunity, Sarah brought her face closer to Kenna's, and made to kiss her on her lips rather gently. Sarah still wanted to take her mind off the past, if only for the night. However, the night to come would be filled with much more than forgotten memories.
