Information: Me and my husband are going for a big party and it’s out of town. Our son, our naughty-inhumane-son, is going to spend the night alone if he doesn’t have any babysitter to take care of him. We need you to take care of him and when we come back we expect him asleep; or else I will not reward you. This may sound like an easy job to do, but in fact it’s hard. The fact that I say that is because; he’s an inhumane baby: he’s very naughty, and dangerous. This one time, I saw him taking a knife and nearly cut his cute fingers off. Anyway, good luck!

Since it seemed like an easy job and the young Dragon Slayer wanted to make some quick cash, he decided to accept a babysitting job. What bothered him the most was the lack of action his recent jobs had, but there was little he could do. He could either sit around and wait, or do the small jobs until he was ready for the big leagues. The only question was how long would he’d have to wait?

“This looks like the place,” Slade muttered to himself as he found his client’s house and knocked on the door.

“Hey there,” the client said while welcoming the Dragon Slayer into her home, “We’re about to leave, just make yourself at home.”

By the looks of the person’s home, whoever they were had to be wealthy. There were a lot of objects like statues and paintings that worried Slade. He’d never watched a baby before and had a feeling that before the night ended, something would be ruined.

*Knock, knock, knock!*

It happened a few minutes after the couple left. Knocks came on the door which signaled that somebody was there, but who? Was it the parents? Had they returned because they forgot to give some important memo, such as the baby being demonic or something? Nope. It was a small girl whom barely reached five feet. Her blonde hair and blue eyes made her recognizable as Leivinia Rikou; one of the people in Slade’s guild. While they hadn’t talked at all, it was pretty easy to recall a familiar face.

“I would like to watch your baby,” came her soft directions from outside the door. Could he not hear it? Was he dead? Leivinia thought for a full two seconds before deciding what to do. She could contact the parents who left the job on the Blue Pegasus board, she could ask the guild master, she could leave and find a new job, and she could do several other reasonable things such as these.

*BAM!*

However, she decided to break the door down with a battering ram made of her Dark Matter. “Eliot said not to use magic,” she mentally noted. “But he is not here.”

First, everything was peaceful and quiet after the clients left their home. It almost made Slade think that the job was going to be simple, but then heard someone knocking on the door. He wondered who it could be and remembered the baby’s parents didn’t leave him instructions about guests showing up.

Should I just pretend no one’s home?

Thankfully the young Dragon Slayer didn’t have to make a decision. Someone broke down the door and instantly he held a ball of fire. Slade’s first thought that it was an intruder and didn’t want the child to get harmed. Once he saw that it was someone from Blue Pegasus, he immediately turned down his flames.

“Oh it’s you,” he said, “You’re um…. Lannie right?”

A swooshing sound could then be heard by the Dragon Slayer’s left ear. Apparently a butcher’s knife was thrown and he didn’t know who it was. Was it his Guild Mate?

“WHAT WAS THAT FOR, ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?” he yelled.

“My name is Leivinia,” she corrected him. She then pouted. “We’re in the same guild and you don’t know my name?” While they had never spoken more than a few passing words if any, she still knew his name was Slade simply because they joined around the same time. Just then, a knife spiraled past the Slayer’s head and Leivinia had to move to avoid it.

“How would that be me!?” she cried out, unsure of who the attacker was. “It came from behind you!” She didn’t mention that she should have thrown a knife at that man since he didn’t invite her to this job. She actually had seen several others go on jobs. Maybe it was because of her age?

Regardless, Leivinia brought her eyes up to where the knife came from and saw….

“A…. baby?”

That couldn’t have been right. Was it illusion magic? Was it an odd, ineffective form of take-over magic? Or did this baby accidentally just happen to throw a knife?

The little girl was correct; the knife couldn’t have come from her. Slade then turned around and saw a baby with a menacing grin on his face. Did that child throw the knife or did Leivinia somehow manage to do the impossible. Right as the young Dragon Slayer was in the middle of solving the mystery, he’d gotten his answer. Yet another knife was thrown at him.

“WHAT THE HECK,” Slade cried out as he narrowly dodged the flying blade, “You need a time out mister!”

He then picked up the child and after he did so, it struggled to free itself from the Dragon Slayer’s grip. The baby, however, immediately stopped. Apparently after all the fighting the child did tired him out. Slade then heard it snoring and realized the baby had gone to sleep.

Just as it did, the Dragon Slayer noticed its mom had returned. She was speechless at the door, but soon calmed down after seeing that her son was asleep. The woman then paid the two and took her son to his room.
