The mail service in Fiore must be the absolute worst. Seriously, and she wasn't saying that just to sound like an asshole, it must be seriously messed up if she was able to get her hands on such an important letter that wasn't her's. At first noticing the address upon the envelope was indeed wrong Inari was planning to throw it away and blame it on the mailman's bad eyes, not even feeling the slightest pressure to find the right house and return it. It was simply too much work, and though she wasn't exactly a full dark mage she was still not quite a legal mage either. Not anymore anyway. But curiosity soon grabbed the undead teen and refused to let go. Such fancy writing, a sweet scent of perfume, and a red candle wax seal to match. It reminded her of the types of letters she wrote back in the day, and the nostalgia hit her hard. Well the letter was now her's, and since it would never reach it's sender now she might as well look in. Not that it would really end up doing anything for her, but it might be a good read anyway.
After a bit of reading it turned out she did in fact recognize the name, like she had first thought. It was not her own family, but rather an affiliate. The Shirotaiyo family. The storm mage had never really been close to them personally, as she died before she really got the chance to. But the heir was rather close to her father, and would often times visit their property to discuss business matters. She at least recognized the name, if not for that then their equal fame to her own family. Her and the heir's daughter were said to both be prodigies in their own rights, equals. And in some aspects, rivals. It was funny, having a rival without even meeting them first. It was funny how her father could be such good friends but also be enemies with them. It was confusing to Inari when she was younger, she didn't see why her old man couldn't just call them enemies if that's what they actually were, instead of lying and saying they were friends when they were clearly the competition. It was completely contradictory.

The letter said something about a young noble in their family having a bad attitude since her mother died, so they called for legal mages to escort her to this banquet in hopes of cheering her up. Inari couldn't help but think the young mother who died was actually the so called rival she had in her youth. Call it a hunch, or the painfully obvious references to her name in the letter without calling too much attention to it.
Normally? Inari would have thrown this letter away and forgotten about this. At least if it was another family But the Shirotaiyo family... Her rivals. One of the main reasons she focused so much on growing her powers, in hopes that one day she could top them... This gave the woman an idea...

... Getting into the banquet was not hard, especially since apparently some of her descendants were attending this very same one. Not that she would search them out, that would be idiotic. All she needed to do was flash her last name and show up with a bunch of expensive clothing (which she had honestly just taken from Naomi's endless closet) and she was granted access.
She could remember back when she was forced to attend these too, to promote her family's name. Granted, all she did was stay against the wall and look emotionless and usual, and sucked down her annoyance. But she could at least relate to the Shirotaiyo noble on not wanting to be here, spotting her clear across the room due to her dark and overall angry expression upon her features. It wasn't hard to pick out among the crowd. But that was pretty much where her sympathy ended. At least the Kurotsuki family actually sucked up their feelings long enough to save the family's face. If this sort of bratty attitude was acceptable in this once noble family, well it was a shame to see how low they had dropped.
It was time to do what she was bred for.
Nonchalantly the zombie girl picked up a glass of punch, and made her way across the large ballroom where the girl was standing. She laid her back against the all next to her, and swirled the glass, looking out into the crowds on talking people.
"Were you were forced to be here too?" Inari would ask, trying to relate to the girl on some level using her voice and speech pattern.
    The noble snorted.

"Who wasn't? Our fathers don't care about our feelings, they just want to show us off to the others like some sort of prized pig at the county fair." Inari was slightly amused at the girl's comeback. So much bitterness and anger radiated off her words. She acted less like a noble and more like a hoodlum. Didn't she know that was basically the point of these gatherings? That was the point, to scare the other families.

"I think pigs are the wrong animal. More like wolves. The point is to scare the others, not show off how enlarged you have become." At this point Inari allowed a box cutter to slide down her arms, in which she caught it with her hand. She pushed the button up with her thumb, released the sharp blade from within. The noble girl's eyes widened, and her dark expression was replaced with both awe and surprise.

"H... How did you get that in here??" She breathed out. Inari clicked her tongue, and waved a dismissive finger, a small smirk curving onto her lips.

"A wolf never reveals her secrets" Inari would offer the box cutter forward towards the girl. "But she is willing to share them." The Shirotaiyo member hesitated at first, but then eventually went to take it from Inari with a shaking and nervous hand. Though before she could, the zombie would retract her arm. The noble was caught off guard by this, and looked back up to the dark haired girl.

"What's the deal? Are you giving it to me or not?"

"I only give to those who are actually determined to act upon their actions, to those who know what they are doing."

    "I know what i'm doing!"

"Are you sure? You were shaking, and hesitated. Hesitation implies you are unsure of your thoughts, and shaking implies nerves."

"I said i know what i'm doing! I'm killing the bastard who killed my mother!" The noble snatched the box cutter from Inari's hand. Inari was completely capable of resisting her snatch, but she did not such thing. She allowed the girl to take the box cutter. Her job here was done. She had fueled her anger.

Inari had taken her leave shortly after that, just as the heat began to raise. As she left, she heard a scream, followed by the sound of a body hitting the floor. Then another scream, then a shout, and a cry.
She did not know what exactly happened, but from what she guessed she wouldn't be hearing anything about the Shirotaiyo family for a while Well, at least not anything good.
