    The Lorelei Bloodline

It was said that there a magus family who all shared the same ideal, living in a world of peril they accomplished what was known to be humanity’s last hope, the entity called Alaya.

    The Discovery of the Hologram

Long before Alaya became one of the forces of the universe, Ferdinand von Lorelei was a mage who proposed a theory about the Demon Laplace, how such phenomenon as that creature would appear and disappear from time to time. According to him:

“Our reality is just one of the many realities that reside in a web like structure called the conscious hologram, in this hologram multiple realities and dimensions exist and are born every minute.”

There are countless worlds and alternate realities across the web we call the Hologram and every one of those realities are known as “Projected Illusions” that reside within the hologram. However it was common to ask Ferdinand the point of this theory. The answer to the inquiry amongst philosophers is that it has everything to do with the unnatural occurrences of phenomena we experience in our reality. It was believed that the distortion of space is a result of reality being disturbed by an unknown force, which so happens to be the entity Dr. Laplace witness him. The entity was called “Laplace’s Demon” because as it entered our reality, it created a disturbance in space thus the birth of new forms of phenomena. He also suggests that the collapse of a Projected Illusion may also be a result of phenomena occurring and re-occurring.

Just as how multiple realities were born, the same number would die and eventually be erased as told by Ferdinand’s daughter Falke Lorelei. Though a Hologram is said to be massive, it has a limit to how many of these realities would exist and continue to exist which brings us the idea if the reality we lived in is not real. How so?

If indeed that Ferdinand’s theory may be true, and if Falke’s theory was correct then our reality can simply collapse at any point in time, and without warning and if everything around us is just but mere projection then do we exist? Are we even real? We can’t completely say for sure.

Other than Laplace Demon, this can also be based from the theory of “The Origin of all things” to which according to a philosopher whose name has been long forgotten in history is that everything that exists always has its beginning and when there’s a beginning, there must be an end. The Early Period: Birth by sleep

The Lorelei magus family lived in a world to which humanity is always threatened by not only outside forces but also themselves. They devoted themselves to only one goal in mind, to ensure the survivability of the human race. Though unlike most magus families who are willing to cooperate in order to find solutions, the Lorelei preferred to conduct themselves in a solitary manner to which they lock themselves from the rest of the world believing that if they continue to be exposed, they will more likely be open to danger.

At that time the Lorelei wasn’t a completely powerful Magus family, it was one of the weakest ones yet but over the course of time it grew stronger and preserves its bloodline by having its member go through incestuous relationships. As Ferdinand Lorelei gave out his theory, with the use of his knowledge from research and experimentation, he succeeded, achieving a new kind of magic which allows you to travel between realities, however in the process Ferdinand Lorelei was never seen since, along with him the secrets to achieving this feat.

Falke, devastated by the disappearance of her father formulated a way to bring him back which she named Alaya. Primarily Alaya was supposed to act as a singularity that can break through realities and summon Ferdinand back to her.

But it yielded a different result instead.

Alaya summoned what appeared to be a famous epic of another realm to which they only lasted a few minutes before dissolving and fading away from the plane of existence. It was a new kind of summoning magic that did not require one to make a contract with whoever they can summon, however they would require the singularity Alaya for it to work.

The Mid Period: Alaya: The Will of Humanity’s Existence

This however became quite unstable as the use of Alaya would require too much energy to the point that it would take the life of a Lorelei mage. Hence in order for this to work, the Lorelei invented a new kind of energy that served as an alternative to mana and that was the collective will of humanity to survive, only the notion of “Humans must survive” or to “Save Humanity, humanity must live on and continue to exist.” In turn Alaya became a force that operated on that concept and the mana cost for it to work has decreased dramatically, however to whatever Alaya summons, a Lorelei mage must be a catalyst and serve as an anchor for the summoned to continue to exist in their world.

The new generation of Lorelei mages sought to summon Ferdinand Lorelei back, such as the wish of Falke Lorelei, their great grandmother who is now deceased. Alberehct Lorelei was the first Lorelei mage to discover the possibility of bringing Ferdinand back to this reality and that is by means of forcing Alaya to become a component of the “Hologram”.

The results were rather dramatic, for some reason Alaya became a will of its own. Now it no longer requires the Lorelei mages to summon its beasts (which were classified as counter guardians) as it summons them to locations whereas they would eliminate any threat that would endanger humanity. Later on Alaya became known and it was the ultimate threat to all those who seek humanity’s destruction.

    The Late Period: Die Lorelei

It didn’t take decades for enemies to finally figure out the connections between Alaya and the Lorelei bloodline and so the Lorelei magi were hunted down one by one. For little did they know that the old method of summoning Alaya’s beast was not of their doing but the will of Alaya itself? Before Alberecht perished, he spent whatever time he has left to organize and construct a sanctuary to the surviving members of the Lorelei mages, he died hiding the sanctuary.
As generations passed the number of mages in the Lorelei family diminished little by little. Though the destruction of the human race was kept at bay, the supposed fate now turns only to the members of Lorelei. Whatever remains of the Lorelei was nothing more than a nuclear family of six with two boys and two girls. The sanctuary’s magical field Alberehct had built eventually lost its power as the surviving members were vulnerable to attacks. The ones that had ended the Lorelei family was an army of demons and monsters controlled by a sinster group. However they realized that event he complete annihilation of the Lorelei would not stop Alaya, with their efforts, they were eventually eviscerated by Alaya’s most powerful beasts.
