Demonic Insects

"Its Knight Time for these guys." he said making a pun, which was again a strange sight in itself, and also naming the spell. The heavy looking armor that surrounded his body detached and began to swirl around Kaya slowly resizing until it formed into a full sized battle armor which clipped onto her. It would slow her down slightly, but would protect her from getting too much damage. It had a few openings, but no armor was perfect. Aegis however had not vanished as most would expect. Instead he was in a much lighter looking form. His armor was black with golden trim in various places and also consisted of some dark reddish purple cloth. In truth he looked a lot more traditional 'black knight' now. His eyes twinkled as he leapt up with surprising agility onto the back of Kaya his balance perfect. "Let's go."

The surge of magic power caused by the transformation of Kaya and the dearmoring of Aegis was enough to rouse Magna from his slumber. He peaked around the rock and stared at the light armored Aegis and the heavy armored Kaya fending off against two beasts. He nudged Jin trying to wake him and then made a shushing gesture and pointed. "Let's watch...i've not seen these two fight without us before...at least not together" he was intensely curious to see how they would fight together. What's more he was surprised to see the technique that Aegis had deployed. He'd been talking about it for a while, a technique to help him fight with Kaya, but Magna himself had not seen it yet. It was honestly quite surprising and also very impressive. Kaya looked fearsome before and now she just looked terrifying. The armor had equipped in just the right way to enhance her natural ferocity.

Magic:

As the insect came charging at Aegis he leapt over the creature and performed a hand stand whilst seeming to somehow sweep his axe round with his leg and slice into the creature's hard shell. In this lighter form he was much, much faster. The insect hissed and turned, but Aegis leaped over it once more this time using gravity to his advantage and performed a sort of front flip strike once more cutting into the creature's back. Those watching would notice that the two blows had so far formed a perfect cross on the creature's back. It seemed Aegis had something up his sleeve. Once more the creature hissed in pain, but Aegis dodged again. Or he almost did, but instead got a swipe to the arm. he didn't let it throw him off though and struck again this time two swift diagonal slices forming a perfect asterix on the creature's back.

Magna watched in anticipation. Aegis was clearly up to something and Kaya in her armored state, which made her all the more fearsome, was tearing apart her own opponent. "The rate thing's are going I wonder why we needed to come along at all." Magna said with a chuckle. "Except to stop them getting carried away."

The creature this time decided something different and leaped towards Aegis, but he jumped backwards and then flipped off of Kaya's back landing on the ground beckoning the creature to come face him. As it leaped down he lunged forward and just as its moment of landing he struck with the spiked end of his axe in a thrust. It was perfectly aimed at the centre of the cuts. Cuts which had weakened the armor to some extent so that when he struck the cracks rapidly widened shattering the entire shell and allowing the spear-like tip to stab into the creature's back killing it instantly. "No contest." he said as he pulled his weapon out and turned not even watching the creature fall to the ground. The movement seemed almost straight out of a lacrima cartoon.

That just left two more for him to deal with. He swung his axe down and assumed a fighting stance reminiscent of a kung fu martial artist. "Bring it on." he said. The two looked wary. Kaya was fearsome in her size and strength whilst Aegis they feared his skill. Using pure skill rather than raw power he had shattered one of their strongest member's shells and brought him down with one true blow. However, of the two opponent's Aegis seemed the easier to bring down. He didn't have armor after all. Perhaps they could outnumber him and overwhelm him that way. Or so they thought.

As they prepared to attack though Aegis was suddenly in between them. He'd use their moment of indecision to close the distance. His axe was at full length now and he used it horizantally to shove the two back and throw them off their balance. He leapt back prepared for his next move. The axe glowed brightly first starting at the gem-like spike at its based before flowing through the blade and then suddenly as he thrust it towards them a huge creature made of green energy tore towards them smashing into them and knocking them over entirely. [color=green]"Wrath of the wyvern."[/color] The blast had been a huge wyvern with a 20ft wingspan. It was one of his strongest moves and his one true way of hitting multiple opponents. The roar was enough to rival Kaya's own. They weren't down entirely, but they would struggle to get back up. On their shells they couldn't really get a limb down nor open those shells up to use wings. It was a perfect way to wear them down.

Magic:

Together the two armored allies had destroyed the insects without even much effort. Sure they had both used spells that might be considered aces in the hole, but it had allowed Magna and Jin to keep their own magic power in reserve. It was a good thing too because almost as if on cue the ground began to shake, Kaya's fur began to bristle beneath the armor, Aegis assumed a defensive stance and Magna held his nose. The smell that was coming near them was revolting.

"Looks like they were coming at us to wear us down before their boss showed up." Magna said summoning up his frying pan and preparing for battle. Aegis and Kaya probably could handle this, but it would be a tough run thing. Even Magna's poor magic sensory could tell this thing was dangerous. It might take all four of them together to bring it down without anyone falling in the battle. "I don't think i'll be much help, but let's do this."

He took a step forward bracing himself for what was to come then he took a deep breath before running to stand next to Aegis assuming his own defensive stance. "Aegis, Kaya this is the one we came for. Let's bring this down." His eyes had once again gained the red tinge that showed his seriousness, but unlike before they had now become much more monkey like further symbolising his descent into dyadhood. The beast was truly massive, towering above the trees, but more than that it was grotesque. Magna was going to have to go all out against this one, but first he needed to get it into the clearing so he didn't set the entire forest ablaze. He threw the pan into the air and scraped his hand together before launching off a fork and knife at the creature's eyes. As the items were launched he deftly caught the pan and prepared for whatever it would throw at them next whilst leaping backwards to gain a bit of distance.

Magic:

Kaya's attack was comical and almost cliche video game style. However, whilst the creature didn't seem that damaged from it the rage was clear on its features. The much faster moving Aegis quickly picked up Magna and began to run and then leaped onto the back of Kaya. Placing the cook down he once more leaped. This time he landed next to Jin who he swept up without word and placed on the back of Kaya. "Kaya. Sorry for putting the strain on your back, but you can get us to the battle ground faster." Aegis said with a definite apologetic tone to his voice. He really hoped the giant sabertooth wouldn't mind too much. It allowed her to show off her strength and speed.  Magna thought the idea was good and turned to throw another set of knives and forks at the beast. Once more they were blocked, they wouldn't of been much good at the distance anyway, but they were enough to keep its fury up. "The armor will return to normal soon" Aegis warned everyone. It would be harder to hold on once the armor with its obvious grips and almost naturally formed saddle had faded. However, against a creature of this size speed wasn't as important to Aegis and being able to take the damage.

As they continued to ride Kaya towards the mountains, and a hopeful clearing, Magna observed the creature. "It looks like its bottom might be its weakest point...its like a normal insects. If I can hit that with some heat and then chill it fast enough I might be able to stop it moving." Magna said as an idea for how to stop it. Stopping it moving would give them an edge of mobility, but it might put the creature on the defensive. Still it would be a good way to get some decent damage done on it. "Its also slow so if I'm thinking we use our speed to our advantage...we shouldn't get hit then."

Magic:

Jin had never seen Kaya speak in her titanic form, maybe her personality was altered with the transformation as well. She was definitely more serious and brutal. This time too, she did not say anything, she just continued to sprint further with the entire group on her back. The armor on her wasn’t helping but it appeared that she could manage it. ”Good thinking Aegis, I’m sure she can manage” said Jin in her stead. The impressive spell of Aegis was about to worn out but that was to be expected, it had been used long enough. ”Thanks for the warning”, it was considerate of him to mention it to Jin and Magna. They could now take this information into account when devising the next strategy.

Confirming Magna’s deduction, Jin used his heat vision to analyze the body structure of the creature. It appeared that Magna was spot on. Even though the structure of this creature appeared to be nothing like the usual insects, it still had the weakness of normal insects. ”I have a spell that can hit from the ground, it should be ground breaking so we’ll need to keep some distance. The creature will end up stuck in the ground after that, so we can take advantage of that situation or we can try to turn it upside down. If we can manage that, then our battle is probably over in an instant”, said Jin giving his input. He did have a spell that could devastate the ground underneath them but the colder version should be fine. It wouldn’t spread any fires and would cause some considerable damage. However, Magna’s plan of attack was feasible as well. They could slow it down but to do some sizeable amount of damage they still needed the lower part of the creature exposed.

Kaya rushed onwards and finally managed to take them into a clearing. She turned to face the creature and stopped, there was still quite a distance between them and the creature. ”So what’s the plan?” said Jin getting off of Kaya and gently stroking her back, acknowledging her strength and effort.

Suddenly, the armor on Kaya began to glow brightly. The spell was coming to an end and that was the cue to jump off the back of the large sabertooth and that was exactly what Magna did. It was a fortunate coincidence that it had run off just as they got to the clearing where they would have their final showdown with the colossal insectoid leader. Or at least Magna hoped it was the leader. "We need to knock it over so we can hit its weak spot. That seems like the best idea. Otherwise we'll have to hit it more. Problem is...knocking it over." Magna said and looked at Aegis who was now back in his fully armored mode. He was much more able to take blows in this form and felt much more comfortable, even if it slowed him down. "If we just the ground break at the right point that should get it onto it side...that should be enough I think. We'll distract him whilst you prepare" His look at Aegis turned quizzical and the knight nodded an aura of determination surrounding him.

"Together." they said in unison and both charged in. They were communicating telepathically to try and get the best co-ordination possible. The axe wielding knight was going for one its legs. Magna went for the other side launching off another one of his energy forks. It was trying to puncture the side. However, as the two of them got to the side it suddenly let out a huge blast of cold that threw both of them back. The chill of the attack soaked into their limbs and muscles slowing their movement. Or at least that's how it worked on Magna. In the case of Aegis it somehow hit the spirit bound to the armor. What's more the armor was cracking from the damage. It wouldn't last much longer.

"Looks like it has magic unlike the small ones." Magna said with irritation. But it also gave him an idea. If this thing used ice then he would go for the opposite and go for heat. An aura of heat surrounding his hands and then he swung out with his hand and the image of a red hot knife formed in the air rapidly moving. Hot energy began to fly at the target. However, as it got further away it grew bigger. This was one of his most powerful attacks. "Hot score."

Magic:

It wasn't so much that they hadn't heard or understood the explanation. No, they understood it perfectly. However, getting it into the right position so that Jin's spell would be enough to turn it over was the tricky part and that is why they had gone in. Jin's support using his spirit warriors, an ability that Magna was quite curious about, had been very good. However, the attacks had caused the creature to launch off another 'spell' if that is what it was. It was a spray of acidic green mist that immediately destroyed the spirit warriors and despite trying to leap back out of its range it was enough to finish off the outer layer of Aegis' armor. He was now in the 'lighter' form from before, but not out of choice like when he used Knight Time. Now he was unable to use two of his spells, which was quite unfortunate. However, it had given him enough of a speed boost that he was able to clear out of the way of Jin's powerful vortex.

Magna on the other hand had managed to dodge the acid spray entirely. He also managed to dodge the plasma vortex Jin had used to turn this creature upside down and expose its weaker flesh. Now was the time to use another one of his powerful combinations. The creature had been hit by intense heat and now it was time to hit it with the other end of the spectrum. He focused and clinked his hands together an intense 'ice' forming around them before he swung his hand and launched off a large fork made of ice straight at the exposed flesh. "Deep Freeze Cutlery" As it hit the cold spread for a 35m radius intensely chilling the creature's body. Due to being intensely hot before the sudden cold was enough to cause a huge amount of extra damage. The creature's body began to rupture and split from the sudden and vast temperature change.

Aegis meanwhile had ran over to Kaya and got onto her back. As she leapt at the creature to perform her own assault he leapt up off her back and high into the air his spear and armor glinting in the moonlight before he came flying down. A green aura surrounded his axe and he slashed into it the axe going straight through it to the floor. With the combined assault the creature was writhing and in its death throes, but it was not yet dead. It needed one final blow.
