After handling a few requests in Hargeon, Adeptus made his way to Era. He had every intention of travelling there using his newly acquired pirate ship but he had no idea how to captain it and hoped that he may be able to find a class or someone who could teach him. It was a little unusual for him to want a pirate ship in the first place but it was free, so why not take it? Upon arrival at Era, the young mage didn’t waste any time in finding the authorities who had actually put the request up in the first place. Once he found them, they informed him that a convict had escaped custody and that it was his job to find the man and bring him back. Learning this, Adeptus left the company of the authorities and began to traverse Era in search of the man in question. They had given a brief overview of the man’s appearance but not much more than that.

Unfortunately, it took Adeptus quite some time before he found the target. He was standing on a rooftop looking down at a little home squeezed in between a bakery and a coffee shop. Adeptus didn’t waste any time and immediately leaped from wall to wall, then to roof to roof until he was standing behind the convict. Before Adeptus could say anything, the convict pointed to the small home. “Please... I will gladly go back with you freely, just let me watch my family for a moment longer.” Adeptus, although it could not be seen behind his mask, raised an eyebrow in curiosity. “That’s your wife and daughter?” He asked the man, taking a few steps forward so that he was standing beside the him cross armed. The man nodded in response but didn’t say anything else.

Two hours passed and the two men stood atop the building in silence the entire time until now. “Okay, take me in.” The man said, turning to Adeptus. “Thank you.” The young mage didn’t say anything to the convict, although he could not relate as Adeptus didn’t have children or anything, on some level he understood the man and he was fine to leave it at that. Adeptus lead the man back to where the authorities were waiting but before they could take the convict back into custody, the young mage approached them and informed them of the situation and how he willingly came back. Not that he was entirely sure, but he hoped that informing them of this information would make it so they took it a little easier on him or perhaps allowed visitation rights. Adeptus wasn’t sure what the man had done and frankly he didn’t care. He didn’t think the convict was a bad man or at least from what he could tell. After the authorities cuffed the convict and took him away, another approached him and handed him a bag of jewels, indicating that the job was completed.

Before leaving Era to head back to Magnolia, Adeptus stopped by the home in which the convict observed for several hours. Knocking on the door, he was greeted by his wife and although she was somewhat offended and irritated, asked that she tried to take her daughter to see her father while he was in prison.
