“Huh, they’re just giving something like that out?” Siennah smoothed a few strands of black hair away from her face.

“That sounds kind of suspicious to me. Haven’t you heard that if you can get something is free that you’re what’s for sale?” the petite woman said.

The barkeeper laughed, “My, you’re so suspicious! Although, I suppose it is curious that the manufacturer would give away something so nice for free.”

Siennah sighed and dug out a few notes from her purse to pay for her meal and drink. It was quiet. There wasn’t much in the way of guild activity at Lamia Scale or in the way of work. But, maybe if Siennah got that silly device then she’d be able to get into contact with someone. Or at least have someone to send messages to when she was lonely.

    Crapbaskets.

W-well. The petite wizard shoved her hands into her pockets. It wasn't like Siennah had anything to hide. So even if the iLac was aggregating data on subjects like wizard locations, their usual hangouts, and similar topics it didn’t matter! That’s right. The dark haired wizard told herself these things and a set of similar others all the way to neutral grounds. All the way to the store.

A bright sign with flashy images of the iLac painted on it took up the store window. In front of it, there were various iLac models held by mannequins in stylish clothing. All the glitz was…dazzling. It was almost like looking at water flashing in the sun, and Siennah felt the urge to step back.

When Siennah finally made her way inside, it was twice the shine as the display window. But, before she knew it, the mage was already being shown several different iLac models by a sales woman with a permanent smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

Apparently all of the iLacs came in different colors these days, since there was a demand for such a thing these days. After all, just because something was useful didn’t mean that it shouldn't look good too, right? Right? Siennah found herself almost shrinking under the shop staff’s aggression. The sales women must have held up a dozen different colored lacrima to Siennah’s face, judging the color complement.

Oh, but she couldn’t just get the iLac. There were so many accessories to get, as well! Naturally, the accessories weren’t free, of course…

Siennah made a face like someone had personally eaten all of the cake she was saving for later, and left her a rude note in the refrigerator. Maybe Siennah was gentle by nature, and maybe she had more patience than more hotheaded wizards. But, she had just reached a limit that she didn’t know she had. The woman’s lips drew out into a thin line, and the saleswoman paused.

“No. But, thank you. I will just take this,” Siennah’s voice somehow reminded the sales woman of her own mother’s high heel shoes clacking on the hardwood floor when the saleswoman knew she had done something wrong and she was just about to get scolded.

A small bead of sweat glided down the saleswoman’s neck and she took a step back out of shock.

“O-of course, ma’am. Please have a good day, ma’am,” the saleswoman tried to force a smile back on her face.

“You as well,” Siennah’s gentle smile returned to her face as she received a pearly white colored iLac, and then left.
