Returning Home(Intro. All Welcome)

Three years. That was the amount of time it had been since he had left this town, his home. Yes, it had been a long time. All to try and find one elusive ingredient. Was it worth the time and effort? Well, that was a matter of perspective. Most would probably say no. Why would they say no? Well, he never found the ingredient so he'd been travelling for years and not acheived his goal. However, in his own mind it had been totally worth it even if he hadn't been successful. He'd learned a bunch of new cooking techniques, found some other new ingredients and ,most importantly, satisfied a lot of hungry people with his culinary skill. To him there was no greater joy then seeing the smiles on someone's face as they ate whatever he had prepared.

The young lad arrived at his destination, a large pack on his back and a key in his hand. He pushed the key into the lock and turned it. Well, he tried to turn it anyway. It hadn't been possible though. His key wasn't working. He jingled it a bit and tried to get it to turn, but it hadn't. A perplexed look came across his face and he took a step back to make sure he had arrived at the right building. Normally, he didn't doubt his memory as it was eidetic, but in this case he couldn't think of any other reason as to why his key wasn't working. As he took a few steps back he saw that the building was much bigger than he remembered. It also looked a lot fancier. He glanced down the street at one of the road signs. He was definitely on the right street. The distance was also correct. So why wasn't his key working? And why had the building changed so much?

He was puzzled that was for certain, but he shrugged it off and went and knocked on the large door instead. It was very confusing for a 15 year old to find out something had changed about his home. The home he had lived in since his parents died as collateral damage in some gang feud. He'd ended up cooking for one of the gangs here for a bit to pay off his father's debt. He'd stayed because he enjoyed cooking and the criminals seemed to be able to get him any ingredient he wanted even if it was by shady means. Eventually though he left and it seemed in the time since he'd been gone that things had changed quite a bit in the town. "Perhaps the guys just got really lucky with some deals and expanded. That's possible." he said to himself as he waited for an answer at the door.

Whilst he waited he conjured up a frying pan out of nowhere and a jug of batter. With a snap of his fingers a small cooking flame appeared hovering in the air beneath it and he poured the batted in. "Pancakes. Great way to start the day." he said with a grin.

Kakuma heard the word "Pancakes." and was awake right away. She was in the rafters again hiding from Sophie again, paperwork had stacked up again. She wrapped her legs around one of the beams and swung down, hanging upside-down from it. "DID YOU SAY PANCAKES?" Kakuma's eyes wides with excitement. She could hear a running stomp approaching... "aww damn." Kakuma pulled herself back up. Sophie came running into the room, screaming at Kakuma at the top of her lungs.

"KAKUMA! GET YOU BUTT DOWN HERE AND DO THE PAPERWORK." She slid to a halt and tossed a handful of pens in Kakuma's direction.

Kakuma rolled over the Beam and dropped down infront of her. "But I am greeting a new member." Kakuma was trying to dig herself out of getting caught. "Am i not suppose to do that?"

Sophie narrowed her eyes and looked at the new person. "Is that what shes doing?" Kakuma looked at the man with pleading eyes.

The young man flipped a pancake swiftly into the air and raised an eyebrow. In all honesty, by the sound and look of things it seemed that this woman was here for nothing else except some of Magna's pancakes and he was perfectly fine with sharing. He conjured up a bottle of syrup and a plate and squeezed the bottle. It flew up into the air at a perfect arc and landed on the pancake which had somehow in its flip managed to form itself into a small flower shape similar to that of a rose. It landed perfectly on the plate which he handed towards Kakuma. "Bon appetit." He honestly had no idea what this woman had meant by a 'new member'. However, for now he would humour her as it seemed like it would make the most number of people happy.

"Yes indeed ma'am. Miss Kakuma was just greeting me and I thought i'd make her a special pancake as a way of introducing myself." he said putting together the words like a recipe trying to make the most delicious and delectable outcome to the situation. "I can make you one too if you like. Or perhaps you'd prefer something a bit lighter? A nice breakfast salad perhaps? Or maybe you're the type to like a bigger breakfast? Bacon and eggs maybe?" He paused briefly realising he had been talking quite quickly and not given the woman a chance to answer. He also realised he had not provided cutlery or any options for the pancake. Not a good start. He quickly conjured up a knife and fork as well as a second plate which he balanced neatly on his arm. This one had a small bottle of sugar, some lemon slices, some orange slices, a few other assorted fruits and a bottle of syrup. Of course the pancake already had, in his opinion, the perfect amount of syrup, but people had funny tasted.

"I'm a cook by trade as you might of guessed, but unlike most in my profession I like to use a bit of magic to help the process along. Helps when finding new ingredients too." he explained with a wink.

Two girls ran down the stairs giggling and playing. The one in front wore a black hoodie with pink fur around the hood and arms, black and pink leggings and dark sneakers. Green hair flapped in the wind as she ran around the corner, her hand grabbed hold of one of the pillars and she shot around the corner. The girl chasing her looked and wore much the same clothing. Pink hoodie with black fur in the same location, pink and black leggings and bright shoes. Instead of going around the corner however, she hopped, placed a foot on the railing and shot off that. Flying toward the other girl in black, she collided with her target and grabbed hold of her arm. Spinning she tossed her toward the floor. The girl in black was thrown but rolled and landed on her feet with a roll. The other girl following the same, both took off down the straight away that lead to the guild exit. Both were having fun and laughing so they didn't notice that there was a person there. Until they almost collided with them. The girl in black looked forward in time to notice there was someone in her way. By this point any normal person would have run full force into the young man, Ariel was not a normal person. She lightly kicked up with her forward foot which set her flying, she rotated her body in a roll to avoid any part of her smacking into the man. She landed silently and gracefully on the railing of the stairs behind him. The girl in pink had more time to react then her sister did and slid on by the side of him. Spinning like a ice skater performing a dance they had practiced thousands of times. When she stopped, she leaned against the railing. Alie looked at her little loot she snagged. "You may have won the race sis, but i wont breakfast!" she said triumphantly holding the plate of food on it. Ariel stepped down from the railing and grabbed an apple off the plate and began to chow down on it, as Alie began slicing pieces of the pancake. Not even bothering to notice the man whom they snagged it from. Food always tasted better after a competition.
