Alyia and Heero [Job - Sonata of Memories]

Preparing to take to the field Simon sprung high into the air, his jump launching him 35 meters in the air. He stomped on the air and suddenly he was still in air neither rising or falling, just floating above the city. From there he scouted the lay of the city. It looked far too peaceful for a city apparently dealing with mutated angel creatures. After half a second of searching he noticed a girl carrying a magic-looking scythe weapon in the middle of town, he squinted to get a better look and mentally recalled descriptions he had heard of Alyia in the past; he ultimately decided that it was likely enough that she was Alyia. But where was Heero? He's normally a hard guy to miss. Simon took another glance around trying to find the beefcake wizard, he couldn't locate Heero but instead he found a cloaked figure standing on a roof. Not suspicious at all. The figure hadn't seemed to notice Simon somehow and was intently watching Alyia below.

Which was kinda creepy.

Simon decided to investigate just a handful more of the angel creatures came marching out of nearby buildings towards Alyia. Moving to help Simon started running on air towards Alyia, but he didn't get very far as apparently the cloaked figure had in fact noticed Simon. He had hardly taken two steps when the illusionist appeared right in his path, at this time Simon was able to notice his mask to complete his already creepy garb, but there was little time for fashion critique. For as soon as he appeared the illusionist waved his hand in front of Simon's face and suddenly everything was dark. Simon remained frozen up in the sky while the masked mage turned around and set its sights on Alyia.

Simon looked around in the dark, very confused as to what had just happened. He was very clearly in a different place but he couldn't tell anything about it. He held his hand above his head and willed it to turn into lava. Light flooded the space to reveal Simon surrounded by failed experiments, "Oh okay this is just swell." He appeared now to be within a tunnel of glass, just barely three people wide with an uncomfortably low ceiling. Beyond the glass seemed only to be the void. On either side of the tunnel the failed experiments were swarming towards Simon upon the appearance of the new light. Simon's other hand curled into a fist and much like the other transformed into magma, he positioned himself lengthwise down the tunnel pointing on fist in either direction. He looked back and forth between the sides of the tunnel, "Come and get me creeps! I'll put the dead back in undead!" Then they were upon him.

'Monster Dice' :

Red apples from the stands on the sides of the street shone with the light of the sun's reflection. They seemed glossy to the eye, nearly perfect. But Alyia was sure that they would taste just as bland as the rest of the town. A near perfection only to cover up the bland and distastefulness of a fake. But no matter the knowledge of them being fake it did not stall the temptation. Making her way over to the stalls the Angel slowly reach out and picked an Apple out. She could feel the imperfections on it's skin and she lifted it to her nose. The sweet aroma of what could have once been a fruit hit her nose and the Angel hummed in contentment. She hated to say it but the moment that her companion had left things seemed to no longer be a rush of events. She could enjoy her home town in its old glory, though yes it was horrific that someone would remake a town that had burned down, it was also her home. She wanted to relive it once more. The lightness of the main street and in its center the trees and the flowers that would decorate it.

However Alyia knew that she was not alone. She could sense a magic that had been starting to follow her for a while. It was much like that of an mind magic. But of which one the Angel could not tell. But that was no longer the only magic she could feel. Another magic approaching from the sides. But this one seemed less notorious.

Her hand slowly placed the Apple back into the crate, leaving it alone with the other fake apples. She needed to act as ignorant as she possibly could. Her magic was cancelled out because of the opposite energies leaving her magic sense like that of a D-Rank mage. Alyia could remember the taste of those apples, the sweet nectar of them, the way the taste seemed to melt on her tongue. She needed to be as oblivious as possible. But the moment that the two magics from earlier seemed to colide Alyia spun around to look. A hooded figure and another male facing each other. Blue orbs widened and the Angel stood shocked for a moment before turning on her heel and running into the crowds of the town. It was true that she was simply easy to spot 29th her short stature and her elongated hair be it only made her harder to catch.

Her blonde hair followed her after every turn and the Angel knew that the hooded man from before was following her, close on her tail.

Person by person she passed until she spun a corner and in front of her were two of the zombie angels. One seemed to be failed and the other a success but Alyia had not time to deal with them before she spun around only to face the hooded mage. She peered at him and her eyes narrowed before all she saw was blackness.

Simon grit his teeth as he prepared to lava-fu his way out of the mess of angel creatures. That was until they went up in smoke. His head spun around as he looked for where they'd gone, "Wait hold on what?" The hallway was empty, and still shrouded in darkness now just empty. A voice echoed through the dark, "You seem... Disappointed?" Simon tried to follow the voice but it didn't seem to have an origin. He waved his light at the dark in frustration, "What's that supposed to mean? Where are you? Did you put me in here? Come out and fight!"

He did not sign up for cheesy mind game bull, he wanted to fight zombies. The voice came again, "What kind of person is disappointed about NOT being attacked by monsters?" Simon flipped of the darkness with middle fingers of flame as he shouted at it, "The kind who will put you in the ground here in just a minute!" The darkness seemed unfazed by the vulgar gesture and continued to just sit there. "I could do this all day boy. I will make you see you as I see you. The arrogant, loud, snot nosed brat that you are. I can see into your mind, I see its weakness and faults, I will exploit them all. You will break. You cannot fight this."

Simon laughed at the void, "Yeah yeah keep it coming. I can already tell your faking this. Because I don't have mental faults!" He stomped on the glass floor creating a hollow thump. Simon grinned ear to ear, he felt for lava below him, it seemed the ground was 30 meters away. "I'm still in the air! My stomping sounded like that because I'm standing on air not on glass!" Seeing his chance to escape Simon quickly devised a plan to escape whatever mental effect he was under. He stopped using his white walk ability, and sure enough fell, falling out of the illusion. He landed on the street below where he had been flying before. Quite pleased with himself he started towards where he last saw Alyia until the masked illusionist grabbed his head from behind. Simon cussed and just like that was back in the illusionist's spell.

He stumbled into the dark again. There was something different about this one the first thing he noticed was that there was someone else in there with him. He called out into the nothing, "Yo anyone there? And I'm not talking to you stupid disembodied voice guy!" Simon got the feeling this was going to be an annoying battle, the illusionist could just hang around their bodies to throw them right back in the second they broke out. From his perspective it looked like he'd have to take the brute force method, as in just smashing through mental trick after mental trick until the other guy ran out of juice. Which was fun but tiring.

There was nothing around her but darkness. Every corner, every crack, but she wasn't there alone. She knew the mage that had put her there was always with her.  He wasn't just a mind mage now, now Alyia knew what he was. An illusionist mage. Images formed in your own head, viewed from your own eyes, but not really there. She could feel his presence through the darkness though she could not see him. He was over bearing, watching her every move, seeing what she would do next. But she could not feel him in her own mind. That was hers still. She had her own thoughts and the hooded mage couldn't see them. A sly smile pulled at her lips. She, now, had an upper hand in the situation. He could set things up for her but all she would have to do is get out of them.

Blue orbs flickered around, however other than the hooded figure that was eminent in the area around her she was the only one. "SOME LIGHT WOULD BE NICE YOU A**HOLE!" The Angel could hear the chuckling from the man who controlled her illusion and a dim light flooded the place where she was. A low growl escaped her lips and the Angel began to move forwards. There was light, yes, but there was not always enough to see properly.

Alyia had been placed in a room with a single entrance, meaning only one way out. Taking in a deep breath the blonde made her way over to the door, she didn't know what was going to be behind the door but she knew that she would have to push forwards in order to get anywhere. One foot in front of the other the young woman pushed forwards to the door and placed a single hand on it before turning the knob and sliding it open. There seemed to be nothing on. The first reaction of the door, Alyia figured it was safe to open. Pushing the rest of the door open the Angel moved out into the next room. Once again it was the same lighting from the room that she had just been in. She could see shapes and the likes, just enough to know what not to run into, but not enough to know what they were. Yet this didn't stop the Angel as she pushed forward into the room she could see the door on the other side and she knew that she could make it. But that was not the only door. On the right hand side of the room another door stood. Alyia's eyes flickered from one to the other before she made her way over to the door on the right. Her hands presses against the door and she softly pushed it open. It was pitch black inside, not a thing to see but she knew that there was someone in the room other than herself. "Hello?" Her melodic voice slipped from her lips.

Simon heard something like a door opening, to which he responded by spinning around and facing where he thought the sound had come from. His arms instinctively flew out to either side in a motion identical to that used to transform into his phoenix form, the second he realized what he was doing he lowered his arms feeling embarrassed; for that was a power he no longer had. His moment of self depreciation passed when Alyia spoke up breaking the silence. Wanting to see who he was talking too he raised one hand up and willed it to turn to magma flooding the room in an orange light. Simon let out a sigh of relief now that he could see Alyia had been the one to enter, "Oh hey. You're Alyia right? We haven't met in person but I've heard of you, you've probably heard of me right? Simon? The Ex-Wizard Saint? I was also Guild Master of Fairy Tail for a little bit? Probably ringing a bell isn't it?"

After introducing himself Simon looked around at the newly illuminated space to see where the illusionist had put them now. He accidentally let out a breath when he realized where they were. The door Alyia had just stepped through was the front door to a small house in a line of houses that Simon recognized immediately even in the orange light. He spun around and sure enough he was looking across a small river to see a similar row of houses on the opposite side, "This is that one street in Magnolia! You know the one that intersects main steet." His range of site was limited but it was quite clear this was the long street that cut across the middle of Magnolia town. He couldn't see that far but he was certain if they continued just a few meters they'd see the bridge that crossed the river connecting the main street of Magnolia. Having not been back to the town in a while he got a bit nostalgic, "If we just follow this way we can cross the bridge and go straight to Fairy Tail! Or if we turn the other way at the bridge it should connect to Cardia Cathedral."

He looked back at Alyia, "Hey wasn't Eclipse Soul's old headquarters near-ish here too? That was your first guild wasn't it?" Simon slowed down for a tick as he continued to swivel his head in every direction, "I wonder what we're doing here... I could have sworn these mind mage types try and show you the things we most fear and what not? I can only think of good memories here..." He tried to work it out in his head, but his impress of Magnolia Town was overwhelmingly positive. Nothing bad ever happened in Magnolia right?

A sudden light flooded the room that Alyia had entered, she could remember the sound of panic of someone as she opened the door and now that the room was lit up she saw a male there, standing, his arm the source of the light. Blue orbs looked over the male for a second before he began to start talking. He knew of her? How was that? She might have been a Rising Star, but that was quite a while ago. The blonde's head tilted to the side as she listened to him talk. It seemed as though he was just talking, maybe not to her, but just to hear himself talk. She didn't know him, she had never heard of him, the angel had stayed away from many politics since the end of Eclipse Soul. Her eyes stared blankly at the man before a sigh escaped her lips and she rolled her eyes, pretending that she knew who he was. It was better that way.

Alyia watched as the male began to look around and she watched as a spark grew in his eyes as he realized where they were. Alyia was not fond of Magnolia, the people or the places, it was too busy and too loud for her liking, sure it was the place in which the guild that she had joined resided, but even then she had avoided the place, only going to the guild when she needed to. Most of the jobs that she was to go on were jobs that could be hand delivered to her house in Oak Town, a place of serenity and of knowledge. The blonde listened to the man as he talked, he certainly seemed to know where he was exactly and what to do. Or, well so it seemed. Alyia knew that they would have to get out of the illusion, question was, how. She pulled her bottom lip into her mouth for a second to think before the man spoke again. This time about Eclipse Soul. The angel's ears perked up and she finally moved to look at him again, rather than just ignoring him and tuning out the sound of his voice. But it was only one line and the angel began to zone out again, missing probably the most important line that the male had said his entire speech.

Her head sifted around, looking at the buildings, it was as how she remembered it. Or maybe it was just a little too perfect for her liking. With her blue citrine orbs the angel finally began to move, one foot in front of the other as she finally moved outside of the house, however the second that she did everything seemed to go up into flames. The eyes of the girl widened and she stumbled backwards, only to trip on a small step leading up to the door. Flames reflected in the blue orbs of the girl. Eclipse Soul and her home had been taken away by the hungry flame, eaten until there was nothing left. Magnolia was not her home but it was the home of other people. She needed to stop this!

Quickly the girl got up and ran to where the man had mentioned the stream, she vaulted herself over the bridge and into the water, entering it with a splash. But the moment that the angel opened her eyes underwater and looked up to the surface the town was no longer on fire. Her eyes narrowed before the angel closed her own eyes, the fire was fake, she knew it was, it was like looking through the glass. Everything was as she remembered it and there was no way that the man could know if it was on fire or not.

The world seemed back around her, everything was in its right place, or as right as it could have been for a time. The illusion had ended for now, but angel cold tell that it wasn't over as when she opened her eyes she saw the hood of the man still in front of her. Her mind was once again going blank but before the angel lost all consciousness she mouthed a few very selective words.

Alright silent treatment, that's fine. Simon quickly found that he was basically talking to himself for all the responses he was getting out of Alyia. Then of course everything caught on fire, because of course it did. At first Simon panicked, who wouldn't at the sight of their favorite city in the world suddenly being consumed in a blaze? Simon in his mind quickly devised a plan to run through every building in the city rescuing every single citizen however that was a plan that never saw fruition as Alyia threw herself into the river. Simon was naturally taken aback, it was certainly unexpected to say the least. It then hit him, she was surely trying to break the illusion. The fire had caught him so by surprise that he had forgotten that it was an illusion in the first place which was a little embarrassing. He dashed over to the bridge and looked down in the water, Alyia was gone, she must have been out. Simon looked around at the blaze, "Simon we really need to work on our fear of water. You are literally being presented with the choice of swimming versus being stuck in an illusionary fire town and you are seriously considering picking illusionary fire town." He shook his head, Not the time for self depreciation here! Realizing he would only waste time if he let himself think anymore he threw himself over the edge. Then just like that the blazing vision vanished.

In out, in out, in out. Simon was starting to become a bit bored of this illusionist. His facades broke a bit too easy. Simon hardly had time to react to Magnolia's sudden combustion before Alyia quickly disassembled it. Now he was already being thrown back in, or so he assumed that was why everything was dark again. He shouted into the dark, "Have you got anything more original then large dark voids? You basically telegraph that what comes next is an illusion when you do that!" "You do not like the dark? Then have some light." The space was flooded with an orange light that came from behind Simon. He turned around and immediately saw the source; an explosion. A right proper expanding wall of flame coming right at him not more then forty meters away. Anyone without Simon's accelerated perception of time would have been overtaken by the flames by the time their brain processed what their eyes saw. But maybe more alarming was that Simon was not alone. Between him and the wall of flames was... Well everyone. Every person Simon could think of was there essentially frozen in still frames of fear, last moments of terror before they'd be met with a fate they couldn't hope to counter. He should've know, but his instincts kicked in, there wasn't time to waste thinking.

He rushed towards the explosion pushing his super speed to its limit, he grabbed the person closest to its fire, Zenshin, picked him up and dashed away. Compared to Simon's speed the explosion was a slug to a race car. He ran in the opposite direction of the explosion for a distance then set Zenshin down before running back for the next person. One by one he carried them away from the blast. He was much faster then it but the fact that he had to travel much farther, back and forth many times to evacuate an entire mob one at a time made it a desperate struggle. Run in, grab a person, get to a safe distance and set them down. A quarter of the way through this endeavor as he was hauling Lance to safety he noticed the explosion wasn't slowing down. As he returned for Garfield it became more apparent. Simon quickly realized if it wasn't slowing down at all by now he had seriously underestimated the minimum safe distance. He'd have to move the people he'd already saved again. His panic only made him faster. He didn't even realize Alyia wasn't there.

He just desperately kept trying to move his friends out of harms way, unaware that there was no minimum safe distance from an illusion explosion.

This time it wasn't darkness, not even close, there was no fire, there was no danger. Around the blonde haired mage was a simple field of pastel flowers. Like the kind that she would see in her dreams of her childhood, running through them, making headdresses out of them. They were those kind of flower, the perfect ones. But there was nothing else in the area but those flowers, symbols of perfection, painted by her own memories.

The angel looked at them for a moment before crouching down to them and cradling one in her hand. It was small, precious, gentle. The angel let out a deep breath before looking up at the sky which showed a blue sky littered with small cloud that would not harm a thing, maybe bring small drizzles of rain but nothing else. Reaching down the angel moved her hand to the stem of a light pink flower that had the leaves of a butterfly, looking like the bottom of ruffled dress, before digging her nails into it and plucking the flower. Slowly the girl stood up and brought the plucked flower to her nose and took a sniff.

Where there should have been the smell of a Carnation there was nothing, there was no smell. The smile on Alyia's face slowly turned to a soft frown, that was right, there was nothing real here. It was merely an illusion. Her blue citrine orbs closed and the angel let her hand that held the flower fall to her side before a sigh escaped her pink lips. That was right, none of this was real, it was all taken from her memories, the Daisies, the Lilies, the Agapanthus, the Carnations.

With this new realization the girl realized that she was missing an important person. Kiri, or whatever his name was, she still wasn't very good at names. Alyia flashed her eyes open, turning them into a glare before she slowly walked through the flowers to what seemed like the middle of the field before she parted her lips. "Where is he?"

A laugh echoed around her, sinister and knowing before an image, a screen appeared in front of the girl and what she saw was that of a dark area lit by an orange light that would only come from the flicker of flames. Eyes adjusting from the light area that the girl was in she looked at the screen trying to see what the other man saw. It took her a minute before she could see a blur across the screen, towards the fire and then away from it. But it took her another minute to figure out what, or more likely, who it was. Kari, what's his name. He was running back and forth carrying what seemed to be like people.

Doesn't that look like fun?
