    (As we have had some arguments in cbox lately about what is an element and what they are weak to I figured this was needed)

    Main Elements
    Fire: Element of Passion. The element of Fire is both creative and destructive, its qualities are Brightness, Thinness and Motion and its mode is Active. It is fire that we and our ancestors used to warm our homes, we use it to cook our food, we sit around it to ward of the darkness of night, and it fuels our passions.

    Strengths: Earth, Ice, Metal if Hot Enough
    Weaknesses: Water, Lack of Wind

    Water:Water, is a great necessity, without it nothing can live. Only earth and water can bring forth a living soul. Such is the greatness of water that spiritual regeneration cannot be done without it. Water is the beginning of all things and the first of all elements and most potent because of its mastery over the rest. Water is a cleansing, healing, psychic, and loving element. It is the feeling of friendship and love that pours over us when we are with our family, friends and loved ones. When we swim it is water that supports us, when we are thirsty, it is water the quenches our thirst, another manifestation of this element is the rainstorms that drench us, or the dew formed on plants after the sun has set.

    Strengths: Fire, Metal (rusts)
    Weaknesses: Lightning, Ice (freezes)

    Earth: The basis and foundation of all the elements is the Earth. The Earth is the object; subject and receptacle of all celestial rays and influences and in it are the seeds of all things. It is made fruitful by the other elements and the heavens, and brings forth all things of itself. It is the first fountain from whence all things spring; it is the centre, foundation and mother of all things. Earth is the element of stability, foundations and of the body. The Earth is the realm of wisdom, knowledge, strength, growth and prosperity. It is also the physical Earth on which we live and the very heart of life.

    Strengths: Wind, Lightning
    Weaknesses: Fire, Ice

    Wind: The element of Air is vital to human survival, without it we would all perish, its aspects are Thinness, Motion and Darkness and its quality is Active. Air is the manifestation of movement, freshness, communication and of the intelligence. Sound is another manifestation of this element. As an element, it is invisible, but its reality can be felt in the air that we breathe in every day. In magical terms, Air is the power of the mind, the force of intellect, inspiration, imagination. It is ideas, knowledge, dreams and wishes. Air is the element of new life and new possibilities and is essential to spells and rituals of travel, instruction, finding lost items, some types of divination, and freedom. Air aids us in visualization, a vital technique in magic.

    Strengths: Fire (removing oxygen), Earth (wind erosion)
    Weaknesses: Earth (lack of space to pass through, too heavy to pick up)

    Sub Elements

    Lightning: The element of electricity.
    Strengths: Water, Metal
    Weaknesses: Earth

    Ice: The element of freezing.
    Strengths: Water, Earth (destroying plants)
    Weaknesses: Fire

    Darkness: The element of shadows.
    Strengths: Light, Chaos
    Weaknesses: Light, Chaos

    Light: The element of clarity.
    Strengths: Darkness, Chaos
    Weaknesses: Darkness, Chaos

    Chaos: The element of Duality. (mixture of light/dark)
    Strengths: Light, Darkness
    Weaknesses: Light, Darkness

    Unholy: The element of corruption.
    Strengths: Holy
    Weaknesses: Holy

    Holy: The element of purity.
    Strengths: Unholy
    Weaknesses: Unholy

    Metal: The element of minerals.
    Strengths: Earth (Cutting), Ice (smashing)
    Weaknesses: Fire, Lighting, Water, Sound

    Sound: The element of hearing.
    Strengths: Metal
    Weaknesses: Silence

    I've been on a lot of forums before that have had elemental charts and so forth, while they do help in terms of saying which is strong against which etc. They like many things that could be integrated into more of a PvP system cause a bunch of arguments. Yes without them there are arguments, but you know what, if someone says in their app that it isn't weak to X and another person doesn't like that because it "doesn't make sense" then it only doesn't make sense from their perspective and limits creativity down to a bit more of a numbered concept, and lets face it... makes elements even WEAKER then they actually are now. Slayers make things nearly impossible to build a sole focused build around an element as they will just eat it for the most part, it's why people put "can't be eaten" which is also viewed as unfair, yet by eating you completely get rid of an attack etc.

    Basically it's a cool idea that works on different forums, but I think would miss the point of this one, which is supposed to focus more on personal story and cooperation through jobs, and socialization both in character and out of character. Those who got into arguments about this kind of thing typically won't be happy regardless of the systems in place, because most don't realize you could just move your magic back and edit it to give yourself either more of an advantage, if you really care about power, or you could figure out how to deal with the situation at hand and have fun with it.

    Anyway sorry for a mini rant, I did like the descriptions you wrote for the elements and the weaknesses are mostly spot on, but I don't think this really fits the forums overall attitude that Seijin wished to have in place. Limits creativity for magical weaknesses slightly, and can potentially cause more arguments later on down the road, like many things that might apply to PvP.

    This is a suggestion that has come up numerous times and each time it has been shut down because this is a magical world and in such a world things like fire being weak to water might not hold as much ground. Whilst I do agree that some people should specify elemental strengths and weaknesses in their magic and I also agree that unless there is some really good explanation that people's magic shouldn't be immune to slayers.

    The slayer system as it stands does not allow them to just eat everything after all.

    As another point PVP really isn't that heavy on site so in depth systems that only really count for PVP seem a bit....pointless.
