Mai Stormschild, despite her magical potential and her status as a God Slayer, is at heart a child still. She is very excitable and naive, as well as possessing a huge desire to become friends with as many people as possible. She takes life very casually, constantly acting carefree with a smile on her face. While she is generally a cheery girl, she on occasion can act petulant and selfish. In addition, she has a tendency to tease the ones she is closest with, often manifesting in playing petty pranks. Similarly to this, she enjoys making others laugh and smile, as she believes a smile makes the world brighter. While young, she recognizes that people will go out of their way to help small children and be more willing to give them what she wants, which she uses to her advantage. She has a strong desire to help the helpless and innocent, as well as people she deems as “good,” wanting to become something like a hero. This leads to her being fiercely protective of allies and fiercely against those who hurt the ones closest to her. Even against her enemies, however, she is quick to give others a second chance, believing everyone can be good if they try hard enough. She loves going outdoors, easily preferring the outside as opposed to being, as she puts it, “trapped” indoors. Due to her status as a Tempest God Slayer, she prefers stormy and generally “bad” weather, though this only applies to warm weathers that attract thunderstorms and humidity.

During combat, Mai keeps up her carefree attitude, acting as if combat is a fun game, despite her destructive power. She rarely holds back in combat, not out of desire to always show her best, but rather out of not knowing how to hold back. She is even-tempered, not letting her emotions get the best of her, though again this is due to her not thinking combat is a serious issue.

Thunderstorms. Due to her status as the Tempest God Slayer, Mai loves stormy weather, both for the feeling of rain and the taste of the natural electricity.

Sweets. Mai is still a child, so the child-like wonderment of sweets brings a smile to her face.

Dislikes:

Caves. Really any sort of underground area, as she is not used to confined areas with no view of the sky.

Vegetables. Being raised in the wild, as well as being a child, Mai finds vegetables to have a disgusting  taste.

Finding her father. While not her biological father, much in the way Natsu was raised by the dragon Igneel, Mai was raised by the Tempest God Raijin, who mysteriously vanished. Mai now has begun her journey in the wizarding world in order to try to find her lost guardian.

Becoming friends with the world. Mai was taught to be friendly in all circumstances, and wants to extend that to having as many friends as there are wizards in the world.

Protecting innocent people. She wants the world to be at peace, and if there are innocent people that are suffering, Mai wants to help them out.

Personality:

Raised in the wilderness by the fiercely anti-human Tempest God Raijin, Mai Stormschild has, unfortunately, taken a lot of character traits from her adoptive father. The main features of this is her hyperviolence and her hatred for humanity, as Raijin taught her that humans are the weakest creatures and that they serve no purpose other than being fodder for Gods and their power. Raijin always taught Mai that punching is the first, second, and third option in everything, and she has taken this to heart. She rambunctiously runs around, trying to attack most things that move, especially most human things, only held back in her desire for destruction by her young stature.

While she is incredibly violent, she is still a child, and a very underdeveloped one at that. She is, to say the least, very dumb, not knowing basic math or how to read, as well as being completely deaf in moral matters. She rarely thinks twice about anything, preferring to just act upon the first thing that appears in her field of vision, whether that be swinging a punch at someone who looks weird or eating a bug that happens to fly by her field of vision. In the same vein, Mai is a voracious child, eating just about anything that she can, regardless of the supposed nutritional value it holds. While she mainly uses this for her appetite for candy, she has extended this to people, bugs, and even inedible objects, to varying degrees of success.

While Mai is violent to those she does not like, which is most people, she finds herself completely attached to those that she does like, to an unhealthy degree. Those that she views as parental figures are never wrong in her eyes, and she is trained to always try to prevent those figures from being harmed in any way, even if it means throwing herself into harms way, regardless of whether or not it kills her. Anything that the parental figure says is immediately followed without question, and she is reluctant to follow any orders from anyone else.
