Last time Little Arcadia had a dream from her foster mother, Khione Glacier, like she did last night, she found an ancient tome that greatly expanded her magical repertoire. This time she did not wake up with a strange boon in hand. Instead she had awoken more mystified with a strong feeling, that if true would greatly sadden her. It couldn't be true though... could it?

The very thing she'd trained her whole life to do being a bane to some of the closest family she had found since awakening in present day Fiore. Arcadia wasn't sure, but small hints here there lead her to believe cold wasn't the best thing Nessa could be exposed to. Nessa had never said so exactly, but Arcadia had bad feeling about it just the same.

As a third generation ice dragon slayer, and potential bringer of Eternal Winter, she was pretty much all about cold. Having even her most beneficial magics hurting her big sister was not an concept she could accept. If true, there had to be some way around it. Had to be. The most confusing part of her dream, the end, lead her to believe Khione Glacier already knew of a way. Whatever this dream meant, she'd need Nessa's help and possibly her Valkyries to help . This dream was so clear and vivid, there was no way it was not some message from her mother.

She got dressed and ate breakfast earlier than usual that morning, leaving Fairy Hills to find her mentor and teammate. On the steps of Fairy Hills though, she figured it would help to write up the details of the dream, while it was fresh in her mind. She was sure she wouldn't forget a dream like this, but she wanted to make sure. Not even waiting until she go across the street, she had a seat on the stairs.

Pulling her sky blue iLac from its specially sewn pocket, Little Arcadia pulled up her notes app. She made a new document, and began to type up what she could remember of the dream.  In her dream, a messenger had come to Fairy Hills with a letter announcing that her mother, Khione Glacier, had come for a visit. The message held a little postscript to make sure Nessa wore a jacket because it would be chilly out.  Arcadia left without delay, though the sun was going down fast. In a sense of dream logic that simply accept whatever happens into the dream's story, she couldn't but hope Nessa had heard her mother's warning in the letter. It'd be awful if  big sister caught the chills. Along her way to Southgate Park, the stars sparkle extra clear and bright as the sun went down.

Reaching Southgate Park, she greeted by her mother almost immediately. The great dragoness of living ice greeted her foster daughter with a gentle nuzzle, and did say a thing. She simply lowered her shoulders, and Arcadia knew her mom wanted her to climb on up for a ride. Arcadia could not help but notice how much colder the air got, the higher her mom flew.

Glancing toward the glittering night sky, she noticed how much closer it was getting, and if the little slayer was not mistaken, Nessa was up there as one of the constellations. The Valkyries were too. It looked like they were waiting for her. When her mother had flown close enough, she felt like she could almost reach out and touch the stars. The constellation of Valkyries and her mother all pointed to the way to the brightest, glittering star Arcadia had ever seen.  Khione Glacier then whispered only words of the whole dream,  “Odin's Silver Star.”

Of course the dream had to end right there. Reading over what she had typed up on her iLac, the pale blonde slayer had to wonder if the dead could ever come right out and say exactly what they meant or if this was some metaphysical law of the universe that always so... mysterious. From her rank exam on Tenroujima to the two dreams from her mother, mysterious was about the one word that most politely described it.

Slipping her iLac back into her dress pocket, Little Arcadia stood and dusted herself off. She headed across the street to try looking for Nessa in the guild hall first, even though the sun was barely up.

Nessa was lying in bed staring at the white ceiling of her room, a little confused. For one she was wide awake, and it was barely past dawn. She looked over at the clock on her wall, and frowned, What is going on? She had always been an early riser, but this was bizarre. She usually got up at like eight or nine, sometimes she would even indulge in a lay in until ten. But it's was half five in the morning and the orange light was slowly seeping in through the cracks between her violet curtains. She couldn't remember what she'd been dreaming of either, only that she needed to get up but she didn't know why. She pushed herself up, the sheets falling over of her.

It was a little crisp right now, but she didn't feel like staying in the warmth of her bed. She climbed out, leaving a sleeping Sebastian and Arielle snoozing at the foot of it. She glanced at them, deciding not to wake them, before leaving the room, silently sneaking through the house she headed towards the family bathroom. It was a nice sized bathroom, fitting with white and blue marble, a nautical theme chosen by her aunt. Little anchor ornaments and seashells dotted around. She headed over to the sink and began brushing her teeth. Glancing over, she didn't have anything planned for today, she could easily stay at home and enjoy some well-deserved time off.

Becoming an Ace meant taking up a lot of additional duties around the guild, mainly paperwork, working out budgets and inventory. Plus still trying to fit in a job here and there to contribute to the guild, plus there was her trying to fit in time to get to know all the new members. There had been a bit of an influx of joiners lately, and she wanted to do her best to ensure they stuck around. But it was all a lot, she should take it easy once in a while, Right?

She slipped out of her dark red Pyjama's and climbed into the shower, turning on the water, she stepped back as the water began to spurt out. Adjusting the temperature and waiting for it to warm up, she slid underneath, enjoying the feel of the warm water against the skin. Running her hands through her hair, she couldn't help but feel a sense of restlessness. Like an itching to get a move on, But Why? She couldn't understand it. She proceeded to wash completely before climbing out. Going about her usual morning routine, brushing her teeth, using her magic to dry herself, combing her hair and tying it up. She had dressed in a white blouse and some slightly faded pale jeans. She grabbed her handbag and an apple from the fruit baskets and headed out into the streets. Locking the door behind her and leaving her snoozing family unaware, although they would presume she had just headed off early.

The sunrise had become a little more embellished since she had woken up, although it was clearly still very early. The streets were quiet and the people up were seldom. Mostly shop-owners wanted to get some prep-work in or the occasional jogger. Nessa wasn't out to explore or wander, she was on her way to the guild. Her trainers pacing the pavement quickly, it wasn't long before she could see the Guildhall in the distance. She could only assume the place was going to be empty, save maybe the few staff doing a bit of food-prep for the usual orders that would be later coming in, stocking up on the juice and ice so they could make slushies at a moments notice. She reached the glass doors, immediately noticing the blonde figure inside. She frowned, pushing the door open, before addressing the girl looking around the guild.

"Arcadia?" She said in a surprised tone, wondering why her fellow Ace and closest friend was also here so early. She shut the door behind her and stepped inside, "Is everything okay?" She asked, not sure why but she couldn't shake the weird feeling. Did the reason she had felt the sudden urge to head to the guild have something to do with Arcadia? Or was it just a bizarre coincidence?

Arcadia fought off a yawn and rubbed her eyes. The young slayer partly wished to have stayed in bed, but there was no way she would've gotten back to sleep. Seeing the bar staff just getting things ready, and the fairies tidying up the reception desk, her heart sank a little more. She didn't know why she thought Nessa would be in this early. It was still better to look here first, than to get all the way to big sister's house and find out she just across the street all along. Arcadia decided the easiest thing to do would be to go ask the fairies or the bar staff to see if they'd seen Nessa around yet.  Anything to avoid those elevators, and their stomach churning ride.

Before she could head over to either the bar or reception desk, she heard the door open behind her, and she picked up the very scent she had been looking for. She turned around excitedly, and dashed forward a few steps toward Nessa, ”Big sister!” Little Arcadia meant to hug Nessa, but  she held up with the notions fresh from last night's rather vivid dream came back to mind. Her big, faerie green eyes teared up, but she held back from bawling. Seeing the older girl, she suddenly knew her worst feared notions had to be true, a heavy sense of guilt weighing in on her young heart for any harm she had inadvertently caused her big sister.

Making doubly sure none of her wintry magics were active, Little Arcadia resumed her rush to hug Nessa about the waist. That being about as tall as she was for now. Arcadia fought off a sob or two, ”I'm so sorry, Nessa. It's true isn't it. My magics is not good for you.  I just wanted to help. But that wasn't ever helping. Unless I kept my magics far enough away.”

She took a step back and dried her faerie green eyes. Looking up at Nessa, she continued,  ”I got the feeling in a dream.... last night. But it can't be true. It can't be true that the best way to help my big sister is not to. It can't be!”

A sense and look of determination settled in, displacing the previous guilted anguish. The littlest slayer began to pace back and forth, ”There hasta be way around that. I refuse to believe I can't find one. But... but maybe that's why my mom came to me in that dream. She... already knows where to find a way. Or who would.”

Wiping her eyes one more time, she glanced back up at Nessa, ”Big sister. I know this is gonna sound crazy, but the last time my mother came to me in a dream, I ended up finding the ancient tome that had her lacrima hidden inside it. So I know she's telling me something important. I think I'm going to need your help... so that I can help you without...doing more bad than good. That hasta be why she was pointing me to you and the Valkyries and something about Odin's Silver Star. Here.”

Arcadia dug her iLac out of its pocket, and opened up where she had written down everything about her dream. She offered it up to Nessa for reading, ”I wrote it down in my iLac, if  that helps all this make more sense.”

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 26th November 2018, 11:01 am

Nessa smiled at the sight of her beloved friend Arcadia, pleased to see her. However when the Ice Dragon Slayer's face dropped, Nessa immediately felt the sense of something was wrong. Seeing her friend look like she was going to cry, "Arcadia, what's wrong?" She asked as her the small girl hugged her, Nessa reached down and squeezed her back. Feeling worry seep in, she hated seeing Arcadia so upset. When Arcadia began to apologise for her magic causing trouble for Nessa, she sighed with relief, having believed that it would be much worse. She stood back, shaking her head and putting her hands on her hips.

"Don't be ridiculous Arcadia, you have been an amazing help to me. So what if I'm weak to Ice Magic, every magical user has a weakness, it comes with the territory. Heck, Sebastian uses Ice magic too, we just learned to work in a way so it doesn't interfere with my magic. We just need to do the same as members of Radiant Light, we just need to work together to overcome are struggles. Plus when you think about it, my weakness is your strength, doesn't that make us the perfect team when facing foes?" She explained, hoping that her words would reassure the girl. She couldn't believe she was so upset over such a small thing, but still it was see. A clear reflection of how good a friend Arcadia truly was.

Nessa listened as Arcadia expressed the belief that there must be a means of getting round it, taking in her story about her dream and what she thought it meant. Nessa had never experienced a prophetic dream before, but she did believe in divination. As mages, it was a magic they could all potentiall tap into. At least thats what she had learned from her Aunty. The more Arcadia explained, the more likely it seemed, talking about the Valkyries and Odin's Silver Star. Nessa nodded, "I believe you." She told the girl, although some may find the idea of the girls deceased mother was attempting to communicate to her through dreams preposterous. Nessa trusted Arcadia's to know she wouldn't tell Nessa if she didn't genuinely believe it. Plus there was that strange sense of urgency she had felt. Maybe this was the reason she had so desperately wanted to come to the Guild this morning. She took the iLac and skimmed through the notes once she read them, she looked up at Arcadia with a serious expression,

"Let's head to Valhalla, we can ask the girls directly if they know more about this. It's our best lead, honestly I don't mind the Ice Magic, but if your mother is trying to reach out to you, then the best thing we can do is follow the signs she's given you." Nessa reached out her hand to her right, her eyes began to glow white, and the Norse Symbol on the back of her neck began to glow. She had gotten so accustomed to summoning the Portal now that it was second nature to her these days. She could definately feel the different in it's difficulty.

The air began to ripple and within moments the Portal appeared next to them. Without any hesitation, she stepped through the portal. Appearing on the familiar pathway to Odin's Hall. She waited a moment for Arcadia to arrive before heading along the path. Maybe this was a fools errand, maybe it was just a dream. But whatever it was, they would soon find out.

Post by SeaGlass 27th November 2018, 3:53 am

Little Arcadia dried her faerie green gaze on the back of one small hand. At first she thought Nessa was just being kind in dismissing the trouble the little slayer's ice magic could give her. Big sister was the kindest soul she knew, of course she'd downplay how much trouble the cold was. She smiled, appreciating Nessa's reassurances.

The pale blonde slayer's heart could not help being troubled still. ”Are you sure you're not just saying that? 'Cuz yer like the best big sister, and that's what any big sister would do. And Sebby knows how to use his ice magic, while crowded next to you. What happens if we get pinned down or surrounded? Fighting in such close quarters, Dragon Force can make a big difference, but keeping the aura that comes with it away, can be tricky. And I know you dun need the few support spells I know, I hope I'm as strong as you are some day... but I know I'd sleep better knowing I could use them... if it got that bad. I hope it never gets that bad in a fight.”

She smiled again, knowing Nessa believed her was something of a relief. Arcadia wasn't completely sure she believed it herself, but she had absorbed a lacrima gifted from the past that made it hard to consider otherwise. The little slayer watched in awe to see Nessa open the otherworldly portal again. The spectacle she had witnessed a few times now, still sent wonder through her heart. She assumed it that just a bit of Valhalla and the power it contained pouring through opening. Arcadia scampered after Nessa into the portal.

Having taken her iLac back,s he poured over her notes, considering how she would tell the Valkyries about this dream. Considering their fascination with her iLac before, and their unfamiliarity with such mortal things it might be distracting to let them read from it. She stowed her iLac back in her dress pocket. Another puppet show would be easiest, so she began running over a little presentation to give in her head. Arcadia really hoped the Valkyries didn't think she was crazy. If they didn't know, then Arcadia didn't know what else she could do.

Sure she could muddle through any future fights, and hope she never messed up too badly. That wouldn't tell her why Khione Glacier would give her such a visit though. No, the Valkyries had to have an answer. Yet what did they know about stars? The sun never went down or rose in Vahalla.

The little slayer paused then for a moment from following Nessa toward Odin's Hall. She was so preoccupied, she had almost forgotten about the surreal beauty of Valhalla. She briefly puzzled how to tell which direction was which without cues like the sun moving across the sky or the stars at night. With her nose, she didn't always need a compass to find where she needed to go, but that didn't work all the time. Such thoughts faded away as she noted the Hall drawing near. Her mind returned to her fears, and what she should say. Arcadia stood a little behind Nessa, her voice softening in the way it did when she first joined Fairy Tail, ”Do you think they'll believe me too?”

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 28th November 2018, 3:29 pm

Nessa's was pleased to see Arcadia's tears come to a halt; fortunately, her response had seemed to have a bit of a calming effect on the girl. That was good, Nessa didn't like seeing her friend so upset, especially about something that essentially wasn't her fault. If anything it was Nessa's for not being more resistance to ice magic, but that wasn't worth thinking about right now. Right now they had a task at hand, "Well Sebastian's Ice Magic comes from his breath so as long as he's in front of me when he uses it, I remained unaffected. I suppose your right though, that won't work with your Dragon Force, and I can't expect you to hold yourself back on my account." She replied, pausing in thought.

As they made their way along the path of Valhalla, Nessa glanced up at the sky, wondering about Arcadia's dream. The Silver Star of Odin, was that something that existed, would they find it Valhalla? Or was this a dead end? It wouldn't be long before they received the answer to such questions. The hall soon came into view. Nessa Nessa delighted in the sight of it, it was started to almost feel like another safe haven for her. A familiar space where she could go and be with people she cared about. She glanced over at Arcadia with a warm smile, "Yeah, I've got a weird feeling about this, but good weird, I think," She didn't know what, maybe it was just a hunch, but it felt like they were moving in the right direction. As they arrived at the great white doors of Odin's Hall, Nessa knocked. Almost too quickly, the door was yanked open, and standing there was Ellamora, The leader of the Valkyries.  Ellamora hadn't been present when Arcadia had lasted visited Valhalla, at the time she had been busy on a mission with Scythen at the time. Nessa never actually found out what they had been doing but she had a suspicious feeling it had something to do with Hakon. The Valkyrie was standing there in her full set of armour. Her beautiful face covered by her golden horned mask, her bright blonde hair spilling out of the sides. The Starlight Valkyrie was an imposing as ever as she looked down on the two smaller girls with a small smile. "Welcome, we've been expecting you." She said before pushing open the door to allow them to walk past.

"Er...hi Ellamora, um, this is my good friend Arcadia. You were expecting us?" Nessa asked in a confused tone, Ellamora offered Arcadia a slight bow of her head, before returning her gaze to Nessa. "There has been an interesting shift in the skies, I feel our father is telling us something. I had a feeling you would be paying us a visit, Nessa Lux." She replied, before closing the door behind them. Nessa lead Arcadia to the table, where the remaining Valkyries were all sat in their respective thrones. Including Scythen, who was eying Arcadia with a cool intrigued. "Well, I mean, there is a reason we came," She said turning to Arcadia, she gave the little Dragon Slayer a nudge forward, "Arcadia here had a dream, we think it has something to do with Valhalla." Nessa said. There was a scoff along the table from Agatha, Ellamora shot her a look before glancing back to Arcadia. "Please Arcadia, tell us of this dream." She asked softly.

☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆ Empty Re: ☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆

Post by SeaGlass 1st December 2018, 4:56 am

The littlest dragon slayer froze, not in any literal sense or because of her magic, but in fear. She really didn't want to mess this up, and in turn mess up the first impression she'd be making on Ellamora and Scythen. Arcadia didn't want to keep them waiting either, so she focused on Nessa and the faces of the Valkyries she already knew. The table seemed so much bigger than she remembered. She approached Tiphanae and her throne, the little slayer bowing, and speaking softly, "Excuse me."

Climbing up the side of Tiphanae's throne, Arcadia made her way up until she was high enough to stretch out toward the table. This was not the impression she wanted to make as she clumsily clambered over, freezing her hands and feet to the tabletop and table's edge to get a grip where there wasn't one otherwise. She ended up crawling on her belly to finish the climb over from Tiphanae's throne. Arcadia slowly stood up on the table, smoothing down her dress.

She strode toward the middle of the table, stopping shy of the exact center. As she was preparing to conjure icy mists to shape, a portion of the dream she'd forgotten came back to her. Arcadia was silent a moment longer, briefly piecing it in mentally with what she'd written on her iLac. The young pale, blonde slayer seated herself cross-legged down on the table top. In another moment, she conjured a sizable bank of icy mist over the table's center, so all could see. "It'll be easier to show you."

Tiny ice crystals hung suspended in the mist above the table, glittering in the light. Arcadia concentrated on showing her dream, the crystals aligned themselves to reflect and refract the light around it into an image, visible from all sides, floating over the table.

The scene was Fairy Hills lobby, about sunset since the windows were filled with dimming golden light. Arcadia narrated the silent moving images as she played them back, "My dream started out normally enough. I was at Fairy Hills, the guild dormitory I live in. A messenger brought me a letter, saying my mom would be at the park for a visit, and that I should make sure Nessa wore a jacket because it'd be chilly out. On the way to the park, I had the feeling of how cold it was."

In the floating image above the table, the messenger came into view and handed Arcadia the letter. Arcadia made sure to show what the letter said, before the Arcadia in her floating image hurried on her way toward Southgate Park. In the image, she stopped and shivered.

Arcadia glanced around the table as she continued narrating, "There's one part I forgot to tell Nessa about, 'cuz I just remembered it now. In my dream, on my way to the park, I felt like something was following me... chasing me there. And despite being chased, for some reason, I hoped Nessa had heard my mother's warning to bring a jacket from the letter. That part made more sense while I was dreaming. Anyway, I raced to stay ahead of whatever was chasing me. Even then, I noticed how bright and sparkly the stars seemed once the sun had gone down."

In the floating image above the table, the sun set and the star came out extra sparkling while Arcadia raced for her life to Southgate Park. "Whatever was chasing me gave up when I got to the park. I knew I was safe because that's where my mother greeted me. The weird thing is, she didn't really say anything. She just had me climb up on her back."

The Arcadia in the floating image slowed down and looked happy and relieved to see the great dragoness of living ice at the park. The great ice dragon smiled down to her daughter, giving a gentle nuzzle, and lowering herself so Arcadia could climb up. Khione Glacier took off, taking Arcadia toward the stars.

Little Arcadia still seated on the tabletop looked at each of the Valkyries and Nessa in turn, "I couldn't help but notice how much colder it got, the higher we went. It was all this cold in the dream that made me realize how dangerous my magic could be to you, big sister. Or it made me think back over suspicions I had, and the fact it was in a dream my mom gave me confirmed it to me." The young slayer got a little teary again going back over that realization, but she moved her narration along.

The image showed the two getting quite close to the stars, so close it looked like the Arcadia riding Khione Glacier's back could have just reached up and touched them. The view in the image shifted to show Khione Glacier pointing to Nessa and the Valkyries in constellation form, and they and Arcadia's mom ended up all pointing to the brightest star in the sky. "When we go so close to the stars, I could almost touch them, I saw you, all of you, even you big sister, up in the stars all pointing to one very bright one. That's when my mom said the only thing she said in the whole dream, 'Odin's Silver Star.' And sadly that's when I woke up."

Arcadia dismissed her little mist created show, but another took its place, stomping out the dissipating mists. A great and supernaturally powerful dark wolf, Fenrir himself, but scaled down in size to fit on the table. His hateful yellow eyes bore down on the little slayer below him. "So you're the one. Not even you're runty size can hide it from me. Come show us.. show me the real you, little ice wyrm. I want to see the face of my liberator. The one who will bring on the Great Winter foretold to signal the beginning of Ragnorok, when I'll finally be truly free."

Fear shone on Little Arcadia's face, she squeaked, "This isn't me. I'm not casting anything now. And... and what do you mean, I'll never start any kinda winter for you or anyone, even if I could!"

Arcadia's rising anger easily shunted out any fear, and she shifted immediately into the draft horse sized ice wyrmling she could, bringing a gentle indoor snowfall. She crouched down and growled, ready to pounce and stamp out the image of Fenrir. Arcadia never pounced though, her fierce faerie green eyes turning the same angry golden yellow as Fenrir. The large wolf darkly growl-chuckled, "Not even the All-Father can change Fate, but I suspect he thinks he can stop me from speeding it up. That's the real reason you're here isn-"

Fenrir's image disappeared as Odin's protective power grew in the walls of his hall, and Arcadia's eyes returned to their nominal faerie green. The ice wyrmling melted back into a teary little human girl slumped down on knees on the large table. The indoor snowfall ceasing when she does. "He hasta be the thing chasing me in my dream. That feeling of him in my head... that's what I was running from. P-please. h-help me find that silver star... my mom was talking about. If it keeps him out my head or lets me help my big sister without hurting her... I havta find it. I swear I don't want to start a winter anything."

☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆ Empty Re: ☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 3rd December 2018, 4:14 pm

Nessa was pleased to see that the Valkyries did not mock nor challenged Arcadia as she made her way to the centre of the table to tell her story. She knew there had been a possibility that a non-sensical dream would fall on deaf ears, but it seemed the Valkyries were accepting of this scenario. They listened patiently, watching the scene unfold in front of them. Even Agatha became transfixed in the tale; perhaps like Nessa, they too got the sense of importance that Nessa felt. Nessa watched as Arcadia's figure made her way to the park in her dream, getting the sense of something dark and ominous following her. Nessa wanted to pluck the shadow figure up and protect her, but she knew it was all the illusion of a dream. There wasn't like there was something really after her.

At the mention of Odin's Silver Star, the Valkyries exchanged curious looked. Ellamora straightened up a little, her face giving nothing away, but the slight sense of realisation. She said nothing but allowed the young girl to continue without interruption. The story seemed to reach its end, when a dark wolf appeared, large and menacing, with thick black fur and long, deadly fangs. Nessa stepped back in fear; she got the immediate sense of overwhelming power. Elgorea and Arcturus gasped, while Agatha and Tiphanae pulled out their swords at the sight of the dark creature. Ellamora raised her hand sharply, a signal to tell the girls to wait as they watched the interaction between Arcadia and the wolf. As the vision faded, Nessa hoped up onto the table, running over to Arcadia and placing on the Wyrmling's shoulder. "Arcadia are you okay?" She glanced at Ellamora, the woman had a weird look in her eye, almost as though she had seen a ghost.

With her free hand, Agatha grabbed a knife and drove it down hard into the table, causing the wood to split each way for several inches. "What is the meaning of this? Fenrir should be sealed in the depths of Valhalla's abyss, how was he present in the dream of a mortal."  She called out angrily, looking ready to slice through anyone who gave her a disappointing answer. Elgorea shook her head, her face a picture of denial.

"How do we know it's even him, It could be a beast of a similar nature." The red-headed demon Valkyrie responded, but Scythen shook her head, her blue hair waving from the action.

"No, that was unmistakably Fenrir, I'm certain of it. I felt his energy, and I would recognise that signature of power anywhere." She said in a surprisingly sombre tone, this unnerved Nessa, if even Scythen was thrown by this; Something was very wrong. Nessa glanced back at Ellamora, who had sat back in her seat and raised her hand to her chin in thought as though contemplating the situation.

"Ellamora?" Tiphanae asked softly, prompting her for a response on the matter, the Starlight Valkyrie sighed deeply before sitting up,

"Nessa Lux, Miss Arcadia, I have to apologise. It seemed you have been brought into a matter I'd hoped to keep amongst us Valkyrie. You see,Fenrir, is a powerful beast, his abilities rival that of a god. Many moons ago, he was sealed in Valhalla, for what we hoped would be for all eternity. Alas, our fallen sister Hakon, has been attempting to break the seal on Fenrir for a while now. Sneaking into Valhalla through underhanded means, we had stopped her many times now, however, I believe her tamperings may have...weakened his seal. What you saw was most likely a manifestation of Fenrir. From what I know, the seal is still intact this much is certain, but there may be the possibility that his magic has escaped and possessed a vessel. Taking over it completely and forcing it to take his form." She explained, Nessa gulped not liking the sound of this. A beast with the power of a god. If this creature needed to be locked away by Valkyries of all beings, then the thought of him escaping wasn't one to be taken lightly.

"What about Arcadia? and Odin's Silver Star?" She asked her, in response Ellamora stood up slowly.

"Let us walk and talk ladies, sitting here only wastes precious time" She said before moving around the throne. The Valkyries all stood and began to walk after Ellamora without resistance, Nessa followed suit. Ellamora began to lead them to the far end of the hall, opposite to the door through which they had entered. Through another set of double doors, if memory served Nessa correctly, they would lead to a corridor. However, as they reached said doors, when she pulled them open, this was not was Nessa saw. Instead, she revealed an outdoor plain, the same place where the had given Nessa the holy Varja. She stepped out into a small clearing surround by an outskirt of trees, and in the far distant hill, mountains stood — the same frozen sunset overhead. "I have come to believe that our Father had chosen to bestow Arcadia with the power of a Valhalla Star. A specific star that must be collected by the select individual. It holds great power and bestows that individual with magic pooled from our world. Our father is a vague being, so although I do not know the reason for his selection. I know it does not come lightly. Perhaps it is through our connection to you Nessa Lux, having brought Arcadia into a world a while back that resulted in the choosing of her. Or perhaps he had already chosen her before our paths crossed, it is impossible to tell." She explained all the while she talked to look up to the sky.

"We must retrieve the star, or at least accompany Arcadia while she does it. However it is not easy, the star lies in a realm of Valhalla beyond the walls of the Valkyries protection, this part of our world existed long before I was created, and there is the possibility we may face some...interference. The Silver Star is a power sought out by many, should Fenrir know of it, then it is likely other creatures are likely going to attempt to sneak into Valhalla and steal it away."

The Starlight Valykrie finally looked down towards Arcadia, offering her a warm smile. "My father must think highly of you to have chosen you for something so important, so we will do all in our power to make ensure his will is done and you become the stars new owner." She spread her wings behind her, and one by one all the Valkyries followed suit. "Arcadia Fairchilde, Nessa Lux, fly with us through the skies of Valhalla, and together we shall fulfil our father's wishes and the request of your Mother." She said, Nessa  took a deep breath, stepped forward and nodded.

"Let's do this," She said, filled with a sudden sense of purpose. Her orbs appeared around her, circling her body, they picked up speed before levitating her off of the ground. One by one the Valkyries kicked off into the sky soaring upwards. Ellamora led them up, flying an unbelievable speed Nessa could feel the wind pushed against her. Together they soared, like a flock, higher and higher. "Prepare yourself, We are going to break through the Valkyries Barrier." Nessa steeled herself, she could see in ahead, a ripple in the sunset skies. She clenched her fists, shooting forward and slamming into it with a great force. She felt the impact, like a soft wall of magic resisting her. She gritted her teeth and pushed against it, watching as the Valkyries pushed through it with ease, disappearing completely from sighed. With a cry of effort, Nessa pushed more, she felt the barrier split and she was pulled through to the other side.

She rolled through the air a few times before steadying herself. Looking around she saw that the others had gotten through, she smiled. Before looking around, as she saw the skies her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. Above them was a sky filled with countless twinkling stars, a sea of various colours. More star formations and constellations then she could count, it was a beautiful sight and for a moment she was lost to it.

☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆ Empty Re: ☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆

Post by SeaGlass 7th December 2018, 2:11 am

She smiled weakly back over her shoulder to Nessa, "I'm fine.. he's gone from my head."

Arcadia's heart found relief of anxiety she didn't even hadn't even recognized until she felt the extra tension slipping from her shoulders and muscles.  Part of her had feared they wouldn't believe her, and after that projection of Fenrir's power, she was afraid they'd turn her away on top of that. Listening on as Ellamora related the extent of Fenrir's threat and how he may have pulled off that rather frightening feat despite still being sealed away.  How easily his will had overwhelmed hers was terrifying to the least as well.

Could  he do that again? Arcadia pushed that specific fear aside for now, and rose back to her feet upon the table.  She felt safe from further mental intrusion back in human form. She made herself focus more  Ellamora and Nessa.  Time for a little walk, Arcadia scampered to the table's edge, and didn't hesitate to leap down. With her shorter legs, she had to run every few steps to keep up. Last time, she hadn't seen more of Odin's great hall than the entrance and the table with the Valkyrie's thrones. Heading toward a hitherto unseen part of the hall filled her with an adventurous excitement. A nice little distraction from the prospect of losing control of her mind again so easily.

It would be extra nice if this Silver Star was in a treasure room in the back of the Valkyrie's hall. Sadly, that thought was dispelled almost as soon as it entered her young mind, listening to Ellamora continue her interpretation of  her dream and the quickly unfolding events. They came to Valhalla for just this purpose, answers only the Valkyries could give, so she had no reason to doubt Ellamora.

Everything in her dream just made more sense the longer she listened to the Valkyrie explain. Little Arcadia had nothing more to add for the moment, as Ellamora was pretty much answering any questions that came to mind before she could voice them. The littlest slayer's face showed surprise at how the hall just suddenly seemed to pen up onto a plain beyond a set of doors she would have guessed lead to a corridor.  A reality that was swiftly accepted, she was after all not in Earthland anymore. In a land where the sun never set, who knew what other weird alterations of physical law she could expect.

There wasn't time to have a real look around as Ellamora turned to spoke directly to her. She turned her faerie green gaze up to the Starlight Valkyrie, listening all the more intently. The pale blonde slayer felt like she could face anything Valhalla or that Fenrir had to throw at her with friends like the Valkyries to back her up and guide her. ”Thanks, Ms. Ellamora. I... don't know what I'd do without you all guide me. I'm pretty sure I'd just get lost... here or just on Earthland trying to look for this star on my own.”

Arcadia didn't like the idea of risking dragon form after what just happened back inside the great hall, but she couldn't ask any of the Valkyries or big sister to fly her. Not this time, she'd have to rely on them to get past or through anyone or anything that had designs on this same star. The little blonde slayer resumed her shape of ice wyrmling, and lifted off after Nessa and the Valkyries. Not quite as fast big sister or her Valkyrie friends, she flew a little behind them.

She felt the pressure of the Valkyrie's Barrier.  With a slower top speed, the ice wyrmling had to rely on the momentum her 4 tons of practically solid living ice to push through the soft magic wall. Beating her wings hard as she could, she used her mass to barrel through. Her translucent bod of living ice both reflected the countless glittering stars around her, and distorted and magnified the stars that shone through her.  She hovered transfixed the cosmic beauty all around. Alas, just as Elllamora had warned, other creatures knew of the star, or were sent by someone who did. A stream of what could best be described as eyeless, spherical bat-things swept up from below. Individually they were merely a nuisance. Together, the dark cloud of them made it impossible to fly forward with any speed without being buffeted back. The worst part of them was the short poisoned quills that grew swept back from the top. Each quill carried a small dose of a weak sleep poison. Being stuck by one quill was not enough to put one to sleep, but it did slow one down with each quill having a cumulative effect. Be stuck by enough quills in this cloud of eyeless spherical bats, and sleep would claim a victim.

The ice wyrmling cleared a small swath of starry sky clear of the things by along blast of deadly icy breath. Most of the bats bounced of the wyrmling's 4 tons of living ice, but a couple quills did stick where she was vulnerable between her overlapping ice plates. It didn't take long before she felt even the teeniest bit drowsy. Fighting through it, she continued  to try and clear her way through the swarm.

Arcadia did finally punch  through the far side of the swarm, after what seemed like an eternity. The horse-sized wyrmling did not make it through without taking on  a few more quills though. Hovering she plucked them out between her plates of ice. She could feel her faerie green eyes growing a little heavy, and let out one big yawn of her tooth-filled maw.”What were those things?  I kinda feel sleepy now, but we can't stop. Not until we find that  Silver Star. Do you think they were after it? Or are those normal here?   And speaking of here... it is so, so hella pretty. I never dreamed Valhalla could so full of stars. I don't think I've seen anything like this even on the darkest nights in Earthland.”

☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆ Empty Re: ☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 12th December 2018, 3:50 pm

There a moment where Nessa had become completely immersed in the beauty of the skies of Valhalla, it was such a mesmerising sight. Truly a vision to behold, it was just a shame that Nessa didn't have more time to admire it or take a picture to show her family. It wasn't often you got to explore the lands and scenery in a magical realm like Valhalla, Nessa could feel the magical energy all around her, flowing through her and fueling her magic intensely. It was almost unsettling how much magical energy she could feel; she wondered how it would manifest once she cast a spell.

In a matter of moments after arriving past the barrier, the group of women were hit with an attack from a horde of monsters. They were surrounded by creatures with spherical bodies and bat-like wings. Nessa had never seen such a beast in Earth-land, but from the sharp quills on their backs and their vicious behaviour, they reminded her of the imps she handled with Sebastian a while ago, kind of pest-like behaviour. The Valykries didn't waste a moment to jump into the fray, in a matter of moments, swords were being swung around aggressively. Magic was being thrown left, and right, fire, lightning, wind attacks, all their elemental attacks were in full swing. It was a pretty chaotic scene. Nessa summoned her sword of Starlight, as she did so she felt an overwhelming sense of power pulled through her. Being in such proximity to the stars was giving her a sense of endless magic flowing through it, it was a little unstable. The sword shone bigger and brighter than it usually did and was even a little difficult to hold.

To release some of the magical flow inside of her, she summoned some orbs as well, creating several in an instant. She set them off to attack the bat like monsters. Each sphere of Starlight was powerful enough to burn the bats to ashes, meaning Nessa didn't even have to deal with the quills. She had noticed the way there were flying everywhere and how lethal they looked. She hoped everyone had managed to avoid being hit by one. The Valkyries seemed to have no issues with the bats, and Arcadia seemed to be handling them well in her Wyrmling form. This Nessa was pleased to see, even if Arcadia felt uncertain about her power and the way it affected her. Seeing her be able to control it and use it so effectively, could only mean good things right?

As the bats were defeated and the fight settled down, Nessa's orbs would continually disappear into the skies and reappear around her. Because of the intense magic flow occurring within her at that moment, she just had to continue to expend magic to prevent it from overpowering her. Her main concern being that with her magic, from past experience, if it wasn't handled efficiency, it would give her intense nausea and exhaustion. Which wasn't ideal, she had no idea how far they would have to travel to track down Odin's Silver Star. Although Ellamora had suggested they would have to travel, how far or how long they would be travelling wasn't specified. Nessa just hoped she was able to keep up; the Valykries were in their own magical land, so they're magic was easy enough for them to maintain. But this was difficult for herself, and Arcadia, Nessa in particular, didn't want to hold them back.

Arcadia spoke up, asking about the monsters and mentioning that she was drowsy. Nessa frowned, wondering if the bats had done something to her. Concerned for her friend, Nessa flew over to Arcadia and released a cleansing spell to remove any effects of the bats to Arcadia. Arcadia would glow with a magical light for a moment. Hopefully, the magic would work on removing the spell; it was only weak to the cold. Although Nessa couldn't be sure after all Arcadia was made of ice. But it was worth a try. "I have no idea, but they weren't friendly." She said, before looking over at the others

"Those guys are more like vermin here; you'll probably see a lot of them as we move forward." Tiphanae explained, Nessa nodded. They didn't seem like very conscientious creatures and beating them had been easy enough. Nessa could only imagine much worse.

"Speaking of which, let us push on." Ellamora instructed, before shooting off. The Valkyries would follow on after her, Nessa smiled at Arcadia before shooting off, this was proving to be quite the adventure already. On the one hand, it was a little scary because she had no idea what to expect during there travels, but with Arcadia flying alongside her, with all the Valkyries too. ☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆ Empty Re: ☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆

Post by SeaGlass 16th December 2018, 3:42 am

Arcadia felt the full power of Nessa's magic. Between Arcadia currently suppressing the natural snowfall that followed her around and proximity of Valhalla's star, there was more than enough  strength to overcome the ice nature of her dragon form. Her mind clearing of the sleep-inducing venom from the bat-thing quills, the wyrmling was already free of any sluggishness she had taken on by the time the glow faded. She held her maw half open in a dragon's approximation of a smile. ”Thanks. Brain's feelin' more alert already.”

Though she didn't have any direct connection to Valhalla or the stars the way Nessa did, Arcadia was still beginning to feel the effects of being so close to the divinely wrought stars of Valhalla. They were just a bit slower to take hold. Nessa's cleansing spell sort of punched the way for surrounding magic to flow through rather than seep into Arcadia's ice form.  She felt invigorated with the extra magic around.

She flew after Nessa and the Valkyries. When things proved quiet after that swarm of bat-things, Arcadia let herself enjoy scenery a little more. She power climbed tens of feet above the others in altitude, and spread an extra  of dragon wings. These were made of hoarfrost, and once extended, the wyrmling reverted to human with wings of hoarfrost remaining.  No longer in powered flight, she was now gliding.

Little Arcadia immediately pulled her iLac from her specially sewn dress pocket, and took a quick series of selfies against the starry background. She banked and rolled about to get a few pictures of the immense glittering night sky by itself too. Satisfied with her collection of pics so far, she swooped down beside Nessa. She would hook arm and arm if she could to stay steady and even with her big sister, while framing an iLac selfie of the two of them against the backdrop of the stars. ”Say anything with an EEE sound in it. Eeeeee!”

Once the self was taken, she'd bank away and fold up her hoarfrost wings, allowing herself to experience about a second of free fall. Once her iLac was safely tucked away back in its pocket though, she transformed back into that horse-sized wyrmling. Back under powered flight, ice wyrmling Arcadia flapped her way back up to even altitude with Nessa and the Valkyries. ”If ya want any copies of those I can send out of for those too when we get back.”

Arcadia whirled around, indulging in a few aerobatics just for the sake of joy and sheer exhilaration. The wyrmling broke into a an extra steep climb, pushing herself a ways up into a wingover to the left. When pulling up out of the short dive from her turn, she continued straight into a  loop that would carry her over to Nessa's other side by the time she pulled out of it. She finished with tucking her wings in for a little barrel roll. She showed off a little more by quick reversing the direction of her barrel rolls with only a couple flaps in between to maintain altitude.

The quiet spell was too good to last, as Arcadia felt an ever so slight pressure headache set in. A sensation almost too subtle that she could've easily missed it. Along with it came motion among the stars that also could have been easily missed as the entity blended in against the brilliant night sky so well. It was a slowly rotating pentagram that was glowing through a hypnotically shifting rainbow of cool and calming, softly glowing colors. It trailed  and was surrounded by a glowing nebula-like aura with a  hypnotically shifting rainbow of calming colors to match. In the center of the slowly rotating pentagram was a single eye with its pupil narrowed to a feline-like slit. The eye remained stationary relative to the rotation of the pentagram around it, though the eye, pentagram and surrounding nebulous aura traveled together as a single unit.

A whole flock of those blind bat-like vermin with the sleep-inducing quills  seem drawn into following this strange.. creature. Arcadia couldn't think of any other word to describe it. She knew she didn't want to be struck by any more of those quills so she veered off to intercept pentagram creature. It was  headed toward their group anyway. Perhaps the strangest thing of this pentagram creature, if Nessa or any of the Valkyries felt the same pressure headache then they'd see it too. If the pressure headache had skipped over them, then all they'd see is the flock of spherical bat-things.

Having learned her lesson from before, Arcadia pulled up well ahead of the oncoming flock and pentagram creature, which looked clearly to be leading them and not chased.  She unleashed a whirling, torrent of freezing mist and razor ice shards. This flock was small enough that few remaining bats split of, avoiding the ice wyrmling altogether to face the sure doom against Nessa and the Valkyries. The strange spinning pentagram creature caught in the worst of the icy blast came out of it none the worse for wear. The shifting glow of its colors softly illuminating all who could see it.

    Bob the Dream Demon:

To all those who could see him, the pentagram creature's voice came through crisp and clear in their minds, all those who saw nothing, also heard nothing. His voice was strangely pleasant and rather soothing, Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.  It's good thing I'm only in your minds or that would've hurt.  And what a disappointment these local vermin are. But I suppose real entertainment will require some actual work on my part. I could bend vermin mind 'til the end of time, but maybe a mind that I had to put some effort into bending will raise the entertainment value. But first, where are my manners. Hi, I'm Bob. So many places I've visited, so many different names I've been called, but my favorite has always been Bob. I would stay and explain more, but then I might die of boredom. Yet I cannot let you ruin the great party Fenrir promised me if I could give him early parole. So no Odin star for you, little winter miss. You should be coming with me. I have a friend who needs your help.

The wyrmling came to a hover, her faerrie green eyes transfixed on t he hypnotic patterns of Bob's shifting colors. She shook her head, trying to keep it clear. It was not easy though, Bob's calm voice almost made what he was saying sound reasonable, until she could let herself think about it. ”No! Stay outta my head! I won't help you! Or Fenrir!”

Bob flared  menacingly red, bathing all in a reddish tint, his single eye turning red, and his voice boomed inside the heads of anyone listening in a more demonic timbre. ”You will help, little dragon. Nothing will  ge-”  Bob seemed to breath in deep, as if he could do that, as his colors drifted back to the more hypnotic, shifting rainbow of cool, calming colors. His voice too, returned to the more pleasant and soothing tone it had before. Beg my pardon. I'm afraid I lost my temper. I wish I had the time and patience to help you see reason, but I know a much more entertaining way to convince you. And it will be so much easier with your friends out of the way.

A wolf howl sounded softly in the distance, Ah and that would be one of Fenrir's sons. I believe it's the one chasing the moon... Hati. Yes. I think that's someone I Need to go have chat with next. Ta! Ta!

With that Bob sped off, his pentagram spinning a little faster as he went. Also the as he faded from view, so did the pressure headaches of anyone who saw or heard him.  In the direction he disappeared into, a great, pitch black eagle that dwarfed the entire group of Valkyries and two wizards combined. As it reached their altitude, it gave a deafening screech.

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 18th December 2018, 2:07 pm

Nessa would observe Arcadia carefully as she seemed to perk up from Nessa's light touch of magic. Nessa smiled as the girl remarked on feeling more awake, pleased to be of some assistance to her dear friend. Nessa personally loved using that spell, it was one of the few spells that reminded her of her mothers magic. Cordelia Lux had been a magic healer that released powerful healing light, Nessa never tired of hearing the stories of all the countless lives she saved with her magic. It was just a shame the world didn't see her that way, they had only seen her as the foolish sister of Antoinette, the Lady of light. The naive girl who had tried to save a dark guild and ended up dead because of it. Only Nessa's family knew of all the good her Mother had done, her true legacy was buried under rumour and shame.

Nessa watched as Arcadia began taking selfies, she glanced over at Ellamora who was looking a little confused by the young girl's behaviour. Of course Ellamora hadn't met Arcadia the last time she came by, so she did not know of an iLac. Nessa could see the Starlight Valkyrie trying to work out in her mind the reasoning for such behaviour. It was an amusing sight. Nessa would wink at the camera as Arcadia snapped a shot of them together, because why not. It wasn't like they were that likely to come to this part of Valhalla anytime soon. Although it occurred to Nessa that they were probably a little pressed for time. But soon they pushed on, flying through the skies of Valhalla. A while passed without any further visits from those bat-like creatures. It was nice, to be able to enjoy the sights around them, although Nessa had no idea how much time had passed. Could've been minutes, could've been hours, there wasn't really a sense of time here.

Nessa felt her head grow a little fuzzy, she would rub her temples as she flew. She was starting to feel a headache coming on. She reached around to the satchel at her side, pulling out a flask she had prepared before leaving in the morning. She opened the flash and took a few hearty gulps, wondering if she was just dehydrated. She hadn't brought any painkillers with her, which was a little frustrating. She would just have to suffer it for now. She would continue to sip at the flask as she flew, yet a headache only seemed to get worse. She heard a voice from her left, "You feel it too?" Tiphanae would ask. Nessa looked at her in confusion, Tiphanae reached up and tapped her temple with her index finger. Nessa frowned,

    "You have a headache too?"

    "Indeed," Tiphanae said,

"I have one too," Elgorea added, Scythen who was flying to her right would nod. Nessa glanced at the others, "You too?" She asked, Ellamora and the others would shake their heads. That was strange, why did only some of them have headaches. The group came to a stop, suspiciously checking out the area. Tiphanae would point towards the sky above, drawing Nessa's gaze. Amongst the stars, they would see a bizarre shift. The Valkyries that didn't have headaches, such as Ellamora, Agatha, Arcturus and Lucinda would appeared confused. Not able to see the same scene unfolding before the others. The bizarre formation appeared in the stars in the shape of a Pentagram, surrounded by a rainbow of colours blending into the starry cosmos around it. In the centre of the pentagram a single eye, rotating along with it. In the eye, a slit-like pupil, much like the kind one would see on a cat.

"Watch out!" Lucinda would shout as hordes of the bat-like creatures would fly past them, flapping almost robotically towards the being in the sky. The girls ducked out of the way, although the creatures seemed less interested in them and more focused on the nebula-being ahead. As though hypnotised by its mystical power. Nessa spotted Arcadia fly ahead, using her ice magic to handle some of them. Some would shoot down towards them, separating from the group, beginning a vicious attack. Within moments the horde was completely destroyed with a few bursts of elemental magic. The girls without the headaches could at least see the bat-like creatures, just not what was luring them. "What is that thing?" Nessa said looking back up at it.

"What thing? What are you looking at?" Arcturus asked in bewilderment. Elgorea would point up at the creature, only to confuse them further. Ellamora sighed, "It seems this creature can only be seen by a select few." She explained.

Nessa jumped at the sound of a voice in her head, quickly realising it was coming from the being above them. She listened as he went on to announce himself to them as... Bob. Before declaring that he was going to be freeing Fenrir in exchange for taking Arcadia.

"Don't be ridiculous, as being such as yourself does not have the authority to free Fenrir. Only Odin is given that law, and you are no god. Any attempt to do so will result in your demise," Tiphanae snarled fiercely, clearly angered by the dream demons suggestion. Nessa looked around the at others, the girls who could not hear Bob were clearly displeased by the information Tiphanae had just revealed to them. After Bob had finished his tirade, he spun off, talking about having a chat with Hati and leaving them with someone to deal with.

Heading towards them with a deafening screech was a giant black eagle, "Tell me you guys see that?" Nessa called out, summoning her sword once more.

Agatha flew forward with a devilish grin, "Oh yeah, we see it." She held out her palm, and from it shot a bolt of lightning that struck the eagle directly in the chest. It reared slightly, a few feathers shed from the attack. Before turning back towards them, angrier than ever. It soared down ready for another attack.

☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆ Empty Re: ☆☆☆It's Full Of Stars (Job - Nessa)☆☆☆

Post by SeaGlass 20th December 2018, 2:59 am

The ice wyrmling narrowed her faerie green gaze at the giant black eagle.  Bob's appearance had certainly been quite unsettling, She wasn't even sure what she was seeing was real, but when it seemed a few of the others saw it too.  Arcadia roared, ”This isn't over, Bob! If that's you're real name!”

Pressure headaches returned briefly, but Bob did not except for a single smart-alec laugh and list of a few of the other names he's known by,  You can always call me Cthaallin or Iamhoukl'ruxr or Avrugrath or Vhaolpalbh o-

Arcadia snapped, ”Fine Bob! Why don't you come back here and fight us yourself!”  There was no response to that except an amused chuckle that trailed away with  pressure headaches disappearing again.  Meanwhile, Arcadia turned her attention back to the more immediate threat Bob had left behind. As the eagle closed in after Agatha's first volley, the ice wyrmling conjured a few puppets of icy mist, all shaped as copies of herself. The eagle didn't focus its beak on any one target, simply  biting at targets of opportunity that its path brought it closest to.

With its first pass though, it did try and train one of its large taloned feet to snag Agatha out of the air.  Arcadia and her puppets of mist swarmed up around the eagle's head. She followed the eagle on  around as it swooped through the air space they had all occupied, and came around for a second pass. The eagle must have realized it was not going to last long this way  after taking everything Nessa and Valkyries had to dish out in two passes, only snuffing out maybe two or three puppet dragons, the gigantic avian brought itself to a hover.

Forgoing a third pass through gauntlet the Valkyries and Starlight Maiden presented, the great eagle conjured a terrible microburst. A sudden downdraft of hurricane force winds blew through the swarm of  ice dragon puppets and down the midst of the Valkyries. Arcadia found herself in midst of the eagle's conjured maelstrom.  She found herself tumbling out of Valhalla's night sky. With her, the puppets that were suddenly out of spell range disappeared, others fell along with her.

The eagle let out another deafening screech, capable of stunning anyone in melee range, and it summoned a few allies of its own. Five Air Elementals and three Tempests, elemental spirits resembling storm clouds with faces. The Elementals and Tempests split themselves up among the Valkyries in an attempt to distract them from attacking the eagle directly.

Arcadia was glad they were so  far up, she'd hate to find out what the ground was like in this part of Valhalla. It was dark below she couldn't see it. The ice wyrmling needed every bit of elevation too, because she struggled to pull of out her tumbling fall. With great strain and effort, the wyrmling held her wings out  straight until she caught enough air to break her free fall into a glide. Pulling level, the ice wyrmling began to climb back out of the murk she had tumbled down into.

She came roaring back, not entirely sure how the fight had been going the short while she was out of it.  The ice wrymling sent a couple of her remaining puppets of mist ahead of her to let the eagle's beak poof them instead of crunching little bits of ice off of her real self.  She unleashed a terrible roar of whirling frozen mist and razor ice shards. Arcadia 's roar caught the great eagle in the face. She waved a clawed forefoot to send five daggers of ice flying, one from each of her clawed digits.

When she sent another five flying at the eagle from her other foreleg, Arcadia noticed for the first time how close they had gotten to the Valhallan moon.  No wonder she couldn't make out any ground below while falling.  She still couldn't say if there was even any ground down there. Her flight path carried her a little higher still, and before turning to bank back toward the eagle, a star seemed to brighten above the moon.  That was it, the star she had come for, and it was closer than she would have thought.  ”I see it.. I see the star! Just over the moon And it kinda looks like its getting closer on its own. Think you guys can handle this eagle and its friends?  I think I'm gonna go meet that star.  Maybe if I can beat Bob there, all this will end.”

Arcadia dismissed her misty clones, and sped away from the fight. She quickly closed the remaining distance to the moon, and started climbing higher. Thankfully for her, the star brightening above it was coming closer as she went up.  The star easily covering more than half the distance she would have had to climb to reach the star at its zenith. The ice wyrmling extended all four of her legs as she flipped  to catch the the now pulsing star. She hadn't really known what to expect, her eh she was. Her clawed hands clasped around the celestial gem, throwing sparks out all over the sky.  Beating her wings, she expected the star to come right down, but at first it refused to budge. Four tones of nearly solid ice hung from the sky.

Her wings beat furiously as she trashed about, wrenching the star back and forth.  Then all at once it gave, and divine golden mana fell from the sky with it. Star and ice wyrmling together fell straight back with bits of divine mana snowing down toward the moon with her. Releasing the star from the inky dark sky had unleashed quite the divine shock too, stunning Arcadia.  Four tons of stunned ice wyrmling crated down into the Valhallan lunar surface, the Silver Star of Odin crashing down  not far from her in crystal form, the power of Odin shining brightly within.

    Odin's Silver Star:

The little bits of golden divine mana scattered across the lunar surface all around her, and continued to drift down... all of it holding the same kind of potential as the star itself, if in less powerful form.  As Arcadia began to recover her senses, she felt the now familiar pressure headache set in, yet this time was accompanied by breathing and a new scent. Lifting her dragon head of ice from the lunar soil, she slowly rose back to her feet to set her faerie green gaze on a dark wolf. It was a powerful lupine, but far too small to even be a projection of Fenrir. Yet its eyes were exact matches of the one belonging to Bob. Anyone who did not feel the pressure headache would only see two terrible yellow lupine eyes and no sing of Bob, ”You must be Hati...or should I say Bob? You're too late, Bob! I found it.”

The crack and expulsion of divine manna to snow down over the moon was enough to draw the great black eagle away from its fight with Nessa and the Valkyries.  Either by itself or with any Elementals or Tempests, if any survived this long, would rush toward the moon, battling along the way if it had to.

Those who felt the pressure headache would hear Bob's smooth and calming voice, those who didn't would ear Hati's growl filled voice, Bob-Hati or Bati laughing, You did. That you did. So close, yet so far. I'm afraid you have lost after fighting so hard. Why don't you let me help you, the way I've helped Hati here. I helped him get to the very place he's been chasing forever, and now he's going to help me start that party I've been looking forward to. Now if you help me on your own, we could really have a party to remember! And you'd get see someone I know you miss very much. You could be with your mom again. Both of you could actually, you and your... sister-friend there. All you have to do is help me get a little party started. That's all.

Bati's's soothing voice made the offer sound way more reasonable than it had any right to. She knew what he was really talking about, but that didn't make fighting off his mental coercion any easier.  Her faerie green eyes teared over, and she shook her head, reverting to her human form. It was only by keeping things framed in the end of the world that she was able to finally fend off the temptation. Picking up the crystallized star, Arcadia cradled the Silver Star between both hands. In that moment, she focused on why she come all this way, to find a way to better help her big sister when danger reared its ugly head... like now.  With that the crystal star glowed brighter, and when the blinding light receded, it had taken on the form of a silver charm anklet, studded with diamonds between the star and moon charms dangling from it. ”No deal, Bati! And I don't think we'll be letting Hati stay on the moon either”

Silver Star of Odin (Charm Anklet):

By now the eagle had joined Bati over the Vahallan lunar surface, it gave another of its deafening cries, despite however ragged it may look by now. It would aid Bati in trying to win the hard way.

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 26th December 2018, 8:41 am

The whole situation with Bob the dream demon was very confusing, not only did he ignore Tiphanae, but whatever he was saying seemed like a great deal of nonsense to Nessa. His intentions were foolish, and frankly, Nessa could find herself growing irritated. This demon thing wasn't intimidating, nor did it even attempt to attack them itself. But itself had presented them with a different foe. The giant black eagle, Agatha having been the first into the fray, hit the eagle in the centre of its chest with a powerful bolt of lightning. This injured the bird but wasn't enough to take it down. Agatha grinned. "Good, at least it's gonna put up somewhat of a fight." She said, with a grin. It seemed that one of the only times Agatha was genuinely happy, was when she was fighting.

The eagle attempted to claw at Agatha ferociously, the lightning ducked, kicking off against the eagle's foot to roll back through the air laughing. The Valkyrie would launch her sword through the skies towards the beast, hitting it slicing in straight through the leg. Agatha would then soar after her sword with tremendous speed, her body cracking with lightning. She caught the sword swiftly before turning back on the beast. At this point Arcadia had rejoined the fight, creating several clones to assist them. "Oh, looks like I'm not the only one who can do that," Elgorea said, suddenly vibrating with demonic energy her body began to shake with an elevated frequency, and one by one clones of herself would emerge from it. Creating several fake apparitions of herself. Nessa watched, this was the first time she'd ever seen Elgorea fight.

The red-headed demon Valkyrie and her apparitions formed a circular formation around the eagle, spinning around it like a ring. The Valkyrie and her apparitions would move faster and faster, the eagle snapped and clawed at them, but if it struck a copy, another would take its place. The clones would feint attacking the creature, while occasionally the real Demon Valkyrie would lunge forward, appearing to feint only to drive her spear into the monster's ribs, blood would spray forth, narrowly missing the demon, and so the process would repeat. The eagle was too flustered by all the attacks to concentrate on locating the real Elgorea.

Lucinda's technique was particularly amusing to witness, as the girl was made entirely of fire. She was merely soaring across the eagle, reaching out and running her blade against its feathers. They would catch aflame, singeing the giant bird's flesh. Exposing and softening areas that the others would focus their magic attacks on. Nessa threw her orbs in where she could, assisting the Valkyries wherever she could. She found their combined strength an amazing sight to behold, and she couldn't help but wonder if this was truly their full strength or if they were being cautious with the creature. Not knowing it's full strength.

Nessa watched Agatha landed herself on the back of the giant eagle's neck, scaling the creature, she made her way upwards. What is she planning? Nessa thought although she was distracted from the sight by the cold feel of dread. Scythen had appeared suddenly next to her, Nessa gulped, looking over at the blue-haired Valykrie. Scythen smirked softly at her, an eerie expression if Nessa ever saw one. "Our magic pleases you, little one," She said in that cool, silky tones of hers. Nessa nodded in response, not sure what Scythen expected her to say. Nessa didn't interact with Scythen often if anything out of all the Valkyries she worked with her the least. The Necromancer's energy was still a little overwhelming for Nessa; she wasn't strong enough to subdue it. Ellamora had told Nessa that as her magic grew more powerful, she would eventually be able to subdue the effects of Scythen's aura. But it was clear to Nessa; she wasn't quite there yet. Because even just flying so close the Valkyrie, made Nessa want to ball up into a ball and hide.

"This beast should be dead by now, Agatha alone could put the creature out of its misery. And they say I am cruel," She continued, Nessa, frowned in confusion, glancing back at the Valkyries. She had a sense they were holding back, but being cruel, were they really toying with it? Scythen, almost as though she had read the Starlight Maiden's thoughts continued. "No, I guess there is a reason, Ellamora has a plan. We just need to antagonise the beast to the last resort, Watch little one, you will see." She said in an amused tone. Nessa's eyes locked on to the fight, trying to pick up what Scythen meant. The Valkyries were soaring around the beast, shooting their magical spells, slicing at it with their weapons. Agatha, how has climbed onto the eagles head, was somehow managed to hold on as the beast thrashed around violently. Agatha raised her sword in the air; it's long blade glistening in the reflection of the stars. Finally, she drove it down, directly into the eagle's right eye. The eagle screamed in pain, thrashing even more wildly than before. Ellamora flew back, "Brace yourselves." Ellamora roared, and the Valkyries suddenly backed away. Scythen grabbed Nessa by the back of her dressed and yanked her, flying away from the beast. The eagle then released a microburst of energy in the form of a storm, Nessa would scream at the sight of her dear friend being caught in the downward blast of it. She would try to fly forward to help her, only to be yanked back by the Death Valkyrie. "Patience little one, this is all for the sake of your little friend." She said, Nessa, looked over at her in bewilderment. Unable to understand how allowing her friend to be hit with such an attack was really helping her.

The eagle let out a deafening screech, Arcturus who hadn't been far back enough, was hit with the force of the screech. Reeling back and grabbing her head. Elgorea shot to her side, grabbing her. "Tura, Tura, are you ok?" She asked, using an affectionate nickname for her fellow Valkyrie. The ice Valkyrie nodded, "Yeah, boy did that sting, gotta be more careful." The demon Valkyries eyes would shine with relief, she reached forward and kissed Arcturus on the forehead. "It seems the beast has resorted to bringing a few friends of its own." Agatha said with a grin, enjoying the dragged out battle. Around the eagle, several more creature appears. Air elementals and Tempest, creatures that had a resemblance to beings with stormy faces. "Wind magic huh? What say you Tiph, gonna let these pests show you up." Agatha called to Tiph in a teasing tone. Tiphanae grinned, "I'll show these beasts the true power of wind." She called back, throwing herself at an Air Elemental, the creature attempted to hit her with a blast of wind magic. Which the Valkyrie easily deflected with the swing of her sword. "What a shallow attempt to fell me, here taste my wind, see how it feels." Tiphanae raised her palm, the air twisting around her. She shot a piercing burst of wind magic at the creature, that hit it so sharply it's split off a huge chunk of it's side.

At this point, the rest of the Valkyries had already charged their targets, "You might wanna get in on this Nessa Lux, or you'll mist all the fun." Lucinda called out, before slicing away at the Tempest she was facing off with. Nessa grinned, looking around she realised that Scythen had already left to fight once more. Nessa threw herself at one of the remaining creatures, a tempest. Nessa dived in front of it as it attempted to attack Ellamora from behind.

"Hi there!" She said perkily, throwing her hands up she summoned a cage of light around it. The inside of the cage began to radiate with Starlight, the inside of the cage exploding with magical energy and hitting the tempest with it. As the cage did its damage, Nessa summoned her Starlight sword, shooting forward, as the cage disappeared. She drove the sword directly into the chest of the creature, through the other side. The Tempest slumped down against the sword, before disintegrating into nothing. That had been easier than she expected, she had learned so much over her time as a mage. Perhaps this was a reflection of how much stronger and more adept to fighting she had grown.

The Valkyries one by one defeated the additional creatures they had been facing. Agatha and Ellamora had barely taken more than a minute to kill theirs and were already working on the eagle once more. Nessa noticed they were moving the eagle upwards, driving it up with their magical blows. "She's coming," Ellamora said, Nessa, blinked in confusion, before glancing down to where the Starlight Valkyrie was looking. From below them, Arcadia was soaring back, in her Wyrmling form. A fierce determination, as the miniature dragon, blasted the eagle in the face with a roar of ice magic. Before striking the beast with several blades of ice.

Arcadia seemed to spot something in the distance, exclaiming eagerly about seeing the star. She asked if they would handle the rest, Nessa flew over, "Go on girl, we got this!" She said encouragingly, pleased they were finally getting close to finishing their mission. Nessa and the Valkyries would turn on the eagle once more. Surrounding it, they would blast it with a burst of each of their elements, Ellamora and Nessa hitting it with starlight, and the rest hitting it with Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind and Demonic energy. Scythen, on the other hand, would turn, eyes close she focused. Nessa didn't ask what the Death Valkyrie was doing as it seemed important.

As the fighting proceeded, there was a tremendous burst of mana from the moon, causing all the Valkyries and Nessa to look up. "She has released the star." Ellamora said with a genuine smile, the Valkyries would cheer, and Nesa would do a little fist-pump. The eagle took this opportunity, screeching loudly, it would soar towards the moon. "The fights not over though, time to finish this." Agatha said, the eight of them would soar through the sky. Towards the moon, landing on its surface after several moments. Nessa felt the headache she had felt earlier return and knew Bob the dream demon was back. She heard him address Arcadia, glancing over at Hati, the ferocious wolf that stared them down. The girls who couldn't hear Bob talking could listen to Hati this time, being spoken through by Bob.

The eagle joined them once more, and the group would face each other. "You heard her, you're not welcome here. So I guess it's time you leave." Nessa growled,

"Focus your magic girls, no more holding back. This ends now," Ellamora ordered, the Valkyries lined up. "Scythen, the eagle I leave to you, you have my permission to use that." Scythen whose eyes were still closed, slowly opened, a smile lit up on her face. So purely evil and full of delight that Nessa struggled to look at her.

"Come fallen children of Valhalla," Her voice rang out manically, and around her the air began to shift. Black figures of smoke would appear, manifesting in a great heard. Nessa felt the sense of death surround her, realising what this was. Of course, Valhalla was the realm in which dead warriors were chosen to rest for their bravery on the battlefield. Of course, Scythen, the Valkyrie of Death would have the ability to reach those souls. And she was summoning them here, within moments the moon was layered with over a hundred dead souls. The Valykrie would wave her Scythe towards the eagle. "Feast, my children, snuff out this beast existence in the name of your benevolent god Odin," She roared, the souls would bellow back before charging the eagle. The eagle attempted to swipe and claw at the dead figures, only to no avail. They were dead after all. Within moments, the beast would crumble under the horde, disappearing under the black smoke. Screeching as it failed to fight out the cloud of death that had fallen upon it. When the smoke faded, the eagle would lay on the surface of the moon, it's life snuffed out completely.

"Well that was...horrifying..." Nessa croaked out, Scythen rolled her neck, her wide, satisfied grin sending a chill down Nessa's spine. The remaining Valkyrie at this point, charged forward towards the wolf, swinging their weapons at it. Nessa snapped back to reality and joining in blasted the wolf with her magic. Ellamora would rise up into the sky, "Face me demon, I wish to gift you with the Valkyries true power." The Starlight Valkyrie shone with the power of Valhalla's stars, radiating with so much power the air around her would ripple with distorted heat. She would raise her palms to the sky, sword in the air. She would spin it in her grip, before releasing a wave of Starlight energy away from the moon. The blast soared through the sky, hitting everything from miles all around. Regardless of Bob not having a physical body, even he would feel the immense power of the first daughter of Odin.

On the ground, the Valkyries would have Hati surrounded. Agatha would roar, running forward, she would throw her arms around the wolf. The beast would sink its teeth into her shoulder in return. Still, the lightning Valkyrie would not let go. Nessa would go to the charge forward, only to have Tiphanae stop her.

    "What are you doing?"

"It must be her," She said softly, Agatha would look up at Arcadia, her tough Valhallan muscles holding the wolf in place, despite her flesh being ripped into by its sharp fangs. Nessa didn't know why, but the Valkyries wanted Arcadia to finish off the wolf, did this have something to do with what was said earlier, was this their way of proving she would not betray them and bring on the fall of Valhalla as Fenrir had told. A test, Nessa didn't like it, but she understood the Valkyries had their own rules to abide by. Agatha barked towards the Dragon Slayer with a fierce encouragement.

    "Now, Dragon child, end this."

Arcadia could feel her headache grow as Bob intruded deeper into her mind, and the offer he made with his next words only she could hear. Keeping hold of the celestial charm bracelet, Arcadia held her head at the temples. For a moment, she only stood in silent tears. The offer, whatever it was, was extremely tempting. The sound of her friends fighting so hard on her behalf though, helped pull her free. She shook her head in defiance of the dream demon trying to seize hold of her mind, "No! No! Even if you really could bring my mom back to me, living and breathing, she and all my new friends and third family, would never forgive me for it would cost everyone else! That's not what she was training me to fight for! It's also not why my big sister and all the Valkyries fought to help get me here, for me to just wind up being so selfish!"

She caught the tail end of Scythen's finishing off the eagle, and was both awestruck and horrified. Arcadia was glad that Valkyrie was on her side, and sincerely hoped to never be on the opposite.

Knowing she would need every ounce of strength she could draw on, Arcadia bent to slip the celestial charm bracelet Odin's Silver Star had become around her ankle. A surprise side effect struck when she did. Little Arcadia grew back into normal teenage Arcadia.

The shock of it kept her from closing the clasp, and the bracelet fell the the lunar soil. As soon as the Silver Star fell away from her ankle, she returned to being Little Arcadia again. Picking the the Silver Star charms up again, she straightened up, and looked at them stunned. Yet, she knew she would have to be shocked later. There was no time to even speculate right now. Hearing Agatha's call to end the fight drew her complete attention back to the immediate here and now.

She slipped the Silver Star charm bracelet around her wrist, fully expecting the same aging up side effect, fully ready to ignore it for now. Only with the bracelet around her wrist, she did feel the Silver Star's divine power seeping into her as before, but she remained Little Arcadia. This would have to be explored later for sure.
Arcadia resumed the form of an ice wyrmling. Four tons of nearly solid ice launched back on the wing and sped toward Agatha and the dream demon possessed wolf. Not even thinking about it, she called on the star's power, substituting another element to replace the usual ice her magic always spawned. Crystal formed and grew around all four of Hati's legs, holding the possessed wolf firmly on place. It would let Agatha release her hold, if she wanted.

Switching her output element back to ice, Arcadia's frozen roar carried an extra bite. The whirling torrent of freezing mist chilled the wolf deeper and more than half again as many more razor shards of ice than usual tore through fur and flesh. The Valhallan wolf did not have enough time to counterattack or break its feet free of their crystal prison. The ice wyrmling slammed into its side, busting it free of the crystal around its feet. Between the divinely empowered dragon roar, the wyrmling's crashing into it, icy talons extended, Hati was down for the count.

Beating her wings, Arcadia carried the unconscious wolf off before he could have a chance to wake up. She flew far enough away from the moon, so that when she unlocked the grip of her icy talons, the wolf would drop down into the dark abyss below.

Arcadia returned to the lunar surface, all the mana that had come free with the star floated up around her. It would turn to jewel on their return to Earhland. A little extra reward for their stellar efforts.

Once more reverting to human, Little Arcadia, she dished out celebratory hugs all around, to Nessa and any Valkyries who would take them. There were celebratory selfies to go with them.

The pressure headaches slowly returned to Arcadia and maybe a few others. Bob rose over the lunar horizon filling half the sky over the moon. His rotating pentagram and surrounding nebulous glow was all a hellish red, bathing the moonscape in a red tint to those who could see him. The red light pulsed with the dream demon's anger. His voice growing deeper and more demonic by the word. "What a bunch of party poopers." Bob focused his one angry cat-like eye to Tiphanae. "And I may not be a god, but in the Nightmare Realm you couldn't tell the difference. All I wanted to do, was share some of the fun we have there all the time with dullards like yourselves. But you lot aren't so bad. You may have spoiled my fun with Fenrir, but at least it was mildly entertaining. And some of you have such promise to unlock a real party sometime in the future. I'll be seeing you!"

His eye the size of a large viewing lacrima filled with images skimmed from the thoughts and memories of those below as he spoke of some who have promise to unlock another party. These were images of deepest fears and deepest secrets that played like a slide show as the dream demon began to laugh. A gargantuan rift opened behind the giant rotating pentagram. The rift was something everyone could see and see into. It was filled with... really it could hurt one's mind trying to understand what was visible within the rift. Nothing visible inside was ever the same from one second to the next. One comprehensible thing the rift did give off was an almost tangible sense of fear or dread. Beyond the rift was the Nightmare Realm, full of entities like Bob that all very badly wanted to spill through the rift, but couldn't.

Bob's demonic laughter continued unhindered as he slowly back into the rift. When he past through the rift, the headaches all faded, Bob's pentagram form resumed its shifting colors and he was visible to all. He just kept on laughing until the rift closed as if it hadn't been there at all.

Perhaps to Bob's annoyance, if he was still there, Arcadia cheered once the rift was closed. "Woooo! We didnit! We won! Maybe he'll be back, but we beat him one, we'll beat him again!"

She gave a big sigh of relief, kneeling briefly to offer a quiet thanks to Odin and her mother. Arcadia rose back to her feet, and glanced to the myriad of stars sparkling above the lunar surface "These stars really are!so pretty! Millions and billions more than I've ever seen on Earthland, but I think I'm ready to go home."
