-She has eidetic memory, an analytical mind that works very quick and efficiently.  Generally speaking,  she's (Perhaps clichely) much sharper and intelligent than the foolish might take at face value.
-She is dauntless and doesn't get intimidated.  Going as far as to consider how to get around overwhelming odds before turning away from something.
-She is very good at throwing together disguises,  acting as other people, blending in,  and very good at being an escape artist combined with high flexibility.   She's a very slippery person to get a hold of.


Personality:
Valin is very free spirited and even rambunctious.  She can be seen yelling at people on the side walk,  stringing profanities at some jackass who looked at her funny.  She is very vocal and open about what she has on mind and doesn't really hold herself back from saying whats what and doesn't censor herself well. 

Despite that she does have a sense of when she should probably shut up,  what words might hurt this person or that.  She doesn't say things with any real malice,  even if she might be cursing a storm.  To say things that cut deeper she'd have to actually hate a person,  and it's somewhat hard to get on her hate list.  She may be quick to yell and shout but things just don't really -stick- to her.  She might be extremely pissed one moment but cooldown within a minute or two. 

She doesn't really take shit from anybody and is quick to let people know who the hell they are dealing with before they say anything they might regret.  And by who,  she means her fist.  She doesn't let people walk over her and can't stand by and let others do the same to others in her presence,  even if she may do the same herself.  She has a hypocritical mindset regarding this,  as though nobody else is allowed to be a delinquent around her as though she were some white knight sparkley do-gooder even as she swindles drinks and generally gets what she wants.

She has a soft spot for the traditional innocent types and for kids that are respectable.  She can't stand snot-nosed brats,  but well mannered well behaved kids - perhaps hypocritical based on her own antics - even if playful at times,  are amusing to her and she likes to hope maybe they'll keep some of their innocence longer than she did.  She tends to show a touch of affection towards them and will go out of her way to help such kids in need.

She can't stand weakness in adults however and feels annoyed with people that can't defend themselves at least in some rudimentary form.  She gets frustrated with them,  especially if she feels she is stuck with them for one reason or another.  She'll often be passive aggressive in such cases and push them to their limits to make them keep up with her,  even if at a reduced pace on her part.


Regarding combat Valin is a very aggressive but showy sort.  She likes to play with her enemies somewhat and can drag fights on if she doesn't have any agenda or goal she needs to meet.   She is very aware of her surroundings and pays attention to enemies.  Even if she takes them lightly,  they still have her full attention and she doesn't actually take them for granted.   She's playful, not stupid.   She believes that underestemating any opponent is a grave sin that can lead to death.  
She fights everyone as though they could be a legitimate threat to her,  though she doesn't seem like it.  She takes risks,  gambles.  She is very fluid and agile on the field rarely staying in any one spot for more than a second at worst depending on the environment she is in.  

There's a time to be playful and a time to be serious though.  If it's more than just her life on the line but the lives of others,  others she may care about or feels protective towards,  she fights with a fierce intensity that does not fool around.   What might have been playful banter and teasing jabs become harsh and violent as she uses her keen insight to the fullest extent of her ability,  holding nothing back to end the bastard as quickly as she can. 

She fights in melee with ease,  keeping up with highly skilled fighters,  but where Valin shines is in the usage of firearms.  She is a fantastic marksman with an impeccable instinct with a gun or bow,  but particularly with firearms.  Such things come as a second nature to her with the additional benefit of having actual formal training with them and plenty of field experience.   This extends effectively to any projectile method of fighting.  She tries to get to know herself and  her limitations,  familiarize herself with the things she can work with and when she does something she knows exactly what she wants to do and how to do it.

As a leader Valin can surprise.  Her training included how to lead a team and in her experiences she's learned to manage larger numbers of people.  She is quite capable and decisive.  When she gives a command her certainty pulls through and seems to scrub doubts in those under her.   Her confidence can be contagious.   Her reckless behavior is still present but she thinks things through and considers the abilities and limitations of who she has to work with and will not put individuals in positions that exceed their capacity to carry out the order and does not sacrifice anyone but herself if the situation calls for it,  always giving herself the most dangerous tasks unless she's more needed somewhere else that someone else can't cover for her.

As a follower however...  Valin suffers.  She has a hard time sticking to the orders of others and will usually act on her own opinions and considers it a fault of the so-called leader for not informing her on any important information they might have held to themselves.   If anyone orders her around as though they have the right to do so are liable to find themselves on their ass and a very pissed Valin storming away on her own.  Any commands that are too harsh or that she feels are foolish are almost impossible for her to bring herself to carry out.


Likes:
• Chocolate: Valin adores chocolate and there is no better taste in life to her eyes.  The things one can do with chocolate give it endless novelty and things to do. More or less.  Maybe less.  I'll cut you.   She likes many sweet things in general and loves deserts.   She loves eating in general however.  She just has a sweet spot for seets.  Anything that can pleasure her tastebuds is a novelty in its own right.
• Trickery: Valin likes fooling around.  She's out to have fun and doesn't really take many situations seriously.  As such, she loves using tricks and wit to get through things in life.  Despite being tricky,  she doesn't normally like to blatantly cheat if the situation doesn't call for it.
• Hedonism: Valin is quite hedonistic.  She seeks out pleasures of all sorts.  Whether it's a touch or a taste,  she likes to revel in things that give pleasure.  When she's having downtime you can usually find her wherever such things can be found.   She just lives to have fun.

Dislikes: 
• Chocolate: Valin loves chocolate,  but.  But.  Valin dislikes "Mundane" chocolate.  Boring, souless,  shoddy second-rate chocolates from cheap vending machines or convienience stores irritate her, in an almost "Blasphemous" opinion of them.   She still eats it though...
• Mood Killers:  She doesn't like it. It brings things down and there's just no need for that.  There's a time and place for seriousnesness,  even if it's amost never.   She can be serious at times,  but really...  
• Structure: Valin dislikes it when things get too rigid.  When things get all "official".  She dislikes the confines it creates and the general stuffiness of it all.  Acting like this or that is so important.

Motivations: 
• Have fun: She's just out to have fun.  She seeks out new experiences and new pleasures all the time.  It is more important to her than any monetary reward.
• Challenges: Part of having fun, most the time,  she enjoys challenges and difficult odds.  She can be somewhat suicidal this way and takes gambles with her own safety.
• No-holds:  She wants to avoid serious attachments and obligations.  She doesn't want to be held under the authority of another and refuses any form of pacts or oaths.

Fears: 
• Losing Independence: She fears the chance that she may lose her ability to be self-sufficient.  That she might lose her magic,  that she might become crippled.  That she might be less than simply human, but someone unable to even go out for groceries on her own.
• Her father: One of the only people to have control over her she can't explain.  She can't fight him,  she can't hate him,  but the thought of him brings back terrible memories and brings out a side of her unseen.  Some scars run deeper than the skin. 
• Being forced under someone's thumb: She hates being controlled and she hates being played (Though her definition of what constitutes that is probably a lot more lienient than many).  She would sooner sever her own limb than give in to any sort of binding contract.
