Omens were bad enough when you knew about them, but to ignore their presenting sings anyways was a dangerous game. The people seemed indifferent to the looming sun as it sunk beneath the horizon. Peace village was, as the name implied, rather peaceful. Today seemed to be no different. The chorus of laughing children that played in the fields was accompanied by the smell of cooking food and the hammering of rooftop shingles. It had been yet another long and eventless day for these villagers, living their lives as best they could within such a small community. None even noticed the woods around the town had gotten seemingly darker and more sinister as the day began to end. As if to tempt fate, the children of this quaint little town would continue their imaginary adventures closer and closer to the tree line, unaware of the dark threat peering at them from the shadows.

Whatever it was people were doing in this town on this fine day was completely interrupted by the scream of a young girl that could be heard throughout the entire town! People instantly stopped what they were doing and looked on towards the source. A group of adults put down their work and ventured to the village's edge in a sprint only to see the field where the children had been playing to be completely empty... The tree line stood silent, the soft breeze rustling their leaves as their bases were covered in only darkness that came with the setting sun. After a few more moments of tense silence something happened. Within the black of the forest something stirred. A low growl echoed from the trees before a shadowy, hulking, figure revealed itself across the field. The darkness continued to creep upon the town as twilight fell, and with it came the low visibility.

Distant yells from the other side of the village could be heard as birds fled their tree tops in fear! Something was happening, and it wasn't right. "Monsters! Monste-" A man was cut short by the blood curdling screech of some unknown terror echoed across the fields! Before long more figures joined the behemoth and began to lumber through the darkness towards the lantern lit town. Warning bells rang across the village as the citizens quickly dropped what they were doing and rushed towards their homes! Parents grabbing their kids and clearing the streets as more screeches could be heard within the darkness of the forest, and getting closer...

What followed was a complete massacre, the citizens trying their best to stave off the threat but through the darkness the hellspawn came. Monsters of many differing sizes and appearances, tackling villagers as they ran, dragging woman by their hair and throwing men through the walls and windows of their homes! A fire had started somewhere, its bright orange glow lighting up the night as a chorus of screams and yells filled the air!

The nightmares had returned to this town, and they were on the hunt...

Post by Aristotle 29th January 2021, 10:29 pm

Spending the time she had wanted to spend traveling about gave her time to reflect on things in her life. Be it the mother she detested, the impositions given to her and forced to carry on in life, the darker, more withdrawn phase of her life had mattered now in present day. However, it never stopped one from dwelling on their past when the time was long and short of it was activities to fill it. Her mind often went adrift in times of free thought for an excessive amount of time. To that, she'd often find herself making things move along quicker. Be it leaving enjoyable places for happier trails or forcing herself to interact with strangers in order to let her mind become occupied with other things besides her own past. It wasn't a hard issue to tend to, thankfully.

Peace Village was one of those places where Aristotle had felt a little more than comfortable. It almost was made to feel like a second home. Much to her delight even, there were others within that knew how to hand sign, which only made her feel much more normal. having mainly ever communicated through Napedian Sign Language and the more common Fiore Sign Language made communication much more fun for everyone involved. She could see just why it was called Peace Village. If it weren't for her wanting to continue exploring the rest of the country of Fiore, she would have probably planted her feet down in the village here and set up shop, so to speak. Besides, she wasn't sure if they could help with her current predicament and that had become her mission within this place.

A strange box had been given to her that she had been told was passed down through her family for generations. Not one single person with no amount of might or power, neither deft or force could open this box or even make the lid budge. Tools could not pry its components loose and magic did nothing to it either no matter the form used on it. Ari's mother obsessed over this box almost as much as she had in making sure Aristotle knew her lineage of magic and asserting herself to the summons within its capabilities. After she was arrested and placed with the Napedian prison, she had made habit to ask about the box every time she managed to speak to Aristotle. Though much to her expectations, the daughter cared not for it. However, when she left Napedia to hide within the borders of Fiore did she receive the box to take with her. Should someone else with their family or someone else come looking for it, it was best she take it and find answers to this mystery.

When the disturbance hit the village, some were immediately confused. Meanwhile, the deaf woman knew nothing about it. She had been enjoying herself with a nice, delicious lunch when someone grabbed her attention. The panic in their face got her to reach into the bookbag she had with her and pulled out an odd looking device. Shaped like a cat ear like hairband, the summoner slipped it onto her head and then put the earbud applications into her ears. After a moment, it began to react and the sounds of screaming, panicking cries, and destruction was now apparent. "Go hide, get as many childrens as you can. Now, rapidement!" Motioning to them, she got up and made her way out of the building, watching many creatures ravaging the village.

Abyssal matter would appear along her left side, sculpting itself into the shape of a trident. Taking a formal battle stance towards the creatures, she would stare them down with the intent to stall until the villagers could escape. "Viles bêtes, en garde!"

Post by Mythica 30th January 2021, 11:45 am

As the night dragged on, so too did the constant battle in the town. A few villagers who possessed some magical ability attempted to rally themselves against the new threat, after all Peace Village still had to defend itself in some way or another. Bodies lay across the streets, as though the monsters had no interest in the villagers other than killing them. What were their motives? Why were they here? And how did they appear so suddenly and in such great numbers? Questions that nobody could afford to think about right now as they were too busy trying to save their own skins from the onslaught of hellspawn. As Aristotle exited the building and laid witness to the carnage some of the beasts stopped what they were doing and sniffed the air, before facing her directly. In a show of malice they bared their fangs and made their way towards the girl with some malevolent desire. Something about these monsters would feel eerily familiar to the girl, as if she had been in their very presence before. It wasn't a good feeling either, one that sunk your stomach and made you head swim. As if some creeping darkness was enclosing just behind you.

Far from the screams of terror and bloodshed a lone figure stood in the tree line, observing the chaos from across the fields. She seemed rather normal looking, relatively speaking. The young girl wore a simple white blouse with a black skirt, tights, and boots. Her long black hair tied neatly into two even twin tails that rested upon her shoulders. An ominous yellow glow emanated from beneath her bangs with a look of indifference upon her face. "I've finally found you..."

While the defense of the few wizards in the town was a just and valiant one, it ended up proving futile in the end. Peace Village was simply never prepared for an assault of this magnitude, and why would they be? It posed no threat nor strategic value to anybody, meaning that anybody who had an interest in attacking such a place must have been purely black of heart. And so she was, the creeping danger and the bane of so many people's lives. Mythica walked through the flames of the destruction as the monsters ignored her completely, chasing down and slaughtering everyone around her. And as quickly as it came, the attack was over. The fallen lay strewn about across the smoldering ruins as the nightmarish creatures picked through the remains.

As bleak as this outcome may have looked, there had been a few survivors. For reasons unknown to them, the few remaining villagers that were still alive had not been killed by the monsters. Instead they were herded towards its center, including Aristotle. There they stood, completely surrounded by the drooling and frothing nightmares, all of which waited patiently for some unseen purpose.

"I would love to congratulate all of you!" A rather young and weirdly cheerful voice called out to them from behind. Most of the villagers instantly turned to see her standing between the monsters with a grin. "You have all survived the first round and get to move onto the semi finals! GO ON! CONGRATULATE YOURSELVES AHA!" She cackled, taking a moment to calm herself down before she walked closer to the survivors. Her aura was unlike anything anyone had felt, it felt off, like it didn't belong. "Now... We can move onto the next test! I hope you all studied. For failure means... Well uh, we'll get there soon enough." Mythica exclaimed with a clap of her hands. She took a moment of silence to scan the small group before her mismatched gaze met Aristotle's. She stared at the girl for a long hard minute without saying a word, her expression completely neutral. Without warning it changed again to a smile as she took her eyes off the woman and looked at the group as a whole again. "Shall we get started then...?"

It was harder for her to ignore her surroundings. The mangled and ravaged corpses that hung around the streets were enough to churn her stomach. Even as the blonde woman looked on at blood thirsty creatures, they all stopped their actions in order to look right towards her. The sinking feeling of regret had started to overcome her little by little. Even now they squashed the mages and even armed civilians that tried to defend their village with little to no effort. If they couldn't do anything to them, what did she think she had in her to do it? Some creepy, ancient, dark magic? One she never wanted? It didn't matter in the moment right now. She was going to put it to a good use and that would be to try and save as many people as she could.

Her concentration had been broken multiple times by the sound of frantic screaming and this ominous feeling. Something that seemed to pierce her to the core. It was beyond the sensation of being watched, it was like being read from the inside-out. A very unearthly and different feeling, however she felt it to be something she'd felt before. Was it something to do with her ancestry? Was it one of those instances where you feel the memory of a past life within your own in form of deja vu? Whatever it was had begun to drive her mind off of the fierce creatures near her. Aristotle had begun to feel her mind moving away from the focus of the fight to bring her mind to the brink of the reality before her when in the blink of an eye, it stopped.

Was she just lost in thought too long? The creatures all stopped moving and the few that were found and around were just nearby Ari as she attempted to defend them from the invanding monsters. But, it changed when a beamingly positive voice cheered from the other side of the mob. Making way for them stood a seemingly normal looking girl, but again that feeling hit. Who was she? Just looking at her began to make her breathing heavier. A sense of fear oozed from the stranger in a sense that was absorbed like a sponge within the deaf mage. Though she could pick up her voice, the girl couldn't stop looking with an expression of horror. Her hands were shaking, both of fear and frustration.

But the girl paused for a moment, meeting Aristotle's and remaining quiet. That feeling alone paralyzed her. Even so much so that breathing felt impossible. There's no way this girl was some associate of her mothers either. This all had to be a coincidence, right? "Just what kind of game are you playing? These are peoples lives you're playing with!" Ari finally snapped back, breaking the hurdle of fear imposed on her by the mere sight of this woman.

Post by Mythica 31st January 2021, 11:07 am

Mythica was used to the scent of fear. If not from her own aura, the fear of the potential pain and toil she could inflict on others was an easy aroma to sense. Today seemed no different. The survivors all shook quietly, not daring to make a sound. However, as Mythica let the silence hang for another moment, one woman spoke out. Odd, so it seemed there was some courage yet left in this town of peasants. As Aristotle questioned Mythica her smile returned, and it quickly turned into a maniacal grin. "Exactly! That's what makes it fun! What's the point if there isn't some stakes..." She giggled. Without warning the monsters moved again! Their hulking forms running straight towards the villagers, forcefully grabbing their limbs and holding them still, completely and painfully restraining all of them.

Mythica walked forwards, extending her arm outwards before the shape of a long musket appeared within her palm in a yellow flash of magic! "Now then! Let's get started. I for one would love to introduce myself as your host! And... Well I'm sure you all have lovely names but we really don't have time to go around so let's roll!" She laughed, stopping just in front of Ari. She peered into the blonde's pink eyes with her own mismatched gaze for a moment before turning and walking down the line of villagers. Finally she stopped, her expression completely serious before she turned and faced a little girl. No older than 8, tears were streaming down the child's face as she shook in fear while looking at Mythica. A sinister smile returned to the woman's lip. "Well, I say the youngest should go first, right? Now little one the rules are simple." Mythica started, crouching down to her eye level. The girl whimpered and shut her eyes, turning her face away. "I'm going to ask you some questions about the people in this town... And if you answer them correctly you go free!" She said with a cheerful smile, her tone completely changing to mimic that of some sort of maternal figure. The girl stopped shaking slightly before opening her eyes to see Mythica's calm face, feeling slightly more at ease. However that soon changed as Mythica's aura turned dark once more. "But on the other hand, my pal here needs to eat. So if you answer them wrong, he'll just have to make do with you." She warned, the monster gripping the child growled lowly and her face turned to sheer terror.

"STOP Please leave her alone! She doesn't know anything!" A woman's voice cried out in the line. Mythica's devilish smile dropped into a slight frown as she turned in the direction of the disturbance. "What the- ... It isn't your turn yet!" Mythica griped, standing up and walking to the woman. Sweat streamed all over her body as she struggled in the monster's grip. It was obvious just by the way she looked, she was the girl's mother. "What do you think I'm not being serious?! HUH?!" She yelled, her tone getting more agitated. Without another word the woman found herself released from the monster's grip and thrown into the mud next to Mythica. "I've done this before! And I'll do it again!" The wizard yelled, raising her weapon before smashing the butt of the rifle straight into the woman's back as she tried to get up. It was with obvious force, sending the villager into the mud again. Mythica did not relent however, raising her weapon a second time, she cracked down even harder! She gave cries of pain but nothing halted Mythica's rage. Hitting her again and again all over her body, kicking and smashing for a good minute. Blood dripped from her mouth as she shivered in the dirt, red and bruised. Mythica was panting furiously as she continued to beat the woman senseless, her mouth and eyes widening with each hit until finally a loud crack was heard. "And." Crkk! "I'll." Snap! "Do." Crack! "It." ... "Again!" There was complete silence for a moment as Mythica finally stopped, her bright shirt and face now covered in splatters of blood as she stared at the woman's head, completely caved in. Her body unmoving, save a slight twitch. The time wizard was breathing very heavily before slowly standing up again, struggling to keep her balance as she leaned over to try and regain her breath. However, that grin never left her face. The little girl was completely traumatized, her face in shock as she stared at the remains of her mother's body. "More food for them, I suppose..." Mythica said through a breath. Now Mythica walked towards the line of villagers as they all looked on in horror to what Mythica had just done. She stopped in front of Ari again and held the bloodied end of the gun to her chin. "Shall we move on?"

Post by Aristotle 31st January 2021, 6:30 pm

Just how insane was this strange woman? the way she had commanded these creatures showed her capabilities were far beyond Aristotles. Not to mention that with the way the girl seemed to take such delight in the way the other villagers had acted brought some form of a sadistic delight to the golden eyed attacker. When she had answered Ari's question with the impression that she was practically an idiot for her not knowing why she had decided to do something like it, she laughed like this were all a game to her. Well, frankly it was a game to this person. But what was the purpose of it? Whatever it was, she seemed to take a little extra delight out of see the way Aristotle was reacting to it all.

The suspicion seemed to be either boasting arrogance or that it was something more like she was aiming for her to be a larger part of her game. However, when the strange, yet antique like gun appeared in her hand, the summoner wanted to stop her. Instead, the beasts she controlled had restrained each and every survivor before she came to approach the group left. She had begun to lay out the rules of this little game they were going to be playing and the way she had done it made her think that she was looking for something... or someone. Granted, the Napedian was not the only guest staying within the village and with several being among the group that was held down by these beasts currently.

As this 'host' as she called herself continued to march along the line of captives, she had paused before a little girl and declared her to be the first for this little game. Opening her mouth, ready to say that the girl had nothing to do with this, it seemed her own mother had survived the onslaught before being grouped with the others. She screamed out trying to defend her daughter and it... it didn't go over well at all. Moving from the little girl, a feeling of relief came over the blonde for a moment until she saw what was coming next. The woman didn't seem to take kindly to the simple motherly act and in a fit of rage cracked her in the head with the butt of her gun. What happened next was among the most traumatic, heinous thing she ever witnessed. The sounds alone made her regret ever putting in the device necessary to hear, The way the bones cracked and smashed.

And yet... she couldn't look away. The fear paralyzed her and the look on her face during it showed. She had been dead silent through it all, unable to find a word or even the first thought of what she was to do in a situation like this. Her attention didn't leave the mangled corpse until she caught the movement of the woman from the corner of her eye. When her head turned to face her, Aristotle looked down to the bloodied end of the gun, dripping blood slowly. A faint glow began to shine through the backpack on her back. The strange sensation of magic from it had caught the blonde's attention, but not taking her away from her gaze on the bloodied gun under her chin. "What- ...What do you want from us?" She managed to sputter out, finally looking up into the woman's mismatched gaze.

Whether or not that little display was going to make any of the remaining villagers keen on talking would remain to be seen. After all, none of them had any reason to not tell Mythica what she wanted to know, but that's not exactly the reason why she beat that poor woman to pulp. Her motives for most actions were likely a complete mystery, devoid of any real or important purpose other than to satisfy her sick urges and impulses. Mythica kept her regular grin as she witnessed the woman's terrified expression before she finally spoke, asking what the time wizard was after. When she opened her mouth Mythica's grin sunk and she turned cold once more. "D- Did you really just... Ask me that?" She said with a venomous tone, her eyes narrowing slightly. Mythica continued to stare at her for a moment before the beast restraining Aristotle shoved her forwards and into the dirt next to Mythica! "ARE YOU BLIND OR DEAF?! DID YOU NOT SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAST PERSON WHO SPOKE OUT OF TURN? I'M THE ONE ASKING THE QUESTIONS HERE YOU PRESUMPTIOUS PESANT!" She yelled with pure malice. If Ari tried to stand, she'd feel some sort of invisible force keeping her on the ground. Mythica crouched down and observed her more closely, the flaming village around them casting a shadow upon her blood splattered face. Without warning she grabbed the woman's hair and pulled it painfully to force her head upwards, staring directly at the mangled corpse Mythica had just beaten to death. "THIS IS WHAT IMPATIENCE GETS YOU!" She growled, letting go and dropping her head into the mud.

Mythica stood up straight again and sighed, turning to face the line of villagers while Ari was still kept in place via some sort of magical weight. She put her fingers to her temple with frustration. "See, I try to be nice. Keep everything going in a nice and orderly fashion, but we always have THOSE people that try and RUIN it! It makes me sick that people like you exist..." She grimaced. However as Mythica's emotions rose she felt something odd. A very familiar magic power. She instantly turned to face Ari again, noticing something glowing in her back pack. "But to answer your question from before..." Mythica started, walking over and crouching next to her once more, opening her backpack with curious eyes. And there it was... That dreaded black box. The very site of it was enough to make Mythica's expression contort into pure rage as she thought about it. The item sealed by some sort of ancient magic that even she could not figure out a way to break. Normally Mythica would find such an item interesting and want to study it more closely. If only this thing didn't contain a piece of her inside it. "You." She said, picking up the item and standing straight once more. "This... This is all I wanted! See? Was that so hard? Wow, you guys made me destroy a whole village over this, PATHETIC!" She exclaimed, her maniacal grin returning. With Mythica having what she wanted Ari would feel the crushing invisible force keeping her on the ground lift suddenly, and she was free to move however she wanted.

"Of course... I still need the key." The time wizard stated rather darkly, turning to face the girl. "And it seems you're right here."

The way her expression changed once again was more terrifying than having watched her bash that poor woman’s skull in. The cold way she asked her if she was being serious had come to bring a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach from it. What was she after? She never once said what it was, but she’d albeit torn the village apart looking for it. Why would she not want it mentioned? Suddenly, the woman snapped. Screaming at the blonde, she couldn’t help but smirk hearing the question. Well, technically yes, Aristotle was deaf and if not for the pair of mechanical like cat ears on her head, she would surely be forced to say it for sure. Instead, she straightened her expression out before being thrown to the ground by the beasts. ”W-Wait, am I about to be next!?” She wondered to herself as the gravity of her question seemed to be the force of her own death at this rate.

The enraged woman gripped up Ari by the hair with such force that it caused her to scream out in pain. And just like that, she was let go and dropped to the ground wheee she continued to lay. Unable to get up despite her own attempts, the application of the woman’s magic seemed to only brighten the glow of the item in her bag. One in which the deranged host had begun to dig through until she pulled it out. The Napedian woman tried to pick her head up enough to see the item in which she was talking about, only to see that it was the box she’d come to Fiore with! Why was that box so important to her? Nobody in her family ever knew what was in the box, but she was willing to destroy entire villages, murder countless lives... and for what!? A box she couldn’t open!? Even as the thoughts raced in her head about it, she seems inclined to have known it wouldn’t be opened by anyone. Then why go after it if you couldn’t open it either?

That was when the words came from her mouth... the key... was Aristotle? Why her? A box that was in her family for generation after generation, unable to be opened by any of them either was now suddenly placed on her hands? ”Menteuse! That box is impossible to open!! Vat makes you think I am this key you need!?” She yelled back, so riled up in a conundrum of emotions so much so that she hadn’t noticed her accent had come, the minstrelois tongue slipping in simply out of distress. ”If that’s all you want, take it and leave this place! Otherwise, foutre Le camp.”

For some unknown kind of sadistic pleasure the soul merchant loved to draw these types of situations out. Be it her own desire for darkness or the overwhelming amount of confidence she had for herself, Mythica's motives were hardly explainable. When the woman still had the courage to speak out against her, Mythica's grin grew wider and she burst into a fit of laughter! "HA! LIAR!? No my sweet girl, I never lie..." She told her with a threatening gaze "The fact that you would think to call me that... Ohoho it makes me so ANGRY! HA!" Mythica laughed, lifting a foot up and kicking Ari hard across the face! Her words stating one emotion but her attitude conveyed the opposite. It was truly impossible to determine what the time wizard was thinking.

"Should we trust your cursed ancestors now, girl?" She gleamed, that invisible force returning once more and forcing Aristotle upwards. As if her body had a mind of its own it stood straight up and extended her arm towards Mythica, opening her hand to the girl. "You see, there's no need to be so hostile..." Mythica said, starting to quiet her voice into a whisper as she walked closer to the deaf woman. Mythica circled her very closely, her voice carried by an aura of fear. "I'm only here to regain what was stolen from me. Something your family tried for so long to keep from me..." She grinned. Suddenly Mythica's form vanished from site before her eyes! However she felt her breath on her neck as Mythica's voice whispered right behind her. "But now I have it... And you're the only one in my way." She taunted with a giggle.

THIEVES! THE LOT OF THEM! THEY STOLE IT FROM ME AND TRIED TO RUN! PUTTING SOME WRETCHED SPELL ON THIS BOX TO PREVENT THEIR NIGHTMARE FROM ESCAPING!" Mythica continued to rant, circling in front of Ari again, between her and the line of villagers. "The audacity! NNNGHHH IT JUST MAKES ME WANT TOO..." She trailed off, her eyes blazing with rage before without warning Mythica whipped her body around and aimed her rifle at a random villager, firing a bolt of magic energy that instantly shattered their chest! "S- Sorry.. I just.. AUGHHh! It makes me so mad, y'know? You make a DEAL with someone and they decide to TREAT YOU LIKE THIS?!" She continued to rant as the villager's body fell and was dragged away almost instantly by the beasts, the sound of them feasting on his corpse echoing among the burning street. She extended her arms upwards, motioning to the village around them. "Y'SEE ALL OF THIS?! THIS IS THEIR FAULT! YOU ONLY HAVE YOUR FAMILY TO BLAME FOR THIS MISSY! IF THEY HAD JUST LISTENED TO ME MAYBE YOU COULD HAVE LIVED..."

Mythica's anger cooled for a moment and soon another item appeared within her other hand. A small but rather cruel looking dagger. "This is just part of the deal... Me getting what I'm owed..." She growled, painfully gripping Aristotle's hand. With one very slow, and extremely painful motion Mythica dragged the knife across her palm, blood streaming out of it. "Just learn to relax... The pain will be over soon." Mythica said through a mutter as she gazed upon the dark red liquid dripping from the blade's edge. After Mythica was finished Ari's body became her own once more, the invisible grip being released once more. Holding the box in the other hand she allowed the dagger to drip onto its black surface. Nothing happened for a moment until finally an eerie glow began to appear from within.

The way that this woman had reacted drew an angry gaze. Gritting her teeth from the way she had begun to act when it shifted in the blink of an eye from a small fit of maniacal laughter into lashing out. With a sudden and swift crack of her foot across Aristotle’s face face no emotional cry. Her body could not move even from that, only her head rocking back and forth from the impact and pure momentum of the kick. A few droplets of blood landed nearby and the blonde even coughed a little before spitting out some onto the woman’s dress, though she honestly didn’t intend to do so. Simply lashing out against her like this wasn’t above something she expected at this point. If anything, it showed just how much of a lunatic this “host” truly was. She began to bring her ancestors into the mix of things. For whatever reason that may have been, it seemed odd to her that she be making a comparison like that to her, but here she was.

Her body was still wracked with fear from what was to come to. ”What... what are you talking about?” She questioned, trying to look up to her. Suddenly, her body began to move on its own almost. Getting up onto her feet, she was showing a look of fear on her face from how her body was reacting of someone else’s accord aside from her own. That didn’t seem to be all. The multi eye colored woman had vanished from sight suddenly. Then, her voice carried in a whisper as though the wind carried it from afar just into her ear. The way she made it sound had made her think that she was truly going to have to kill Aristotle in order to get what she wanted. Her heart was racing from the moment that voice touched her ear, trying to look around only to find she had no control.

Her eyes followed the insane woman as began to pace around the surviving group, ranting and raving about how they stole something from her and the way she reacted. In a seething like rage, the woman turned her gun onto a random villager and fired it into their chest. ”Stop this! Y-You have me, just let them go!” She cried out, watching as their body was dragged off and begun to be feasted upon just like all the rest. ”What kind of deal could they have made that would make anyone do something like this!? I demand you tell me!” She shouted, the look in her eyes showing that she not only was afraid of what was to come, but that her ignorance of the whole situation was apparent. But it wasn’t long after that, that Ari watched the other woman approach her and take her by the hand with extreme force. Then, the feeling of a sharp blade drug across her blade. She winced and her body tensed up from the sensation, however past experiences showed she didn’t really wasn’t as inexperienced in this type of pain than she’d let on to believe.

Once the knife finished running along her palm, the pressure over her body felt lifted from her. She dropped to her knees, her other hand held in her now injured hand. Even if this woman got what she wanted, who was to say she would end up living anyway? What would stop her from killing anyone else? But she wondered what this woman’s plan was. Using some of the blood on the box as though that were the key seemed to be what she thought. The box was not a stranger to having blood on it in some fashion. Her mother was obsessed with the box enough to try it several times. But, the box began to glow. In a strange fashion, she had watched it act like so, but the box’s glow would soon fade. Then the thought hit her. Maybe she had to be the one to open it. This could be used to her advantage. ”Make me a deal. I will open this box, but you let the others live. Otherwise you may as well kill me now and I’m sure you’ll never get it.”

As the situation continued to develop, Mythica learned more and more about how clueless this woman seemed to be about the entirety of the event. Strange, but no less interesting for Mythica that her relatives decided to keep it a secret from her. For what purpose? To protect her? Evidently not, as it didn't seem to matter. Mythica was here, and she had found what she was looking for. Perhaps if Aristotle had known the true crimes of her family this whole thing could have been avoided, though that didn't seem like it would be an option anymore. Not that Mythica cared much either way, the fact of the matter was that she was here, and so was Aristotle. The last piece to this infuriating puzzle Mythica had been struggling to solve for untold amount of time now. It was finally within her grasp, and she wasn't going to let anyone take it away from her. Not even this woman who seemed to have the courage to continue to defy lady twilight.

"W- What? You mean you don't know?! AHAHAHAHA! THIS IS RICH!" Mythica responded to Aristotle's initial question, letting out a genuine laugh in the process that made all the survivors flinch in fear, not knowing what Mythica was going to do next. "Can you guys believe it? I can't! But something is telling me this is the truth..." She grinned, looking at the woman who had fallen to her knees. "Ignorance is bliss, isn't it? That is until the mistakes of your ancestors come back to haunt you. Of course, as annoying as it was I can't really blame them. Why worry about the lives of your descendants when they have nothing to do with yours?" Mythica continued to chuckle.

When the girl started to make demands Mythica simply sighed as she continued to watch the box glow. "I'd love to regale you with all the thrilling details of how your family royally screwed me over, though you're going to be dead soon anyways so there's not much point, is there?" She giggled. When Ari tried to strike a deal with her Mythica's eyes narrowed and she grew angry once more. "NnnO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" She exploded, turning to stare at her with a fury in her eyes. "The last time I made a deal with your ilk it landed us in this position! I would not trust a word that pours out of that mouth!" She growled. "Besides, you already gave me what I needed..." Mythica got quieter, turning to face the box once more. Soon its glow grew brighter and suddenly a loud clicking sound echoed around the street. Mythica's smile grew wide and finally, the box was opened...

What was she going on about? Seeming to be extremely amused by Aristotle’s questioning of her family’s past decisions was something that had made her rather strange. But she didn’t move, continuing to ramble on while Aristotle had begun to focus on trying to stop the bleeding in her hand. Still, every word reached her ears and it made her regret doing it. To keep herself from using this thing anymore if she had to put up with such an insufferable pain in the ass. The blonde silently listened on as she continued to ramble about how her ancestors had essentially put this all into motion. But what did she know of her last family? Even her mother didn’t tell her much from it outside of that the seal of her magic was passed down for generations at the cost of potentially costing them their lives for not doing so. The way she was twisting it had her beginning to think this to have been much more selfishly motivated than anything, but if they were anything like her mother... maybe she was right.

The one thing that stuck out to her was that somehow her family got a last word in on her, which meant whatever was in that box she carried had been something that important to her. What it could have been was beyond her, however Aristotle decided if today was the day she died, she may as well try and fight doing so. Getting up off of her knees, she still clutched her bleeding hand and looked at the box that was now just cracked open. While the host had seemed to be extremely adamant about not trusting a single word Ari had said, she had not made a single word now. Something about the contents of this box was a compelling thought that she’d not seen to be anything shy of a long stemmed curiosity. What drove her mother and possibly her other family members so insane as to try and figure out what was inside this box? And more so what would drive someone to need to murder entire town populations to achieve the task?

As the deranged woman opened the box, it had flashed a bright light, causing the blonde to wince from the surprising flash of light. If Mythica would reach for the contents, a harsh spark of lightning would prevent the attempted taking. However, the object would rise up from the box, revealing it to be what would appear to be the shape of a piece of a clock. In a flash, it shot its way toward the Napedian. A piercing, brutally painful feeling struck her left eye suddenly. A horrid shrieking sound echoed from her mouth and into the air before falling to the ground. With her uninjured hand now forcefully gripped over her eye, a light emanated from within it. The pain quickly died down, her breath shuddering from the reeling pain just a moment ago. Moving her hand away, a similar looking glowing eye much like Mythica’s own had shown up in her gaze and after a few seconds dimmed out to show her former eye color.

Whatever it was in that box had now infused itself within her eye. But what it was or did, she still had no ideas.
