The Hunter Becomes The Hunted(Job/Nothel/Kayla)

Two weeks ago was Nothel's last job. He had gone on an undead killing spree. Sadly, during that job he got pinned with participating with someone else. Apprantly the quest called for two people and someone else got their before him. That is when he met Kayla. She was an arrogrant lightning magic user. And she was great. Nothel doubts he could make an insult better than her. It was honestly fun having her around. But after loosing a bet to her and having to work for her for a week, he wanted to do nothing with her, ever again. Even he gets tired of his own personality used against him. But, that wasn't important. Nothel snagged a B ranked quest from the board and was going to do it. He was strong enough to do it right? All he had to do was stop some raiders or something and easy ten thousand jewels. No problemo right? Well...

As he crests a hill going towards the mountains, he sees a figure in front of him. No...it couldn't be. His eyes widening he sees a woman in front of him. Short, brown hair, skirt...blue shirt...No...No no no! It was Kayla...wait, why was he complaining? She is a great fighter, albeit a bit annoying. But maybe he can get to know her a bit better before they get to the ruins. But...he has a plan to scare her a bit..Slowly sneaking up on the figure, he would come up behind her. Putting a hand on her shoulder he whispers, "Boo" into her ears. He waits to hear her reaction, as it will be REALLY funny.

Nothel would be wearing his normal black leather coat, chain mail, and he had replaced his sword since last time. He was armed to the teeth, and had new powerful C ranked spells to work with. Aint nothing was going to stop him.

It's been a while since Kayla did a tough job she's been taking it easy, killing enemies that she could take down with one blast and enjoying the gems that she earned from the jobs. Although the brunette had wanted a bit of a challenge now that she was a C-rank she felt as if she would be able to do anything. Passing the exam gave the brunette a huge ego spike, she was not a D-rank anymore.. it was about time. Lightning had flowed from her fingers as she glanced around she had signed up for some hunting job in the ancient ruins, she didn't bother to check if anyone else had signed up as well. The brunette had her hair tied back in a pony tail and wearing tight clothing so she wouldn't get grabbed easily.

Kayla arrived and she seemed to be alone until she felt the presence of another. Quickly turning around too look for him she didn't spot him at first so she ignored the strange feeling and got into what she was doing. Figuring she could start, but once she heard more footsteps she was to late to react. "What the fuck Nothel!" Kayla had snapped not pleased at all too seem him very much and angry about him scaring her. "This fucking mission isn't time for playing around got it?" Kayla had said giving him a serious look lightning crackling around her. "Don't drag me down because you were an idiot and made a rookie mistake." Kayla Croft said her words rather harsh as she turned around too look more.

Nothel bursts out into laughter as she jumps and starts yelling at him. He nearly falls over chuckling, "Oh Oh, you shoulda seen your face~ Hahahah! Oh...Oh I'm sorry Kayla hehe......Wait...what are you doing here?" He just realized something. Why is she here? Is she here to do that quest? Oh hell no, this is suppose to be a solo. Well, whatever it is, he could use her help. "Are you here to do that Hunter quest? If so I actually need your help.." He hates to admit it, but he does require assistance on a job like this. He can't take on all the possible enemies without a meatshield. Besides, he decently likes the company of Kayla. Grinning at her, he smiles. "Comeon, just like old times? Ya'know, two weeks ago..."

Stretching slightly he would walk with her, "So, got any dirt on this job? What enemies we will be fighting? I brought my A game...Anything new with you? He seems to be quite interesting, and pretty chipper today for some reason. It was kinda infectious as well. He wants to be friends with Kayla to be honest. He seems to be as powerful as before, but maybe he is packing some other trick up his sleeve this time. "Hey, wanna do another bet? I'm up to loose again, by far the least hard slave driver I've ever had." He grins, poking fun at her. He pulls his hoodie back, revealing his face to Kayla for the first time...uncannily it would seem familiar, but she couldn't get remember where shes seen it before. Maybe...her father or mother? Whatever it looked like, Kayla had seen that style of face before. He has cold, staring eyes, a pointed face, and its slightly dirty from dirt and mud. Nothel would stretch as they walk, keeping himself pretty active.

Her eyes had narrowed when he started laughing with joy. Did he actually know how serious this mission was? "Have you ever been on a B-ranked Mission?" Kayla had questioned him, expecting him to say no. Although Kayla did go on a B-rank mission, with Lexa and a few other mages and it was tough she didn't want to do one alone they are a hassle so she expected to be with someone maybe a little more expierenced although Kayla didn't think Nothel didn't have any she figured this might have been his first B-ranked job and if that was the case.. things didn't look to good, two rookies on a b-ranked mission. Unless there was someone else that she didn't spot yet, trying to focus Kayla didn't answer any of Nothel's questions she was actually beginning to think he was annoying he was asking pointless questions as well. "Fucking idiot what else would I be doing here, for a tourist visit? Get a brain." Kayla had said not exactly sure why she signed up for this job this was going to be a pain. "Holly shit shut up, Nothel." Kayla said her head pounding from the sound of his irritating voice. Lightning flickering from her fingers, "[color=#ffcc00Do you know how to read? It was in the job description![/color]" What kind of idiot would sign up for a job that he didn't know what he was up against, maybe it was a poor choice to try team with this guy he'll most likely get her killed.

Once he reveled his face she was slightly surprised, thinking that she had seen it somewhere but she was sure that she didn't mean Nothel till now.. "Hiding your face because it's so damn ugly?" Kayla had said with a small joke, she didn't understand why anyone would hide their face. It makes them seem sketchy as fuck and he knew what she looked like all along, she was slightly getting an uneasy feeling. "Stop fucking around and help me hunt."

Nothel shakes his head, "My dear Kayla, or dare I say queen, you need to relax. I'm poking fun at you, I read the job, the groups of enemies we will be facing aren't that difficult. Relax. This is my first B ranked job yes. But we are two incredibly strong mages who can take down hordes of enemies. You need to relax. Our first order of business is to find the lackeys of this relic hunter guy, and they will lead us straight to the leader. We kill him, we get the goods. Easy as impaling a random citizen, or skeleton eh? He smiles lightly at her, patting her on the head in a mocking, yet reassuring way. To comfort her more her draws his sword. "See. I'm prepared. I'll protect you if you are scared Kayla." Amazingly. Nothel actually sounds pretty genuine about keeping her protected. Not in a...lover way but a you are useful and pretty cool to hang with, so don't die way.

They are now officially in the ruins, and haven't spotted anyone or really anything yet. They know they must find someone in here though, someone that is a raider and that can lead them towards their goal. The entire area seems to look the same, like never ending paths of broken mesa-like rocks and broken structures. Its honestly kind of cool, but they are here to do a job, not admire the scenery. "Hey so...I heard this place is magically imbued where you can keep walking down one hall and it doesn't end...that isn't fun...because we need to find someone specific. Hopfully one of his goons will know the way around this place." Nothel seems to have gotten serious now. He is ready to fight and fuck some people up. You know...this is going to be a hard job..

"Don't get cocky Nothel." Kayla had said with a snap narrowing her eyes. "You can never be prepared enough for a mission, and since this is your first b-rank you can't afford to fuck around." The brunette had only scoffed when he said that he was going to make sure that she was kept safe. Not that she didn't believe Nothel wouldn't protect her Kayla knew that Nothel was thinking too little of this mission, that was his first mistake he was to stupid too understand how dire some situations were. "Not scared a bit asshole" Kayla had answered blankly giving a glance around before she had walked into the ruins.

The ancient ruins was beautiful and she could tell that Nothel agreed with her since he wasn't really focusing on the job but was looking around but Kayla couldn't blame him, the place looked old as hell and the history behind this place must be interesting it made Kayla want to learn more about it. The brunette had glanced over at Nothel when he started too say something. Raising an eyebrow when she had heard him say that it may play tricks on her. "Well fuck" She wasn't to great at solving puzzles and this was going to be difficult. "I have an idea" Kayla had said although she wasn't exactly sure how it would end up. If she made a loud noise who knows what it would attract she didn't want to risk it she decided to ask Nothel what he thought of the idea. "If we make noise it would obviously attract them but who knows how many fucking people will show up if we do that." Kayla had said lightning flickering above her as she wasn't sure what they could do.
