    OVERVIEW x x x x x

On the outskirts of the old Spooky Forest rests a town that looks long-forgotten, buildings broken and rundown from time, itself. From a frontal view, the town looks desolate, like it has not been touched by human civilization in centuries since its creation. Creaky, leafless trees wave their branches endless in the breeze that seemingly never leaves the place as it passes through. Crippled and browned grass dances with the steps of the wind, their rotted blades aching as they reach up toward it. The gentle groan of the wood of various buildings moaning into the bones of the wind as it weaves itself through them. Essentially a ghost town, this tiny place has not been long-forgotten as it may looks, but is inhabited by other beings. Creatures that typically roam during the night and can be heard howling and crying out the songs of their people to the moon's bright light.

To the left the little town is a brook, chattering and splashing up at its walls as though the water wishes to be free. It has a little path along its innards that allows for those to cross over it with easy, but watch out, as the stones here are slippery devils. On some occasions, the brook may rise in weight and flood the little town of Darkwell, but will eventually recede over time. However, in despite of the cold and haunting look of the brook, even fish are able to swim here and call it home. The situational call of the toad or frog may emit in the air and spook any passersby, but otherwise is a silent place. Not even the birds that make themselves home in the buildings of the old town make a peep during the daylight. But the gentle hoot of a night owl calls out from time to time, a haunting song over the dead life of the place.

A winding, cobblestone road starts from the town and weaves itself into the depths of Spooky Forest, ever on and on. It leads out both ways, from the forest toward Blue Pegasus and out of the back of the town to the Raging Volcano and even Inferno Tower. Through the forest is a wicked walk, listening to the howls of unknown creatures, and never a light source to be seen. Creaks of branches in the wind as it passes through and the rustle of bushes as things walk through them to other places. One will always feel as if they're being followed by something, but find it futile to stop and look each time. Never walk alone in the Spooky Forest, or one may never come out alive from the place they had whence entered from. But by the volcano and through the mountains, this is nothing more than the soft rumble of the earth and the threatening of an explosion.

The town, itself, is eerily guarded, by creatures that aren't typically seen by the naked eye, but can be felt around one's self. And walking deeper into this tiny town, one will begin to see just how desolate of a place this happens to be. Each and every building is rundown, from having holes in their walls to caving in roofs or broken steps and railings. Even the old stores have broken windows, as though the ones that were left behind had robbed the places of everything they owned. Paint chips and easily peels off the buildings, leaving the wooden structure behind as the only thing left of the buildings. Infested with insects, all of which feed off the wood and are slowly tearing down the buildings one by one. A broken down well at the very center of the town, its pail hanging loosely on a strand of rope ready to snap.

But the most haunting of the town is the massive graveyard that can be found just at the back of the small living space. Tombstones litter the eerily green, fenced in yard, covered in moss or looking as if they were freshly placed there. Even lumps of dirt that have been occasionally churned, as though someone had just recently been buried in the ground. The skitter of rats as they crawl over the stones, or the yowl of a black cat as it dashes across the graveyard. However, this eerie place only gets eerier as the day draws on and turns into night, when the real beasts come out. Where the hands crawl out from the graves and undead monsters come out to have a little fun before the sunrise again. Moans and groans as they meander around the town, as though the place was their own once before its desolation.

And just beyond the tombstones that litter this strangely massive graveyard is an old crypt that looks oddly brand new. Its gated doors are closed, locked by a chain that wraps around the two bars that are nearest to each other, with a large lock hanging off it. It stands alone in this graveyard, the only crypt in the fenced in place, making curious those who enter the dead's resting place. In this yard, though, stands a lonesome willow tree, its soft, green leaves consistently dancing with the movements of the wind. Though its leaves are inanimate, it is believed by many that this tree is living with the way its limbs move and reach longingly toward the crypt. It is as though this tree is the caretaker of the building, cleaning off the dust that may collect on it with its leaves. Not even bits of moss seem to mar this strange building that lies deep within the confines of the ghost town.
