It's Just Another Day;; Private

Jiyu felt the old now rather yellowed paper between her long slender finger's, sighing as she ran the tip of her nail over it once more. By now? She had to have traced the package over a thousand times, all in the decade between her seventh year and now. However right now, all she could do was touch it, wondering if it was time yet, if she was worthy to open the small envelope and deciding she just had no way to know right now. Someday? She knew there would be some moment, the exact time she knew that she had to open it, whether that would be when she did something magically fantastic or dropped out, that Kaze did not know yet. However? Whatever was within the envelope was important enough to her life, that her mother alongside ensuring her daughter could learn magic, had stashed this away in that same book before the fire.

That fire got more suspicious in her head every year, a guest did not just light your house on fire by burning toast.

"Not today." and with that, she took out a brown leather skinned book, only maybe about 100 pages thick at most, her pale finger undoing the string tied around a button on the front, keeping it closed. Once it was open? She flipped to the back and tucked the envelope in the pouch it was always stored in, looking at the To Jiyu, From Mother. one more time before slipping it the whole way in and closing the book, rebinding it shut. "Some day but not today."

While she did not like reading? The book she held was one of her prized possessions and was actually mostly a picture book if anything. She was a mage in a guild now, so she figured more practice in her magic was needed "Maybe I'll start carrying you with me again." she tapped her finger against the binding, closing the door to her room as she exited, knowing she had to get her day started. Maybe she'd find a way to help around the guild today since she was still relatively new?

For some reason other people having pets annoyed her sometimes, mostly because she had not ever gotten the chance to have one herself. The village she'd grown up in? Was not the richest or most devloped area in the world, and thus most people did not own fully domestic pets but working animals or barn cats. Jiyu had only learned pets were a thing when she ran away at fifteen and started to see the world, she still did not get the point of people wanting constant campions anymore. Heck part of the reason she ran away was that she wanted to be left alone, stop being pitied as the 'motherless' girl on the village.

With her book beneath her arm she opened thte door to the room she'd been in, stepping through and closing it carefully behind her, one hand llifting to ruffle the back of her messy hair, yawnig. "}Huh?" and her head turned to see the other girl who looked about her age.

Normally, well actually just on occassion when whatever ability it was that she had decided to work well? Jiyu would have smelled the other long before she was heard by someone else, and avoided them. Despite how much Kazehime played with people once she encountered them, in all actuality she'd just rather avoid dealing with anyone else who was just as warm blooded and alive as she. Being all alone? Was much better than loving someone so dearly, and than loosing them, growing close to other's was not worth it in the end.

It sounded strange to have someone question how new another was, and state that they themsleves were new! In Jiyu's opinion? It was better to just ask for an intro, her pale fingers lifting to play with the hem of her unbottomed sweater hanging near the guild mark on her stomach. "Jiyu Kazehime."
