Twilight Rain [Private]

Kiru sat alone and silent at one of the many booths situated in the Silver Moon Inn. The girl's eyes were quickly scanning a pile of parchment strewn out across the large table. Only serving to fuel most of the other people's disinterest in seating across from her. Kiru's expression showed no emotion whatsoever. Her face was blank as it looked upon one of the papers. Black ink writing covered most of the papers as Kiru was seemingly reading off of them. Beside her on the table was a small inkwell. Every now and then the demon slayer would reach over and dip a quill, before scribbling something on one of the papers, and then adding it to the pile. Kiru seemed to be very focused on something, her thoughts only broken with the sudden chime of the waiter.

"Miss Kiru, your tea." He told her, placing a rather large cup of black steaming liquid on a small cleared space next to her.

"Thank you." She responded flatly, not taking her eyes of the papers. She only broke her gaze when the smell of the tea began to hit her nose. She turned over and peered inside. Raising an eyebrow, she then lifted a palm over the rim of the cup. Soon a small white ball of water manifested in her palm, and it dropped inside the tea. Taking a small spoon she began stirring the drink while reading over another paper.

What were these papers anyways? Why was she reading them with such interest? Well, if anyone knew Kiru's role inside Black Rose, they'd understand. She was the guild's "Debt Collecter." Many times she had been sent out to oversee transactions between the guild and their assets. ANd so it was her job to keep track of all of said transactions... As well as "remind" those who fell behind on their payments. Many of these papers were ledgers, bills and notes from the guild's various assets around Rose Garden. She was taking the time to take a detailed account of every transaction, making sure everything went smoothly. Most of the time Kiru's emotions were hidden, but one who knew Kiru could usually tell if she was bored or not based on the weather. It always seemed to be the only translator for the girl's blank face. And right now it was raining... Kiru had been very bored with the tediousness of her job, but new it was nescerarry. After all, it wasn't like she had anything better to do that day...

Irina sat on the bed that she had been confined to for days. She was still recovering from the extensive injuries caused by the berserk CASSIE. For days she had been grumpy due to her condition which had made others demand she stay in bed until she made a full recovery but she wasn't having anymore of that. Grabbing some bandages that were near the bed she wrapped them around her right arm and her neck to make a sling. Prepared to leave she began walking only to get intercepted by one of the people assigned to take care of her. "Irina you mustn't leave your bed, you are still healing." The young man protested only to be met with Irina's left fist driving into the top of his skull. "SHUT UP!" She screamed in fury fed up with being trapped in a room for several weeks. This caused the man to slam through the floor into the room below and onto a table. "I want to have a meal with people and I'll be damned if I have to stay in here for another day." She growled stepping over the hole and taking the stares down into the dining room. "Oy get me a meal with lots of meat." She growled as she sauntered about looking for a good table to sit at. Finding the table across the aisle from the one that her victim had crash down onto she took a seat and found herself face to face with a random person who had a lot of papers in front of her. "I'm having a meal at your table, I hope you don't mind." She grumbled looking at the black and white haired girl across the table.

Everything proceeded as expected for the next minute or so, until Kiru could hear some muffled yelling. "Hm?" She raised an eyebrow and looked up to the ceiling. There was another loud cry, and then suddenly the roof came crashing down! As the dust cleared Kiru could see a person lying against a broken table. They seemed unconscious, but nothing too serious about their health seemed to appear. Obviously some brutal bruises, but nothing beyond that. Kiru simply sighed and took a sip of her tea as she could hear the furious footsteps of the instigator racing down the stairway. Knowing all too well she was too busy to get involved in whatever confrontation had just occurred, Kiru continued to look over her papers until Irina's angry voice filled the lobby.

It seemed her magic had worked after all. Ever since the destruction of their old guildhall, Irina had been resting. She had taken a significant beating during the battle, and her injuries were serious... At the time anyways. Now it wasn't so apparent. Kiru had managed to save the unconscious Ace from suffering anymore punishment by distracting the robot long enough to pull Irina to safety, and begin her healing magic on the unconscious Ace. Kiru wouldn't be surprised if the girl had no idea who she was after all, they hadn't encountered eachother since then, and she was knocked out cold during Kiru's attempt to save her life.

However, something even more unexpected happened next. She decided to sit at the same table as Kiru. Flatly explaining she was going to eat at Kiru's table, she simply shrugged. The Demon Slayer went back to looking at her papers before saying: "Seems you've recovered. Apologies I couldn't heal all of you." Kiru sipped her tea, her cyan colored gaze still locked on a piece of parchment. That last comment was her subtle reference to Irina's eye...

Irina stared blankly as the girl commented on her condition causing Irina to begin grinning before bursting out in laughter. "That's funny, a lost eye wont stop me, it just takes a little longer to grow back than a limb." She continued laughing as if she was unaware that normally peoples eyes didn't regenerate, even limbs didn't regenerate. "Say have a meal on me, you dull look makes you look like you need kindness." She commented as a plate of food arrived at the table only to be licked spotless instants later. Irina was still ravenous as ever despite her state, proof of this was the now empty plate that one could pass on as a freshly cleaned dish if they wanted to. "Oy seconds here." She called out her mood changing from grumpy to a cocky form of cheerful. She looked back over at the other guest at the table. "Say I don't think we've ever met, tell me... who are you?" She asked somewhat playfully, of course she probably had files in the lab... she suddenly facepalmed realizing that all her resources were suddenly gone due to the destruction of the old guild, she didn't even know where the new guild hall was cause she was bed ridden this entire time.

Kiru continued to sit motionless, trifling through the various pieces of parchment strewn across her table as Irnia barked an order of food to the waiter. She made no visual change at Irina's response to her apology, rather keeping her usual calm and quiet demeanour. However, that would slightly shift as Irnia's food was brought to the table. There it was... Meat. Her nose scrunched up at the smell, and Kiru's focus broke slightly as she put a hand on her forehead to steady herself from nausea. No one ever knew why, but the taste and even smell of cooked meat made the Demon Slayer feel extremely sick. If exposed to it for long enough. Perhaps it was a medical condition? Or just a strong hatred? That would remain a mystery, as Kiru wasn't the most open person. She was just glad the Fire Wizard finished it quickly.

"Kindness is an irrelevant matter." She responded flatly, taking a small sip of her tea before flipping a page over, scanning it with her cyan colored gaze. "I assure you my personal feelings are not currently conflicted." Who could guess what Kiru was trying to say? If she had spoken like a normal person, it'd probably translate roughly too "I'm perfectly fine." Of course, she was still unaware if that came off as rude. Or did she? No one could ever tell. Kiru's face was always blank. Nothing could tip off the other wizard.

Finally Irina had asked the long expected question. Kiru had been wondering to herself if the fire wizard would inquire about the Demon Slayer's identity. Clearly after making a reference to the events of the past. At this, Kiru dropped the page and looked at Irina straight with her emotionless stare. She thought for a minute, and then finally spoke. "I'm Kiru Nivani. Black Rose's Debt Collecter. Also one of the guild's healers." She stated, before flipping over another page. "I am already aware of your identity Miss Naginata. I keep a record of all of my patients." After saying this, Kiru quickly remembered that this girl was a guild ace.

"Do you require my assistance with anything Ace Naginata?" The Demon Slayer asked out of politeness and respect for a superior guild member. But would she know that? Who knows? Many of Kiru's questions sounded more like statements then anything else.

"Debt collector?" Irina questioned, she was unaware of many of the changes the guild had undergone besides of change of location. The came up the subject of Irina's ace position which forced a more serious look upon her. "To me ace is just a fancy title, last I checked I was just another member of the guild, I think you would be better of considering yourself the ace." Irina spoke sincerely, she may have been an ace but all she managed was to almost get herself killed while in the position on multiple occasions. "Say, once this gets better why don't we go out sometime, I'm sure there something that will pay us good money." Making note of her still recovering arm, Her tone once against shifting to something more confident. The constant attitude swings was certainly an odd quirk of Irina's.

Irina's second meal arrived which shared the same fate as the previous one. "I swear the food isn't as good as it used to be, Oy is Magna the one cooking?" She questioned making the waiter nervous. "Um I'm sorry, Magna isn't here right now, he said he was going to the volcano for some ingredients." Irina blinked puzzled by the waiters nervousness. "Hey tell him he should make me a meal with this new stuff he's getting, I'm dying for an exquisite meal." She spoke with a grin in an attempt to make the girl feel less nervous.

Kiru raised an eyebrow at the Ace's question, and let the silence hang in the air for a moment as the demon slayer's memory quickly came into action and reminded her that Irina had missed a lot. "Aye, I'm responsible for overseeing Black Rose's transactions with our assets go smoothly. If not, I have to solve the problem myself." She looked back down at the array of papers before Irina asked another, yet somehow stranger question. She wanted to go on a job? Kiru's facial expression couldn't hide the fact that she had been taken off guard by such an unexpected request, but she had no reason to decline it. "Are you sure? I am capable of accomplishing a job if that is your wish, but I'm usually nobody's first choice when looking for job partners." She stated, staring at Irina with a cold, emotionless cyan gaze. It was true, Kiru was rarely asked anything, or even spoken too for that matter. Maybe it was fear that drove people off? Or it was just her dead personality that didn't make her very interesting. Either way, it was still an odd feeling being asked upfront by a guild member who didn't even know the Demon Slayer...

At this, a sudden shift in the weather occurred, the rain pelting down harder then before. For those who understood Kiru, the rain was the only thing that translated her emotion. And this change meant she was happy.

Irina look at Kiru puzzled confused as to why no one would take her on any sort of job as a partner, she was cute and she was invaluable as a partner. "That confuses me, you're cute not sure why guys aren't trampling each other just to get a chance to go out with you." Irina grinned, she seemed to not care about how emotionless her new partner. Once again a meal arrived for Irina and was immediately consumed in an instant, no one would even believe there was a meal in the first place. "Anyway when this gets better I'mma need to stretch myself a bit, that's when we will go have a bit of fun." She exclaimed as she got up and wandered off to find that stairs leading down into the basement... wait was there a basement. "One more question, which way is it to my new office?" Irina asked zipping back to Kiru's table disregarding the suggestion of others to go back to bed.

Kiru would simply stare blankly at Irina as she elaborated on her feelings, and began to point out some things Kiru couldn't either confirm or deny. After all, she never noticed people's actions around her if they involved flirting or other forms of affection. As always, Kiru just would retain her usual neutral thoughts on the matter. And answer Irina's final question to the best of her knowledge would allow her too.

"I believe it is upstairs near mine." She would say, taking a sip of her tea, trying to resist the still faint stench of meat. "If you want me too, I will accompany you on your next job Ace Irina." Kiru would say blankly. "My work here isn't one of my highest priorities if a job needs to be completed."
