- Job Title: iLac
Rank: D Rank
Player Requirements: Any Rank
Job Requirements: 500 words per player
Job Location: Neutral Grounds
Job Description: A brand new device called the iLac has come out and the manufacturer is giving them away to anyone who visits the factory in Neutral Ground. Keep in mind, as soon as you step foot on Neutral Ground territory, all your magic (Primary, Secondary, Weapons, Armour, Pets, Unique Abilities, Passive Effects) is instantly shut down. But that's no problem because all you're doing is picking up your brand new iLac.
Reward: 1x iLac for everyone
iLac is a lacrima that functions like our real world cell phones. It can access lacrima-net, but CANNOT grant the user access to OOC information on other players. It can grant the user the ability to contact any other player who also owns an iLac providing that other player gave the caller their Lacrima Identification Code (phone number). The iLac also has a calendar, calculator, HP and MP tracker, stopwatch, alarm, and any other fun applications (that do not permit your character to know OOC information on another character) you can think of. It also has a Sorcerer's Weekly app installed.
Technology has always been changing. And with that, war has been changing. Casus can still remember an age in which message took time getting relayed, or could be intercepted. A time in which careful consideration of moves included thinking of the fact that your orders couldn't be changed at your own discretion. But those days are over, especially with the commercialization of this device. The Ilac they call it, a lacrima powered device that is capable of instantly sending information over towards another device of the same making. The thing that surprised Casus the most was the fact that they were giving these out for free. Casus couldn't help but be cynical about this supposedly act of charity. But alas, it was better to have one then to lose something that could be the decisive advantage in any one confrontation.
Casus expected to end up in a gritty factory setting but was instead surprised to be welcome in what appeared to be a regular modern company lobby. He was kindly told to take a seat and await his turn. Apparently he wasn't the only one who saw the advantage of such a device. Casus, being interested in their means of production, eventually decided to ask the lady behind the desk if it was at all possible to receive a tour of the facility. It only took some well placed lies about being a big shot to arrange that. Whether it was because of Casus's quick wits or because his general outfit is a foreign military outfit that inspired a sense of seriousness, it got the job done.
The facility itself was behind the curtains more gritty and chaotic, and it soon lost it's slick appearance when they entered the factory itself, which was situated below grounds. If he didn't already have to watch his own back about being discovered he might have inquired about all the departments and doors that seemed to hide something, but given the situation he decided to let those go. This was just another piece of valuable information about how the dealings of industrialization go within the neutral grounds, and even if it might not prove useful as of this moment he was sure it would become so one day.
After the tour was finished and he returned in the deceitful lobby he noticed many people had already left. It therefore didn't take long until his name was announced and he was capable of picking up his own Ilac. The device was something peculiar, slick in design just like the lobby, but secretly robust in design and functionality. Casus couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of how that little machine reflected the company that made it perfectly. That didn't erase the suspicion of the device hiding something though. But until the day he could find that out he figured it's the best course of action to let it go. For now. Stepping outside, fiddling with the device he almost walked against an outside obstacle. Twice. He made the small mental note of never using the device whilst walking or even worse driving a vehicle before pocketing the device and deciding on his next location and course of actions. The day was still young after all.
