A Dapper Caper [Maze w/Kiku] Empty A Dapper Caper [Maze w/Kiku]

This was a curious turn of events.

There’d been scads better shows than her little trickster event on stage, the last little rock show certainly a nice way to end the entire segment before they’d move onto the next major event. ’Well I won’t complain,’ she mentally shrugged, more sure it’d been her bust (and spot of charm) that won over the theft of multiple wallets. At the very least she doubted they’d been the ones to vote for her, the thought causing a quick giggle of laughter that she hid behind one of her gloved hands.

’A maze? ‘n the hell’d they make that?’ Getting the entire village into it to boot left the woman wondering what might be lurking in those depths, ’At the very least a buncha costumed villagers I’m sure. Still better than some of the other places I’ve gone through though.’ She figured if nothing else at least this would lack the real element of danger to it, instead involving jump scares and good effects (and maybe the occasional bad ones).

    Kiku and Rohma

She hardly knew the fellow, more conscious of who he was since people had been ordering drinks earlier, some going so far as to use it rather than “Barkeep” or “Hey you” and things of that sort. ’Well he’s dapperly dressed at any rate,’ she noted, eyes sliding over to him before regarding the door. It was hard not to be curious since she hadn’t noticed anything earlier in the day. When had they set it up? How large was it? Would they all be going in at different entries points or taking turns attempting to solve the thing? Would they be graded on time then? Were there cameras in there, hidden to try and capture some comedic scare moments and the like with everyone watching TVs? The last one she waved aside, sure that at most it’d be recording it to play at a later point since such things could clue people to scares and potentially the path to go if they didn’t all start at the same time.

And then another thought occurred to her.

    ’Ah…shit…’

It was a horrible realization, one that caused her to pause just outside of the building, having motioned to her “teammate” to meet outside. What if there were zombies in there? Hopefully not real – gods she really hoped they weren’t real – but what if some villager thought it’d be fun to go as realistic as possible on the costume? An illusion wouldn’t be as bad even if that part of the labyrinth might…lay in ruins after, but heavens help any idiot who decided to craft themselves a realistic decayed flesh outfit for the festivities. ”Gods I hope there aren’t too many at least…they might get annoyed if I destroy the whole thing…” she murmured. It was simply a compulsory reaction: some people locked up in fright and other’s became trigger happy.

Besides the dead should stay dead.

Standing there she briefly considered having Amarylis perhaps direct them through the place before casting aside such ideas: they might’ve cast some illusion to negate such advantages or it’d cause a failure.

”So…” she elongated the ‘o’ sound, turning to regard the gentleman, ”don’t ‘spose you’ve got some super sense of direction or anything?” Worse came to worse she’d leave a little invisible trail to cover their tracks and avoid too much stumbling down the same path. However it’d be a good time to figure out this mysterious fellow a bit as well, a lot of her guildmates still strangers in a sense to the woman.

To be honest, Kiku’s heart wasn’t in this little maze thing going on. Truly, he didn’t even like the idea of this going on. Everything was an unexpected variable. Though he must push through. His partner was an odd girl to him. Magic involving codes, but chose to use a gun as her weapon of choice. It was odd, but who was he to judge. He used an air sword with a brand of water magic, and lets not get into his other abilities.

His mind was still elsewhere before her voice range through his ears, thus getting his attention before he would look at her, his head cocked off to the side. He took a moment, thinking about who was running the event, calculating what they could possibly be in for. Tyriel, his teammate, and one of the heads used Archive based magic. Deep down he figured she could use something a kin to projections, while Ardere was a fire user, a Godslayer to be exactly. He wasn’t sure if he did much projection with his magic, but it was safe to say he would need to be on the look out for fire around here.

Her words of direction hit his ears again as he scowled. He wanted out of here as soon as possible, so might as well let one person in on what he was in a sense, or manner. He looked at her for a moment before he grinned. “Sense of direction? Err not so much, but how would you feel about cheating?” He said as he snorted. As his will would demand, a pair of black and red wings would sprout from his back, the wings that marked what he was. Rohma was in fact the only person in the guild at this point to his knowledge that he had them.

Before speaking, or looking at her again, he kicked against the ground as the wings spread out and beat against the air, kicking up dirt and dust before he would rise into the air. His eyes quickly adapting to the light, and took mental image of the paths of hedges before him, a guide line formed in his mind before he grinned.

He lowered himself back to the ground before hiding his wings again, and pointed in a direction with a smile. ”I do believe we need to go this way Rohma dear. Just follow me, and we’ll be out of here soon enough.” He said before walking off down the path that he saw lead to the outside.
