    “So this is Motor City…”

It was pretty different from what she expected, it all looked so busy and urban compared the other places she has been to, she has also been told that a garage was stationed in this industrious city but she has never dared to go into the garage, vehicles weren’t her thing anyway, and she has come on a more important matter that doesn’t have to do with vehicles, well she hopes she doesn’t have to deal with them if they are anyway.

Reading a piece of paper that she has a hold on like she does always when she goes out on a job, she read its description and sighed softly. Why would little kids start a gang war?? She understand that none of them were in the best condition to begin with, but they aren’t helping at all by continuously fighting each other. Whether it be for sport or whether they thought they posed a threat to each other, was none of her business. Her job however, is to show the peace to the tiny gang members and show them that there are much better things to do then fight each other to their death.

Stopping slowly, Summer looked around. She has been walking for a while now, following yet another map that is technically useless as she had to get it from a world map, it wasn’t even scaled and drawn accurately so for Summer to get so far already is some sort of achievement, considering Summer has no idea about the city locations. Although she must admit, she didn’t think she’d be walking for so long now, karma must not be on her side as as suddenly heard some noises. Shouting to be exact. Summer had to investigate the source, this could be where she has to perform her job of peacekeeper.

The fireworks expert continued to hear the same noise when she began to ran towards the noise. The sounds of fighting, kicking and punching became louder and louder. Summer confirmed to herself that this must be the kids fighting around and beating each other up while cheers could now be heard. This reminded Summer of the time when Jian and Hung fought seriously when Jian tried to kidnap Summer. She still doesn’t know what caused Jian to become the way he was when the invasion happened, but it did and Summer lost the most important people of her life that day.

Summer’s eyesight could now see what she couldn’t see originally, a group of kids surrounding what seems to be a fight scene. The group were pumping their fists into the air as they jeered out random names and the occasional insult as the fight continued on. Summer had to stop this. It just wasn’t right, they had their whole life ahead of them and they were wasting it by being total bullies. Walking over to the scene, Summer simply shot a firework to a brick wall, letting the firework collide with said wall. Letting the firework let loose the noise. The kids instantly stopped and looked to the fireworks expert. The kids were only young, they looked between the ages of 7-9 and for Summer, that was truly shocking. She sighed softly and shook her head as she crossed her arms.

Behind the fireworks expert, panting could be heard, that panting could only come from Summer’s trusty pet; Laysha. Laysha was too busy catching her breath to notice what Summer was really doing but she didn’t mind, she trusted Summer was doing the right thing.

“Oiii…” Summer said rather aggressively, she had to get it through their heads that this wasn’t the right thing to do. “Don’t you think that you all have something better to do then beat the crap out of each other?!” The kids looked to the fireworks expert silently before they all looked at her and grinned. They weren’t impressed by her interference and one even looked at her with a very hacky look.

The kids looked insane! The moment Summer looked into their eyes, they all seemed to be misunderstood and lonely. The fact that they apparently come from underprivileged families didn’t help the factor at all, they all needed love and attention, which their parents do try their best to give them, but it might not work out that way. Instead it seems they only take their frustration out on other kids by beating them up. This wasn’t right… It felt really wrong and she didn’t enjoy the aspect of that. She was just glad that she was going to sort them out immediately…

What would Laysha do?? She would usually be the better choice for this matter, but Laysha and Summer go everywhere regardless. How would she make her flower fairy proud. Then again, she knew her pet best. She placed her hands on her hips and shook her head, seems these kids knew no manners either.

“Line up! All of you!” The female demanded, Laysha looked to Summer as she exclaimed them words and the flower fairy changed her behaviour to follow with Summer’s, her arms crossed around her little chest and her tiny cheeks were puffed out like a hamster who has stuffed their food into the cheeks. The kids followed suite and lined up accordingly. Although none of them seemed to have a care in the world about Summer and what she was going to tell them. In their defence, they probably had lots of lectures before from their parents because of the stuff they are pulling off, but Summer was going to give them another earful.

“Listen here right now!” The fireworks expert started, keeping one hand on her hip while she extended her arm with a finger holding out. She needed to sort these kids out immediately otherwise they all will seriously hurt each other. Summer didn’t want that, she wanted them to skip happily with sunshine and rainbows, of course she can imagine that in her head, but she made sure she didn’t let that slip out of her mouth. Laysha looked to her master rather impressed, she then looked back to the kids and nodded, trying to keep the kids in line along with Summer. The little children seemed shocked that a fairy was with the fireworks expert and one even had their mouth gaped open. It was obvious that Laysha seemed to have some sort of effect for the group.

While the lining process continued, she spotted one kid battered and bruised, motionless on the floor and Summer shook her head, signalling to the flower fairy that she will check up on the incapacitated kid. Laysha tilted her head up and down before Summer went off to check up on said kid. Kneeling down slowly she shook them. She couldn’t believe they harmed them to an extent. This was a fear of hers; being incapacitated. She is scared that if she was incapacitated that she will never be able to do anything afterwards, considering she was a contortionist and being a contortionist can be really helpful during the most toughest of battles and for hiding away. Now she is seeing the effects of being incapacitated, right in front of her, and it well and truly worries her.

“Hey…” Summer greeted them slowly, just to see if they were unconscious or if they were alive and kicking. The kid seemed to groan and had to weakly turn his head to spot the fireworks expert and tried to nod. He couldn’t move and Summer just wanted to take care of the child. She picked up the little kid bridal style and carried him over to the other kids.

“Look at this, this is wrong! You all have seriously hurt this kid! Do you all want this to happen to you?? HUH?!” Summer shook her head angrily as she finally walked back over to the line to show the damage that has been done to the kid. “See this, this is what could happen to you if you all continue this. What you all have done is wrong… I trust you all to get along with each other now.” Her stern words seemed to have sorted the kids and they sighed and nodded, understanding Summer’s point of view.

Summer walked off, carrying the little kid in her arms as she walked on. The kids weren’t fighting at all now and it seemed they all have calmed down, maybe they didn’t know what to do next. Summer’s next goal was to find any other kids that took the mick and probably try get the child she was carrying to a treatment centre, the injuries were really bad and she couldn’t cope with seeing a child in such a state and even though the child could have very well been part of child gang war. She hopes the kid has learnt his lesson and will never perform such treachery again.

“M-miss…” The boy spoke out weakly, trying to speak out as much as possible.

“Hm? I don’t want you to talk…” The female stated. “You need to rest. I want to get you to a hospital, but first… do you know if there is more, and if so, where they are??” Summer questioned the young boy as Laysha bit her lower lip. She just told the boy to be quiet yet, is now asking him where the others are. Laysha didn’t understand this logic but threw it under the bus as Summer might have a good reason. The boy pointed out the directions while grunting. He was in extreme pain but he cooperated, thankfully. Summer and the flower fairy continued to follow the kids directions until she heard some shouting and arguing. Oh no, Summer felt that this was going to be another incident and she shook her head, she was going to be in for another unfortunate event. She was sure of it.

Finally at the scene where the boy directed them to. The female looked up to see two groups of people all kinds of ages, all the way up to 14. God, if this was the gang then Summer really was in for a run for her money. Walking towards the groups, some stared at her, or rather. Behind her. While one of the kids pointed behind the fireworks expert, some just stared at her while laughing. Summer got confused because she hasn’t done anything as of yet, but looking behind her she seen why and it horrified her. The youngsters looked like absolute nightmares. They all had glowing red eyes, it was nothing like she has seen before apart from animals, and flames danced around their bodies. Flames. Flames. Summer couldn’t… if one of the kids touched her with their fiery bodies, Summer would explode and could potentially harm everyone. That was something she really didn’t want.

Running off to place the boy she had in custody on the floor safely away from the flaming children, giggles could be heard in the distance and she commanded her pet to stay with the boy as she ran back to the children. She had to sort these little so and so's out now before anyone is hurt, whether it be by the demon children, by them beating each other up due to Summer unintentionally escalating it or by the power of gunpowder.

“Hey everyone. I have been sent to… help you all…” The female said as she placed her hand on her chin in thought as she tried to think of something else to say, but this wasn’t good for the children who looked like total nightmares decided to give her the unconventional response by spitting at her. Of course Summer responded by cartwheeling out of the way before she shook her head in disgrace. She wasn’t impressed. “That was rude! I suggest you stop that immediately!” Summer demanded, but one of the kids charged at her in hopes of burning her. Summer tried her best to move out the way, but they hit her and Summer burst into sparks thanks to the gunpowder that she always produced and just exploded.

The explosion caused so many problems and the kids were in danger now. The only ones who seemed unaffected by the explosion was the boy she picked up and Laysha. The rest were caught in the explosion.

The explosion continued, the female had no idea what to do other than hope the kids are truly okay. The explosion finished when the sparks ended slowly, smoke was everywhere and Summer’s appearance looked all charred and messy to the point that her hair didn’t look neat at all. It in fact looked like she just woke up in the morning with just her everyday clothes on. The female was curled up, this hasn’t happened to her in quite a while and even though that truly did upset her, she knew it wasn’t her fault. The kid just charged at her and she literally exploded. It was tough being a fireworks mage, and Summer was living proof that fireworks can be a truly dangerous thing.

While the smoke invaded the area, Summer got up weakly and looked around, just as she expected, most of the kids were laying around motionless, save for herself. She didn’t know what to do but to check up on all the kids, just to see if they were okay. Usually when this type of incident happens (which is rarely) they will usually come to, they will just be in extreme pain. It seems like it will be a hospital job for them all. Summer sighed, she knew she wouldn’t be able to take them all to the hospital, which is a shame.

Suddenly, noises could be heard, clip clopping on heels and scuffling to be precise. The fireworks expert turned to look behind her to see it was one curious person. They seemed to know what they were doing and they even looked to the fireworks expert to confirm their suspicions, she clearly used something without intending to, and they really did feel sorry for her about that.

“The kids will get up. Hopefully” The randomer stated. “Maybe now they will quieten down however.” They continued as they looked over all the kids. “I heard the explosion earlier, it got me wondering what it was… Did you cause this??” They asked as they finished scanning through all the kids. “They seem good. They will come to soon… All they need is a good rest.”

“Yeah… I know… I did unfortunately cause it.” The fireworks expert admitted. “One of the kids with the flaming bodies charged straight for me, because of the magic I use, I exploded…” She sighed softly. She really couldn’t believe it happened again, she thought she had all the darned explosions under control. But it didn’t seem to be that way.

    --Flashback--

It was a few months after the festival. Summer, Jian and Hung were playing along and they all were having fun, quite typical of the ragtag trio, but they never bothered the villagers that much and they always enjoyed the day's activities. Because of the effects of the firework shooting straight for Summer, she was still struggling to control her magic and she was very cautious anywhere she goes incase fireworks spark out of her hands for no reason whatsoever, the boys did feel sorry for her and always tried their best to cheer up the female, but to their avail. It was nice that she was out and playing that day, but who knew if fireworks would uncontrollably affect the day.

The other three played tag with each other that day, Summer cartwheeled and flipped her way out of dodging every potential attempt to get tagged. Of course the boys were always impressed by her skills, but they never found it fair either. She was just glad they all were having fun instead of being menacing. The fun stopped however when suddenly smoke was seen puffing up in the air. Summer noticed this and she looked to Hung and Jian, pointing in the air, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. One of the houses appeared to be on fire, and because they were just outside the village, they couldn’t tell for sure. Summer said nothing as she charged straight for the village, Jian and Hung followed suite cautiously, they had to keep an eye on her incase she lost control of the firework magic that she recently gained.

Summer ran and ran until she was in the village. There was indeed a fire and it seemed all the villagers were helping put out the fire. What Summer didn’t expect however was a piece of wood thrown behind her that was covered in flames. Summer lost control and she emanated into a bright firework, triggering a powerful explosion that hurt everyone around. Summer was scared, she didn’t know what to do at the time and she thought she killed everyone. When the sparks died down, Summer cried.

    --Flashback end--

Summer looked to the kids that were now just waking up, she was glad they managed to get up without any issues, but they seemed to be confused as to what happened, and they felt very regretful, especially the child that charged straight for her. They then looked to the female and shrugged their shoulders. It seemed Summer didn’t need to talk to them at all, they only needed to be shown what harm could come to them if they continued this nonsense.

“See, they all seem to be good now.” The stranger spoke, looking at all the kids who seemed to come to their senses and the dangers of their gang-wars.

“I am so sorry!” One of the kids exclaimed, they really seemed apologetic and they looked like they regretted everything after so many years. Laysha then charged straight at the fireworks expert and hugged her large frame. Laysha has never seen this incident occur obviously because she hasn’t been with Summer for that long. The female could only smile, her charcoaled face giving her more expressive features. Summer of course didn’t want to worry her pet and allowed the flower fairy to cling onto her, feeling comforted by the worriness Laysha was showing, her motherly side was clearly showing and Summer was glad she had such a side. If she was a bitchy fairy, Summer clearly would have never picked her up in the first place.

“Summmerrr!” The little fairy wailed. “I got so worried the moment I heard the crackle and the explosion that appeared, and oh my god you are all sooty and need a good scrubbing! I hope you perform that task yourself, young lady!” Summer couldn’t help but giggle at her pet’s motherly side. It really can become so cute and adorable. It shown that Laysha fully trusted the fireworks expert and she was so happy that the flower fairy truly did. “On another note… some people arrived and taken the boy away the moment they heard the explosion. They weren’t… impressed with your method… but they were happy that it has been dealt with, I guess.”

“Yeah… I know.” Summer smiled softly as she looked at the kids some more. Even though the worst happened, she was glad it didn’t turn out to be a bad result, and she was even gladder that none of her guildmates or friends were around. She was always cautious when she was near the flames because of that exact reason, she didn’t want to hurt her friends. She felt very fortunate when she was searching Gold Rodgers tomb with Terith, that she didn’t explode right in front of him. That could have ended terribly on both ends and this cautiousness was only triggered by holding a torch.

“Anyway…” Summer spoke softly as she looked around the kids that surrounded her with curiosity. She felt like she has done a whole load of good during this incident and during this, she has felt a need to come back some time whenever she has the time to, and not just on a job. But just in general. She would even love to come back to this underprivileged part of the city to check up on these kids, just to see if they are behaving or not.

Suddenly, in the distance, something shot down from the sky and Summer got highly confused as to what it was. Waving goodbye to the kids after demanding them all to behave. She ran off to the source of the crashing just to see what the shooting thing was but it turned out to be something she didn’t expect at all. It was so adorable and cute and it appeared to be that of a star. Summer looked at the star and smiled softly at it before kneeling down and picking the star up, causing it to react immediately. The little star struggled against the firework experts hug, but calmed down and looked to Summer intently, the star seemed trouble and it looked very much alive, and not to mention, quite cute!

“Hello cutie…” Summer greeted softly to the little star, the cute thing just squealed and snuggled more into the fireworks expert. Summer couldn’t resist but fangirl at the star and smiled softly. “We should name you, little cutie. If you can’t speak that is.” Summer walked around Motor City with a little star in her arms and a flower fairy beside her. It was time to tell the guild that she found another cute pet, and not about the explosion she caused, eager to get back home.
