i am a lion and i want to be free
    lion
do you see a lion when you look inside of me?

What was this? The sounds of chains could be heard all over the Savage Skull guildhall, filling the Guild with its mesmerizing, yet terrifying noise, pushing away the usual silence that reigned in the guild for perhaps too long. Through the dark halls could be seen a short, curved figure walking silently, solemnly, towards a massive, elegant wooden door with beautiful cravings decorating its impecable surface. Big balls of iron and massive chains tied to the ankles of the poor creature, fated to wear them for the eternity. Shivering, a small hand reached up to knock several times on the massive wooden doors, which led to the Guildmaster office. Without warning, not a single sound coming from the inside, the door opened to reveal the gigantic circular room, filled with books, documents and artifacts of all sort, neatly slotted around the multiple shelvings. Prizes of hunts, maps, and the precious emblem of Savage Skull adorned the walls, decorating the circular hall, which more reminded of a library than anything else. Reluctant, almost falling from fear, the skinny girl made her way inside the office, her head low, hands gripped in front of her lap in a petty attempt to hide the fact that they were shivering. Although she had been a slave for Savage Skull for a few weeks already, ever since the new Guildmaster took over the throne, upon the abdication of the previous one, the poor, frail creature would never overcme the fear towards the cold, demanding icy blue eyes, and the constant peril of her head rolling on the floor. Many say that Harrigan was one of the worst Guildmasters, and nobody would really equal him, but the poor slave, now that she had experienced the cruelty of the Blonde who occupied the seat of the Guildmaster, could easily state that she was on par with Harrigan. For a reason she had been called one of the most loyal members. She was so awfully similar to him; although, as the slave had managed to notice, the new girl adored inducing incredible fear in her victims, before slowly torturing them, killing them slowly and painfully, or keeping them as slaves in grotesque conditions, making the poor people that were condemned to serve her to desire the death.

Ávia. A sweet, yet stern, cold voice filled the room, banishing the silence that had occupied the scenery for a few blissful moments. Shivering at the sound of the voice of the woman that had chained her down, that had forcefully taken away from her the right to be free, the slave, who, different than many others, had kept her first name, Ávia,  approached her new master slowly, pulling the chains tied to her ankles with difficulty. Albeit it was still difficult to walk with them, for they weighted so much, and only pulled her back, Ávia had gotten used to them in the time she had spent with them, and no longer tripped or fell because of them, thankfully. The day she'd get used to them completely would be a happy day. Although she obviously preferred taking them off before that day arrived. May I ask why you are bothering me? The tone, the way she said it, everything pointed towards the fact that Janneline Ariel, Guildmistress of Savage Skull, wanted answers, and she wanted them now. Ávia had learnt the hard way, that the beautiful, yet lethal blonde was not patient, at all.

I-I have completed the task you asked me to do, M-Mistress. Ávia said slowly, stuttering from the nervousness. Rising an eyebrow, elbows on the desk, Janna cushioned her head on her intertwined fingers, blinking several times as she watched the frail slave that stood before her, a smirk of pure satisfaction making its way on her lips. Very well, oh, very well indeed. Janna liked people who did what they were ordered to do, without making questions or trying to oppose themselves to her. Getting up from her seat, fixing her skinny, short red dress as she elegantly walked towards the door, icy blue eyes focused on the poor, terrified Slave, Janneline nodded once, hiding her smirk under her eternal emotionless mask, almost pushing the slave out of the Office, closing the door behind her. Very well, very well indeed. Have you informed Miss Thorn already? A nod from the slave, a satisfied look in Janna's eyes. Everything was going good, so far. Although she'd never admit it, Janneline was terrified, nervous about how this little guild matter would transcurr. Her achieving the title of Guildmaster had been unexpected, and, although she had always wanted it, the weight of her new responsibilities and duties fell on her shoulders all of sudden and scared her, making her think she is unworthy. For weeks she had been tortured by the pathetic thought, her mind trying to comprehend and make a strategy as to how to proceed with everything Harrigan had been forced to deal with, yet now that the time came for her to act like a Guildmaster, she had forgotten all plans and schemes. She was once again blank.

Yet, she had no reason to show that. As a proud Guildmaster, the blonde kept her fear and insecurities behind a frozen mask of confidence, which she made sure to let occupy her face as calmly, yet elegantly she headed down the Catacombs, one of the locations which pertained to Savage Skull, and which Janna had rarely been into; yet knew that Harrigan used to examinate members who were ready to rise through the ranks, achieve more power. And that was exactly her reason today to visit the curious location. A member that seemed to be powerful enough was ready to rise through the ranks, but, naturally, Janna would never let someone throught without an exam. Regardless who it was.

Post by Thorn 28th September 2015, 2:13 pm

Dark trees drooped over the shadows covered the spooky forest giving anyone to wonder through a hiding place, if there quiet enough but even then thorn had the trees whisper to her, but if anyone but a Savage skull member enter the forest you could bet they where ever made or mental ever way they would be a good fit but if they where going through to attack the guild they would have to cope with the garm, wolf like creatures that guarded Savage Skull even assisted some Savage Skull members on jobs. A smirk flowed across the blood red lips on a slender tall woman, easily merging with the trees around her as her skin had a wooden like feature to it. The woman’s hand was against a tree it looked as if they merged into the trunk through the wooden fingernails her. Chains rattle echoed through the woods but the woman had known who was coming through the forest and she smirked softly walking towards the rattling chains, mettle balls scraped across the floor getting close to plants but not quite flattening them, this was the only reason thorn let the person continue on the coalition course ”what do you want slave?” the woman’s voice echoed though the trees sharp and electric with life. ”M.... Mistress Janneline requests your presence in the catacombs” the girl seemed to shrink with every word. Thorn laughed a crawl laugh smirking lightly thorn nodded "very well!" thorn muttered walking way from the girl.

Thorn walked through the forest her hand glided over the trees and flowers, thorn was gental not to harm any as usual and headed over to the catacombs, Thorn had not ventured there that often to be honest the creeped even her out, thorn arrived quickly and waited for the guild master this would be the first time they had meet and on a time thorn wanted to gain power this made her nervous, thorn wondered how the power up would be done what she would have to face in the next couple of days.

Thorn had listen to Sinali talk about the triles Harrigan had sent her on, like when it involved her past, some involved killing someone at a party whilst surrounded by people. thorn wondered if Sinali really done that job the way she had told the tale. Thorn laughed softly as she continued to think of all the people that had told there story each as difficult as the other this made thorn wonder if hers would be as hard or harder with the new guild master there was no saying but once this was done at least thorn would know the guild master.

Thorn sighed softly and when the guild master appear Thorn stayed hidden for a moment she examined the elegant lady, Thorn had expected someone that looked scarier or even a man, this bit was silly considering thorn had been told Janneline was a female, Thorns head tilted as she looked at the woman even though Thorn was expecting something else but Thorn knew that you could not judge a book by the cover, well in this instance you cant judge a woman on her looks.  Thorn smiled lightly as she walked forward into the lighter parts, bowing to Janneline out of respect thorn waited to be told to sand "my mistress, I was told by a slave you wanted me!" she said softly.

i am a lion and i want to be free
    lion
do you see a lion when you look inside of me?

The cold inside the catacombs was much greater than it was on the outside. It being a chamber benath earth, surrounded by cold, stone walls, with only dim torches to illuminate or heat it up a bit most certainly did not help the situation. Janneline was not fond of this location, to begin with; the fact that she was forced to spend time in it from time to time frustrated her. Lips pursued, the chilling stare of the blond haired warrior ran over the dimly illuminated scene, an emotionless, yet mesmerizing and beautiful mask placed on to hide the disdain, evil and aversion resting in her heart, the Savage Skull guildmaster leaned against the walls of the Catacombs, patiently waiting for the arrival of a certain member of the guild. Her petite body shivered slightly as her bare shoulder made contact with the humid walls of the catacombs, her eyes darting over to the wall so to make sure that no insect or anything remotely similar was crawling on it, dangerously near her. Albeit a strong, fearless woman, Janneline wasn't particularly fond on bugs, to put it short.

Surprisingly enough, soon the calm, sweet voice of a certain black-haired member reached Janneline's ears, the sound of her steps reaching to her as well, causing the blonde girl to slowly turn her head to the side, her icy cold stare passing onto the member who had caught her attention; Thorn. Janneline was quite intrigued by this female in particular. Being the little, asocial being she is, Janneline never really socialized with anyone from the guild, the only exception being Aedre Crawford, a woman whom merely weeks ago she swore to serve until her death, like with Harrigan, and whom she never expected to end up being her unerling. Yet, Aedre was, in a few words, the only member of the guild Janna could rely on. Someone that had gained her trust, in some way. The duo had gone through several battles together, and had similar views on a series of subjects, and a generally similar attitude and beliefs, convictions, which was possibly the factor that caused Janna to trust Aedre with such ease.

Yet, Thorn was unknown to Janna. She knew her name; and that was about it. As mentioned above, Janna has always been asocial with her Guildmates, despite the fact they were supposed to be the only ones she could rely on, and the ones she was, and is, supposed to be incredibly close to. However, she still was asocial with them. The reasons? Unknown. There were many hypothesis about this weird phenomena, however. Janna, who was supposed to be the perfect knight, and someone that exceeded in team battles, was more of a solo wolf, an attitude forged by the many abandons an betrayals she had went through in her life. First, abandoned by her "father", or, as it would be scientifically correct to call him, her creator, then, abandoned by her "mother", the Goddess Nyx, who, despite knowning that Janna was no daughter of hers, had made sure to make her life a living hell, for no obvious reason. Or perhaps she tried to avoid getting Janna to near the gods? Who knew. One would never find out. Regardless, all these betrayals and tragedies had forged Janna to become a lone wolf, always working alone, and rarely socializing, hence why she didn't even know half of her Guildmates. As if it mattered, really. One way or another, she'd end up meeting them all in a few; One of the advantages of being a Guildmaster, you could say. You get to meet everyone without having to make any effort to befriend them or get to talk to them. Circumstances or common needs forced you to meet, which was rather convenient, to say at least.

Finally spinning around to face the newcomer, and the member she wanted to see, Janneline straightened, fixing her scarlet dress quickly, her cold gaze, her icy blue eyes focused on Thorn, not moving an inch. Would she scare the member of Savage Skull? Or would she seem ridiculous. It was funny. Janneline had been, and still was, the youngest of Savage Skull, excluding Sinali, and yet she had risen through ranks and had built up more power than many members, becoming a valuable addition to Savage Skull, which had soon been nominated Pillar, and now, Guild Master. Janna was the perfect exemple that age didn't determine power. Because Janna was a 17 years old that was more than ready to cut your head off, and more than capable to do that. She was not to be underestimated. Good Day, Thorn. I indeed requested your presence here today. And before you shower me with questions, if you plan on doing that, allow me to explain my reasoning. Janna's sweet, calm voice resonated through the empty halls of the catacombs, a barely noticeable echo generating as she spoke, a small accent audible as she spoke giving up that she was not from Fiore. Albeit the natives of Bellum spoke the same language as the Fiorean, the accent was rather... different. The Bellumean had a more noticeable accent, perhaps not as much as the Pergrandean, but still. Or most did, to say at least. I have heard from reliable sources that you have completed successfully a few requests and have been gathering fame as a dark mage through Fiore. I must admit, I am quite amused by that. But, you see, I am the type of person that wants to see everything with her own eyes, in order to be 100% sure, and this is why I called you here. I am really craving to see what you can do. But not against any enemies; but against your greatest fears. The demons of your past. All of us are scared by something, tormented by an error commited in the past. And in sights that you are growing as a dark mage, becoming more and more powerful, I wanted to see if you'd be capable to defeat your own fears and demons, the ultimate challenge to prove someone's physical... and mental strength. And in the end, if you succeed, I may consider a promotion...

The words slipped quickly out of the blonde's mouth, yet were perfectly comprehensible, despite the speed with which they were said, despite the accent, everything Janneline said was perfectly comprehensible, and that was a positive side. Letting her hands fall next to her body, Janneline proceeded to point behind her, to the entrance to the catacombs calmly, the emotionless look in her eyes and on her face never changing, not for a second, not letting out even a spark of her true emotions. Janneline was, truly, a master when it came to controlling emotions. I soon discovered the existance of a very peculiar type of beasts. They call them boggarts, and those malevolent creatures take the appearance of your worst fears or greatest demons. They inhabitate dark, cold places, and feed from people's sanity and fear, and don't stop until they've finally consumed someone's sanity completely, or until they are defeated. Well, to the point; I got a few of those in the catacombs, and you have to find them, and defeat them all. At the end of the catacombs, you'll find a rather peculiar book, which gives the answers to all of your questions, regardless how hard they may be, how personal or incredible they are. I want you to bring back that book to me, defeat the boggarts, and most importantly, survive. I'll be waiting in my office, which I believe you know where it is located. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Was Janneline going too far? Defeating one's fears or demons was insanely hard, as facing them alone was hard already. Perhaps she was going too far in her intent to discover the abilities and limits of her Guildmembers. Should she change it? Give her something easier...?

No. No. And no. Thorn was aiming to become a strong member, reach a greater rank. Janna could do anything, but be soft and easy with her from now on. She couldn't just give out the ranks and all to her members without asking them to prove their worth or loyalty to her, could she? She couldn't. Harrigan had asked her to complete a few minimal conditions in order to become a pillar, and considering Janna was planning the same for Thorn, she had a few conditions too... And this was one of them. Oh... And feel free to peak into the book at any time. Everyone has questions that need answers.

That said, the blonde walked past Thorn, hands next to her body, heading towards the door, and back to her office, where a warm seat and many reports and books awaited her. Where duties awaited her. Yet she had to be honest; her work was much easier than this girl's.

Thorn nodded lightly her eyes drifted in the only direction she could go for the time being that was. Thorn smiled widely her head tilted in satisfaction "I like corseing mayhem and fear where ever I go but I have not heard the fame part that is very interesting indeed." she said softly laughing Thorn lessoned intently to her job by what she was be against creatures that turned into your worst nightmare.  This worried Thorn quite a bit she had yet to deal with things from her past, was she going to have to face those people in the catacombs or was it going to be so much worse.

Thorn shivered slightly as her head raced with the possibilities of what might turn up looking at Jenneline and nodded lightly "i will not let you down!" she said her voice sounding a lot more shore than her head. when the guildmaster told her she could look into the book thorn had one question and she was going to be shore to get the answer to the only question she had.

Thorn sighed softly her eyes drifted to her destination and stepped forward she only toke one step when she paused she looked around making shore the guildmaster had gone. When she was shore she was alown she spoke to herself "kind of wish someone other than me was Here would make it less creepy" she whispered talking a long breath she started to walk forward.

Walking slowly thorn toke her time taking each step looking over the ground careful to to trip a trap. Her breathing was shallow and carm Thorn had walked for hours but seemed to be getting nowhere looking at the wall she tilted her head "I swear i have seen that spot before!" she said to herself, It seemed a impossible task. That when the foot steps came echoing through the catacombs heavy and solid the sound came closer by the minuet. could it be that the nightmares where starting that her nightmares where starting.

Taking her staff from her back thorn waited for the thing to get close to her, a blackened figure turned the corner and looked at Thorn its smile crocked and eerie, Thorns eyes widened in realisation "no, not you!" thorns voice shock with fright and the figures face smile widened "Ow my dear you look just like your mother such beauty is why I chose to steal you away, you where going to be grait my first cross between a powerful mage and mother nature!" the mans voice was ghoulish, Thorn shivered "My m... mother? I was born in captive I was bread by those people!" she said her voice had a fearful tone. "you are mistaken we craved someone that would be powerful someone that has a long line of power before them the looks of your mother helped as-well but I did not think you would look exactly like her, it is like looking into her eyes once more!" he spoke calmly but Thorn's body shock as she lissoned to the man speak she could not beleave it she was once normal with a mother and father why was she taken, why!

Thorn shock in anger most of all as the figure cackled a laugh the laugh would of been quite funny in any other situation, Shaking her head thorn refused to beleave what this man was saying and she sent forward a root pearcing his chest thorn then uses the root to shoot forward at the last minuet thorn released her root and skidded past the figure even close the face of the figure became no clearer than before. Thorn smirked softly thinking it was dead that she had fought her fear and won but the figure rose up and disappeared into nothing like it was just nothing to begin with.

Thorn looked confused but continued at a slow pace. Thorn had started to become tiered her eyes where heavy and her body was starting to ache. Thorn slid down the wall and sat on the floor sighing softly "just a minuet I will only rest for a moment thorn muttered to herself her eyes drifted closed. hours passes as thorn slept her eyes moved around as if he was in the mist of a nightmare. Eyes shooting open Thorn gasped for breath as she looked around her eyes full of fear. Thorn began to think of her guild master and her guild mates they would laugh seeing her like this they would think her unworthy of savage skull. Thorns eyes darkened and thorn stood up and started to move through the catacombs again her speed faster than yesterday.

Thorn turned corner after corner after corner thorn started to think that she was just going around in circles.  thorn stopped in her tracks looking around thorn had no clue where to go next that's when a new figure appeared this time a female her smile was so kind and thorn could not shake the feeling she knew her that she was someone important.

thorn tilted her head her mind tried to think of where she new this person from "ow my dear, you have grown so much! ow how beautiful you have become tell me have you been good my darling?" the woman's softly voice soothed thorn and she felt guilty how could she tell this woman what she had been doing the past few years. sighing softly thorn shock her head "i am sorry but I dont now you but no I have not been good after all you are in savage skulls catacombs i could not be here if i was not part of the dark guild!" she stated her voice was sharp and her voice was strong she had decided to be bad through and through the worst of the worst maybe even become the best dark mage that's what she hoped and this person wanted her to be good that made thorn shiver in disgust.

The figure shock her head taking a step forward the spitting image of thorn stood before her it was like looking into a mirror thorn toke a step back she doubted her vison could she be a twin, no she looked older than Thorn sighing softly thorn turned slightly "what is your name?" she asked her eyebrow raised.

the figure laughed softly and with kindness it was a strange but fermilier laugh thorn felt like she had herd it before "my name is Naraku I am your mother and the whole being bad is being good!" she said smiling it was odd she sounded so kind so good how can she speak of evil like it was nothing.

shaking her head her thorn shivered her eyes never left this woman "I have no mother they made shore of that just leave me alown!" she said sharply her fist shot forward turning into a root it stabed the thing in the side only wonding it thorn moved forward her eyes full of fire her other hand shot forward turning to root thorn sent it into the things stumac it turned to mist like shaddow's.

Thorn smirked softly she had thought she had defeated the thing but the mist gathered itself once again forming the woman cursing under her breath thorn turned her hands back to normal and toke her staff from her back thorn did not beleave in confental weapons "you think you can defeat me so easerly i am a former Savage skull mage the former guild master Divine Torment, Also a member of the Kugeki and actually the 'leader' of them, adopted daughter of the elder demon of Envy and trained by the elder demon of lust!" the thing growled it turned dark almost unrecognisable thorn readied herself she expected the worst to come.

the shadow woman shoot forward swiping her hand catching thorn's shoulder, thorn toke a sharp breath as her shoulder started to bleed but she brought around the staff sending it to the things side. What thorn did not expect was for the staff to go straight through the woman making thorn turn on the spot it was like the woman turned the spot where thorn aimed for into mist.

thorn toke a step back and toke a deep breath carming her mind looking over this woman thorn looked for any signs of weakness her eyes scanned her top to bottom but found nothing how was she meant to defeat something that was not really there "your a coward that's what you are using whatever to avoid my blows just to chicken to take them like a real Savage skull member would, you are just a fake!" thorn stated smirking she hoped to enrage the being enough to make them materialize fully.

the figures laugh changed is became twisted with anger as it became solid thorn smirked now it was a fear fight the figure went to strike again but thorn brought her staff up blocking the attack she struggled for a moment but finally thorn pushed the figures attack back she then swung her staff around this time with success the staff collided with ribs creaking then coursing the figure to gasp and clutch her side. coughing intensely the figure coughed a red substance up, blood it poured out of her mouth in a steady stream thorn had hert the figure this made her very happy.

Post by Thorn 24th November 2015, 3:02 pm

Thorn tilted her head the smirk of satisfaction on her face taking a slight step back thorn readied herself once more. the figure was doubled over her face looking at the floor as she coughed up more blood thorn laughed softly "you have come fare Thorn, you are more powerful thank you realize if you could just unlock that power you would be unstoppable!" the words sounded distorted and distant the figure faded into mist once more and disappeared sighing softly thorn put her staff back on her back looking at the wound thorn placed her hand over it, looking around there was nothing she could use as a presser pad "looks like things down here are trying to kill me this just got harder!" she stated to herself ripping the bottom of her dress off and placed it over the wound.

thorn sighed softly as she secured the fabric over the wound and she continued looking for the book that she was sent to find. hours past again it felt like thorn had been there for days her body started to ace she needed to stop to rest to gain her strength back. sitting down on the floor thorn sighed softly closing her eyes, thorn slumped over she was already fast asleep deep in dream world.

Again hours passed as thorn slept her mind blank. Fluttering her eyes thorn woke slowly her sleep had made her weary as she lifted herself up thorn looked about somehow she was in a different aria she swore this was not where she had stopped to rest. looking around thorn noticed she was within a room a book stood in the middle and a clocked figure stood beside it its eyes glaring at thorn. thorn shivered lightly the look was creepy and unseaterling thorn toke her staff once again from her back and readied herself for anything that was going to come her way "hello my dear welcome home!" the figure said in a male voice looking around again the room started to look like a lab with experimental objects all around thorn shivered stepping back slightly.

thorn was shocked to be back in this place how could it be how could they find her or was this just another trick of the bogarts, thorn could not tell her body shock in fear as she looked around thorn tried to find the exit the escape but there was nothing no door no hall leading out "what do you want?" she asked softly her eyes now on the figure thorn had this feeling she knew him but how where from. "we want you back!" he said that's when the other figures turned up about six of them all dark figures none of them with a real face thorn brought her staff around and it collided one of them but it caught the staff grabbing it off thorn making her have no weapon at all she sighted softly "looks like i have to use magic!" she stated to herself softly.

Thinking for a moment thorn moved slightly talking a deep breath and with the next outwards breath thorn did she released a toxic mist so think no one can see through it except thorn that was at least that is what she thought. It toke a few moments for the fog to cover the room moments past as thorn lessoned then the coughing stared this brought a smile to thorns lips walking to the middle thorn stretched out her hand to take blood but the hooded figure had a different plan, gripping her wrist the hooded figure yanked thorn away from her target "don't think you where the first they experimented with who do you think taught you your magic, This fog is useless against me all your magic is" he snarled bringing thorn in close to him he sniffed her smirking "still smell the same like failure, they should of thrown you on the bin pile the moment you where turned but that bloody scientist favoured you over the rest, that's how you escaped, he sacrificed himself for you what a waisted life" The Being continued to snarl his breath smelt like rooting apples.

A hand laid on thorns shoulder a man stood behind her his skin torn the smell of death on him he look so fermilier "you came back for me you kept your promise!" the man said and thorn shock her head "i did not come back this is just a nightmare I don't now where i am or who you are!" she said softly the mans face looked shocked he could not beleave the things thorn was saying.

thorn backed away from the man but the hooded figure still had her wrist so so she could not move to fare looking at the figure she smiled the words he used to describe her made thorn quite angry her hatred for this thing grew and grew her magic may not work but she could still win the fight if she was cleaver. Thorn brought her foot up and around she aimed for his face and it worked her foot collided with his face the crack of his jew a satisfied smirk crossed her lips as the figure let go of her wrist. thorn smiled as she turned back to the figure her smile widened thorn waited for his move witch was quick and thorn was sent flying back her rips cracked and her breathing sharp and painful her arm clutched her chest as she stood "you will not win you will never get the book you will never go home!" the figure growled as he shot forward racing over to thorn his hood fell thorn could see his face, the dark features of wood stretch over his skin thorn knew then her was the same as her he had not lied about her not being the only one but she also new his weakness. grabbing the torch from behind her and swiped him as he past setting his clock alight the fir soon spread over him and screams of agony made thorn smirk the vision of the lab started to disappear becoming smoke thorn could see the book once more and she ran for it grabbing it as she passed, thorn shot back through the catacombs the sooner she was out the better. thorn did not stop she just kept running never looking back, thorn spent hours figuring her way back to the start but finally she found the entrance back to the guild sighing softly she smiled walking through the door she made shore the door was shut behind her so nothing could get out.

looking down at the book thorn sighed lightly "all that for this thing!" she stated lightly shaking her head she walked slowly through the guild her arm still clutched her chest and even though shorn could not see it her face and bloody was black and blue with bruising. thorn stooped outside the guild masters office and tapped lightly on it waiting for entrance to be granted.
