    Job Info:

It had been a small while since El came back from his first job. A job that prooved to be far more interesting than it looked. However after that it was always small time jobs for him. Find a cat, help build a bridge, help students pass exams. Rarely Jackal would find a job about fighting some sand racoon or something. Needless to say, most of the good jobs ended up being taken by either more powerful mages or by groups that camped in front of the jobs board every day, so as to be the first ones to get good jobs. So El was stuck with a really boring life.

Until yesterday that is. It may have been the gods of luck that blessed him, or it may have beem karma repaying him. But, truth to be told, El didn't care what it was that gave him this luck. All he cared about was that he had founded a job, an interesting job. According to the job's info, the one who was going to take this mission up had to go to Era and train some grasshoper Rune Knights. A trip to be done. Nice rewards AND experience in training soldiers. Exactly what a future world-conqueror, with a love for trips, needed.

Upon arriving in Era, Jackal wasted no time. He made his way to the Rune Knights' training grounds. After going through some introductions with the local authorities, El was guided to a training field, that right now hosted around two hundred rookie Rune Knights. A smirk formed on his face. Without gaining anyone's attention, Jackal climped up a small platform and coughed loud and hard, so the rookies could notice him.

"Hello, future Rune Knights. I am El J. Dawnson and I will be training you for the next four weeks. I won't lie. It is going to be tough, harsh and possibly painful. Did I mention harsh?" By now most of the recruits were paying attention to him. Some looked scared, others indifferent...but what amazed El was that some of the recruits looked excited. Memorozing their faces for the future, El coughed again to hush all murmuring caused by the recruits. "Now, today is a free day. I want you all to go rest and be here tomorrow morning...at six!"

    The Following Morning

El had been at the training field for over an hour when all of the recruits gathered there. Now, with everyone being there he could finally start his lesson. El first explained that while magic is the weapon everyone uses, if their bodies are not in top condition then they would not be able to utilize magic at it's fullest. So for the first two weeks he was going to split them in groups, train their bodies and maximize their lethality without using magic.

El seperated the two hundred recruits into groups of ten. Each group had its own shcedule and was being trained to specilize in a different martial art. However all of the teams received lessons in the basics of the basics

By the end of the first two weeks there was not a single person in the group that was weak or not...fit. In addition every one of the recruits could adequately use a weapon or two, with some of them showing quite the proficiency. As for their skills in martial arts, they had far surpassed the skills of any other fighting force in the area.

Whith the first part of his training having ended, El immediately begun the second part. After runing some tests he seperated the recruits into two major groups. The ones that had enough magic power to use actual magic and the ones who only had enough magic power to use magic weapons.

The latter were given the necessary magic weapons (in all forms: spears, swords etc), training manuals and instructions they needed in order to train. Furthermore, El seperated them in smaller groups depending on what weapons they used. Each group was given a goal of creating at least one personal technique of their own (using their magic weapon of course) by the end of week four. Some talented individuals were also chosen and given lessons in first aid, smithing, enchancing, alchemy and magic weapon forging. El believed that by the end of week four they would have become some of the best Rune Knights ever.

As for the former, magic using, group El ran them through some other test to determine what kinds of magic each recruit was compatible with. Most of them turned out to have compatibility with almost all ordinary forms of magic, with a few showing talent for healing, take over magic and re-equip. What really surprised him though was that two individuals showed compatibility with his family's unique styles of magic. Synchronize and Harmonize. It could be really useful for the Rune Knights if these individuals learned this kind of magic. However, Jackal was prohibited from spreading this techniques outside the family.

El taught the magic using individuals the basics of magic theory and helped them develop their own style of magic. As for the magic-weapon users he pretty much left them on their own. After the first few days they could easily focus on what they had to do. Of course he still gave them hints and advice.

During the last three days, El hosted a tournament between the recruits. The one who would win the tournament would get a magic-weapon of high quality as a prize. Jackal had two reasons to do this. One: he could easily test the recruits' strength in a real fight. And two: he would have more free time during these last two days.

At the end of the fourth week, everyone had achieved their goals and the new Rune Knights squad looked very promising. With his job done, El spent a few more days in Era hanging out with his trainees who he had lived with and trained for a month. After all, both him and them had grown to be quite fond of the other. Before departing, El said goodbye to each one of them personaly, giving them some last piece of advice as a parting gift.
