Mashyuu: A Wizards Grace!

With staff still in his hand Mashyuu reeled back in pain, water welled up in his eyes but didn't let the sudden, sickening pain bother him. A plume of dust shot up around his legs and worked their way up his body until he was covered in a gritty set of armor. He swiftly twisted to face the monster that the Farmers were attacking and jabbed his staff into the Corn Demons mouth until he felt it stab into the back of its throat. As he did this Mashyuu saw that the Farmers had likewise hacked through the same part of the monster, cleaving it and using their momentum to carry forward and slam into the Corn Demon that had slammed into Mashyuu, driving it backwards and stopping it from attacking Mashyuu.

At the same moment Mashyuu noticed that the one monster he had managed to dance around had fired a stream of Corn at the brown haired Wizard. The dirt under his legs rolled and shifted then in a flash of white and blue, Mashyuu was rocketed to the right, the stream of corn barely missing him and the trio behind him. In a shaky fashion Mashyuu stopped and considered his options. At this point his fog spell wouldn't do any good but he could feel the ability to cast other spells slowly returning to his body.

The Farmers hacked and ripped at the Corn Monster who had been pushed back and was struggling to find purchase in the gritty dirt opening. Each time they swung at the Corn Demon they dug a little deeper into the monster with their make shift axes. "Keep us covered!" Jacob cried out while continuing to hack at the monster.

Mashyuu glanced over his shoulder at the men and grinned. He could take the monsters down if they continued to hack at the beast. His body was ready to react to the corn monsters if they tried to fire at him again. He surged with strength and tossed his staff into the air like it was a spear. With a great heave he threw his staff at the only Corn Demon that hadn't been struck yet. However as the staff flew through the air, the lead monster rolled away and let his brother get hit by the staff full force.

The monster cried out loudly and went cross eyed. If it had legs it would have nearly dropped to the ground from the impact. Mashyuu raised his hands up and with them sand started to rise nearly seven feet into the air. While the dirt hadn't started to swirl yet, it thickened almost instantly around Mashyuu. He couldn't see out of the fog nor could the others see in, but with any luck the spell would buy him plenty of time to recover and get his barring again.

The dirt and sand that had been lifted up off the ground started to whirl around Mashyuu and he closed his eyes. He could feel the ground around him and the Corn Demon that crept into the fog. He hoped that the monster would be pelted with a stone but sadly that hadn't come to fruition. Mashyuu exhaled with sorry in his voice.

As bad as things were going for Mashyuu, the Farmers were doing ten times better. They had managed to bowl the Corn monster down and continued to hack and slash at the Demon as hard as they could, raking at the monster, ripping pieces of corn from the monsters body and after a brutal and savage attack Jacob and the Farmer had finished off one of the Corn demons.

Mashyuu flexed his fingers, feeling the monsters around him, two were left and they were getting closer to Mashyuu and the farmers. He knew he couldn't hide in the thick fog to long but he could manage to build up his stores of energy. His armor was starting to slow its rolling around Mashyuu's body and he knew that in just a few moments his armor would fail him. "Hey! We need to prepare a rushing attack. I'm going to drop the fog in a few moments so we can attack! Are you ready?"

Mashyuu could feel the two monsters creeping into the earth fog he created and knew that if they drew any closer that the beasts would be upon him in no time at all. His hand shot up, aiming at the area the Corn Demon's were standing. The earth under him started to shake softly as lose pieces of stones twisted and rumbled. The fog around Mashyuu fell to the ground silently and his spell was cast. "Stone Blast!" he called out.

A fierce hail of rocks jutted out and struck the two monsters. With the fog just being up, the Corn Demon's weren't ready to avoid the stream of stones and were hit hard. One blew back with the rocks, falling to pieces in the process.

The surviving monster snarled and drooled while looking at Mashyuu and the farmers. It started to spew corn but was cut off by a hoe slamming into its mouth hard, stopping the monster from completing it's attack and saving Mashyuu in the process. Jacob then ran up behind it and used his hoe to pull the Corn Demon off it's "foot" and knocked it to the ground with a resounding thud. A half smile spread over Mashyuu's features and his heart felt like it would slow down soon, his body stopped quaking and the Wizard felt relief, knowing he could beat this monster.

Status:

Mashyuu had taken a terrible beating but so had the five Corn Demons that had attacked the trio of men. The man with Brown hair watched as the two farmers started hacking hard, at the downed hunk of massive Corn but the body of this one was larger than the last. They just couldn't seem to get through the cob of the monster. Hack after hack the small pieces of corn flew but the monster barely budged from the pain.

Using what power he had left, Mashyuu pulled up a second staff out of the ground and rushed the corn, dragging his staff along the ground. He stopped about five feet away from the monster and gripped the staff hard while twisting his arms and hips up. The staff pulled up lose dirt and came up in a wide arc before Mashyuu yelled with anger.

He brought down the staff as hard as he could on the back of the living Corn's head. It smashed hard, denting the back of it's "skull" and caused creamed corn to spew in a horrid flow down the back of its head. Mashyuu closed his eyes then dismissed the staff while looking at the two men. Jacob clapped his hand on Mashyuu's shoulder and smiled warmly. "A good fight friend. Please come inside and we can check on our friends, have a warm meal and rest for the night. I think soon we can start farming again..."

Mashyuu, Jacob and the Farmer had stepped inside Jacob's home and closed the door softly behind them. The trio stepped into Jacob's guest room and the three were surprised to see that the man who had been nearly killed a few days ago was starting to get out of bed. His wounds looked nearly completely healed and a half smile spread across his face while he waved to the three fighters. The four men stepped out of the room and headed for the kitchen where Jacob's wife had already prepared a hot bowl of stew for the men...

That night Mashyuu headed for Sarah's home, he slipped inside and picked up the little shale figure he carved. It was a small animal, similar to a dog in shape. When he had given it to Sarah Mashyuu said that it would always watch her and take care of her. After thinking about it, Mashyuu felt like a liar. Silently Mashyuu curled up on the dusty couch and cried himself to sleep.

Little did Mashyuu know that the amount of magical power he had been using during the past few fights had been feeding the power of the Demon's and started to make them grow even more. When the sun rose so did the creatures that Mashyuu had created.

'Monster Dice' :

Mashyuu crept out from the doorway of Sarah's home, the morning sun had warmed his soul, for the first time in nearly a week Mashyuu felt like the world wasn't against him. He pulled his mothers jacket on over his arms to keep the cool morning air from chilling his bones. He glanced around the farmlands for a long while from what Mashyuu could tell today was the first time that the farmers had all gone out to do their jobs in the morning. They seemed to think that the curse had been lifted.

Stepping down from the steps Mashyuu cracked his neck and considered leaving when he heard a blood freezing scream come from down the road. Mashyuu took off at a break neck speed and as he did so, the three Farmers had joined him in pursuing the source of the screams.

The four men all arrived at a gruesome scene, a woman was being attacked by a group of ten slightly larger than average tomatoes. The monsters were insane looking, the group of men raised a brow in confusion before they all raced forward. Without thinking about it Mashyuu ripped a staff out of the ground and slammed the staff across the face with his staff. The Tomato rolled off of the woman, in order to keep the Tomato's away from him, Mashyuu started to whirl the staff over head in a wide arch.

In the same space of time, the three farmers had attacked the monsters and all ganged up upon one. The monster had shouted in surprise as it was literally hacked off of the woman. Carefully she crawled away from the Tomatoes and out from under the arc of Mashyuu's swinging staff. Once safely away from the action she sprang up to her feet and ran as fast as she could back into her house.

The woman's door slammed shut, causing a loud echo to reverberate from the farm house just a few yards away. Now with just the confusion of the fighters, Mashyuu had the freedom to unleash upon the monsters. He swang his staff high, missing most of the Tomato monsters in the process but striking the beast he had attacked just a few moments before. On impact the monster exploded in a gush of tomato paste, some of it splattering on Mashyuu like it were blood.

One monster spewed ketchup at Mashyuu but his staff managed to cleave through the swing of the monsters attack. Mashyuu took a single half step back and barred his teeth at the beasts.

While that had been going on, Jacob and the farmers continued to swing their weapons at the monster that they had knocked off the woman. The three hit the tomato hard, the hoes sharp edges were much more effective against the Tomatoes than they were against the corn had managed to crush the creature under the hacking blows.

"Hey what's the matter? All that magic power and the farmers are as effective as you in a fight?" One of the Tomatoes asked. The others started to laugh feverishly at the mocking joke while they started to move and surround the four fighters. Mashyuu held his staff firmly while pressing his back to Jacob. Soon all four men were back to back and ready to fight...

Mashyuu and the three Farmers focused for a long moment while sizing up their foes. The Earth Wizard narrowed his eyes and rushed forward and jabbed his staff into one of the Tomatoes who hacked up tomato seeds from the sudden blunt pain it was in. "This wasn't your best idea was it?" Mashyuu asked while grinding the staff into the Tomato demon's face.

It didn't take long for the three Farmers to attack the same creature and with their joint hacks, the Tomato ruptured and started to bubble before it caved in on itself. However the attack had left all four men in a terrible spot and the group were rushed. Mashyuu took two solid strikes by body slamming Tomatoes.

Mashyuu rolled forward and used his staff to level himself as he tumbled to the ground, by the skin of his teeth he managed to roll to his knees and turn to face the monsters. In that time the Farmers had managed to defend themselves from the other Tomatoes attacks. They had used their hoes to ward off oncoming attacks.

The Tomatoes that had been trying to kill the men started to get annoyed with their apparent failure. One had decided that goading them into a frenzy was a good idea. Sadly the monsters were slightly afraid of the Wizard who had managed to lead the group of men to killing three of their friends.

Status:

The staff in Mashyuu's hand crumbled as the spell wore off. He swore under his breath and grabbed twisted his body slightly to aim his hand at a trio of Tomatoes. "Stone Blast!" He called out and caused a rush of stones to pelt the monsters hard with rocks, stunning them for a moment. The monsters that had been struck cried out in pain and fell away from their attempted attacks on the trio of Farmers who had been having better luck against the Tomato monsters than Mashyuu had.

It took him a moment to register what was happening with the seven Tomatoes attacking everything in sight, sadly the few moments that Mashyuu took to register what was happening was all it took for one of the monsters to fire a stream of ketchup at Mashyuu and strike him square in the face. The blow sent him rolling onto his back and sliding back a few feet.

The farmers continued their joint attacks, each one hacking at a different section of an already wounded Tomatoes body. Together the trio lifted the monster and slammed the Tomato down hard and smashed it into the dirt soiled ground hard. It splattered in a thin thud and covered the trio in its effective guts.

Status:

So far so good, and Mashyuu hadn't taken much in the way of damage plus it seemed like the four men had managed to freak the weaker monsters out enough that they were no longer antagonizing the heroes. A wide hand spread over Mashyuu's face and swiped the stinging ketchup off his face while he pulled himself to his feet. "I'm going to have to kill these things the old fashioned way..." He said to nobody in particular.

Still on a knee, Mashyuu gently touched the ground as he came to a complete stand. The earth under him rolled over his skin and formed an armor of sand around his body. His knees slightly bent and the ground rushed him forward, past the three men fighting with Hoes and he slammed his fist into the face of one of the already weakened monsters.

It's face sank in with a hard squashing sound while it stumbled back a half step. Before it could recover however, it found three hoes sinking into its head and whiting out it's eyes. The monsters started to rumble before it expended and sank in a lifeless heap to the ground.

The act had freaked out the other five monsters to the point that they started to run, or whatever running was for them. They jumped, and bounced as fast as they could away from the fight while Mashyuu and the others started to chase the Plant Demons.

Status:

Mashyuu, Jacob and the farmers had given chase to the Tomato Demons who had decided to turn tail and run. While Mashyuu swept his arm down and over the ground mid chase, he ripped a stone staff from the ground and used his sand skin to rocket himself forward, spearing one of the monsters in the back and impaling the Tomato. It shrieked in pain before it sagged around the blunt force weapon.

Mashyuu had stopped ahead of the others and this made the four remaining Tomato Demons slide to a stop and turn to face Mashyuu. "Ehhh. Can't we talk about this?" He asked while he slipped the dead tomato off his staff. The monsters all started to laugh before they rolled towards him as if to bull rush the Wizard.

The left foot of the Wizard stepped back to brace as he blocked one attack with his staff. He could feel his weapon give a bit under the weight of the attack but he managed to keep it at bay. However a second Tomato was about to strike when the Farmers caught up and bowled the monster over, hitting it with the blunt end of their hoes.

As the other two monsters got within striking range of Mashyuu, his jacket pocket started to bulge and rumble before the sandstone statue he had carved fell from his pocket and expanded to the size of a large dog or wolf. It stood on all fours, braced for action while growling in a rocky tone.

The creature opened it's maw while glaring at one of the Tomato monsters and from the rock creature's mouth sprang a spew of rocks in a straight line. The stones ripped and pelted at the Tomato Demon, almost knocking it back with the sudden strike.

When the creature sprang out of Mashyuu's pocket, the last Demon stopped it's advance in confusion and turned tail again to start to run...

With the sudden arrival of the strange animal at Mashyuu's side (Something he wasn't complaining about), the two forces were matched evenly when it came to numbers. What had surprised Mashyuu was how the animal seemed to come to his aid when he needed it the most. If Sarah had kept the statue on her would it have done the same? In the short term sense it didn't matter, what mattered was the creature gave Mashyuu a chance to breathe. He took a half step back while twisting his body a bit to aim at the creature in front of him and the one that started to run again.

"Stone Blast!" Stones ruptured from the ground, hitting the running creature and the one in front of Mashyuu. After the spell had been cast, Mashyuu Lifted his staff and slammed it upon the monster in front of him, the round Tomatoes hadn't been as agile as the corn monsters and was too wide to avoid the impact. It crunched loudly and flattened into the dirt at Mashyuu's feet.

Meanwhile the monster that had been fighting the Stone creature slipped up and slammed hard into the animal like golem. While it didn't so much as whimper, the monster did slip back a step. But in retaliation it slammed it's head into the Tomato and harmed the Demon just as much.

While that had been happening Jacob led his Farmer friends on an offensive attack that left the tomato they had been battling reeling from the attacks and stunned.

Dirt and sand stopped moving and fell off Mashyuu's body in a light heap on the dirty paths of Beanstalk Village. At his left, the three Farmers continued their attack on the Tomato Demon they had intercepted and to his right the Stone Dog and nearly beaten monster continued trading blows. Still one Tomato tried escaping. The young man used his staff and smashed the weapon against the Tomato fighting Mashyuu's new guardian, killing it on the spot. "Get it!" Mashyuu ordered while pointing his staff at the fleeing Tomato.

The Stone Guardian growled for a moment and took off at break neck speed, it's four legs carried it a little faster than Mashyuu's legs could have carried him. In no time at all it was upon the Tomato and slamming it's entire rock body into the Tomato, rolling with it into a small bush of berries near some crops.

Mashyuu didn't give any thought to what he was doing and chased off after the monster that his new friend had tackled into the bush. By the time he arrived the two creatures had just barely rolled around out of the bush. Mashyuu held the staff in his hand like a pool stick then jabbed it into the back of the Tomatoes head, finishing it off.

By the time the two allies, Mashyuu and the stone dog had gotten back to the farmers, they had finished off their target. Blood trickled from a few open wounds on Mashyuu's body but he wasn't any worse off than he had been just a single night ago....

...The same day, the crops seemed to be farmable again and shortly after Beanstalk Village threw a party for Mashyuu and his new friend that had been named Rocky. The village elder insisted that Mashyuu stay until his wounds had healed, leading the Wizard to stick around for half a week...

A few days had gone bye since the curse was seemingly lifted and Mashyuu decided to sneak out of the village in the middle of the night. He didn't want to deal with the farmers asking him to stay another night, nor did he want to deal with the sorrow his heart would feel knowing that he had left friends in the village behind again.

The pair of Mashyuu and Rocky had made it to the end of the village when a voice called out to them from behind. "Excuse me!... I wanted to give you a parting gift before you left, aside from the money the village put together." The voice called out.

Mashyuu and Rocky turned around slowly, the dim moonlight barely beat down on the village and allowed for little visibility. Mashyuu's blue eyes squinted to make out the features of the man. Long, majestic beard, wrinkled skin and hunched over in a dark robe. The man was the village elder. When Mashyuu realized this his heart stopped beating at a rapid pace but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

"You see, my plants have reacted very strongly to your magic power. I never thought I'd find a soul aside from my own to power my spells.... I must have you so that my cursed magic ca"

Before he had the chance to finish his sentence, Mashyuu held his palm out and fired a Stone blast right at his face. The blow hit the old man but barely seemed to be phased by the strike. Instead he simply laughed as a stream of blood trickled down his neck from where the blast of rocks had cut at his flesh.

"...Well done. The first attack was free.... Now, let our battle begin."

"HAAAAAA!" Mashyuu rushed forward and swang his fists and knees at the older Wizard but the man was able to side step and evade a series of ten strikes in a row, and with a simple push of his palm, the elder shoved Mashyuu back a few paces until he and Rocky were standing side by side again.

"Pretty spry for an old man... That magic keeping your body running?" Mashyuu asked while catching his breath and circling the old Wizard. The brown haired Wizard took a glance down at Rocky who was poised to pounce on the old wizard and he held a hand out. "Not yet boy, we need to work together." He whispered to the stone animal. Rocky looked up at Mashyuu and growled then placed it's attention back on the old man.

Unnerved by the duo's apparent attacks, the old man simply stood still while letting his cold dark eyes watch the pair. "Do you truly think you can overcome my curse magic? It appears we shall see." His hand came up, palm open and an arcane circle spread around the area of his hand before glowing a dark purple. A ray of magic came sprouting fourth towards Mashyuu.

The young wizard ducked, rolled and attempted to avoid the attack, but no matter where he went the purple ray seemed to follow him. "Gotta block..." He grunted and raised his hands up to try and stop the blast....

'Block Dice' :

The purple blast hit Mashyuu's forearms but he managed to brace and block the attack. His teeth ground together while he snarled. His body slipped backwards for a moment until he nearly left the city limits. "Rocky go!" Mashyuu shouted. The earth elemental raced forward and slammed it's body into the gut of the older Wizard, causing the man's spell to end and even doubled him over.

With the impact of Rocky, the Wizard took a step back and tried to not fall to a knee from the sudden strike he absorbed. "Hughhh.... a good move. But can you stop my attack again?" The old Wizard asked while running the back of his hand over his mouth to wipe away a line of spit from his jaw.

Moving his arms, Mashyuu dispersed the magical spell off his arms and stood up straight. A sly smile spread over the young Wizards face while he dropped to his knee and ripped up a stone staff from the ground.

Again Mashyuu rushed forward, his staff burst forward in a flurry of attacks. While the old man was still spry, Rocky had managed to get behind the elder Wizard and run between the curse magic users legs. The trip up managed to give Mashyuu an opening and he slammed the blunt end of the staff into the old man's jaw. What Mashyuu almost didn't notice however was the spell the Village Elder managed to get off towards the Earth Wizard.

'Block Dice' :

The curse spell hit Mashyuu's arm and he almost dropped his staff. The young Mage tried to move his arm and instead of it moving it simply hang there. He took a deep breath and snarled at the Dark Wizard who had fallen over from the joint attack of both Rocky and Mashyuu. "Ahhh.... you crazy mook. What did you do to me?" The blue eyed wizard asked.

Still Mashyuu managed to whip the staff around over his head and slammed it against the downed elder Wizard. The staff dug into the Wizard's chest hard, using all the strength in Mashyuu's arm he dug the stone into the old man's flesh before he skipped back. "Get him Rocky!" Mashyuu ordered while trying to get feeling back into his arm desperately.

Rocky looped around the old Wizard while he rolled onto his hands and knees. The man lifted his hand to try to block the attack that jutted from Rocky's mouth as he roared loudly. Rocks spewed from Rocky's mouth and hit the old man in the face.

"Ahhh! God damn it!" The old man cried out and fired a blast of magical energy at Rocky, trying to blind the beast with a cursed spell. With any luck the animal wouldn't be able to attack again if it couldn't see. The truth was however that neither of the Wizards were sure how it actually sensed things since it seemed to have a dome shaped head.

'Block Dice' :

The magical blast of energy from the dark Wizards spell hit Rocky but the elemental managed to shake off the effects of the spell with ease. The old Wizard swore under his breath at his failed spell and pulled himself up to his feet as Rocky ran forward and sprang up on it's hind legs before it smashed it's two forearms into the man's face. He slid back to gain distance on Rocky, only to nudge against the dark blue jeans of Mashyuu.

Mashyuu still hadn't had feeling back in his left arm but he had plenty of feeling in his right. He hoisted his staff up high and took two steps back while whipping the staff down atop the Old Wizards head. After connecting, the Earth Wizard tried to hit the man again but the old Wizard managed to roll away from Mashyuu.

When Mashyuu missed his attack on the ground, Mashyuu licked his dry lips and turned to face the old man as he started to spring back up onto his feet at last. Mashyuu grinned at the old man who had seemingly slowed down. "Good job so far, but lets see how you do when you can't hear a thing!" He threatened and fired out a beam of energy from his palm like he had when the two first started their fight.

The spell projected straight towards Mashyuu and nearly struck his chest until he flipped his unusable arm up to block the blast of magic. He absorbed the blow but the attack had no effect on Mashyuu. However the staff in his hand had crumbled to the ground at Mashyu's feet. It didn't take more than a moment for Mashyuu to reach his hand out and cast a magical spell to strike out at the dark Wizard.

"Stone Blast!" much like Rocky's attack Mashyuu's used stones to pelt the Old Wizard. The blast however had a wider arch and used the rocks that had made up Mashyuu's staff. The old man tried to block the attack, stones ripped through the mans robes and drew lines of blood around the Wizards body.

"I'm going to make sure you don't do that again!" The wizard threatened Mashyuu. Apparently the old man hadn't noticed that Mashyuu didn't do much in the way of using that attack often. Instead he started to run at the older wizard again in order to keep the man off his feet.

Apparently the old Wizard had forgotten about Rocky as it effectively galloped towards the old man and smashed hard into the elder Wizard and absorbed the attack that the Dark Wizard had tried to throw at Mashyuu.
