    Joan Blackheart Empty Joan Blackheart

Post by Guest 12th November 2015, 3:01 pm

You might have heard of me...

    Name: Joan Blackheart
    Gender: Female
    Age: Body - 14 | Actual - 77
    Birthday: Body - 02/14 | Actual - 04/16
    Sexuality: Heterosexual
Special Characteristics: Through a dark ritual, Joan has transferred her soul to different bodies in an attempt to escape death. The first foreign body she used as a vessel was her own daughter's and later her granddaughter's, which is the current body she inhabits.

I see you're curious about me...

Personality: Joan's innermost core can be summarized as narcissism. She firmly believes herself to be the center of an invisible spotlight that christens her an import and grandiose person, if not a leading character on the world stage. As selfish as it may sound to a regular man or woman on the street, Joan has justified this manner of thinking in ways that might empathize with the common Joe. For instance, she sincerely believes herself to be more intelligent than the average person, more attractive, more understanding, and a more "good" person than the rest. The last one on that list is particularly odd, given that Joan does not believe in a standard morality system. She instead holds that morality occurs as a subjective anomaly rather than an objective system. This of course also means that she does not believe she can commit evil since evil is just a subject and relative word. In turn, this loops back to her narcissism.

If one were to close his or her eyes and only listen to Joan, it would not be obvious that that possesses the body of a young a girl. Indeed, she speaks slowly and maturely, putting careful thought into every word she utters. She sounds refined even, like an elder woman groomed in a first-class lifestyle from youth. She surely sounds pompous at times and her self-centered attitude can reveal itself in her special way of talking, but she is also not ignorant to this fact. She can at least dumb down her speech in her most self-aware moments and hide behind the guise of a dumb kid or an ignorant country bumpkin. It's worth noting, however, that the patterns found in her regular speech—boldness, maturity, and word choice—often serve as the prime red flag that tells others she is not a normal girl.

In a very simple sense of the word, Joan is a greedy person. She wants more of everything, from money to any silly material object. The source of this greed derives from a very human concern of not having enough resources to not only survive but live happily. However, this reasonable part of human nature is something Joan has slowly warped and corrupted into a more unnatural desire, one that seeks to quench her unending greed. In this terrible path to fulfill this massive want, she is willing to put aside all that she holds dear, including friends and family, moral and spiritual beliefs, and oaths and vows. She had abandoned all those before and would easily do it again. This makes her most dangerous to the ones closest to her above all others. She is certainly one willing to destroy everyone around her until she can destroy only herself, all for the sake of greed.

Joan thinks herself the exception to many regular social norms. She feels it an appropriate thing for her to ask sensitive and personal questions that one would otherwise avoid in regular conversation. One might even be unlucky enough to experience any odd touching she's prone to, including a shake of the shoulder or a rustle of the hair. She truly likes to test the boundary of how much she can get away with in everyday life, and each lengthening of that boundary only entices Joan to be bolder while supporting the idea that she really is a special exception to society's taboos. This goes back to the trap of becoming to close with her; if she spends a lot of time with someone, she will continually test that invisible boundary until said person ultimately gives out and avoids her.

As one would expect from a narcissist, Joan tends to measure people by how useful they are. This usefulness can be something practical like possessing a large amount of power to help out with reaching a difficult object. It can also be something more complimentary, such as being a good conversationalist who enjoys talking to Joan about her and her interests. In contrast to those two examples, Joan does not consider how useful she might be to the other person. She does not regularly care enough to help someone reach a great and noble goal unless it brings more spotlight and rewards toward her. She also has a habit of growing easily bored in a conversation when it's neither fun and interesting nor about her. This is one of those problems that pose a serious obstacle in Joan's ability to attract and grow in meaningful friendships and romantic relationships.

Someone so self and intent on keeping his or her life is obviously going to try and stay out of direct confrontation unless he or she feels confident with the circumstances. Joan is much the same way, typically only getting into it with weaker opponents; although she can be vexed into fighting stronger ones if her pride is on the line. When it comes to working in combat alone, Joan is a fan of both dirty attacks and flashy ones that enable her to showoff. When she's working with a team under someone, the urge to do flashy moves is usually at max capacity. Needless to say, she doesn't work well with others. She's very independent and has a bad habit of ignoring whatever orders are thrown at her. As a leader, she's not much better. She tends to use her underlings like expendable pawns and has no quarrels with sacrificing someone.

    Likes:

    • Expensive Possessions - Owning expensive things is a sign of wealth, a quality that Joan admires.
    • Bards - Bards remind Joan of her childhood home and fill her with a sense of nostalgia.
    • Self-Interest - Joan is a firm believer that people should act out of their own self-interest, and to do otherwise would be in conflict with human nature.

    Dislikes:

    • Secrets - Joan does not like information being kept from her and takes it as an insult.
    • Humility - Although she wouldn't come out and admit, Joan is rather envious of humble people.
    • Restraints - Joan does not like to be restrained by means of relationships, justice, or oaths. She prefers utter freedom.

    Motivations:

    • Riches - Joan is certain that only an unimaginable amount of riches could satisfy her constant discomfort and greed.
    • Agelessness - Joan's desire to never age derives from two sources: her natural human fear of death taken to an extreme and the obvious problem of not being able to enjoy whatever wealth she accumulates forever and ever.
    • Improving Skills - Joan is a person who depends entirely on herself, which is why she is comfortable knowing that her skills and knowledge remain accumulated as she switches bodies (unlike her physical prowess).

    Fears:

    • Time - With time comes the aging of the body and with the aging of the body comes death. Joan fears her own body aging into death to a point that she has become greedy over her own youth.
    • Damaged Pride - Since Joan holds herself in such high regard, she is naturally disgusted by the possibility of having her pride hurt by nerve-touching words and actions.
    • Poverty - Joan has had a taste of the good life. After that, she could never consider falling into a state of poverty again.
