"Snow melts into water... just as water fades into air," a delicate and soft voice spoke toward the ground, placing a singular hand into a soft and fluffy pile of snow that sat in the middle of the path, "it is a process that has always intrigued me...". The girl of violet eyes picked up a small portion of the snow and stood once again from her knees, allowing the snow to drizzle through the splits between her fingers and twirl away into the thick winds that blew peacefully through the mountain. It was around the ultimate time of darkness within the range of Hakobe; the time was midnight, and the full moon was beaming overhead with its characteristics revealed in full. Two individuals dressed in decadent kimonos and oriental wear slowly advanced up the trails of the mountain to what was rumored to be a fortress of sorts; the home of the basilisks, a place where the morals of the priestesses aligned quite perfectly. "Now, we must continue up this mountain. I feel as though the view of the sunrise will be spectacular if we make it there in time..." Kikyo spoke in a very gentle manner to her twin sister, turning to face the path that stretched upward into the skies of snow and stars; the Lady of the Storm was the reason that the two were advancing up this mountain, as it was her idea to potentially attempt to join the Guild of the cold and dark mountains. She wanted revenge against the Magic Council. She wanted to see them suffer at the end of her blade of darkness. It was said that she would be able to possibly make that wish into reality if she could join their ranks by her dragon herself; the storm persuaded her stillness in attempt to help satisfy her grief.

While the lady of violet eyes calmly walked step after step among the trail of snow in the grace of a thousand angels, Akiyo hopped around in the snow quickly behind her, holding a chocolate bar in one hand and a katana in the other. The girl of sunset-colored hair was in a state of joy and excitement; while it was not her idea to come here in the slightest, it was definitely her duty to accompany her sister in this process, and she was definitely enlivened to do so. "Sissy, I'm so excited! I will be able to make more fwiends, and since it's so cold here my chocolate won't melt in my pockets!" the Lady of the Fire exclaimed in happiness before taking a big bite out of her chocolate bar, her hair gusting greatly with the wind and causing her horns to twinkle under the moonlight. If one would hear her verbiage they would doubt her for being a child; her voice was high pitched enough to pass as one, along with her accent within. It was quite ironic; while she was definitely not as intelligent as her twin sister, she was much more advanced in her worship of the elder dragon of fire and smoke, Hinata. However, it was not documented between them nor held by a competition how advanced they were in worship aside from their changes of their human bodies; they were both extremely close in their faiths and skilled in being priestesses. Cradling their katanas that channeled the elements and energy of their elder dragons, the twins slowly advanced up the trails leading to the fortress among the top of the ranges, vulnerable yet ready to defend themselves if attacked by hostile individuals of the mountain that held ill intentions against them.

As the two approached the top, finally feeling the earth even out the slightest bit just in time to loom the front of the mountain fortress over them like a strict catholic school teacher. For all the austerity it vibed in structure, it bled chaotic energy...in the form of a quite plastered guild member flailing in the snow outside the heavy door in only a pair of black pants. The door itself was still cracked open, unsual given the occupants' general hoarding of heat. Inside a rowdy crowd could be heard from within the tavern, a party still in the early hours saturated by the roars of laughter and intoxication. It was only midnight, after all.

    "Oh my god."

It seemed the man managed to stagger up from his unintentional snow angel, sauntering into the path as if he hadn't just been rolling around in the frozen rain in bare skin. He didn't seem to feel the cold either, probably just that hammered. If anything, his creamy flesh was blushed beautifully with a soft rose, complimenting the lavender locks snowflakes danced in on his head. He was Basilisk Fang's resident Poster Boy, whatever that was, Iris. And, like usual, he had a bottle of honey liquid clutched in one hand like it was a part of his body. Despite what Aeluri said, he preferred to have his own bottle of booze to drink straight from. That way he didn't have to share, nor did he have to keep track of a glass. Practicality.

"Ladies!" he grinned, tilting his head slightly as he listed ever so slightly to the left upon approach. He was getting too close, but how else could he examine both of their eyes with his own bleary ones from so far away? Oh, and what nice peepers they were! Two perfect pairs, two a shadow purple like his own, while the others were day sunshine and oozing joy. Reluctantly his eyes trailed away from the object of his thirst to their horns and fabulous garments. It was thrilling to see a creature so beautiful, let alone a pair of them! He approved! Given their general appearances, he was certain they were teeming with lovely magical properties... "As a reward for getting up that nasty mountain, you win a trip inside the hall. Please, bring your lovely peepers on in~"

Warmth settled in Aeluri’s stomach and soared through her veins as the most recent sip of whiskey was downed. A steady buzz was the level the mage had arrived at so far, and it was only midnight. Around the warm room, guildmates sipped their drinks and chatted, played games, or argued over this and that. The mage with black hair was no different as the liquid that was consumed dissolved her strict emotional control, leaving her as rowdy and happy as the rest. A typical night in the tavern, it seemed. Aeluri downed the rest of her drink and refocused on the card game she was playing with Sonya. Her foreign teammate had all sorts of tricks up her sleeve, and Aeluri couldn’t let her eyes of crimson and honey stray away from the game. Any slip up could add yet another loss to a sizable record from just that night. Despite her usual cleverness, the mage was really bad at card games.

After her 23rd loss and a playful argument with Sonya, Aeluri realized their other teammate’s presence was absent. Usually Iris was lounging with a bottle in his hand, something that still irked the young woman. Mismatched eyes searched the room yet did not find their target, but focused on the slightly ajar door. Darkness loomed through the small opening and snowflakes snaked across the floor with a passing breeze. She decided that she ought to search for Iris and bring him back so that he could beat Sonya at her own game. Excusing herself from the card-covered table - and perhaps saving herself the shame of another loss - she headed towards the opening to check if her violet-locked teammate had ventured into the snowy night. Death by drunkenly freezing in the moonlight was not the most desirable way to go, though the thought of using the frozen man as a decorative sculpture set Aeluri into a fit of inebriated giggles.

As she stepped through the entryway, a slick patch of ice on the step went unnoticed. She took one step and with a dramatic slide, Aeluri was sent deep into a nearby snow drift. Letting out a groan, she sat up in the middle of the fluffy white, body aching from the fall. The moonlight bathed the mountaintop in a silvery glow, setting alight the smooth, snowy landscape. Cold air bit at exposed skin, and the mage could see her breath in the illuminated night. Aeluri’s cheeks had taken on a scarlet flush, but it was impossible to tell whether that was from the snowy impact or from noticing her shirtless teammate nearby. “Iris, come play cards with Sonya and I, she keeps bea-,” the words trailed off into the chilly air as she noticed the two females in front of them. “Oh, hello there!” she addressed them, observing their unique appearances. Elegant kimonos, deadly katanas, and… horns? How intriguing. They must be inquiring about the guild, she thought while glancing between the two.

“All of you, come inside! It’s too cold out here to just stand around unless you consider yourself an ice sculpture.” The recurring thought of Iris as an icy decoration made her stifle laughter. Beckoning her teammate and the newcomers with a pale hand, she rose from the drift into which she had fallen, dusting the snow off of her clothing. "Welcome to the home of Basilisk Fang," she began as she led the group inside. "Are you wishing to join the guild?"

    Sonya Phacelia

words: ###. tag: @username. notes: blablah.
She was surrounded by idiots. This card game wasn't even that difficult. Sure, it was a Napedian tradition and she had been taught how to play and cheat effectively, but surely it wasn't that difficult to catch on to her antics. By the 24th game, she was just trying to lose to give her teammate some sort of satisfaction. But it seemed that this game would be cut short, as the raven haired woman stepped away, deciding it would be better to forfeit than lose another game. She couldn't blame her, though. Losing at a silly Napedian card game was quite pitiful. Deciding it would be more interesting to follow, Sonya rose from her seat, pushing her chair into the table neatly before heading to the door to grab her cloak. There was no way she was going out into that nasty cold weather without it. Plus there was always that possibility that a stranger would approach, and the blue haired woman wasn't going to risk being identified.

Situating the cloak atop her head neatly, the young woman reached her hand towards the door, only to be interrupted by a strange sliding and crashing noise. It was quite slippery out there, so it wasn't uncommon for someone to take a not-so-graceful fall into the snow. Letting out an exasperated sigh, Sonya hurried out the door, rushing towards her teammate and kneeling down beside her. Just as she was about to address her, she noticed that Aeluri was directing her attention towards someone else. As she looked up, Sonya's eyes widened, noticing that the people she had been talking to were strangers. Not only were they strangers, but they were quite interesting indeed. Horns grew from their foreheads, and katanas hung from their sides. Were they here on a friendly note, as Aeluri had asked, or were they here for other, more sinister reasons. "What a kind introduction from you, Aeluri. I only wish I had received such kind words from you on my first day here." Sonya sassed, her Napedian accent smoothing over her sarcastic words. "As for you two, what is your purpose here? I would love for there to be pleasantries, but first I must know if you have ill intentions towards us."
