Hello Fairy Tail Roleplay Community, this is Decayuss! Don't know who I am? That's unfortunate.
I am here on the suggestions posting something that's a little bit more on the non-serious side. I don't believe that there is a system broken, rules need to be made, etc. This is a semi-serious suggestion about a pet peeve of mine, but more specifically a bad habit for all of you lovely members out there!
Now then, before I actually state what exactly this issue is, there are a few things I would like to establish first off. The first is that this is not targeting a specific person; a group of people would be a much more accurate description, but not at a specific group. This is more of a universal thing to mostly everyone, and regardless of what guild or rank you are, at some point you're most likely guilty of this. Or your'e not. To that I say, congratulations! The second is that this is not a suggestion that I want to make a fired up conversation or debate about, nor do I want Development to create a new rule for it--they most likely won't honestly. It is a personal message from me to the community about something that we could perhaps mend in our everyday activities in the site. Finally, don't take it personally! I'm somewhat guilty of this too, but I try to avoid it.
Now then, what is this issue? I'm certain that has crossed your mind one way or another or else you wouldn't be reading it. Well, allow me to say something that creates the issue itself.
When I'm H rank, I'm going to have so many OP S rank spells that will be able to deal three times S rank damage and kill everybody! I'm going to become a Wizard Saint, and maybe even make my own guild! You wanna' see my H rank spell? It's going to be so OP!
Just relax.
Obviously that was an exaggeration of the predicament in which I am addressing, but it's more or less an accurate depiction. If you still haven't caught on to it, allow me to spell it out for you: any new member/old member that is below S rank, most likely D or C, that brags and goes on in the Chat Box or a chat about their future S rank and H rank spells. The ideas are in their head, and they plan to become the most powerful Wizard of them all! And as a staff member, they often ask me for my opinions about grading them, or say to me their bundle of wonderful ideas that are actually quite creative! But you wanna' know what I wanna' say?
Just relax.
I know you're excited to hit a higher rank, and I know the flourishing of these ideas in your head gives you a rush, but....relax. Please. Before I go one, one more note that I would like to make is that I'm not trying to be mean or sarcastic. I really mean it: relax. These kinds of people are like the ones that are getting a little too excited at the party; you don't hate them, they're not hurting anyone, not doing anything illegal, nor do you want to strangle them. They just...need to relax a little bit.
What exactly is the problem with this? Well first off, you ain't even H rank yet. Yes, I used the word 'ain't'. About 99.9% of the people whom I see talk about this kind of stuff never make it past or up to A rank. Wanna' know who the .1% is? Myself. No, I'm not here to brag, nor did I do it to this degree. What did I do? If someone ASKED what my future plans were, I told them. Or it just came out, but I always make sure on the end to add in the wondrous if I reach H rank. And I did. Unless you're SOOOOO close to H rank or S rank, it's best not to make those plans THAT far ahead, mainly because, like I said, almost everyone I meet doesn't actually get there. Or even close, as a matter of a fact. If you want to talk about it, put in the work effort, and you'll be there in no time!
Now I'm not saying this stuff shouldn't be allowed or that it's bad. If someone wants to hear your ideas, wonderful! Share with them, talk about it, converse! That's great! However, just don't mouth yourself off and say you're going to beat so many people at a high rank. Come at me, bro. Not really. To these I never really say 'no' to, because I never want to look like a jerk, but from now on I will. Unless I'm dying to know what your S or H rank spell looks like...probably not gonna' do it.
Though on to the more semi-serious issue, me as a staff member.
Deca, can I show you this idea for a spell? It's an H rank spell that covers 1000 miles that deals 100 damage per second to anything caught within the area and has a very low cool down with a long duration.
That's another obvious exaggeration. Of course no one has approached me with a spell to that magnitude, and I hope no one will. The point I'd like to make is people approach me with IDEAS that they want my STAFF opinion on. Well...I don't really want to is the thing. You're not S rank, I'm not in the grading mood, and it's not on the registration forum. That's when I enter my grading mode. You do you, please.
But I digress, it got a little too personal there. As a small wrap-up to it all, I would just like to say: just relax. Please, relax a little bit. Don't go thinking that you're going to be the most overpowered H rank in the world because that's whY registration exists. At the same time, don't let this discourage you to never share your ideas with other people--or sometimes myself. Go for it! Just make sure you be careful when you do.
