Nessa's tale.

The Tale of Cordelia & Antoinette

Once upon a time there were two young girls, they were twins. But they didn't look alike one had green eyes, the other black. They both had long white hair that flowed all the way down and both were very pretty. They were both born with extraordinary magical power, Cordelia was born with magical light that could heal and Antionette's magical light that could harm. Together they were a formidable pair, who did everything together, as time went on they grew strong. So strong that they didn't need each other anymore. Antoinette wanted to join to remain guildless and become stronger on her own, the other wanted to join a guild and save people. So the girls went their separate ways.

Antionette became very strong, revered even, people went to her regularly to fight off monster or their enemies. One day, she was asked to go on a mission that meant going up against a dark guild. So she did, and during battle whom did she find, but none other than her sister. Healing the members of the dark guild. She was furious, she couldn't believe her sister would help people like that. Her sister insisted that they needed her, that without her things would be much worse. The fighting girl left the battle, and called off the mission.

Many years passed, Antoinette met a man and fell in love. Before she knew it she was pregnant with-child, however things with the man didn't work out. He left her during her third trimester, she had no one. It was only when she went into labour, trapped in her home, unable to call for help. Her sister burst through the door, without a word, Cordelia helped her give birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy. Afterwards, the sisters caught up, they had been estranged for so long. Cordelia told Antionette that she too had met a man and fallen in love, and had a daughter herself. Antoinette was shocked to hear this, but glad her sister was back in her life. Cordelia had given up working for the dark guild and just wanted to live a quiet life.

More time went on, and for quite a few years life was peaceful. Cordelia's daughter was fourteen years of age, that dark time seemed far behind her. Until, one day their village was attacked, houses were burning, people were screaming. Cordelia's husband was away travelling at the time, so the sisters and the children were alone. The sisters stepped out into the fray, only to discover it was Cordelia's old guild attacking the town. Making the children hide in the house, the two sisters went out as the kids watched from the window. Holding eachother tightly as their mothers fought to protect them.

Together they battled the guild, throwing everything they could, but it didn't seem to have much affect. Fighting individually it seemed they were losing. Alone they could not defeat their foes, on the brink of loss, the girls came together and combined their spells. Together they created a magic so powerful all the enemies were defeated in an instant. And the village was saved, as were their children.

Alas Cordelia had received wounds too deep, she collapsed immediately after. It turned out she had used so much magic that she couldn't heal herself. All the doctors in the village had already evacuated upon the attack. Antoinette did her best to patch her up, sending word for someone to come quick. But no one came. Her husband arrived home in the early hours of the morning. Seeing the state of the wrecked village, he ran to his families side. His wife barely clinging on to her last breath.


Within less than an hour of her husbands return, Cordelia passed away, her light forever extinguished from her bright green eyes.  

Nessa & Rex

Nessa life had been pretty up until the year her mum died, she had a happy childhood, oblivious to the darkness of the world. Her family treated her well, and maybe that's why she didn't see it coming. Her mums passing, following two years later by her first betrayal. The first and only time she'd allowed her heart to be broken at the sweet age of sixteen. Her trust in someone lost completely.

He was in her a class at school, always at eye on her, to which she was unaware. She would give him friendly smiles and polite hellos. Her dense nature oblivious to the fact her liked her. Rex was quite an attractive boy, a little slow but nice enough. He had black hair and bright eyes and was popular in class. Nessa was also popular so they go on well. He had tried many times to flirt with her, only to have it go over her head. She was clueless about love and didn't know how to see it.

Until he decided enough was enough, he gave her a letter to meet her after school. She did so, and it was then that he confessed. Clearly and concisely, so she couldn't misunderstand. When she learned that he liked her, she was flushed, she had had crushes but never been the recipient of one, that she knew of at least. She had asked him for some time, and as time went by she realised she did like Rex. He was handsome and kind. So she had accepted his request to date and the two of them started their relationship. It was a pleasant coupling, exactly as Ness imagine it would be. Going on dates, having lunch together at school, even graduating their class together. The night of which produced her very first kiss at their graduation party. It was nice, not as magical as she had expected, but that was okay right.


Three months passed, she had introduced him to her family, which hadn't gone down well at all. Her aunt and father had taken an instant disliking to Rex and had told Nessa she didn't want her seeing him. For what reasons she couldn't understand. She couldn't see the looks he gave her, the way he leered, the way his spoke. She was clueless, they were not.


For the first time in her life, she had ignored her family's word and continued to date Rex. What she didn't realise was how much of a mistake that was. One day following their four month anniversary, he had taken her out on a lavish date. The had gone to a lake and taken a boat ride. The day was beautiful and they lay in the boat together, staring at the clouds. After a while Nessa became so relaxed, she began to drift off. That was her first mistake.

She woke up to feeling of a cool breeze on her bare skin, her stomach was cold, which made no sense as she was fully dressed. She opened her eyes looking down, only to realise, her top had bee lifted to expose her bra, and her skirt had been taken over and chucked to the side. She was lying there underwear exposed, and Rex was kneeling over her unbuckling his belt.
"What the hell are you doing!" She yelled, pulling her top down to cover her chest and stomach. He smiled down at her with a perverse gaze.

"Nessie baby, it's been so long. I've been real patient but I have needs." he leaned down to kiss her, but she pushed him away. His perverse looks turned to anger, he grabbed her arms, and proceeded to pin her down. "Look it's been four months Nessie, we're teenagers, it's natural. I've been good to you, you owe me this." She struggling against him as he tried to hold her arms above her head with one hand and continued to work as his trousers. Tears streaming down her face, she couldn't believe it she had really grown to care for Rex, even to go as far to believe she was falling for him. How could he do this to her. It was then her body began to glow. The starlight burst forward, coating her skin and burning Rex's fingers. He recoiled, falling back, cursing at her. She looked down, realising what was happening. This was Starlight Shield, it was a spell she had been working on for a while but hadn't quite managed to perfect. Yet there it was in full glory, protecting her. She stood up, grabbing at her skirt, she pulled it on. Rex got to his feet, "Oh no you don't." He leaped at her once more, but was bounced off by the spell falling out of the boat into the water.


Taking her chance, Nessa began to row her way back to the shore. Rex attempted to swim after her but was too slow to catch up. She jumped onto the bank and ran hoe, tears streaming down her face as she did. When she got home she didn't tell her family what had happened. Eventually as time went by she admitted that they were over but due to personal differences. She never told them what he tried to do, that was until a letter came through the post.


Her aunt picked u the letter and handed it to Nessa, it was addressed to her alone, and she recognised Rex's handwriting. She rush to her room and opened it, only to find a collection of photos of her, lying asleep in her underwear. Taken that day on the boat, Nessa began to cry. She couldn't believe it, she turned the photos to find a message scrawled on the back of one.

Don't tell.


It was an obvious threat, she sat their crying, photos before her, unsure what to do. It was then that Antoinette's burst through the door, having her Nessa's sobbing from outside of the room. It was too late to hide them, she spotted the pictures straight away, Antoinette shut the door behind her and sat on the bed. Her face blank as she read the words, before she finaly spoke.

"I won't tell your father, but you need to help me understand what happened." Nessa gulped, she didn't want to, but she knew it was the best course of action. She told her Aunty was happened, and her aunt listened. At the end of her explanation, Antoinette wrapped Nessa in her arms. "Don't worry pettle, I'll fix it." She said, and with a menacing look she burned the photos with her starlight magic before turning and walking out.

Nessa knew Rex wasn't dead, but whatever her aunty had done had forced him and his family to move away. Not before issuing Nessa an apology. Somehow they had managed to keep the whole thing a secret from her father, although he knew Rex had broken Nessa's heart and that was enough for him to hate the boy. If he knew the truth, Nessa couldn't fathom what he would do.

It was from them on Nessa's decided not to date, she had trusted Rex and he had broken her heart. From then on her focus would be friends only, when she was ready to love, that time would come. But for now her guard would forever be up, over her heart.
